Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals takes place on Sunday night, and here at Cappers Info, we have all of the best NHL playoffs picks you’ll find on the internet. The Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers will meet in Game 2 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Free NHL Playoffs Picks: New York Rangers at Boston Bruins Game 2
Date: Sunday, May 19th, 3:00 ET
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NHL Betting Odds: Bruins -125
Rangers vs. Bruins NHL On TV: NBC

Bruins Lead Series 1-0

Bovada NHL PlayoffsBoston has the right idea about how to approach the second round of the playoffs, and the approach isn’t all that different from the one that it had against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the opening round either. The Bruins are going to throw a ton of pucks at the net and see what sticks. Granted, a lot of the 48 shots that were put on G Henrik Lundqvist in Game 1 weren’t all that spectacular, but 16 of those shots came in just over 15 minutes of overtime play, and that was more than good enough to ultimately get the job done. As we saw it, the Bruins were the better of the two teams on the ice, and we are amazed that the oddsmakers don’t see it that way. If you take the value of home ice advantage on a normal night and don’t even consider the additional boost for this being the playoffs, the Bruins should be at least -140 favorites or so, even if they are only considered an equal team to New York. We didn’t see anything “equal” about Game 1, and that tells us that we are on the road to victory a lot more often than not if the Bruins are going to put forth the same type of effort in Game 2.

Rangers vs. Bruins Game 2 Pick: Boston Bruins -125
Rangers at Bruins Score Prediction: Boston 3 – New York 2

Horse Racing Event: 2013 Preakness Stakes
Event Date: Saturday, May 18th, 2013
Location: Pimlico Racetrack – Baltimore, MD
Runners: 3 Year Old Colts
Race Number & Post Time: Race #12 6:20 PM EST
Current Preakness Stakes Odds Favorite: #1 Orb (1/1)
Racing Form: Free Preakness Stakes Past Performances

Preakness Stakes Post Positions & Preakness Stakes Odds
1: Orb (1/1)
2: Goldencents (8/1)
3: Titletown Five (30/1)
4: Departing (6/1)
5: Mylute (5/1)
6: Oxbow (15/1)
7: Will Take Charge (12/1)
8: Govenor Charlie (12/1)
9: Itsmyluckyday (10/1)

We weren’t really all that wild about the Kentucky Derby favorite, Orb, and we aren’t thrilled by him here at the Preakness Stakes either. That being said, we most certainly realize at this point that we can’t take him out of the money. He is definitively one of the best two or three three-year old horses in the world right now after winning in the muck at Churchill Downs, and he is capable on winning the Triple Crown. That being said, there is no way that this should be an odds on horse, and all of the exotic prices are going to stink with him involved in them, and we think that we have a possible scenario where this all of a sudden could become a bettors race.

The key horse in this entire race believe it or not, is going to be Titletown Five. Is D. Wayne Lukas’ horse going to win the Preakness Stakes? Of course he isn’t. But what he can do is tire out the other frontrunners, which we expect to include Orb since he has the inside post. Go back and watch all of Titletown Five’s races. Seemingly in all of them, the horse(s) that came out to the lead with him were all dead by the time the field got to the final turn. This is a rabbit of a horse, and whatever jockey goes and takes his horse out to challenge Titletown Five at the start of this race is going to end up losing his (or her) mount in the future.

There is definitively value in playing the two major players from the Kentucky Derby that badly underachieved. It’s amazing to think that both Itsmyluckyday and Goldencents are featuring the exact same odds at the Preakness Stakes, in a nine-horse field with good weather expected, as they were in the Kentucky Derby. We know that both of these horses were total duds at the Derby, but we’re also willing to throw that race out. The weather was lousy and there were 19 horses running in the field, and for every single one of those colts, that was the first race of its kind. This one is going to be a lot more what we’re used to seeing in the prep races with just nine horses, and it should play into the hands of the horses that succeeded the most in those prep races.

We also have a bit of an eye on Govenor Charlie as well. Unfortunately, we don’t have a whole heck of a lot of races to look at when we see Govenor Charlie, but what we do see is a horse that was incredibly impressive at the Sunland Derby, and we have a horse that has a tremendous pedigree. We think that Trainer Bob Baffert knew what he was doing when he pulled Govenor Charlie out of the Kentucky Derby, and the thought must have been that he could quite possibly end up pulling off a big upset at the Preakness Stakes with a horse that few know much about.

