Free NHL Picks: Ottawa Senators at Pittsburgh Penguins
Date: Tuesday, May 14th, 7:30 ET
Location: Consol Energy Arena, Pittsburgh, PA
NHL Betting Odds: Pittsburgh -200
Senators vs. Penguins NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 0-0

5DimesThe Penguins and the Senators seem to be separated by worlds. Pittsburgh was definitively the most talented team from a skating standpoint in the opening round of the playoffs, as it scored a whopping 25 goals in six games against the New York Islanders, including at least four in the final four games. The offense was simply unstoppable, but then again, the Isles aren’t known for their outstanding defense, and it has been years since G Evgeni Nabokov was really a force in the pipes. This time around though, the Penguins are going to be getting a challenge from a great defense and a rock solid goalie in G Craig Anderson, who had a great start to his postseason. Ottawa was able to excuse the Montreal Canadiens in just five games, though we all know that this series is going to be one in which the Penguins don’t give up the way that the Habs did. That being said, the oddsmakers just don’t have this one right. Sure, Pittsburgh is the better team in this series, and it deserves the nod with home ice advantage for about 30 cents as well. However, when push comes to shove, there is no way that G Tomas Vokoun should be a -200 favorite in the playoffs against a guy who legitimately perhaps should have been the Vezina Trophy winner this year. We like Ottawa at this price in this series and will continue to back the Sens until the numbers start to settle into the -160 area where they probably belong.

Senators vs. Penguins Game 1 Pick: Ottawa Senators +180
Senators at Penguins Game 1 Predictions: Senators 3 – Penguins 2

Our Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins Game 7 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Monday night fight here in the second season.

Game 7 Picks: Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins
Date: Monday, May 13th, 7:00 ET
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NHL Betting Odds: Check Back Later
Maple Leafs vs. Bruins NHL On TV: CNBC

Series Tied 3-3

NHL BookmakerAlright Boston, it’s time to wake up and smell the roses! The Bruins know that they are in some trouble in this game, as they have all of the pressure in the world on their shoulders. They have lost two straight games against the Maple Leafs, one at home and one away from home, and now, they are forced to win Game 7 if they are to extend their season by at least another week and a half or so. There is going to be a lot of support for Toronto, especially knowing that it is going to be a heavy, heavy underdog in this game. However, sometimes you just have to go with your gut. Our gut is still telling us that the better team is going to find a way to win this series. The Maple Leafs have the lesser goalie. They have the lesser front line for sure. They have the lesser defense. They have very little depth in comparison to Boston. In the end, the Bruins are playing at home as well, and we just can’t imagine this team, which dominated parts of the first four games of this series like we haven’t seen in the playoffs from most teams this year, losing a third straight game overall and a second straight here at home. This is where we should be seeing the whole “Boston Strong” thing come up. The Bruins are a strong team, and they have overcome so many situations like this in the past. The Maple Leafs just aren’t experienced enough or talented enough to come into Beantown and win a Game 7 quite yet. They should hold their heads high in defeat, but defeat it will still be.

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins Game 7 Pick: Boston Bruins
Game 7 Maple Leafs vs. Bruins Predictions: Boston 3 – Toronto 1

Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals takes place on Monday night, and here at Cappers Info, we have all of the best NHL playoffs picks you’ll find on the internet. The Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers will meet in Game 7 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Date: Monday, May 13th, 8:00 ET
Location: Verizon Center, Washington DC
NHL Betting Odds: Check Back Later
Rangers vs. Capitals NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 3-3

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe Capitals and the Rangers really have enjoyed a fantastic series against one another, and this one appropriately is going to come down to this. This has been the best series of the bunch in the Eastern Conference, and the only series that rivals it in the entire postseason is the one that ended last night between the Detroit Red Wings and the Anaheim Ducks. We will surely admit that the fact that G Braden Holtby lost Game 7 last year to the Rangers is a bit scary. However, we also know that G Henrik Lundqvist has his own demons that he has to settle, knowing that he is just 3-10 in his 13 overtime games thus far in his playoff career. Granted, two of those wins came last year against these Caps in the second round of the playoffs. Still, it’s been all about the home team. The home team has won 10 straight playoff games in this series, including all six here in the opening round in 2013. We aren’t afraid of any one player taking over the game, as we haven’t seen much from either LW Alexander Ovechkin (one goal, one assist) or LW Rick Nash (one assist) in this entire series. With that fear out of the way, we default to going back to the home team once again. We have the hunch that Washington has been the better team all season long by the slightest of margins, and the slightest of margins will get it into the second round of the postseason for the second straight year.

