NHL Betting Odds: Kings -130
Blackhawks vs. Kings NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Blackhawks Lead Series 2-0

Bovada NHL PlayoffsBoth the Eastern Conference Finals and the Western Conference Finals have been one-sided over the course of the first two games of each series. In this case though, the Kings are coming back home, as opposed to the Penguins, who have to go on the road. Chicago has put six pucks past G Jonathan Quick on Saturday and Sunday, but terms should be a little bit more level now. The Kings were in a tremendously bad spot coming into Games 1 and 2 in the Windy City. They only essentially had one day to prepare for the team that won the Presidents’ Trophy, and they had to travel across the country as well. They played games on back to back days as well for the first time in this postseason. Now, both of these teams have played two games, and they are both going to have to fly from Chicago to LA. This is the first time that these two teams are going to be playing at the Staples Center since the very first game of the season, and on that day, Quick was lit up for five goals early on and didn’t ultimately figure out how to get into the game. We have to think that this is the time that Quick is finally going to shine. He is the better of these two goalies, and he can still win this game all by himself.

Blackhawks vs. Kings Game 3 Pick: Los Angeles Kings -130
Blackhawks at Kings Score Prediction: Los Angeles 2 – Chicago 1

Series Tied 3-3

All of the pressure in the world is on the Heat right now, and F LeBron James is going to have no choice but to put this team on his back and carry it to the NBA Finals this year. G Dwyane Wade and G Chris Bosh have been nowhere to be found, and the argument could be made that the second and third best players in this series for the Heat have been F Udonis Haslem and C Chris Andersen. Even with those two playing out of their minds though, the argument could be made that the Pacers are playing the better team basketball. Indiana is rebounding the ball, it is playing the better half-court defense, and it is shining in every way that it has had to in order to force this series to a pivotal Game 7. Can Indiana really pull this one off? We don’t believe that the bench has the depth to be able to do it in the end. However, the Heat are going to get the scare of their lives in this game. LeBron will eventually take over and find a way to win it, perhaps in the most dramatic fashion possible, but there is no way that we are laying seven points in a Game 7, even if the team laying the points is Miami.

Pacers @ Heat Game 7 Pick: Indiana Pacers +7
Pacers @ Heat Game 7 Score Prediction: Heat 94 – Pacers 92

Our Boston Bruins at Pittsburgh Penguins Game 2 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Monday night fight here in the second season.

Game 2 Picks: Boston Bruins at Pittsburgh Penguins
Date: Monday, June 3rd, 8:00 ET
Location: Consol Energy Arena, Pittsburgh, PA
NHL Betting Odds: Penguins -190
Bruins vs. Penguins NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Bruins Lead Series 1-0

NHL BookmakerMany figured that the Penguins were going to be the dominating team in the Eastern Conference Finals, but in Game 1, that most certainly wasn’t the case. Pittsburgh definitely didn’t play its best game of hockey in the first game of this series against the Bruins, knowing that it didn’t ultimately find a way to score a goal. The team was frustrated all night long, not only failing to beat G Tuukka Rask, but losing in the playoff circle and taking dumb penalties as well. The Penguins are a heck of a lot better than they played in Game 1, but C Sidney Crosby and C Evgeni Malkin, who averaged almost three points per game between them, only managed their way onto the stat sheet thanks to the nine penalty minutes that they took. Boston though, has been remarkable. The team put together three goals in the first game against a defensive team that has generally been fairly good, though no great. RW Nathan Horton had his hands in all three of the Boston goals, while C David Krejci scored the first two goals of the game. The Bruins were the better of the two teams on the ice in Game 1, and we have a real feeling that they are going to continue to be the better team in the series. It’s almost laughable that they are the +170 underdogs in this game after winning Game 1 so easily.

Bruins vs. Penguins Game 2 Pick: Boston Bruins +170
Game 2 Bruins vs. Penguins Predictions: Boston 3 – Pittsburgh 2

Blackhawks Lead Series 1-0

5DimesThe Blackhawks weren’t a flawless team by any stretch of the imagination on Saturday night, but they did get the job done and won 2-1. The Hawks got two goals from their top stars, RW Marian Hossa and LW Patrick Sharp, and they clearly were the better of the two teams. Chicago outshot the Kings 17-2 in the very first period of the Western Conference Finals, and it was very unfortunate not to be ahead in the game. Instead, RW Justin Williams scored a goal for the Kings on one of the two shots that they took, and G Jonathan Quick was a pillar in the pipes. Los Angeles knows that it has all sorts of problems right now if it can’t generate some more offense. It did get better as the game went on, while Quick continued to have a good game in spite of the fact that he got the loss. The Blackhawks fired off 36 shots, 31 of which came in the first period. Still, we think that Quick has the ability to get the job done all by himself, and we have a tough time believing that the Kings aren’t going to be able to get out of the Windy City with a split of these first two games. It would probably be a very deserving result.

