The Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to square off in a Friday night NBA betting affair on February 1st. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Friday.

NBA Predictions: Los Angeles Lakers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Date: Friday, February 1st, 9:30 ET
Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, MN
NBA Betting Odds: Check Back Later
Lakers vs. Timberwolves NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

The Lakers are back on national television again, and again we ask ourselves why that’s the case. The team is dysfunctional at the moment, especially on the road. Of course, if C Dwight Howard doesn’t play and F Pau Gasol ends up back in the starting lineup once again, matters might turn out to be better for this team in the long run, knowing that this roster needs a shakeup in a big way. This is like the Super Bowl for the Timberwolves though, as they would love nothing more than to beat the Lakers in front of their fans in a season where very little is going right on the injury front. The opportunity is there to get the job done though, through outworking the Lakers. That’s what the Phoenix Suns did two nights ago, and that’s why the T’Wolves are going to do on Friday. Minnesota isn’t the better of these two teams, but as we have seen before with LA, if G Kobe Bryant can’t put the team on his back, there is a real chance that it is going to fall apart.

Lakers @ Timberwolves NBA Pick: Minnesota Timberwolves
Lakers @ Timberwolves Score Prediction: Timberwolves 101 – Lakers 96

NBA betting action continues on Friday night from Bankers Life Fieldhouse, where the Indiana Pacers will host the Miami Heat in a battle on the NBA betting odds. Don’t miss out on this one, which should be a great clash. The NBA television schedule shows this 7:00 ET tip happening on ESPN.

Free Basketball Picks: Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers
Date: Friday, February 1st, 7:00 ET
Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indiana, OK
NBA Betting Odds: Miami -2.5
Heat vs. Pacers Live TV: ESPN

170% Sportsbook Bonus

The Pacers and the Heat are two of the top teams in the East this year, but they have had two totally different ways of getting to this point. Miami is a product of its stars, knowing that it is only going as far as G Dwyane Wade, F Chris Bosh, and F LeBron James takes it. Of course, the team does have some nice role players like G Mario Chalmers and G Ray Allen, but for the most part, it’s the bigs that do all of the dirty work for the Heat. Indiana meanwhile, has had to do it as a team. The club is missing its star F Danny Granger, and as a result, a number of players like F David West and F Paul George have had to step up and do a little more on the offensive end of the court. What we like about the Pacers is the fact that they play some remarkable defense on a regular basis, and teams have an insanely difficult time trying to score on this unit. Miami wasn’t an exception a few weeks ago when these two teams met for the first time, as the end result was an 87-77 win for the hosting Pacers, and we think that there could be a similar outcome in the cards in this one on Friday night.

Heat @ Pacers Pick: Indiana Pacers +2.5
Heat @ Pacers Prediction: Pacers 91 – Heat 85

Mavericks @ Warriors On TV Live: TNT

5Dimes

There’s not a lot that we can handicap at this hour, but we do think that we have the inside edge regardless of what the Warriors ultimately look like. They’re a banged up team, but they’re a banged up team that has a heck of a lot of attitude, especially on the defensive side of the court. It’s not like Head Coach Mark Jackson doesn’t have plenty of scorers at his disposal. He can dispatch G Klay Thompson, the up and coming G Jarrett Jack, and F David Lee, all of which are healthy and ready to take down the Mavs. Dallas has been playing better ball of late, but the constant has been the play of this offense. The defense has been suspect at best. We think that the team that is going to stop this 8-1 ATS run that the Mavericks are on is one that can play some tight defense and knock down some outside shots. Regardless of whether G Stephen Curry and the rest of his mates play or not, this is still that team. Remember that Dallas is just 4-11 ATS in its last 15 visits here to Oracle Arena. The Warriors have already proven once that they can win a game in this series this year, having done so in Big D, and now, they have a shot to do it at home as well.

Mavericks @ Warriors Pick: Golden State Warriors
Mavericks @ Warriors Final Score Prediction: Warriors 109 – Mavericks 103

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Friday night. The Siena Saints and Manhattan Jaspers will have it in a nationally televised game, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on ESPNU.