JustBet Kentucky Derby

The race will be won in the first half mile as we see it. If Orb is out there running with Titletown Five and the fractions are incredibly fast, we have matters right where we want them. We are hoping to see all three of the other horses that we have mentioned, Itsmyluckyday, Govenor Charlie, and Goldencents not that far off of the pace. Goldencents might even be riding in front, which is where Jockey Kevin Krigger would love to place him as long as the clip isn’t blazing fast. We are admitting to be a bit afraid of Mylute and of Departing, but we just don’t like the prices of either of these horses. Closers don’t typically do all that phenomenally at the Preakness Stakes, as we have seen many try, but ultimately, speed racers and stalkers usually end up at the front of the field, and the closers run out of space and time. That’s why we’re taking Departing out of it, aside from the fact that we just don’t trust that the Illinois Derby field that he bested was anywhere near as good as the one that he’ll see here at Pimlico on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see where Jockey Martin Garcia, who won this race in 2010 board Lookin At Lucky will ultimately position this colt. If it’s at the front of the field, Govenor Charlie could end up on the board. We think in the end though, that he will tire out just a bit, but he’ll still barely finish on the board for the super. The best three year old colt in the world this year might be Verrazano, who isn’t running in this race, and many think that the best of the best is Orb. However, we aren’t so sure that Jockey Kevin Krigger doesn’t have the best of the bunch. Give Goldencents a clean ride, and we think that he will win this race at a tremendous price. In this race, we’re going to take a 1/2/8/9 box of both trifectas and superfectas, knowing if Orb does end up winning this race as he is expected to do, that we should still be in it with a shout with some of the other best horses in the game. Exacta prices won’t pay off well enough unless Orb is out of the Top 2, so be sure to take the value plays.

2013 Preakness Stakes Picks (Superfecta Pick)
#2 Goldencents
#9 Itsmyluckyday
#1 Orb
#8 Govenor Charlie

The New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers are going to square off in Game 6 of their playoff series in a crucial NBA betting affair on May 18th. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Saturday.

NBA Predictions: New York Knicks @ Indiana Pacers
Date: Saturday, May 18th, 8:00 ET
Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
NBA Betting Odds: Indiana -5
Knicks vs. Pacers NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

Pacers Lead Series 3-2

The Knicks really didn’t do anything phenomenally well in Game 5 to warrant sending this series back to Indianapolis for a Game 6. They only got 16-of-39 shooting from F Carmelo Anthony and G JR Smith, and they really didn’t play well offensively in the game. They weren’t the aggressive team, they didn’t end up getting all that many shots at the charity stripe, though they did keep their turnovers down. Game 5′s loss was all on Indiana. The team shot just 36.2 percent from the field and committed 19 turnovers. Yes, the loss of G George Hill was huge for the team, as G DJ Augustin had to step into the starting lineup, but the real problem came at the foul line. Even shooting 25-of-33 instead of 19-of-33 would have made Game 5 a game down the stretch, but the team alas, just couldn’t hit a shot from the foul line to save its life. Don’t be surprised if this is the game that ends it all, though. We just don’t trust that the Knicks are going to be able to go on the road and even remotely play with the Pacers. Indiana has a great team, and it is a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS thus far this season playing at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Tonight makes it 6-0 SU and ATS, and the conference finals will finally be set.

Knicks @ Pacers Game 6 Pick: Indiana Pacers -5
Knicks @ Pacers Score Prediction: Pacers 99 – Knicks 86

Our Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks Game 2 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Saturday night fight here in the second season.

