On Tuesday, there are a handful of games on the basketball television schedule that we have circled that should be good ones. Check out our NBA picks for Tuesday!

NBA Matchup: Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics
Date: Tuesday, April 24th, 8:00 ET
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NBA Betting Odds: Off The Board
NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Talk about a game that is just going to be impossible at this point. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh are all likely to sit out for the Heat, while Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen are both going to like miss this one for the Celtics. That being said, the choice in this one is very simple, knowing that the possibility is there for at least a tad bit of star power with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to be on the court for Boston. In the end, the Heat have a support team around those three stars that closely resembles the lineup for the Charlotte Bobcats, and that’s generally not all that good of a thing. Take Boston and run once an NBA point spread comes out for this game.

NBA Pick: Boston Celtics

NBA Matchup: Phoenix Suns @ Utah Jazz
Date: Tuesday, April 24th, 10:30 ET
Location: Energy Solutions Arena, Salt Lake City, UT
NBA Betting Odds: Utah -4
NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Now, we have the consummate do or die game to work with. For the Suns, this game is truly an all or nothing type of affair. A victory, and they are in the driver’s seat for the last playoff spot available in either conference. A loss, and their season is over. Utah knows that it has two roads to still get into the playoffs (winning this game or getting a Phoenix loss on Wednesday and a win over the Blazers in its final game of the season on Thursday). That being said, this is a Utah team that is 23-8 this year at home, and there is no reason to think that it is going to take its foot off the offensive gas pedal in this one. Josh Howard comes back to the fold for the Jazz tonight, and he’ll help make the difference in what will be a playoff-clinching victory on Tuesday night.

NBA Pick: Utah Jazz -4

Tuesday night’s NHL schedule is short with just one game on the docket. That being said, we are set to make our Florida Panthers @ New Jersey Devils Game 6 picks in what could amount to be the last time that we ever see the great Martin Brodeur in net in a game in his career.

NHL Matchup: #3 Florida Panthers @ #6 New Jersey Devils Game 6
Date: Tuesday, April 24th, 7:30 ET
Location: Prudential Center, Newark, NJ
NHL Playoffs Odds: New Jersey -160
NHL TV Schedule: NBC Sports Network, TSN

We just get more and more frustrated every single time that we see these two teams take the ice. It is clear to us that New Jersey is the better of the two teams in terms of talent, but in the end, we just don’t see it turning into success. It is almost like the Devils just don’t care to be here at this point, and Florida is really taking advantage. Give Jose Theodore all the credit in the world for posting that shutout in Game 5 at home. That might be the most important win that the Panthers have had since winning the Eastern Conference Finals in 1996. In the end, we think that the visitors have all of the value on their side in this one, knowing that the Devils just haven’t played with all that much gusto. Florida finishes this one off on Tuesday night.

NHL Free Pick: Florida Panthers +150

Two more teams are going to try to stave off elimination from the NHL playoffs on Monday night, and we are set with our New York Rangers vs. Ottawa Senators Game 6 picks and our Phoenix Coyotes vs. Chicago Blackhawks Game 6 picks.

NHL Matchup: #1 New York Rangers @ #8 Ottawa Senators Game 6
Date: Monday, April 23rd, 7:00 ET
Location: Scotia Bank Place, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
NHL Playoffs Odds: New York -115
NHL TV Schedule: NBC Sports Network, CBC

It is amazing to think that we have already had one No. 1 seed bounced out of the playoffs this year, and we might be on the verge of a second. The Senators have played a heck of a series to get to this point, where it can eliminate the Rangers, the top seed in the East. New York has had all sorts of problems trying to score goals in this series, including getting shut out in Game 5. Now though, the team has to come up big, and that generally means that Henrik Lundqvist needs to do the job. He has done it before, and we still think that he will do it again. Go with the Rangers at basically a pick ‘em price on Monday.

NHL Free Pick: New York Rangers -115

NHL Matchup: #3 Phoenix Coyotes @ #6 Chicago Blackhawks Game 6
Date: Monday, April 23rd, 9:00 ET
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
NHL Playoffs Odds: Chicago -150
NHL TV Schedule: NBC Sports Network, TSN

The Coyotes and Blackhawks have now played five straight overtime games, and it is amazing how similar all five games have looked. Phoenix has been up a goal in all five clashes in the third period, and at some point late on in regulation, Chicago has tied up the score to force OT. Three of the five goals in the sudden death have gone to the Coyotes, though the two that Corey Crawford allowed here at the United Center were a bit suspect at best. In the end, we think that the value is here on the ‘Yotes, knowing that these games have basically been 50/50 propositions, though nothing would really surprise us all that much.