Free College Hoops Picks: Manhattan Jaspers @ Siena Saints
Date: Friday, February 1st, 7:00 ET
Location: Times Union Center, Albany, NY
Manhattan vs. Siena Live TV: ESPNU

G Evan Hymes is coming off of his two best offensive games of the season, a 30-point outburst against Niagara, and a 21-point effort against Marist. As a result, the Saints are playing significantly better basketball than they have been playing over the course of the rest of the season. We do see a big problem in this one though, and that’s how well the Jaspers have been playing. We played them last Friday against Loyola Maryland, but it just didn’t pan out in an ugly 51-41 loss, but that’s one of just the two games since the start of the new year that Manhattan hasn’t covered. We still love the defense that this team plays, and we think that it is going to pay dividends when push comes to shove in this game. We know that we are going to have few points or so on our side in this game, and that might be just what the doctor ordered when push comes to shove. Go with Manhattan for the slight victory in what should be a relatively close game.

Manhattan vs. Siena Pick: Manhattan Jaspers -3
Manhattan vs. Siena Prediction: Manhattan 57 – Siena 53

NBA betting action continues on Thursday night from Chesapeake Energy Arena, where the Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Memphis Grizzlies in a battle on the NBA betting odds. Grizzlies vs. Thunder Live TV: TNT

170% Sportsbook Bonus

The Thunder and the Grizzlies are very possible Western Conference Finals contenders this year, and this is sure to be a potential playoff preview somewhere down the road. The Thunder have the top offense in the league, averaging 105.7 points per game this year, but they have fallen upon some relatively tough times at the moment. They have lost three of their last five games, and they have dropped four out of six from an ATS standpoint. The good news is that there are a few days off prior to this one, which might be just what the doctor has ordered for a team that has spent a heck of a lot of time on the road. Memphis has the best defense in the NBA at 89.5 points per game, and for as cold as Oklahoma City is, the Grizzlies are just that hot. They have won five out of seven both SU and ATS. However, we think that there is going to be some market adjustment at this point in this one. A rested Thunder side should be able to get the job done at home, even though they are going to have to lay a number of points in this one. Remember that Oklahoma City is 14-8 ATS this year at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Grizzlies @ Thunder Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder -8
Grizzlies @ Thunder Prediction: Thunder 100 – Grizzlies 91

Our Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Rangers picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Thursday night fight.

Free NHL Picks: Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Rangers
Date: Thursday, January 31st, 7:00 ET
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
NHL Betting Odds: New York -125
Penguins vs. Rangers NHL On TV: NHL Network

NHL BookmakerIt’s going to be a big time battle at the Garden on Thursday night, as the Pens and the Rangers meet for the second time this year. It’s still early in the year, but this 48-game season is going to fly by in a hurry, and every two points counts, especially when it comes against a division rival. The Atlantic Division is all the more difficult to try to succeed in. The New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils are the two teams at the forefront of the division right now, and that leaves these two and the Philadelphia Flyers to get back into the swing of things. We know that the potential is there for plenty of goals, but the Penguins are going to be hard pressed to duplicate their six-goal outburst from a week and a half ago here in the Big Apple. Pittsburgh only has six goals scored in its last four games, and it gets a goalie in Henrik Lundqvist that really has the ability to put the pressure on. We’re banking on Lundqvist to get back on track and post a great game against a struggling offense on Thursday night, as the Rangers pick up the two points to push the Pens back towards the gutter of the Atlantic Division.