Kings vs. Blackhawks Game 2 Pick: Los Angeles Kings +140
Kings at Blackhawks Game 2 Predictions: Kings 2 – Blackhawks 1

The Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers are going to square off in Game 6 of their playoff series in a crucial NBA betting affair on June 1st. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Saturday.

NBA Predictions: Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers
Date: Saturday, June 1st, 8:30 ET
Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
NBA Betting Odds: Miami -2.5
Heat vs. Pacers NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Heat Lead Series 3-2

Prior to Game 3, we said that the Heat were probably going to find a way to win two of the three games that were to be played here at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, and we are going to stick with that theory. F LeBron James really woke up in Game 5, and he carried Miami to victory in a game that was touch and go for just a little bit before the king took over. What’s notable about the Game 5 win is that it came in a style in which the Pacers really wanted to play. The pace of the game was very slow, and the game was so chippy that, F Chris Andersen ended up getting suspended for this game. Don’t discount what that means to the Heat. That being said though, F Udonis Haslem has been remarkable in this series, and he is going to be the man that has to step it up in the Birdman’s absence. Miami still has the better of these two teams, and we think that it has better than a 50/50 chance of ending this series on Saturday night in Indianapolis. Get ready, San Antonio. The Heat are coming to get you.

Heat @ Pacers Game 6 Pick: Miami Heat -2.5
Heat @ Pacers Score Prediction: Miami 93 – Pacers 90

Series Tied 0-0

Bovada NHL PlayoffsHere’s another case where we have a team, that is heavily favored against a team that really is good enough to ultimately win a series all by himself. G Tuukka Rask isn’t quite as good say, G Jonathan Quick or anything like that, but he is better than G Tomas Vokoun. We are convinced that at some point, Vokoun is going to fall apart in this series, and we really see it coming. The Pittsburgh offense is out of this world, and there is no doubt that the combination of C Sidney Crosby, C Evgeni Malkin, and all of the rest of the superstars on this club will put some goals on the board. However, if the number is down to just two or so, which would still be good by postseason standards, what will happen? That’s when we have some real questions. The Penguins haven’t won a game in the playoffs in which they have scored fewer than four goals, and that’s a remarkable happening for a team that already has eight wins. You’re not going to beat the Bruins this way in all likelihood, especially knowing that Rask has come to play, allowing two goals or fewer in four of his five games last round against the New York Rangers. We like Boston in this series.

Bruins vs. Penguins Game 1 Pick: Boston Bruins +160
Bruins at Penguins Score Prediction: Boston 3 – Pittsburgh 2

Date: Saturday, June 1st, 5:00 ET

Series Tied 0-0

NHL BookmakerMany are just assuming that the Blackhawks are going to get the job done here early in this series, especially knowing that the Kings have only won one road game all postseason long in two rounds. However, we aren’t all that sure that’s the case. Chicago had to scratch and claw just to figure out how to beat the Detroit Red Wings last round, and we think that the fight that it had to put up is ultimately going to take a little something out of it, especially early in this series. The one constant that we have seen over the course of these playoffs, more so than any other constant, is that G Jonathan Quick has been amazing. He has allowed just 11 goals in his last eight games, and he is going to be playing against an offense that, at times, has been a lot more suspect than its regular season numbers suggest. Quick was beaten and beaten badly twice by the Blackhawks this year, and he isn’t going to forget about it. Don’t be all that shocked if he comes out with guns blazing tonight to put away the boys from the Windy City in the form of a shutout.

Kings vs. Blackhawks Game 1 Pick: Los Angeles Kings +140
Game 1 Kings vs. Blackhawks Predictions: Los Angeles 2 – Chicago 0

Series Tied 2-2

The Pacers have taken every single shot that the Heat could give them in this series, and the argument could be made that they should be up 3-1 instead of level at 2-2. However, there are some real issues that are going to need to be addressed by Head Coach Frank Vogel going forward. Tonight, F LeBron James isn’t going to foul out, and you can bet that he is going to be playing his best basketball out of anger, if nothing else. Indiana has really done a good job on him over the course of this series, and he feels like he is due for one of these 45 point nights. Indiana has to get its benched worked out as well, as it cannot afford to just try to run with the Heat without getting some quality minutes out of some bench guys. It just isn’t good enough at this point. Miami is too good of a team to get challenged for a third straight time at home. Colin Cowherd said on his show yesterday that the Pacers either win, or they get blown out, and we have seen that a number of times before. We saw it in Game 3, and we think that we are going to see it again in Game 5. There is a point that Miami has to stop screwing around and has to take this series over, and we think that it is at that point.