Rangers vs. Capitals Game 7 Pick: Washington Capitals
Rangers at Capitals Score Prediction: Washington 2 – New York 1

Our Washington Capitals at New York Rangers Game 6 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Sunday night fight here in the second season.

Game 6 Picks: Washington Capitals at New York Rangers
Date: Sunday, May 12th, 4:30 ET
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
NHL Betting Odds: Rangers -140
Capitals vs. Rangers NHL On TV: CNBC

Capitals Lead Series 3-2

NHL BookmakerThere hasn’t been a road team win a game yet in this series, and the Capitals are trying to change all of that on Sunday. The last thing they want to do is play Game 6 on Sunday, Game 7 on Monday, and then Game 1 on Wednesday against either the Boston Bruins or the Toronto Maple Leafs. That being said, just winning this series is the first step to be taken, and the team that is going to win this game will be the one that gets the better production out of its stars. LW Alexander Ovechkin has gone three straight games without a point and four straight without a goal after scoring 32 times in the regular season. LW Rick Nash still hasn’t lit the lamp in this series, and he only has a single assist to show for his work. We know that both of these goalies are going to be on point, and if Game 6 is anything like Game 5, it is going to take a stroke of genius or a stroke of luck to win this game. Though both of the games at MSG featured seven goals, we still don’t get the feeling that either team is going to get to three in this one, and if that turns out to be the case, the ‘under’ is once again a winner. As far as the SU winner? It’s far too close to call, but we’ll say that this one goes seven.

Capitals vs. Rangers Game 6 Pick: Under 5
Game 6 Capitals vs. Rangers Predictions: New York 2 – Washington 1

Bruins vs. Maple Leafs NHL On TV: CNBC

Bruins Lead Series 3-2

5DimesThe Maple Leafs have to be asking themselves what they have to do to win a game in this series. Toronto hasn’t won at home in this series, and for the most part, it hasn’t come all that close to getting the job done either. The Leafs have had no answers whatsoever to the Boston offense, which has scored a whopping 16 goals in the first five games of this series. So to answer the question as to what Toronto has to do to win? Hope that G James Reimer comes up with the game of his life for the second straight game. Reimer stopped 43-of-44 shots in Game 5 at the TD Garden, but we just can’t expect him to do the same thing again in this one. We don’t want to say that home ice advantage is totally meaningless in this series, but the truth of the matter is that the home team has lost four straight games. Boston has ripped off an average of 41.6 shots per game in this series, and that’s only with one overtime period added into the mix. It’s unbelievable how many chances this team is producing, and it’s only a matter of time until the floodgates open once again. Don’t be shocked if the Bruins close this puppy out with a huge performance in this one.

Game 7 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals takes place on Sunday night, and here at Cappers Info, we have all of the best NHL playoffs picks you’ll find on the internet. The Anaheim Ducks and the Detroit Red Wings will meet in Game 7 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Free NHL Playoffs Picks: Detroit Red Wings at Anaheim Ducks Game 7
Date: Sunday, May 12th, 10:00 ET
Location: Honda Center, Anaheim, CA
NHL Betting Odds: Ducks -135
Red Wings vs. Ducks NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 3-3

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe Ducks and the Red Wings have played one of the best series that we have ever seen, and now, NHL betting fans are being rewarded with the spectacle of all spectacles, a tightly contested Game 7 that legitimately could go either way. Separating these two teams would be impossible to do. Anaheim has probably had the slightly better goaltending, but Detroit has gotten the better pressure at net. The Ducks stars aren’t quite as great as the Red Wings stars, but more players have gotten in on the act for Anaheim than have for Detroit. Here’s the only difference that we really see. C Pavel Datsyuk and LW Henrik Zetterberg are simply outplaying the combination of C Ryan Getzlaf and RW Corey Perry. Perry has been nowhere to be found in this series since its start, and the only thing that we see of him are fanned shots and blown opportunities, sometimes at gaping nets. When the Red Wings have had their opportunities, they have not missed. They are a battle tested team, and they essentially went through four Game 7 situations at the end of the regular season just to get into the playoffs. They won each of those battles when they had to, and they’ll win this one as well. We like the Wings to leave the Ducks on ice in the Pond.

