The Lakers have strung together four straight wins and four straight games with at least 102 points scored, and all of a sudden, the oddsmakers think that they can get the job done against anyone in the league. In truth, there is no reason to think that the Knicks should be underdogs in this game at Staples Center. Sure, New York did lost two of its last four games at home on this home string, and the team failed to cover four of its last five, but the truth of the matter is that there is clearly one team that is better than the other in this one. The Lakers just haven’t really gotten it together this year, and the run and gun just isn’t working yet. Meanwhile, the Knicks are running all over the place as well, and F Carmelo Anthony is back and healthy. He is averaging 28.3 points per game and is ready to take the league by storm as an MVP candidate. Three others are averaging double digits in scoring, and F Amare Stoudemire might be able to get back in the lineup as well. If that turns out to be the case, it really could add a dynamic to this roster that it hasn’t had yet this year. New York is set to dominate when push comes to shove.

Knicks @ Lakers Pick: New York Knicks +3.5
Knicks @ Lakers Prediction: Knicks 110 – Lakers 99

College Basketball Picks: San Diego State Aztecs vs. Arizona Wildcats

San Diego State vs. Arizona Live TV: ESPN2

San Diego State and Arizona have both had great tournaments, and they’re back in the saddle in the finale of the Diamond Head Classic. To reach this point in the dance, the Aztecs had to take on the San Francisco Dons and the Indiana State Sycamores, while the Cats made very short work of both the East Tennessee State Blue Raiders and the Miami Hurricanes. The common thought has got to be that Arizona, an undefeated side, is just going to roll, but we aren’t all that sure that a San Diego State team that hasn’t been beaten since the opening night of the season, is going to go down quietly. We really think that this is the year that the Mountain West is going to be able to crack into the Final Four, and this is a great team to be able to do the trick. There is no doubt that last year’s 61-57 win for the Aztecs in this series will loom large, and we think that this is a time that they are going to be able to do it again to get themselves perhaps into the Top 10 in America.

San Diego State vs. Arizona Pick: San Diego State Aztecs
San Diego State vs. Arizona Prediction: San Diego State 72 – Arizona 68

NBA picks are one of our specialties here at Cappers Info, and we are set to make our free Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Clippers picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on Tuesday night at Staples Center.

Free NBA Picks: Denver Nuggets @ Los Angeles Clippers
Date: Tuesday, December 25th, 10:30 ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
NBA Betting Odds: Los Angeles -7.5
Nuggets @ Clippers On TV Live: ESPN

If you want to see two teams that can really get up and run, this is the game for you. The Nuggets just find a way to make you play at this pace, as both teams have averaged taking over 90 shots per game over the course of the last four clashes that they have played going into this one. Unlike other teams in the NBA, Denver is going to rely upon a ton of different scorers to get the job done, and any number of up to nine different players or so could have double digit scoring performances when push comes to shove. G Chris Paul is playing well at the moment, and there is no reason to think that he won’t be doing so again in this one. The Clippers do have one of the best defense in the NBA, and the Nuggets have one of the worst, but in the end, we do think that the style that Denver plays is going to give it the ability to at least hang around in this game. We want the points on our side, as we think that the Clips are notoriously overrated at this point now that they have 17 covers and 21 SU victories on the campaign.

Nuggets @ Clippers Pick: Denver Nuggets +7.5
Nuggets @ Clippers Final Score Prediction: Clippers 106 – Nuggets 102

Miami’s trip to the 50th State hasn’t been a bad one, though the team was absolutely embarrassed on the 23rd against the Arizona Wildcats in a game that got out of hand in a hurry. The team did smack the Hawaii Warriors though, and this is more or less the rubber game to determine whether or not the trip will be considered a success or a failure. Losing C Reggie Johnson to a hand injury really hurts the Canes, who have proven to not be nearly as deep without their big man. This is going to create a great opportunity for Indiana State to finish up this tournament in fine form, as the Sycamores already have a big upset over the Ole Miss Rebels, and they pushed the San Diego State Aztecs as well. This is definitely a youthful, but talented side, as the team’s top two scorers, G Jake Odum and F Manny Arop have both had big tournaments. The Sycamores aren’t quite good enough to win this game, but just as we saw against Ole Miss and San Diego State, we think that we are going to see the Missouri Valley team at least represent itself well against one of the projected tourney contenders out of the ACC.

