We’re down to 15-21 ATS on the season after a bad 1-3 ATS week, but we think that we have a good idea of what we’re looking at now that these teams are all facing one another again for a second straight week. Join us for our Week 11 CFL picks!
Calgary Stampeders @ Edmonton Eskimos Picks
Week 11 CFL Odds: Calgary -3
CFL Week 11 Lines: Over/Under 51.5

Payback, anyone? The Stampeders were absolutely laughed off of their home field in Week 11, getting stomped on Labour Day by these Eskies 35-7 in a game that really no one saw coming. The struggle for this offense was immense, and we couldn’t believe it ourselves. That being said, Edmonton really played a great game. The likelihood of two in a row isn’t all that great. This was a squad that was picked to miss the playoffs this season, and though that won’t be the case, we definitely don’t see the Eskimos sticking around to win the regular season West Division title. That’ll still be a crown that belongs to Calgary, and the Stamps will prove it by rebounding in the second version of the Battle of Alberta in as many weeks. Free CFL Picks: Calgary -3

Toronto Argonauts @ BC Lions Picks
Week 11 CFL Odds: BC -8
CFL Week 11 Lines: Over/Under 49

The Lions might have dismantled the Boatmen last week at Rogers Centre, but the trip across the country to get back to Vancouver has changed these two teams. BC should have back RB Jamel Robertson to bolster the running game, but the most important change comes at quarterback for Toronto. The Argos have cut QB Cleo Lemon after he was yanked at halftime of last week’s loss, and he will be replaced by QB Steven Jyles. Jyles was on the nine game injured list after offseason shoulder surgery, and now, he is going to be thrown right into the mix on just a week and a half of practice and no live game time to take on the Lions. Still, this is a nice spot for Jyles to be in, as there isn’t much time for the Leos to prepare for a totally different game plan that will come their way. Don’t be shocked if there is an upset in the cards on Saturday. Free CFL Picks: Toronto +8

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Montreal Alouettes Picks
Week 11 CFL Odds: Montreal -5
CFL Week 11 Lines: Over/Under 57

We backed Montreal last week to no avail, and we are going to go back to the well again this week. The problems that the Alouettes have had this year have mostly come on the road, though there is one unsightly home loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the mix. QB Anthony Calvillo got hurt in that game though, and aside from that, this has been a dominating team at Percival Molson Stadium. Sure, Hamilton has won three in a row in this series, but the last four have all been played at Ivor Wynne Stadium. It’s payback time in Quebec this weekend. Free CFL Picks: Montreal -5

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers Picks
Week 11 CFL Odds: Winnipeg -5.5
CFL Week 11 Lines: Over/Under 47.5

This is probably the most intriguing game on the slate this week due to the fact that we aren’t so sure who the better team in the game is. Sure, Saskatchewan is 2-7 and Winnipeg is 7-2, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Neither team is as good (or bad) as their record suggests. The Riders really dominated this game last week, winning 27-7, and they kept the Blue Bombers out of the end zone the entire night. Will that be the case again? It might be. QB Buck Pierce’s numbers are slipping just a bit, and he just doesn’t have the weapons to take advantage of a sometimes suspect Saskatchewan secondary (say THAT four times fast!). That being said, QB Darian Durant is on the upswing right now, and he should really do a number again on Head Coach Paul LaPolice’s defense. Free CFL Picks: Saskatchewan +5.5

It was a rough week last week in the CFL, getting knocked off by the hook in one game and by just a matter of a few yards in the other. We dropped to 14-18 ATS on the season after the rough week, but we’re back at it in an effort to get back to the .500 mark this week in CFL betting action!
BC Lions @ Toronto Argonauts Picks
Week 10 CFL Odds: BC -1.5
CFL Week 10 Lines: Over/Under 51

It’s hard to say that a pair of 2-6 teams are playing well right now, but relatively speaking, we have no troubles with that with Toronto and BC. The Lions have won two out of three, and QB Travis Lulay definitely has appeared to be picking things up this year, but in the end, we just aren’t sure that the Lions have the better of these two teams, let alone having the better team flying clear across Canada. Toronto’s QB Cleo Lemon has controlled his temperament to throw ridiculous INTs, and he is completing a high percentage of his passes. Don’t be shocked if he pulls off the mild upset on Friday. Free CFL Picks: Toronto -1.5

