ArenaBowl XXV is set to kick off this week, and the Philadelphia Soul and Arizona Rattlers are going to be doing battle in the chase to claim the Foster Trophy. Join us at Cappers Info, as we make our ArenaBowl picks and predictions for what should be a great ending to the 2012 Arena Football League betting campaign.

ArenaBowl 25 Matchup: Arizona Rattlers vs. Philadelphia Soul
Date: Friday, August 10th, 10:30 ET
ArenaBowl Odds: Philadelphia -1 (123)

ArenaBowl 25 Location: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, LA
ArenaBowl 25 On TV: NFL Network

This is going to be a heck of a battle between two teams that have had great seasons. QB Nick Davila and QB Dan Raudabaugh both had remarkable seasons, throwing for 115 TDs apiece. Both have had their troubles in the playoffs at times, but in the end, both have prevailed and made it here to the title game.

The Rattlers have massive score to settle after last season when they were beaten in the ArenaBowl on the final play of the game on their home turf by the Jacksonville Sharks. Those Sharks were knocked out of the playoffs last week by the Soul in tremendous 89-34 fashion. It was one of the biggest blowouts that the league has ever seen, and it was the most impressive display in playoff history for a team in the AFL ever.

The Soul have been machines this year. They have scored at least 55 points in all but one game, and they set the record for the most 60+ point games, 70+ point games, 80+ point games, and 90+ point games in a season to go with the fact that they averaged 68.2 points per game, the most ever as well. Simply put, this is the best team in the league. Arizona had all sorts of problems last week in its secondary after DB Virgil Gray went down, and though Gray swears that he is going to be playing on Friday night, after suffering what looked to be a brutal leg injury, we just don’t know if he is going to have the goods to get the job done against some of the best wide receivers in the league. Go with the Soul to claim their second ever ArenaBowl title in their return to New Orleans, where they won their first league championship four years ago.

AFL Semifinals Pick: Philadelphia Soul -1

The Semifinals of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Semifinals AFL Matchup: Jacksonville Sharks @ Philadelphia Soul
Date: Friday, August 3rd, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Semifinals Odds: Philadelphia -14.5 (113)

The Sharks are clearly the luckiest team to still be alive here in the playoffs. They had a 27-point lead against Georgia last week, and coughed it up in a span of just about a quarter’s worth of action. It was K Marco Capozzoli to the rescue though, as he booted a 51-yard field goal with no time left on the clock to take a loss and make it one of the most thrilling victories in the history of the league. Philadelphia meanwhile, is the best team in the league, and it really doesn’t seem to be all that close. The Soul are running up and down the field with ease at the moment, and even though they didn’t nearly have their best game against the New Orleans VooDoo last week, they were able to get the job done by two TDs. We need a bit more than that this time around to cover this spread, and we think that this is going to happen. The Sharks have had their moment, but they are going to end up getting blasted by at least three scores.

AFL Semifinals Pick: Philadelphia Soul -14.5

Semifinals AFL Matchup: Utah Blaze @ Arizona Rattlers
Date: Saturday, August 4th, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Semifinals Odds: Arizona -8 (118)

The Blaze and the Rattlers have played two very different games this season, as both teams were able to win and win big on the road. There is something wrong with the Blaze right now that we really don’t like, though. The team is just not scoring right now, and that doesn’t seem right for a team that featured a signal caller who smashed the record for the most TDs in league history. QB Nick Davila knows what he is doing right now in this stage of the playoffs, but we are concerned that QB Tommy Grady for Utah isn’t going to be able to live up to the hype. We aren’t going to be all that shocked if the Blaze end up winning this game, but in the end, we think that the hosts are going to put together a romp and get back to the ArenaBowl for a second straight year. This is an Arizona team on a mission right now, and we don’t think that anything, especially this Utah team, is going to get in its way.

AFL Semifinals Pick: Arizona Rattlers -8

The Quarterfinals of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Quarterfinals AFL Matchup: Utah Blaze @ San Antonio Talons
Date: Friday, July 27th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Quarterfinals Odds: San Antonio +3 (123.5)

The Talons are playing in their first ever playoff game, and they get to do so at home in their de facto expansion season. That being said, we just aren’t all that sure that they are ready for the big time in any way, shape, or form. QB Aaron Garcia did win the ArenaBowl last year, and he did it with a lot of his same teammates, but this Utah team really knows how to get up and down the field offensively. Expect to see QB Tommy Grady get passed last week’s struggles against the Philadelphia Soul to turn in a fine performance in what should be an upset in the Lone Star State on Friday night.