Indiana State vs. Miami Pick: Indiana State Sycamores
Indiana State vs. Miami Prediction: Miami 73 – Indiana State 67

The Houston Rockets and the Chicago Bulls are going to square off in a Tuesday night NBA betting affair on December 25th. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Tuesday.

NBA Predictions: Houston Rockets @ Chicago Bulls
Date: Tuesday, December 25th, 8:00 ET
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
NBA Betting Odds: Chicago -4
Rockets vs. Bulls NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

The Rockets and the Bulls are two totally different teams, which makes this Christmas Day NBA betting affair a difficult one to handicap. Houston is going to run up and down the court, while the Bulls are going to try to play the game in the half court and slow matters down quite a bit. The key is going to be on the glass. C Omer Asik, a former member of the Bulls, is going to be making his triumphant return to the United Center, and he is going to have to muscle it up with all of the bigs that the Bulls are going to bring to the table. Someone else, be it F Chandler Parsons, F Patrick Patterson, or some others, are going to have to put up respectable efforts on the glass, because Houston, in spite of its 105+ points per game average, doesn’t shoot the ball all that well. Yes, this team can fly, but it has middling numbers shooting from the field (12th in the NBA) and from 3-point range (12th in the NBA). Houston did win the first meeting of these teams, but it also made 22 free throws. The club survived in spite of the fact that it turned the ball over 23 times, and if it does that again, it is going to end up getting romped at the United Center.

Rockets @ Bulls NBA Pick: Chicago Bulls -4
Rockets @ Bulls Score Prediction: Bulls 107 – Rockets 94

NBA picks are one of our specialties here at Cappers Info, and we are set to make our free Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on Tuesday night at Barclays Center.

Celtics @ Nets On TV Live: ESPN

We really aren’t all that impressed with the Nets at this point. We think that this team really isn’t made of all that much outside of G Deron Williams, G Joe Johnson, F Gerald Wallace, and C Brook Lopez. Sure, there are teams like this one that have excelled, especially in the postseason, but the bench really is significantly weaker on this team than on most of the other teams that have a few studs like the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Even the Celtics have a better and more talented bench than this one, though the role players are underachieving this year around aging stars F Kevin Garnett and F Paul Pierce. Pierce is having one of the best years of his career to date, averaging 21.0 points per game, while G Rajon Rondo is leading the NBA in assists at 12.2 dimes per night. The bottom line on Christmas Day though, is that the Celtics are the team better poised to step up for a big time win when push comes to shove. The Nets might get there at some point, but they aren’t there right now. To come on the road and win on Christmas would be huge, and we think that that is exactly what the Celtics are going to ultimately do in the first holiday game at the Barclays Center.

Celtics @ Nets Pick: Boston Celtics
Celtics @ Nets Final Score Prediction: Celtics 94 – Nets 88

The Heat are one of the best teams in the NBA at 18-6 this year, but it almost feels like they have underachieved just a bit, with a few uncharacteristic losses to teams that they should have put away relatively easily. The two defeats to the New York Knicks are definitely concerning as well at this point. The Thunder will have had four day off in a row to get ready for this one after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. They were a bit shorthanded in that game, as G Russell Westbrook was banged up but playing, while G Kevin Martin, the key cog off of the bench missed out with a quadriceps injury. We expect to see Martin back on the floor in this one, and that will make a huge difference between winning and losing for Oklahoma City. When this team is complete and full, it might be the best team in basketball, especially with the way that F Serge Ibaka is playing on both sides of the court, along with two of the NBA’s best pure scorers in F Kevin Durant and G Russell Westbrook. It won’t be a total measure of revenge, but at least it will be sweet for Oklahoma City to come to South Beach and pull the minor upset of the Heat.

Thunder @ Heat Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder
Thunder @ Heat Prediction: Thunder 102 – Heat 95