Game 2 Picks: Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks
Date: Saturday, May 18th, 1:00 ET
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
NHL Betting Odds: Blackhawks -195
Red Wings vs. Blackhawks NHL On TV: NBC

Blackhawks Lead Series 1-0

NHL BookmakerWe really think that there are only two ways to go in this second game of this series between the Blackhawks and the Red Wings, and we’re going to take the road that generally only squares travel. Until Chicago cools off just a bit, something that we do think is going to happen in this series at some point, we are going to back it and lay the goal and a half for the potential huge payoff. The rewards are great and the risks are minimal, and for as long as G Corey Crawford is posting a sub-2.00 GAA, there is always a chance to win. Chicago has won more games in that 3-1 range than most realize, and we haven’t even seen this team really get going on the power play yet. The Blackhawks have the same number of power play goals for the entire postseason as the Los Angeles Kings had in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Thursday night. LW Henrik Zetterberg and the crew could come up with an inspired effort, and we know that betting against G Jimmy Howard isn’t always the best idea in the world. However, that 42-21 shot advantage really spoke loudly, and we don’t think that it was a matter of fatigue for the Red Wings that caused that. Chicago is the way to go in Game 2.

Red Wings vs. Blackhawks Game 2 Pick: Chicago Blackhawks -1.5 (+165)
Game 2 Red Wings vs. Blackhawks Predictions: Chicago 4 – Detroit 1

The San Jose Sharks and the Los Angeles Kings are going to square off on the NHL odds and betting lines on Saturday for Game 3 of their NHL playoff series. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our Kings @ Sharks Game 3 picks & predictions for hockey for what should be a great game on Saturday.

Free NHL Picks: Los Angeles Kings at San Jose Sharks
Date: Saturday, May 18th, 9:00 ET
Location: HP Pavilion, San Jose, CA
NHL Betting Odds: San Jose -130
Kings vs. Sharks NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Kings Lead Series 2-0

5DimesThe Sharks absolutely have to be disheartened about the way that Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals went. They fell behind 2-0 before clawing back and scoring three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead, and they held that lead until the last two minutes of the game. They won the faceoff battle 44-21, they were holding the Kings to less than a shot every other minute on average at that point, and they got production out of their top lines once again, something that was tremendously lacking in Game 1. Yet somehow, it wasn’t enough. D Brad Stuart and D Marc-Edouard Vlasic both scored goals in Game 2, but they aren’t going to be remembered for those goals. They’re going to be remembered for the penalties that they took in succession that allowed LA to go on a 5-on-3 power play with less than two minutes left in the game. Not only did the Kings strike once, but they struck twice to turn what looked like a near sure loss and turn it into a victory. Can San Jose really rebound from such a defeat? We think that it can, but we don’t think that it will. The Kings are starting to look a lot like the group that ultimately won the Stanley Cup last year, and the roster is largely the same. We want that group on our side more often than not on Saturday.

Kings vs. Sharks Game 3 Pick: Los Angeles Kings +115
Kings at Sharks Game 3 Predictions: Kings 3 – Sharks 2

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves are going to square off as a part of the 2013 MLB betting campaign. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our May 17th baseball predictions for what should be a great game on Friday.

Free MLB Picks: Los Angeles Dodgers @ Atlanta Braves
Date: Friday, May 17th, 7:30 ET
Location: Turner Field, Atlanta, GA
Dodgers vs. Braves Live TV: MLB Network

Bovada Sportsbook

MLB Betting Odds & Probable Starting Pitchers
Los Angeles Dodgers (Hyun-Jin Ryu) +130
Atlanta Braves (Paul Maholm) -140
Total: 7.5

The Dodgers are winners of four out of five, and we have to think that perhaps they have at least started to turn the corner just a little bit and could get back in the NL West race at some point. They have the man on the mound that could ultimately get the job done on Friday night in LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu. We think the world of this kid, and we think that he has a very bright future now that he is pitching in American baseball. He really only has one awful start in his career, and though his strikeout totals are down just a bit in his last two starts, he clearly still has a live arm that can strike out at least a batter an inning when push comes to shove. However, this is more a bet against the Braves than anything else. Atlanta is back at home where it has played great ball this season, but the team just lost five of its final six games on a West Coast trip that wrapped up two nights ago. We also don’t have any confidence whatsoever in LHP Paul Maholm. We think that this southpaw is consistently overrated, as he doesn’t strike out enough batters and often struggles when it comes to allowing walks. He has issued at least two free passes in five straight starts, and his 41 strikeouts isn’t good enough to counter that. We just don’t think all that much of the Braves at this point, and we think they’re going to get rocked on Friday night.