AFL Quarterfinals Pick: Utah Blaze +3

Quarterfinals AFL Matchup: New Orleans VooDoo @ Philadelphia Soul
Date: Saturday, July 28th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Quarterfinals Odds: Philadelphia -12 (117)

Be very, very careful, Philadelphia… The Soul have the best team in the AFL this year, and it isn’t even all that close, but this is a very dangerous first round matchup. The VooDoo have never won a playoff game in franchise history, and they are only back in the second season for the second time ever. They slumped into the playoffs on a three-game skid, and now they have to face the best offense in the history of the league. That being said, these two teams were tops at +/- for turnovers this year, and if New Orleans can hang onto the football, it only takes one mistake to sway a game, particularly at this level. We have a lot of confidence that if there is a team that can beat the Soul before the ArenaBowl, this is it. Don’t be shocked if there is an upset in the deck.

AFL Quarterfinals Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +12

Quarterfinals AFL Matchup: Georgia Force @ Jacksonville Sharks
Date: Saturday, July 28th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Quarterfinals Odds: Jacksonville -8.5 (96)

The Sharks have had all sorts of good luck in the playoffs in their history, and this should be no exception. They were able to blast Georgia last year in the conference title game, and this year’s version of the Force really just aren’t all that good. QB Bryant Moniz has been a waste of a starting quarterback, and he is going to easily be the worst of the eight that are on the field this weekend. Jacksonville needs to get to 50 to win this game, and we think that that will be an easy enough task against a team that just turns the ball over far too much to be successful.

AFL Quarterfinals Pick: Jacksonville Sharks -8.5

Quarterfinals AFL Matchup: San Jose SaberCats @ Arizona Rattlers
Date: Saturday, July 28th, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Quarterfinals Odds: San Jose +6.5 (115.5)

From an historical standpoint, it doesn’t get much better than this for AFL fans. The SaberCats and the Rattlers are the two most storied franchises in league outside of Tampa Bay and Orlando, neither of which are in the playoffs. QB Nick Davila and QB Mark Grieb have gone back and forth for the last two years trying to get the upper hand on the other. The first two games this year were both incredibly close, and both were determined by a single great play late in the game. In the end though, it is very difficult to beat the same team three times in the same season. With home field advantage on their side, we think that the Rattlers are going to be able to dispose of the SaberCats with one or two Grieb mistakes in what might prove to be the last game that he plays in his storied career.

AFL Quarterfinals Pick: Arizona Rattlers -6.5

Week 19 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 19 AFL Matchup: Cleveland Gladiators @ Utah Blaze
Date: Friday, July 13th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: Utah -15 (112)

The Glads really have been terrible over the course of the last few weeks, ever since they were asked to go on strike for a game that they would have clearly won against Pittsburgh. Now, the team is going on the road against a Utah team that has everything to play for and could end up being the No. 1 seed in the playoffs in the National Conference. Don’t be all that shocked if the Blaze come out and just put a big time beating on Cleveland, especially knowing just how crucial this home game is for the hosts.

AFL Week 19 Pick: Utah Blaze -15

Week 19 AFL Matchup: Arizona Rattlers @ San Antonio Talons
Date: Friday, July 13th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: Arizona -2 (117)

The Talons really have been playing well over the course of the last few weeks, and they now know that they are going to be hosting a playoff game in their first ever season as the Central Division champs. They are taking on an Arizona team though, that is playing well too, and this is a squad that still has its sights set on the No. 1 overall seed in the conference as well. The Rattlers have more to lose, knowing that they can drop all the way to No. 4 in the pecking order for teams in the conference with a loss and some more events happening across the league, but we just don’t think that San Antonio is passing up that chance to be the top seed in the conference. Go with the Talons to keep on rolling.