Pacers @ Heat Game 5 Pick: Miami Heat -7.5
Pacers @ Heat Game 5 Score Prediction: Heat 99 – Pacers 90

Bovada Basketball
Heat Lead Series 2-1

The Pacers are only down 2-1 in this best-of-seven series, and we have seen a number of teams that have lost Game 3 come back to win series in the past. However, this is a much different feeling at the moment, and to us, this series seems to be said and done with. Indiana led 2-1 last year when these two teams played Game 4 in this very same venue, and on that night, the Heat scored a 101-93 win. The series was never even remotely close again. It almost feels like what happened in Game 4 last year happened in Game 3 this year, and the end result will probably be the same: The Pacers aren’t going to win another game in this series. We don’t think that the oddsmakers adjusted nearly enough in this one, going from a pick ‘em spread to a spread of -2, and that’s far too close to a pick for our tastes to want to back Indiana. It almost feels as though you would just be hoping for the Pacers to cover if you backed them on the NBA odds. You know that if you take the Heat, you’re getting the better of these two teams and a team that you can trust to either come straight out of the blocks with their hair on fire, or even come from behind if need be. Miami can win either an offensive game or a defensive game, and the formula has to be right for Indiana. Heck, the formula really wasn’t bad in Game 3 for the Pacers, and they were beaten by 18 points. This one might be almost as bad.

Heat @ Pacers Game 4 Pick: Miami Heat -2
Heat @ Pacers Game 4 Prediction: Heat 99 – Pacers 88

Spurs Lead Series 3-0

Head Coach Gregg Popovich managed to do an entire interview between the first and second quarters of Game 3 in one word. He just had to repeat the word “turnovers” twice. That got the point across. Once San Antonio started to take care of the basketball, it was clear that this game was going to get a heck of a lot closer even though it was once a 17-point game. Alas, by the third quarter, the Spurs had the lead, and even though the game went to overtime, once the five minute period started, there was never a doubt as to who was going to win the game. The bottom line here is that G Tony Parker is a lot better than G Mike Conley Jr., and the play of F Tim Duncan has been good enough to offset the play of both F Zach Randolph and C Marc Gasol. With that being the case, the rest of the role players for the Spurs are significantly better than the rest of the role players for the Grizzlies, and we all see it. This series is finished. No matter how well the Grizz play defensively, they probably aren’t going to win this game more often than not, and if that’s the case, we know that we want the men in silver and black on our side.

Spurs @ Grizzlies Game 4 Pick: San Antonio Spurs +2.5
Spurs @ Grizzlies Game 4 Score Prediction: Spurs 90 – Grizzlies 85

5Dimes
Spurs Lead Series 2-0

We’re really not all that sure why the oddsmakers are under the belief that Memphis is a better team than San Antonio is, and it is a thought that has been troubling us for quite some time in this series. The Grizzlies might have the better game plan, but they don’t have the experience at this level, and they don’t have the better shooters. They are literally going to have to grind their way to wins when push comes to shove, and against the Spurs, that generally isn’t the greatest of game plans. Take away a bad stretch in the fourth quarter in Game 2, and San Antonio really has dominated this series. Memphis hasn’t gotten to 90 points in a game yet in this series, and that’s saying something, knowing that the Spurs play at a bit of a quicker pace that the Grizz would like to be playing at. In the end, this is a game in which the Grizzlies are going to have to score around 95 points or so if they want to cover. Do they really have the ability to do that? We just don’t think so when push comes to shove. This is one of these games that seems like a foregone conclusion to be going to Memphis, but we think that in the end, the Spurs are going to ultimately take a chokehold of this series and go up 3-0.

Spurs @ Grizzlies Game 3 Pick: San Antonio Spurs +5.5
Spurs @ Grizzlies Game 3 Score Prediction: Spurs 94 – Grizzlies 89

NBA Predictions: Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers
Date: Sunday, May 26th, 8:30 ET

NBA Betting Odds: Indiana PK
Heat vs. Pacers NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Series Tied 1-1

The Pacers have earned their split over the course of their first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat, and winning a game in South Beach is no easy task. Now, the series shifts back to Indianapolis, just as it did last season with these two teams level at a game apiece. This is where Indiana really has to put its foot on the gas pedal. We know that F LeBron James is going to be the most devastating man on the floor and the toughest to stop, but we also know that no one for Miami has been able to stop C Roy Hibbert yet either. Hibbert scored 29 points and had 10 boards in Game 2, and he was one of the five players that the Pacers put into double digits in scoring. The fear that we have is the James can take a game over all by himself and ultimately turn out to beat another very good team with no help whatsoever. Indiana has to make this a team effort. That being said, the window of opportunity is most certainly open at this point for the Pacers, as they ultimately try to figure out how to get the job done against the supposedly unbeatable Heat. We probably won’t be sticking with Indiana for the rest of this series, but we’re believers for now, and we think that the Heat are in some serious trouble and could fall behind 2-1 on Sunday night.

Heat @ Pacers Game 3 Pick: Indiana Pacers PK
Heat @ Pacers Score Prediction: Indiana 88 – Miami 87