NHL Free Pick: Phoenix Coyotes +140

On Monday, there are a handful of games on the basketball television schedule that we have circled that should be good ones. Check out our NBA picks for Monday!

NBA Matchup: Cleveland Cavaliers @ Memphis Grizzlies
Date: Monday, April 23rd, 8:00 ET
Location: FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN
NBA Betting Odds: Memphis -13
NBA TV Schedule: NBA TV

The Grizzlies are hot, while the Cavaliers are not at the moment, but if you look a little bit closer, you might see an interesting trend. Memphis has picked up four SU victories in a row, but three of the four wins are by seven points or fewer, and all four are against teams that aren’t going to be in the playoffs. The team has just one cover in its last seven games as well. Cleveland has gotten blown out of the water at times, but there are also games like the win over the New York Knicks in which the team has shown some spunk. We do think that the Grizz are going to keep this winning streak up, knowing that it is just a game and a half back of being the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, but we’ll take the nearly two full touchdowns on our side with the visitors.

NBA Pick: Cleveland +13

NBA Matchup: Portland Trail Blazers @ San Antonio Spurs
Date: Monday, April 23rd, 8:30 ET
Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX
NBA Betting Odds: San Antonio -13.5
NBA TV Schedule: NBA TV

Here’s a case where we know that a team is going to be out for blood. The Spurs were beaten by a whopping 40 points in a 137-97 loss to the Blazers at the Rose Garden in February, and they aren’t going to take this one lightly. A win ensures the No. 1 seed in the West, and it is going to take wins in all three of these final games in all likelihood to have a shot at the No. 1 overall seed in the NBA playoffs as well. Portland has just more or less been playing out the string for a month at this point, as its season fell apart just before the trade deadline and really hasn’t recovered. In this five-game skid, there have been three losses by at least 18 points. This will be another one to add to the bunch.

NBA Pick: San Antonio -13.5

Monday night’s MLB betting battle on the West Coast of note pits the Atlanta Braves up against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Check out our MLB picks for this clash of postseason contenders in the National League.

All Of The April 23rd MLB Betting Odds Can Be Seen Here!

2012 Baseball Picks Of The Day Record: 9-4 (+$840)

MLB Play Of The Day: Atlanta Braves @ Los Angeles Dodgers
Date: Wednesday, April 23rd, 10:10 ET
Location: Dodgers Stadium, Los Angeles, CA
MLB Betting Odds: Los Angeles -130
Baseball On TV/MLB TV Schedule: FOX Sports

The Dodgers are still playing incredibly well right now, and we think that this is a great spot to back them once again on the MLB betting lines. Jair Jurrjens is the man that is going to be on the bump for the Braves, and that’s not generally good news for their fans. If not for the fact that he has gotten just a slew of run support, Jurrjens would be 0-3 right now. He has allowed seven hits in all three of his starts, and he hasn’t even pitched into the sixth inning in any of those games. Jurrjens has an 8.10 ERA, and his velocity is way down this year as well. Meanwhile, Chris Capuano is going to be taking the ball from Manager Don Mattingly on Monday. He has been consistent, going 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA thus far this year. The lefty isn’t going to put up sparkling numbers on a week-by-week basis, but especially in this stadium, the fact that he is a fly ball pitcher isn’t going to hurt him all that much as it would in other parks. This is a great spot to back an underrated pitcher against one that is severely badly priced based upon his name.

On Sunday, there are a handful of games on the basketball television schedule that we have circled that should be good ones. Check out our NBA picks for Sunday!

NBA Matchup: New York Knicks @ Atlanta Hawks
Date: Sunday, April 22nd, 1:00 ET
Location: Phillips Arena, Atlanta, GA
NBA Betting Odds: Atlanta -3.5
NBA TV Schedule: ABC

The Hawks have more to play for in this one than the Knicks do in our eyes, and we think that it is going to show. New York now knows that it is in the playoffs, and it really doesn’t make all that much of a difference if it is going to be the No. 7 or No. 8 seed. The Hawks are still fighting for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, and to be quite honest, we think that they are the better team and the better team by quite a healthy margin. Amare Stoudemire is back in the fold, and that really seems to be hurting the Knicks, knowing that he and Carmelo Anthony both just had a miserable game against the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s going to be a heck of a lot harder in Atlanta.

NBA Pick: Atlanta Hawks -3.5

NBA Matchup: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Lakers
Date: Sunday, April 22nd, 3:30 ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
NBA Betting Odds: Oklahoma City -1
NBA TV Schedule: ABC

The Lakers and the Thunder have to face the facts that they are probably going to be playing each other in the second round of the playoffs, whether it be in the roles of a No. 1 and No. 4 seed or a No. 2 and No. 3 seed. Oklahoma City still has a massive chip on its shoulder, trying to get to the top seed, not just in the West, but for the whole league as well. There is just something about these Lakers that really concern us, and though they have one of the best home records in the league, we don’t think that they are going to get the job done against the Thunder.

