The Lakers still have some major problems, as they have lost five games in a row, have failed to cover four of the five, and are still playing without C Dwight Howard and F Pau Gasol. Now, the Thunder are coming to town for a rematch of a playoff series from last season. G Russell Westbrook and F Kevin Durant went off for a combined 69 points when these two teams met the first time around this year. The only reason that game stayed within six points and gave the Lakers the cover was because of a late rally by the men in purple and gold that ultimately amounted to nothing. The good news for LA is that it doesn’t have much in the way of big men to account for in this game, though we really are curious as to who is going to match up with C Kendrick Perkins and F Serge Ibaka. Theoretically, G Kobe Bryant is going to have to guard either the much bigger Durant or the significantly bigger Ibaka, and F Metta World Peace will have to come out of the blocks guarding the other. In the end though, there is a clear difference between these two teams. Durant and Kobe might be a wash, but aside from that, this game is all about the Thunder.