Red Wings vs. Ducks Game 7 Pick: Detroit Red Wings +122
Red Wings at Ducks Score Prediction: Detroit 2 – Anaheim 1

Our Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Islanders Game 6 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Saturday night fight here in the second season.

Game 6 Picks: Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Islanders
Date: Saturday, May 11th, 7:00 ET
Location: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, NY
NHL Betting Odds: Penguins -170
Penguins vs. Islanders NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Penguins Lead Series 3-2

NHL BookmakerThis is the only game left on the docket on Saturday to be played, and it should be a doozy. The Penguins know that they have to win this one if they are ultimately going to get rid of this series without having to face the pressure test of that Game 7 at home. The Islanders really have nothing whatsoever to lose. They haven’t been the better team in this series by any stretch of the imagination, they are going against a clearly superior outfit, and they haven’t won a game in which they have been facing elimination in the playoffs in over a decade. That being said, the percentage play is clearly still on New York. This is a team that has never given up all season long. No one figured that this team was going to even get into the playoffs. It was supposed to be the worst team in the Atlantic Division, and the argument could be made that it was the second best team in the division when push came to shove. RW Kyle Okposo was supposed to have a remarkable season, yet he only scored four goals. Now, he’s back in the playoffs doing everything that any of his teammates could ask of him. Sure, G Evgeni Nabokov has stunk, and he has stunk out loud for most of this series. You can’t measure a team’s heart, though. New York has heart, and it is going to have the backing of its hometown crowd. The whole of Long Island will be behind its Islanders, and we have to think that they force Game 7 at least 40% of the time, which make the hockey odds more than good enough for us.

Penguins vs. Islanders Game 6 Pick: New York Islanders +160
Game 6 Penguins vs. Islanders Predictions: New York 4 – Pittsburgh 2

Free NHL Picks: Anaheim Ducks at Detroit Red Wings

Ducks vs. Red Wings NHL On TV: CNBC

Ducks Lead Series 3-2

5DimesAbout the only thing that we have come to expect over the course of the first round series between the Red Wings and the Ducks is that anything can happen. We have seen games where teams have gotten shut out (Detroit in Game 3) and games where both teams have gone wild offensively (Game 2). Now, we’ve seen back to back 3-2 games where the goaltenders on both sides have done a ton to try to save the day for their team. In Game 4, it was G Jimmy Howard that got the job done and won the game. In Game 5, it was G Jonas Hiller’s turn. This is a series that has seemed destined for seven games right from the get go, and it would be a shame if the end result was anything different. We figure when there is a will, there is a way, and though we have seen the best out of Hiller in this series from his Game 3 shutout, we think that it is going to be Howard’s turn to come up with a big time performance. Don’t be shocked if the Ducks get held to just one goal or so in this game, and perhaps they will ultimately be shut out. Regardless, whether by hook or by crook, Detroit should force this series back to Anaheim for a Game 7 this weekend.

Ducks vs. Red Wings Game 6 Pick: Detroit Red Wings -130
Ducks at Red Wings Game 6 Predictions: Detroit 2 – Anaheim 1

Location: Verizon Center, Washington DC
NHL Betting Odds: Capitals -135
Rangers vs. Capitals NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 2-2

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe schedule makers had to know that this was going to be a great series, and we have to think that in all likelihood, this series is going seven games. If that’s the case, there are going to be some tired legs on the ice, and the thought has to be given to the idea of resting some of the regulars for a shift or two here and there, knowing that Game 5, 6, and 7 are going to be played in a span of just four days. If that’s the case, we like the Rangers, as they have been the deeper team in this series. All eyes are on the struggling LW Rick Nash, but what isn’t recognized is the fact that some of the men down on the depth chart such as LW Carl Hagelin have been able to step it up and be superstars with huge stats. The Capitals really haven’t had an answer to C Derek Stepan in this series quite yet, and if they don’t find an answer, they might be in some trouble. We do think that it is entirely possible that this game goes to overtime, and we think that taking the Rangers and the puck line is the right choice to make. Though New York is just 1-4 in the last five games that it has played here at the Verizon Center, all the last three games of this series have been tight in the third period, and all three were decided by exactly one goal.

Rangers vs. Capitals Game 5 Pick: New York Rangers +1.5 (-210)
Rangers at Capitals Score Prediction: Washington 2 – New York 1

Our St. Louis Blues at Los Angeles Kings Game 6 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Friday night fight here in the second season.