NBA Pick: Oklahoma City -1

There are three teams that are trying to save their seasons on Sunday in NHL betting action, and here at Cappers Info, we are going to make our hockey picks for these absolutely imperative duels.

NHL Matchup: #4 Pittsburgh Penguins @ #5 Philadelphia Flyers Game 6
Date: Sunday, April 22nd 12:00 ET
Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA
NHL Playoffs Odds: Pittsburgh -125
NHL TV Schedule: NBC, TSN

The Flyers know that this is the game that they really have to win in this series. If not, they are going to be going back to the Steel City later this week on a three-game losing streak with no momentum whatsoever and on the verge of a total choke. The team is going to have to be on its game for sure in this one, and that means that all of the pressure in the world is on Ilya Bryzgalov. The question is what will be the leash be on Bryzgalov, knowing that he has struggled over the course of this series, his first here in the City of Brotherly Love. In the end, we just don’t think that the Flyers are going to be able to get the job done. This one is going back to Consol Energy Arena for a very improbable and tense Game 7.

NHL Free Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins -125

NHL Matchup: #2 Boston Bruins @ #7 Washington Capitals Game 6
Date: Sunday, April 22nd 3:00 ET
Location: Verizon Center, Washington DC
NHL Playoffs Odds: No Line
NHL TV Schedule: NBC, CBC

The Capitals are going to have a great chance to close out this series at home, and that means that the defending champs are going to be on the ropes. Boston knows that Tim Thomas is going to be the man of the hour, though he hasn’t had a terrible series, but he is getting outplayed by Braden Holtby, a man that is in just his second year and his first postseason. If this was a different team in a different situation, perhaps we would be backing the Caps at home. However, we just don’t know if this Washington team, that has a history of failing and is already on its second head coach this year, is going to be able to finish this one off. In the end, we think that this one is also going seven games.

NHL Free Pick: Boston Bruins

NHL Matchup: #8 Los Angeles Kings @ #1 Vancouver Canucks Game 5
Date: Sunday, April 22nd 8:00 ET
Location: Rogers Arena, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
NHL Playoffs Odds: Vancouver -175
NHL TV Schedule: NBC Sports Network, CBC

The Canucks have figured out how to extend this series to get back to Vancouver, which snaps a string of six losses in the team’s last seven games in the first round of the playoffs dating back to last year. Still, this team just doesn’t feel right at the moment, and we don’t think that the return of Daniel Sedin is really going to make all that much of a difference when push comes to shove. The Kings are just the better team in our eyes, and Jonathan Quick is going to come up with a big time effort to take care of the Canucks on their home ice.

NHL Free Pick: Los Angeles Kings +160

Saturday is going to be one of the busiest days of NHL betting action of the year, as there are a whopping five games for us to dig into. It should be great to say the least, as there are teams that are going to likely see their season come close to the brink. Join us at Cappers Info for our NHL picks!

NHL Matchup: #7 Washington Capitals @ #2 Boston Bruins Game 5
Date: Saturday, April 21st, 3:00 ET
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NHL Playoffs Odds: Boston -XXX
NHL TV Schedule: NBC, CBC

The Bruins are the heavy favorites in this one, and though we would love to take the Caps and the big time odds, we just can’t do it. Braden Holtby is only going to keep Washington in this series for so long. The Boston offense is going to wake up eventually, and when it does, Holtby could find himself under an avalanche and could be in a lot of trouble, especially if Tim Thomas remains as good as he has quietly been in this series.

NHL Free Pick: Boston Bruins -XXX

NHL Matchup: #6 New Jersey Devils @ #3 Florida Panthers Game 5
Date: Saturday, April 21st 6:30 ET
Location: Bank Atlantic Center, Sunrise, FL
NHL Playoffs Odds: New Jersey -XXX
NHL TV Schedule: NHL Network, TSN

We are really starting to wonder whether these two teams are on a lot more level terms than it seemed coming into the series. When Florida has been bad in this series, it has been awful, just as it was in Game 4 when it was shut out at the Prudential Center 4-0 in a game that was never really all that close. That being said, when the team has been good, it has been good enough to get the job done against the Devils. It almost seems as though Jersey hasn’t taken this series seriously, and if that turns out to be the case in Game 5, the team could be pushed to the brink of elimination.