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Saskatchewan Roughriders Picks
Week 10 CFL Odds: Winnipeg -3
CFL Week 10 Lines: Over/Under 49.5

Can you say, “overinflated?” Sure, Saskatchewan has been a train wreck all season long and Winnipeg has been a heck of a lot better team. The Blue Bombers have to come back to earth just like the Eskimos did at some point, right? And you’d like to think that the two-time defending West Division champs aren’t just going to lay down and die this year even though they are just 1-7. The return of Head Coach Ken Miller should help out the psyche for the Riders quite a bit this year, and we wouldn’t be surprised at all if they were able to take down the Bombers this week and get their season once again heading in the right direction. Free CFL Picks: Saskatchewan +3

Montreal Alouettes @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats Picks
Week 10 CFL Odds: Montreal -2.5
CFL Week 10 Lines: Over/Under 55.5

This is the second time in a span of just a month that these two teams have met here at Ivor Wynne Stadium, and it is becoming clear that this is a little house of horrors for the Alouettes. QB Anthony Calvillo had a miserable game in spite of the fact that he had some solid statistics when these teams met a month and change ago, but now, he is no longer dealing with that pesky eye injury. QB Kevin Glenn and the Ti-Cats have had their offense rolling, but the truth of the matter is that they have allowed at least 30 points in four of their last five games, and the only game in the middle was that 26 allowed to Montreal. If the Alouettes reach 30 in this one, they aren’t losing, especially after that angering loss against Calgary last week at McMahon Stadium. Free CFL Picks: Montreal -2.5

Edmonton Eskimos @ Calgary Stampeders Picks
Week 10 CFL Odds: Calgary -9
CFL Week 10 Lines: Over/Under 48

Calgary’s offense is rolling right now, and QB Henry Burris is the man to thank for that. He accounted for right around 450 total yards of offense last week, and he is well on his way to returning to the status as the torchbearer of quarterbacks in this league. Meanwhile, Edmonton is still expected to be without WR Fred Stamps and a number of other wide receivers, and it has to overcome the fact that it hasn’t scored a major in nearly three full games of game time. Sure, we think that the Eskies will be improved with two and a half weeks of practice to prepare for this one, but in the end, we just don’t see it making all that much of a difference. Calgary is clearly the better team, and it will be out to make a statement over these next two weeks, to take a three game lead in the West Division and to make up for that home loss to Edmonton from earlier in the year. Free CFL Picks: Calgary -9

Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers Picks
Week 9 CFL Odds: Winnipeg -3.5
CFL Week 9 Lines: Over/Under 49.5

The time is now for Winnipeg to ensure that it will have a home game in the playoffs this year, and this is the perfect game to lock this all up. No, mathematically, the Blue Bombers won’t be set in stone for a home game in their final year at Canad Inns Stadium with a win, but they would have three games up with the tiebreaker for the season on Hamilton with just 10 games to play. The Tabbies didn’t prove anything the last time around when these two teams played, getting beaten badly on their home turf as huge favorites. We got that one right by backing Winnipeg. We’re going to get this one right as well by backing the Bombers once again. There’s a real class differential between these two teams. Free CFL Picks: Winnipeg -3.5

Montreal Alouettes @ Calgary Stampeders Picks
Week 9 CFL Odds: Calgary -1
CFL Week 9 Lines: Over/Under 54.5

It seems like the whole world is ready to jump on the Calgary bandwagon after watching it beat up Hamilton and Saskatchewan in its previous two games before the bye week. Sure, it’s true that the Stamps are looking like a significantly better side than the one that arguably could have limped to an 0-4, maybe even an 0-5 start to the season, but we just aren’t sold that they are good enough to tango with the Alouettes. Remember something about AC and the gang. Montreal is 5-1 in games in which Calvillo has started and finished, and the one game that was lost, he was still dealing with some eye injuries. The offense has also averaged 34.4 points per game in truly “healthy” games for Calvillo. This is all just too good to pass up on. There’s no way that the Alouettes should be an underdog, though we definitely do expect a close game. Free CFL Picks: Montreal +1