Penguins vs. Rangers Pick: New York Rangers -125
Penguins at Rangers Score Prediction: New York 3 – Pittsburgh 1

Illinois vs. Michigan State Live TV: ESPN

Sparty has essentially been kicking tail and taking names over the course of the last several weeks. There are only four losses to show for this year, and those defeats are all in games in which there is no shame whatsoever. Basically, MSU has been beating the teams that it is supposed to beat and suffering iffy results on the road against the best and brightest in the Big Ten. This is one of those games that should be won for sure. However, we’re not all that certain that it is going to go according to the script. Oh, the men in green will win this game, but there is a point of market correction for the Illini. They have been embarrassed quite a bit over the course of the last several games, losing by 14 to Michigan, dropping by 14 to Northwestern as a 10-point favorite, getting crippled by 23 by Wisconsin, and 17 by Minnesota. Matters just don’t look like they could possibly get any worse at this point. That’s why we are going to take the points that are on our side in this one. The Illini did win when these two teams got together in January in an ugly 42-41 affair. It won’t be that ugly this time around, and Illinois isn’t going to win it, but it will walk away with a cover.

Illinois vs. Michigan State Pick: Illinois Fighting Illini +8.5
Illinois vs. Michigan State Prediction: Michigan State 71 – Illinois 67

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Thursday night. The Loyola Marymount Lions and Gonzaga Bulldogs will have it in a nationally televised game, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on ESPN2.

Free College Hoops Picks: Gonzaga Bulldogs @ Loyola Marymount Lions
Date: Thursday, January 31st, 11:00 ET
Location: Gersten Pavilion, Los Angeles, CA
Gonzaga vs. Loyola Marymount Live TV: ESPN2

Loyola Marymount has the ability to get a heck of a lot of points on the board. G Anthony Ireland is good for 20.0 points per game, while F Ashley Hamilton is averaging 14.5 points per game. Of course, if Gonzaga shuts down at least one, and heaven forbid both of these players, the Lions are absolutely dead. The Zags just don’t take nights off, and it shows. They beat San Francisco by 14, BYU by 20, Portland by 22, and Pepperdine by 16 in games against the lesser teams in the West Coast Conference. It doesn’t get much lower than the Lions, who are just 8-12 SU and 5-11 ATS on the campaign. Home court advantage doesn’t mean as much here in LA as it would in the Kennel, and we think that the Zags are set to get the job done in a big time way. Don’t be all that shocked if this turns out to be a 20+ point game once again, especially knowing that the Bulldogs are 9-3 ATS in the last 12 games in this series.

Gonzaga vs. Loyola Marymount Pick: Gonzaga Bulldogs -16.5
Gonzaga vs. Loyola Marymount Prediction: Gonzaga 81 – Loyola Marymount 58

College Basketball Picks: Arizona Wildcats @ Washington Huskies
Date: Thursday, January 31st, 9:00 ET
Location: Alaska Airlines Arena, Seattle, WA
Arizona vs. Washington Live TV: ESPN

GT Bets Banner

Washington is in dire need of a big time win, and this is going to be a tough one to get the job done. The club has lost three games in a row and has dropped two of three from an ATS standpoint. The weapons are there, especially from G CJ Wilcox, who is one of the top scorers in the Pac-12 at 19.0 points per game. If he can get the job done from the outside, there is no reason to think that U-Dub doesn’t at least have a shot at pulling off this upset. Arizona rebounded from its terrible loss at home against the UCLA Bruins to beat the USC Trojans by 24 points. Still, this is a team that feels like it has something wrong with it. The offense is there, but the defense has been wildly inconsistent, holding two of the last five foes to 50 and 54 points, but allowing 70 or more to the other three. The club has gone just 2-5 ATS in spite of the fact that it is 5-2 SU, and this could be problematic. This one means a heck of a lot more to Washington than it does to Arizona, and we think that this could be an upset in the making at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Arizona vs. Washington Pick: Washington Huskies +5.5
Arizona vs. Washington Prediction: Washington 75 – Arizona 72

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns are going to square off in a Wednesday night NBA betting affair on January 30th. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Wednesday.