Dodgers @ Braves Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers +130
Dodgers @ Braves Score Prediction: Dodgers 5 – Braves 2

Our Ottawa Senators at Pittsburgh Penguins Game 2 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Friday night fight here in the second season.

Game 2 Picks: Ottawa Senators at Pittsburgh Penguins
Date: Friday, May 17th, 7:30 ET
Location: Consol Energy Arena, Pittsburgh, PA
NHL Betting Odds: Penguins -190
Senators vs. Penguins NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Penguins Lead Series 1-0

NHL BookmakerThe Penguins have already won three quarters of their home games this year, and that includes taking two of the three games that they played at home against the New York Islanders. We came into this series thinking that the Sens would find a way to take one out of two of these first games, but we are starting to become pessimistic about that thought and are going to shift the other way. The Penguins didn’t just win Game 1; they dominated it. They didn’t win the shots on goal battle, but they did win the battle of the quality chances, and they parlayed that into four goals which would never be responded to. G Tomas Vokoun is playing like a man with his hair on fire ever since taking over for the benched G Marc-Andre Fleury. Perhaps most important for Pittsburgh is the fact that its power play is on fire. The team has scored a whopping 13 power play goals in its last 10 games, including going 2-of-4 on the man advantage on Tuesday night’s Game 1. The Senators meanwhile, went 0-for-5 on their five shots with the man advantage. Pittsburgh has scored at least four goals in five straight games and at least three goals in eight straight games, and we have to think that it is going to win this game at least two out of three times to make us turn a profit.

Senators vs. Penguins Game 2 Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins -190
Game 2 Senators vs. Penguins Predictions: Pittsburgh 4 – Ottawa 2

We’re always trying to make the most money possible off of the MLB odds each and every night. Join us on Thursday, as we make our Detroit Tigers @ Texas Rangers free picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on the diamond.

May 16th MLB Picks: Detroit Tigers @ Texas Rangers
Date: Thursday, March 16th, 8:10 ET
Location: Rangers Ballpark, Arlington, TX
Tigers vs. Rangers On TV: MLB Network

Bookmaker MLB

MLB Lines & Probable Starting Pitchers
Detroit Tigers (Justin Verlander) +115
Texas Rangers (Yu Darvish) -125
Total: 7.5

It’s the really square thing to do, but we are going to have no choice but to make our MLB predictions on the ‘under’ in this game. RHP Yu Darvish has been remarkable. He has been allowing too many home runs, and the possibility is there that he could be taken out of the park again in this game, but in the end, he has struck out at least eight batters in six straight starts, and this should be no exception. Just getting Darvish on our side alone is appealing, but now throw in there the fact that RHP Justin Verlander is going to be the man coming out of the other dugout. Verlander has a sub-2.00 ERA this season, and he deserves a whole heck of a lot better than a 4-3 record suggests. This is going to be one of these games where Verlander just takes over as we see it. Detroit could win this game, and we would take Verlander as an underdog in any situation, but in the end, we think that the Tigers won’t be able to generate nearly enough runs to get the job done and get this one past the number. The ‘under’ is the safest play to make on Thursday night, as more often than not, there is no way that this game is getting to eight runs.

Detroit Tigers @ Texas Rangers Pick: Under 7.5
Detroit Tigers @ Texas Rangers Score Prediction: Tigers 3 – Rangers 1

5Dimes
Spurs Lead Series 3-2

Have the Warriors finally had it? They had their chances to succeed in this series over the course of the last several days, but they blew Game 1, and now they aren’t faring all that well with G Stephen Curry playing on bad ankles. It seems as though Head Coach Gregg Popovich has finally figured out how to slow down a team that has given him some really tough times over the course of the last two weeks. G Klay Thompson only managed eight shots from the field and didn’t take a single shot from beyond the arc. Curry only went 4-of-14 and 1-of-7 from downtown. In the end, the Warriors only scored 91 points. Granted, they could have shot the ball better from the line and made the game a bit closer, and men like F Harrison Barnes and F Carl Landry had great games as well. But then you look down that San Antonio roster, and you see G Tony Parker scoring 25, F Kawhi Leonard scoring 17, G Danny Green putting up 16, and we haven’t even talked about F Tim Duncan and G Manu Ginobili yet. This series is over with. The Spurs will put this away on Thursday night and move onto a date with the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference Finals.