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Toronto Argonauts Picks
Week 8 CFL Odds: Toronto -3
CFL Week 8 Lines: Over/Under 54.5

The Argonauts and Roughriders are both absolutely atrocious this season, but one of them needs to come up with the two points when they face each other in Week 8. The winner will likely be on the inside track towards that last playoff spot. QB Cleo Lemon, believe it or not, is the better of the two quarterbacks right now, and of the three 1-6 teams, the Boatmen are the one team with no QB controversy whatsoever. Lemon has thrown for almost 700 yards and five TDs against just one pick since spending basically two games out injured. Saskatchewan has the ability to win this game, but unless it finds some way to come up with a Herculean effort like it did at Montreal a few weeks back, it will probably get run off of the field at Rogers Centre. Free CFL Picks: Toronto -3

BC Lions @ Edmonton Eskimos Picks
Week 8 CFL Odds: Edmonton -6.5
CFL Week 8 Lines: Over/Under 50

These two teams might be separated by four games in the standings, but they are a heck of a lot closer than that outward appearance looks. The Lions still really don’t know if they are going to go with QB Travis Lulay or QB Jarious Jackson. Neither option looks all that good right now, but at least the defense for the Lions has played relatively competent ball over these last few weeks. Sure, Edmonton’s defense is one of the best in the league, but the team has now played two games without WR Fred Stamps. The team only has 20 points to show for those two games, including scoring just four last week against the Montreal Alouettes. And now you want us to lay a TD with these guys? The Eskies are going in the wrong direction… and fast… Free CFL Picks: BC +6.5

Edmonton Eskimos @ Montreal Alouettes Picks
Week 7 CFL Odds: Montreal -6.5
CFL Week 7 Lines: Over/Under 54.5

Records will be falling left and right on Thursday night, as QB Anthony Calvillo should reach the 70,000 passing yard mark and the 400 TD mark for his career all in this game. To make matters even better for him, his Alouettes came up with a big time win last week against Toronto, and now, it has its sights set against an Edmonton team that they have a great history against. The Eskies have lost WR Fred Stamps thanks to a fluky injury, and if last week’s bad loss to Winnipeg on the road was any indication, this is going to be one ugly battle. Don’t be shocked if the Alouettes have knocked Edmonton out of this one by intermission. Free CFL Picks: Montreal -6.5

Calgary Stampeders @ Saskatchewan Roughriders Picks
Week 7 CFL Odds: Calgary -3.5
CFL Week 7 Lines: Over/Under 48.5

Just two weeks ago, these two teams had it out right here at Mosaic Stadium in a game that really could have gone either way. The Stamps took the ‘W’ 22-18, but there just has to be better in the tank for the men in green this one. Saskatchewan, the two time West Division defending champs are just 1-5 on the season, and though they are going to get every chance in the world to still get in the playoffs even if this one is lost, we know that the Riders really need to start putting games in the win column. Could we see QB Ryan Dinwiddie this week in place of the struggling QB Darian Durant? Don’t be shocked if that happens and if it provides just the shot in the arm necessary to get Saskatchewan over the hump for the upset in this one. Free CFL Picks: Saskatchewan +3.5

Toronto Argonauts @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats Picks
Week 7 CFL Odds: Hamilton -7
CFL Week 7 Lines: Over/Under 50

The Battle of Alberta has historically belonged to the Ti-Cats, but in this case, we aren’t so sure that they are going to be able to get the job done. We just don’t trust either of these teams right now, as both are about as consistent as the Dow Jones. The Tabbies went a stretch of 3.5 games where they scored almost 120 points, and then they turned around in the second half against Calgary last week and put a goose egg on the board. The defense has a game this year with three points allowed (thanks to the even more inconsistent Saskatchewan offense), but in all other games, at least 24 have gone up on the board for the bad guys. Meanwhile, Toronto just can’t get out of its own way offensively. QB Cleo Lemon has shown some promise, and we really love what we see out of rookie RB Chad Kackert, but the rest of this team could be condemned for all we care. That being said, the Boatmen are probably the lesser of the two evils right now, especially when you consider the fact that there is such a big spread in this one. Free CFL Picks: Toronto +7