Game 6 Picks: St. Louis Blues at Los Angeles Kings
Date: Friday, May 10th, 10:00 ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
NHL Betting Odds: Kings -155
Blues vs. Kings NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Kings Lead Series 3-2

NHL BookmakerDon’t you just get the feeling that G Jonathan Quick is about set to come up with a huge performance like he did in Game 3? The shutout victory in the first game here at Staples Center was the one that really turned the tide of this series around, and all of a sudden, the Kings went from down 0-2 to up 3-2. Quick hasn’t always been at his best, but he has found a way to do enough to win. Take away that first five minutes or so of Game 4, and he has allowed just three goals in his last three games, and one of those, the goal that tied the game in Game 5 in the third period, wouldn’t have been stopped by any goalie on the planet with the number of bodies that that puck got through. Quick now has a 1.69 GAA and a .942 save percentage, and he is simply outplaying G Brian Elliott, who is doing well in his own right. The Kings have won seven straight against St. Louis here at Staples Center, and they have won 13 of the last 16 games in this series overall dating back a few seasons. LA was able to close this series out at home when it got the chance last year, and this was a team that played well when it had its foes on the ropes in the postseason a season ago. We expect nothing less than a dominating effort by Quick on Friday night, as the Kings march onto the Western Conference Semifinals to get ready for a date with most likely the Anaheim Ducks.

Blues vs. Kings Game 6 Pick: Los Angeles Kings -155
Game 6 Blues vs. Kings Predictions: Los Angeles 2 – St. Louis 0

NHL Betting Odds: Bruins -205
Maple Leafs vs. Bruins NHL On TV: NHL Network

Bruins Lead Series 3-1

5DimesAt the outset of the postseason, goals were at a premium for most of the teams across the league, but all of a sudden over the course of the last few days, ‘overs’ have been flying in. This series between Boston and Toronto has had no shortage of goals in it, and it simply comes from a slew of opportunities. The home team has averaged 44.0 shots per game in this series, and the hosts have had at least 40 shots in each of those games. Only one of the four went to overtime, and unfortunately for the Maple Leafs, they were on the wrong end of the game that could have tied this series. This Boston team is already starting to look a little bit like the team that won the Stanley Cup two years ago. The offense is clicking, and C David Krejci is playing like a Conn Smythe Award contender. The Bruins are almost showing a blind aggression, and G James Reimer is putting up stats that make him look like he has been a heck of a lot worse than truly has been. With desperation officially here for the Maple Leafs, we have to think that this is a game that is ultimately going to get past the number once again. The oddsmakers have risen the number to reach to 5.5 at most sportsbooks, but we don’t think it truly matters. This one should reach at least six or seven goals for the fourth (and probably final) straight game.

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins Game 5 Pick: Over 5.5
Maple Leafs at Bruins Game 5 Predictions: Boston 4 – Toronto 3

Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals takes place on Thursday night, and here at Cappers Info, we have all of the best NHL playoffs picks you’ll find on the internet. The Chicago Blackhawks and the Minnesota Wild will meet in Game 5 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Free NHL Playoffs Picks: Minnesota Wild at Chicago Blackhawks Game 5
Date: Thursday, May 9th, 9:30 ET
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
NHL Betting Odds: Blackhawks -270
Wild vs. Blackhawks NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Blackhawks Lead Series 3-1

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe Blackhawks know that they have this series in hand if they can just remember to play their game and not get all that cute. Absolutely nothing is going right for Minnesota right now. G Niklas Backstrom is still hurt. Now G Josh Harding is hurt. RW Jason Pominville is back but doesn’t look all that healthy. LW Zach Parise has done absolutely nothing in this series. And now, here comes Minnesota, back to the Windy City, where it not only has to win this game, likely with a third goaltender in the crease, but it where it also is going to have to win a Game 7 as well after also winning a Game 6 on Saturday night at home. Needless to say, the odds look insurmountable, and the truth of the matter is that they probably are. That being said though, there is no way that we are laying -270 on a team here in the playoffs, regardless of the situation. Chicago is definitely the better of these two teams, and it is probably winning this game at least 60% of the time, but 60% isn’t good enough to make us want to back the Blackhawks. We have to think that there is a scenario where we could plausibly see the Wild win, and perhaps G Darcy Kuemper comes out with his hair on fire in his first career playoff start. You never know this time of year… Miracles can come true.

Wild vs. Blackhawks Game 5 Pick: Minnesota Wild +255
Wild at Blackhawks Score Prediction: Minnesota 2 – Chicago 1