NHL Free Pick: Florida Panthers +XXX

NHL Matchup: #8 Ottawa Senators @ #1 New York Rangers Game 5
Date: Saturday, April 21st 7:00 ET
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
NHL Playoffs Odds: New York -175
NHL TV Schedule: NBC Sports Network, CBC

The Rangers have to be quite careful in this game. They have really been the better team over the course of all four of these games, but they only have two wins and two losses. The Senators just keep fighting and getting the job done, and they have to be thrilled to still be in this series. There aren’t many teams that would be able to keep up with Henrik Lundqvist, who has been great in this series. We do think that New York is going to find a way to get this series back to the Great White North with a chance to finish things off, though.

NHL Free Pick: New York Rangers -175

NHL Matchup: #7 San Jose Sharks @ #2 St. Louis Blues Game 5
Date: Saturday, April 21st 7:30 ET
Location: Scottrade Arena, St. Louis, MO
NHL Playoffs Odds: St. Louis -XXX
NHL TV Schedule: CNBC, TSN

Whether it is going to be Jaroslav Halak or Brian Elliott in Game 5 is still yet to be determined, but we really don’t think that it is going to make all that much of a difference. The Blues have been the better team in this series, really the whole way, and save for that OT win for the Sharks in Game 1, they really just haven’t looked great. St. Louis won 30 games this year at home for a reason, and it should lock up its first playoff series win in over a decade with a victory over the weekend.

NHL Free Pick: St. Louis Blues -XXX

NHL Matchup: #6 Chicago Blackhawks @ #3 Phoenix Coyotes Game 5
Date: Saturday, April 21st 10:00 ET
Location: Jobing.com Arena, Phoenix, AZ
NHL Playoffs Odds: Phoenix -XXX
NHL TV Schedule: NBC Sports Network, TSN

How can Corey Crawford really come back in this series after giving up back to back overtime winners at home to the same man with very iffy goals that shouldn’t be allowed in OT in the playoffs? Ray Emery might be coming into this one, and if that turns out to be the case, we just don’t have all that much confidence, especially after how questionable he looked in the postseason with the Anaheim Ducks a season ago. Phoenix is just the better of these two teams, though we know that the Blackhawks definitely aren’t slouches. This has been a fantastic series, which goes without saying, but we think that it is a series that finishes up this weekend.

NHL Free Pick: Phoenix Coyotes -XXX

2012 Baseball Picks Of The Day Record: 8-4 (+$740)

MLB Play Of The Day: Miami Marlins @ Washington Nationals
Date: Friday, April 20th, 7:05 ET
Location: Nationals Park, Washington DC
MLB Betting Odds: Washington -112
Baseball On TV/MLB TV Schedule: FOX Sports Florida, MASN

There has to be a level of respect that has to kick in at some point for the Nationals. They are 10-4 and leading the NL East at this point, and they are going to be sending Ross Detwiler to the mound in this one. Detwiler is probably the fourth or fifth pitcher that you would want to be backing for the Nationals, but he is 1-0 with 0.90 ERA thus far this year and has some great numbers. The Marlins are a team that is overrated in our eyes, and we think that there is just too much respect for Carlos Zambrano in this one. Go with the Nats at home to take a bit of a statement game over Miami.

April 20th MLB Free Pick Of The Day: Washington Nationals -112

On Friday, there are a handful of games on the basketball television schedule that we have circled that should be good ones. Check out our NBA picks for Friday!

NBA Matchup: Boston Celtics @ Atlanta Hawks
Date: Friday, April 20th, 7:00 ET
Location: Phillips Arena, Atlanta, GA
NBA Betting Odds: No Line
NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

We’re big fans of the Hawks in this game. We know that Boston has played well of late, and we also know that it has done well in this series historically, but we just don’t think that it is going to get the job done on the road in a game that is going to likely end up determining which team is going to have home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs when these two inevitably meeting. We just don’t trust that the Celtics are going to take this one totally seriously, and it is going to feel like Game 7 of the NBA Finals to the Hawks, who badly need to have the edge on the home court to have a shot of winning a series with Boston in all likelihood.

NBA Pick: Atlanta Hawks

NBA Matchup: Los Angeles Lakers @ San Antonio Spurs
Date: Friday, April 20th, 9:30 ET
Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX
NBA Betting Odds: San Antonio -6.5
NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

Just three days ago, we backed the Lakers against the Spurs, knowing that Kobe Bryant was likely going to be out of the lineup. The end result saw LA get smashed on its home court, and now, Bryant is going to push his way back on the court in this one. He knows that this is a brutally important game for his team if it wants to win the Pacific Division, and if there is one thing that Kobe hates in this world more than anything else, it’s losing. You know that he isn’t going to go lightly in this one, especially after getting crippled at home just three nights ago. Take the Lakers and the points, but we don’t think that we are going to need them. LA should win this game outright in our eyes.

NBA Pick: Los Angeles Lakers +6.5
