The Hurricanes are going to be partying it up in Hawaii for the week, and they have to be careful not to get drawn in by the glitz and glamour that our 50th state offers up. Head Coach Jim Larranaga and the gang have a talented team, led by the likes of C Reggie Johnson, G Kenny Kadji, and G Durand Scott. However, the Warriors aren’t a joke. C Vander Joaquim is a big man, and he is one of the four players on this team that are averaging over 6.0 boards per game. The Warriors in fact, rank 11th in the nation in rebounding. F Christian Standhardinger is good enough to play on a lot of teams in the country as a start, and he really takes care of the basketball and can light it up on the scoreboard. “The U” is going to have to be careful in this one, or this could turn out to be a game very similar to the one that Illinois nearly lost to Hawaii just prior to the Maui Invitational.
