Making sports betting picks is one of my specialties, and today, I’m making my Saturday Football Tipster pick based upon the football trends and Week 8 college football odds for the Washington Huskies vs. Arizona Wildcats game on Saturday, September 20th at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Washington Huskies (3-3, 3-3 ATS) +7.5
Arizona Wildcats (3-3, 3-3 ATS) -7.5
Over/Under 61.5
The ‘total’ in this Pac-12 tussle between the Wildcats and the Huskies is what I’m going to be zeroing in on this weekend for sure. Both of these teams are total polar opposites in terms of what they have done both offensively and defensively this year, and the oddsmakers are figuring that home field advantage is going to give the edge to the Arizona offense over the Washington defense. I totally agree.
The Huskies have averaged just 15.2 points per game this year in games played at the FBS level, but we have to remember that they have also played some absolutely outstanding defenses. There hasn’t been a bad defense in the bunch in these last four (USC, Oregon, Stanford, and LSU). Arizona meanwhile, has come across some respectable defensive teams and have figured out how to put some points up, most notably the 48 that it scored two weeks ago versus the Stanford Cardinal. The defense for the Cats has been atrocious too, allowing at least 38 in four of its last five. In all five FBS games this year, Arizona has allowed either at least 38 points or at least 500 yards, and in a lot of cases, both.
On top of all of that, this is generally a higher scoring series. Five straight have eclipsed the ‘total’, including last year when these two teams combined to put 73 points on the board to just barely slip past the over/under of 71. Expect to see another similar outing like that in this one, as I think that this is the game that the U-Dub offense finally gets something going.
Washington @ Arizona Tips: Over 61.5