AFL Week 19 Pick: San Antonio Talons +2

Week 19 AFL Matchup: Orlando Predators @ Jacksonville Sharks
Date: Saturday, July 14th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: Jacksonville -13 (93)

QB Chris Leak is back in Jacksonville for the first time since he was traded by the team to Orlando two months ago. Leak had a great week against Cleveland last week at home, but this is a severely different story having to play on the road. When these teams met a month ago, the Sharks were absolutely dominating, but we just don’t see the desire to lay 13 with them here at home in this spot. Neither of these teams are good, but we do think that both teams can win this one outright. Go with Orlando and the points, but play with caution.

AFL Week 19 Pick: Orlando Predators +13

Week 19 AFL Matchup: Pittsburgh Power @ Georgia Force
Date: Saturday, July 14th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: Georgia -8.5 (98)

The Force know that they have to take this game if they want to be in the driver’s seat for the Southern Division title going into Week 20 next week. That being said, they are just a bad team at the moment with QB Bryant Moniz calling the shots, and we think that it is going to show and show in a big time way. Pittsburgh hasn’t been good for most of the year, but the team has been competent with QB Andrico Hines under center. Remember that Hines is a QB #2 for the Power. Moniz is a QB #3 for Georgia. This is a big spot to look for the upset. Don’t be shocked if Pittsburgh puts a big damper in the playoff hopes for the Force.

AFL Week 19 Pick: Pittsburgh Power +8.5

Week 19 AFL Matchup: New Orleans VooDoo @ Tampa Bay Storm
Date: Saturday, July 14th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: Tampa Bay Pick ‘Em (118)

The first thing that we must note is that this is a ridiculous ‘total’. Play the under for sure, knowing that both of these teams are going with backup quarterbacks. QB Steve Wasil at least looks like he has a shot of getting the job done for the Storm, knowing that he led the team to a perfect record at home (though a winless record on the road) while he was the starter over the course of the first three months of the year. The VooDoo aren’t so fortunate. New Orleans pummeled Tampa Bay the first time around, but we have to remember that this is the return for old Storm Head Coach Tim Marcum and the team’s former quarterback, now New Orleans Head Coach Pat O’Hara. This is a reunion of sorts, but we think that that reunion is set to go the way of the Storm. Tampa Bay needs this game to keep its season alive, and it will do just that.

AFL Week 19 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm Pick ‘Em

Week 19 AFL Matchup: Spokane Shock @ Kansas City Command
Date: Saturday, July 14th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: Spokane -7.5 (104)

Dr. Jekyll, meet Mr. Hyde. These two teams have been all over the place over the course of the last few weeks. Kansas City knows that this is probably its last home game in franchise history… though the fans really probably won’t care all that much either, knowing that the Command have had some of the worst attendance figures in the league all season long. Spokane has nothing left to play for this season but pride, but that pride should be enough to come on the road and win this game by a relatively comfortable margin, knowing that QB Matt Gutierrez just doesn’t have the goods in this league to lead a team to victories consistently.

AFL Week 19 Pick: Spokane Shock -7.5

Week 19 AFL Matchup: Chicago Rush @ Milwaukee Mustangs
Date: Saturday, July 14th, 9:00 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: Chicago Pick ‘Em (117)

Over the course of the last several weeks, Milwaukee has just melted down and has gotten itself knocked out of the playoffs in the American Conference. In the National Conference though, Chicago was eliminated last week, and it knows that it has nothing to play for but pride either. Still, the Rush are most certainly the better of the two teams in this game, and there should be a big time contingent going from the Windy City for this clash even though the season is over with. Look for a prideful Rush team to come out and decimate the Mustangs one more time in what amounts to be a bit of a rivalry game in terms of location, though the teams are separated by conferences.

AFL Week 19 Pick: Chicago Rush Pick ‘Em

Week 19 AFL Matchup: Iowa Barnstormers @ San Jose SaberCats
Date: Saturday, July 14th, 10:30 ET
Arena Football Week 19 Odds: San Jose -14 (117)

The SaberCats have been a wreck defensively, but they are getting two of their top defensive backs in the rotation once again, and that should help. The team does have something to play for, knowing that it can still get as high as the top seed in the conference, Iowa has a good history playing here in the Cats’ Lair. However, in the end, the horrifying offensive line for the Barnstormers will be what gets them clawed by the SaberCats in San Jose.