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ BC Lions Picks
Week 7 CFL Odds: BC -1.5
CFL Week 7 Lines: Over/Under 49.5

One would think that Winnipeg is the right play on Saturday night right off the bat. After all, it is 15-5-1 ATS in its last 21 games overall and is the only team in the league with a perfect ATS mark at 6-0 ATS. On top of that, BC is just 4-10 ATS in its last 14 home games. The Bombers are 5-1. BC is only 1-5. Winnipeg is coming off of one of its most important wins of the year. The Lions are happy to just have their one win. However, last season, once Head Coach Wally Buono’s team started to get the taste of winning, it just never gave back games again. The Blue Bombers are in for a rude awakening in this one. It looks like a fish. It smells like a fishy. And it’s probably fishy. Take the hosts. Free CFL Picks: BC -1.5

Montreal Alouettes @ Toronto Argonauts Picks
Week 6 CFL Odds: Montreal -4
CFL Week 6 Lines: Over/Under 52.5

Last week, Toronto coughed up a game that it should’ve won and Montreal choked a game that should’ve never been much of a game, and one of these two teams is going to be reeling in a big way going into Week 7 next week. The Argos are only playing their second home game though, so we are tending to give them the benefit of the doubt whether QB Dalton Bell or QB Cleo Lemon ends up taking the ball under center. QB Anthony Calvillo has had back to back absolutely atrocious games, something that he just doesn’t do unless he is hurt. We just can’t run the risk that AC’s eye injury is still bad enough to blur his vision, especially on the road against a hungry Toronto team that has to be glad to be back in its own building. Free CFL Picks: Toronto +4

Edmonton Eskimos @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers Picks
Week 6 CFL Odds: Edmonton -1
CFL Week 6 Lines: Over/Under 50

Edmonton and Winnipeg are surprisingly the two best teams in the league this year, as scary as that sounds. Will one or both of these teams end up collapsing? Odds have it, both of these teams are going to fall back a bit, but we see Edmonton falling a lot faster and a lot further than Winnipeg will. The Blue Bombers have the No. 1 ranked defense in the league, and they have a signal caller in QB Buck Pierce that, when healthy, is one of the best in the league. The Eskimos really were lucky to survive games against Calgary and Toronto over the last two weeks. This is the last trip to Canad Inns Stadium for Edmonton before the Bombers move into their new facilities. It won’t be a good one. The wrong team is favored in this game. Free CFL Picks: Winnipeg +1

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ BC Lions Picks
Week 6 CFL Odds: BC -3
CFL Week 6 Lines: Over/Under 53.5

Whereas the Bombers and Eskies have been the two most pleasantly surprising teams, the Riders and Lions have been the two most disappointing ones. QB Darian Durant really looks lost right now without WR Andy Fantuz, who is now in the NFL, and it is clear that WR Weston Dressler can’t do it all by himself. The defense has allowed over 30 points per game as well, something that isn’t going to yield a whole heck of a lot of victories. BC’s problems are a heck of a lot deeper than that. QB Travis Lulay has a hard time completing more than 50 or so percent of his passes at this point, and the defense, though putting up somewhat respectable numbers, just finds ways to choke down the stretch in big games. Still, the Lions have looked the more complete of these two teams, and they’ll get the ‘W’ on Friday. Free CFL Picks: BC -3

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Calgary Stampeders Picks
Week 6 CFL Odds: Calgary -4
CFL Week 6 Lines: Over/Under 50.5

Logic would tell you that the Stamps are the right play in the final game of Week 6. They haven’t lost a game against the Tabbies at home since 2004, and they are definitely due to win a home game since they haven’t won one since the end of last regular season. You know that the hometown crowd at McMahon Stadium is going to be restless with another setback, especially against a team that is perennially a loser. QB Henry Burris should outshine QB Kevin Glenn as well… Right? Maybe not. Glenn has better numbers than Burris does on the year, and Hamilton is a hot team right now having taken three games in a row. The Stamps just haven’t looked all that great this year, and in spite of the fact that they are 3-2, they very well could be 0-5. They’ll drop down to .500 on Saturday night in what will be the big upset of the weekend. Free CFL Picks: Hamilton +4