Spurs @ Warriors Game 6 Pick: San Antonio Spurs -1.5
Spurs @ Warriors Game 6 Score Prediction: Spurs 103 – Warriors 95

Pacers Lead Series 3-1

Say goodnight to the Knicks. We just don’t see how they are ultimately going to be able to get the job done against a team that has dominated and has figured out how to put down the clamps defensively. The Knicks just aren’t adjusting, and they aren’t figuring out how to counter Indiana’s adjustments. As a result, it’s just the same old New York team. It doesn’t move the basketball all that well, it settles for a ton of bad shots, and it doesn’t hit the boards the same way that the Pacers do from one to five. Take Game 4 for example. New York took 11 more shots from the field than Indiana did, and the two teams hit the same number of shots and the same number of three-point field goals? The difference? The Pacers were +11 from the foul line. They got to the stripe 30 times as opposed to 14 for New York, and they won the rebounding battle 54-36. That’s how the Pacers went up 3-1 in this series, and that’s how they are going to close it out on Thursday night at MSG.

Pacers @ Knicks Game 5 Pick: Indiana Pacers +5
Pacers @ Knicks Game 5 Score Prediction: Pacers 95 – Knicks 91

The Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks will meet in Game 2 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Date: Thursday, May 16th, 10:00 ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
NHL Betting Odds: Kings -150
Sharks vs. Kings NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Kings Lead Series 1-0

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe Kings really got off to a great start over the course of the Western Conference Semifinals, but we really don’t believe that it was anything that most of the skaters had to offer. In fact, purely from a skating standpoint, we think that the Sharks were every bit as good as LA was. San Jose fired off 35 shots on goal against just 20 that it allowed, and it dominated the third period, albeit in a trailing role from down 2-0. D Slava Voynov has had an amazing postseason, and he continued it on Tuesday night when he scored his third goal of the playoffs, but the man of the hour is clearly G Jonathan Quick. Quick was the man that had to stand in front of all 35 of those shots, and he found a way to dismiss all of them, blanking the Sharks in the process. This time around, we think that we are going to see a bit of a different result. It’s not going to take all that much in this series for the Sharks to be able to win games, as two goals would probably do it on most nights, and three virtually certainly would. It’s easier said than done to be able to get the job done if you’re San Jose, but we think that there is probably about a 50/50 chance that it is going to end up winning this game by putting three goals up against Quick.

Sharks vs. Kings Game 2 Pick: San Jose Sharks +135
Sharks at Kings Score Prediction: San Jose 3 – Los Angeles 1

Free NHL Picks: New York Rangers at Boston Bruins
Date: Thursday, May 16th, 7:30 ET

NHL Betting Odds: Boston -135
Rangers vs. Bruins NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 0-0

5DimesThe Bruins and the Rangers both scored a whopping five goals over the course of their Game 7 triumphs over the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals respectively, and as a result, we are struggling to try to figure out what in the heck the oddsmakers are doing lining this ‘total’ at 5 instead of at 5.5 for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The argument could be made that G Henrik Lundqvist is on fire, and yes, it’s true that he has stopped 64 straight shots in two straight shutouts. However, he was only above average at best in the rest of the games in this series against Washington, and we don’t expect that he is going to be able to slow down a line that generated a whopping 14 goals over the course of seven games for Boston against the Maple Leafs. G Tuukka Rask doesn’t quite look all that right either. He was never really outstanding in the first round against Toronto, and he put the team in a bad spot by allowing goals on four of his 28 shots faced in Game 7 on Monday night. Simply put, the way that these two are playing right now, we have to think there is a decent chance that both will get to at least two goals when push comes to shove. This might be the postseason, but it’s not going to be a total slug fest in all likelihood.

Rangers vs. Bruins Game 1 Pick: Over 5
Rangers at Bruins Game 1 Predictions: Bruins 4 – Rangers 3