AFL Week 19 Pick: San Jose SaberCats -14

Week 15 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 15 AFL Matchup: Tampa Bay Storm @ Orlando Predators
Date: Friday, June 15th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: Tampa Bay -5 (96)

The War on I-4 is always expected to be a great game, but already once this year, the Storm have blown the Predators to bits, and we aren’t expecting anything less this time around either. The Orlando offense has just been putrid, and the defense hasn’t been all that much better. Tampa Bay is going to be returning with QB Nick Hill to the Jungle, and Hill was the Orlando quarterback for the last two seasons. You can bet that he is going to want to put points on the board in bunches in this one, and if he can his team to 50, Tampa Bay should easily cover.

AFL Week 15 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm -5

Week 15 AFL Matchup: Philadelphia Soul @ Jacksonville Sharks
Date: Saturday, June 16th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: Philadelphia -9 (113)

Are the Sharks going to be able to get out of their own way in this game? It’s tough to think that Philadelphia is going to be able to lay nine on the road, but the team has just blown everyone out of the water for the most part to this point in the season, especially while playing outside of the City of Brotherly Love. There’s no reason to believe that QB Dan Raudabaugh, one of the most efficient signal callers in the league right now, can’t figure out how to beat a Jacksonville team that just looks lost at the moment.

AFL Week 15 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -9

Week 15 AFL Matchup: Milwaukee Mustangs @ Pittsburgh Power
Date: Saturday, June 16th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: Milwaukee -3.5 (116)

The Mustangs know that they are on life support for their season, and this is a great spot in which to back them. Pittsburgh might have three wins this year, but two of those have come in a situation in which they were playing against teams that were in labor dispute situations. (And the other came against Orlando!) Milwaukee is as good of a team as there is in the league believe it or not, but the team has fallen upon hard times and a rough schedule. This, fortunately, is a massive reprieve and one that we should take advantage of.

AFL Week 15 Pick: Milwaukee Mustangs -3.5

Week 15 AFL Matchup: New Orleans VooDoo @ Cleveland Gladiators
Date: Saturday, June 16th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: Cleveland -6.5 (104)

The worst line of the week for sure. Cleveland is coming off of a game that it had to forfeit because the club put on a labor dispute and staged a walkout on its franchise. Now, the fans surely aren’t going to be showing up for a game like this one, even though it is a very important game in the grand scheme of things here in the playoff race in the National Conference. That being said, New Orleans is still a team that is whole, and it is still good enough to win the Southern Division. Go with the Doo on the road to pull off the upset, as they should be favored in this game, probably by a comfortable touchdown. We think that Cleveland is officially about to become a wreck of a team.

AFL Week 15 Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +6.5

Week 15 AFL Matchup: Georgia Force @ Chicago Rush
Date: Saturday, June 16th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: Chicago -12 (104)

Georgia kicked the crap out of the Rush the first time that these two teams played against each other, but we just don’t know if that is going to be the case this time around. Chicago is one of the best home teams in the league, and there is no reason to think that that won’t show when push comes to shove. We still think that the Force are one of the most overrated teams in the league, and we think that they are going to struggle offensively against what should be a spirited Chicago defense.

AFL Week 15 Pick: Chicago Rush -12

Week 15 AFL Matchup: Iowa Barnstormers @ San Antonio Talons
Date: Saturday, June 16th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: San Antonio -5.5 (108)

The oddsmakers realize that San Antonio isn’t nearly as good of a team as its record indicates. This is the first time this year that the Talons are going to be playing against the Barnstormers in this divisional rivalry, and it should be a good game. Iowa’s season though, is basically over, as running the table probably won’t be enough to get it in the playoffs. That being said, we’ll lay the points with the Talons and hope that QB Aaron Garcia can generate yet another great game in front of the hometown fans at the Alamodome.

AFL Week 15 Pick: San Antonio Talons -5.5

Week 15 AFL Matchup: Utah Blaze @ Spokane Shock
Date: Saturday, June 16th, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: Spokane -3.5 (131)

This is the highest total that we have ever seen in the AFL at 131, and it is quite justified, knowing that QB Tommy Grady already has 101 touchdown passes for the year, and Spokane’s offense is all of a sudden showing a real spark. We think that this is where the rubber is going to meet the road for the Shock, as they have a slew of tough games ahead. Utah is a good enough team to pull off this upset for sure, even going against one of the better teams that the league has to offer.