NBA Predictions: Los Angeles Lakers @ Phoenix Suns
Date: Wednesday, January 30th, 10:30 ET
Location: US Airways Center, Phoenix, AZ
NBA Betting Odds: Los Angeles -3
Lakers vs. Suns NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

The Lakers and the Suns are two teams that we think are very similar, and we think that that is going to bite the men in purple and gold in the backside. Both teams fired their head coaches not all that long into the season, and both are still trying to come up with a new identity. The Lakers played last night in a grueling game against the New Orleans Hornets, and that might prove to ultimately hurt as well. Remember that all of these wins that LA has had have come at home, and on the road, the club has been absolutely horrendous this year at 6-13-1 ATS. The home team has won six straight and covered five straight in this series, and that includes earlier this year when the Lakers won at Staples Center 114-102, more or less before the poo hit the fan in Tinseltown and the team started to go in the tank. There really is little justification with recent form to take the Suns on Wednesday night, but after a long stretch of four games in five days, the back to back off days will really help get their heads screwed back on straight again. This is an upset waiting to happen.

Lakers @ Suns NBA Pick: Phoenix Suns +3
Lakers @ Suns Score Prediction: Suns 107 – Lakers 103

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Wednesday night. The Kansas State Wildcats and Texas Longhorns will have it in a nationally televised game, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on ESPN.

Free College Hoops Picks: Texas Longhorns @ Kansas State Wildcats
Date: Wednesday, January 30th, 8:00 ET
Location: Fred Bramlage Coliseum, Manhattan, KS
Texas vs. Kansas State Live TV: ESPN2

The Wildcats should have no problems romping to another win on Wednesday night, knowing that this game against Texas is a de facto bye game in the hot and heavy Big XII. It’s a nice spot to back the Cats for sure, knowing that they are going to be given a lot of disrespect by the oddsmakers after losing to Kansas and Iowa State last week. However, the team was a dog in both of those games, and the losses were both competitive games, so we aren’t punishing the Cats by any stretch of the imagination. Texas just flat out stinks offensively. Sure, the team is holding clubs down to just 35.3 percent shooting from the field, but if G Sheldon McClellan gets taken away from this offense, there is no way that the team is going to score 65 points. Texas has covered three in a row, and we expect that the college basketball odds are going to be reflective of that, but that doesn’t mean that it is justified. Head Coach Mack Brown and the gang are under .500 for a reason, and though the team is getting better, the loss of F Jonathan Holmes will really be felt in this one. The men in purple should romp by double digits at home.

Texas vs. Kansas State Pick: Kansas State Wildcats -8.5
Texas vs. Kansas State Prediction: Kansas State 71 – Texas 59

NBA picks are one of our specialties here at Cappers Info, and we are set to make our free Miami Heat @ Brooklyn Nets picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on Wednesday night at Barclays Center.

Free NBA Picks: Miami Heat @ Brooklyn Nets
Date: Wednesday, January 30th, 8:00 ET
Location: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY
NBA Betting Odds: Miami -2
Heat @ Nets On TV Live: ESPN

5Dimes

The Nets’ two-game skid became history on Monday night with a win against the Orlando Magic. The team put forth a fantastic defensive effort in that one against Orlando. It was the four straight win in which Brooklyn held a team to 89 points or fewer. Of course, in the two losses in the interim, the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies combined for 220 points. Now the Heat are coming to town after losing that double overtime heartbreaker to the Boston Celtics without G Rajon Rondo in the fold on Sunday. The team has had basically three full days to prep for this one though, which makes the Heat all the more dangerous. Miami is just 8-12 ATS away from home this year though, and that just isn’t going to cut it. The Nets were up 14 when they took on Miami back in December in South Beach, and that came without C Brook Lopez in the lineup. The Heat scored 52 of their 102 points in the paint, and there wasn’t a big body in the way to stop G Dwyane Wade from slashing into the middle of the court. If Lopez can figure out how to limit that in this one, there is a good chance that Brooklyn finds its way to victory.

Heat @ Nets Pick: Brooklyn Nets +2
Heat @ Nets Final Score Prediction: Nets 102 – Heat 94