AFL Week 15 Pick: Utah Blaze +3.5

Week 15 AFL Matchup: San Jose SaberCats @ Kansas City Command
Date: Sunday, June 17th, 3:00 ET
Arena Football Week 15 Odds: San Jose -12 (103)

The Command have been a giant pile of dog poo for most of the season, and with QB Brian Jones calling the shots, it hasn’t gotten any better of late. That being said, the SaberCats have had a history of putzing around more or less against some of the worst teams in the league, and that could turn out to be the case this time around as well. Sure, Kansas City will end up suffering defeat, but from our standpoint, losing by 10 in a game that stays somewhat interesting the whole way is good enough for us.

AFL Week 15 Pick: Kansas City Command +12

Week 14 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 14 AFL Matchup: Pittsburgh Power @ Cleveland Gladiators
Date: Friday, June 8th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: Cleveland -10.5 (98)

The threat is there for a strike in the AFL this week, and the last time that we heard about this, the Power were able to pull off an upset against Orlando on the road. However, the guarantee has been issued that Pittsburgh isn’t going to strike, and Cleveland has a ton of players that are openly pro-Union. In the end, that’s all the information that we are going to need to want to back the Power over the Gladiators, as we really don’t know what time of shape the hosts are going to be in when push comes to shove.

AFL Week 14 Pick: Pittsburgh Power +10.5

Week 14 AFL Matchup: Philadelphia Soul @ Milwaukee Mustangs
Date: Friday, June 8th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: Philadelphia -6 (126)

More AFL strike talk… The Soul could be in the hands of the union, but so too, could the Mustangs. That being said, we tend to think that Philadelphia is going to be the team that actually shows up with its players, and though Milwaukee is going to be wearing the first ever throwback uniforms in the history of the AFL, we think that it is going to be whooped. In the event that there isn’t a strike, it is clear to us that we should be backing the Soul, as the Mustangs are just overrated at this point after beating up San Jose right here at the Bradley Center.

AFL Week 14 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -6

Week 14 AFL Matchup: Orlando Predators @ San Jose SaberCats
Date: Friday, June 8th, 10:30 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: San Jose -17.5 (115)

The Predators could be in a ton of mess right now. They are just a wreck of a team when they are playing with a full team, and now, they could be in the midst of yet another strike. If there is one team on Friday night that we know isn’t going to be striking, it is San Jose. The SaberCats are the real deal, and they have the best owner in the league in John Fry. QB Mark Grieb isn’t giving up on this league, and he isn’t giving up on this team, virtually the only club that he has ever known in the AFL. Orlando was catching 24.5 last week, and the team never really had a shot in the second half of covering that spread after falling behind by 45 points. We’ve got to go with the SaberCats.

AFL Week 14 Pick: San Jose SaberCats -17.5

Week 14 AFL Matchup: Jacksonville Sharks @ Georgia Force
Date: Saturday, June 9th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: Jacksonville-1 (98)

This is a big time game in the Southern Division, and we really aren’t too keen of either of these teams. The Force just don’t feel like they are going to make the playoffs, but the Sharks have seemingly been winning games with smoke, mirrors, an easy schedule. The question is whether the schedule is really still this easy by coming to the Gwinnett Center. We think that the answer to that one is an overwhelming “Yes.”

AFL Week 14 Pick: Jacksonville Sharks -1

Week 14 AFL Matchup: San Antonio Talons @ New Orleans VooDoo
Date: Saturday, June 9th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: San Antonio -2 (108)

The VooDoo are really starting to round into a contender in the Southern Division. San Antonio isn’t necessarily as good as this winning streak suggests. This is another team that we think is just not all that good, and we think that it is going to show in this one. The Graveyard is a tough place to go play football, and the Talons are going to figure that out the hard way on Saturday night.

AFL Week 14 Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +2

Week 14 AFL Matchup: Chicago Rush @ Utah Blaze
Date: Saturday, June 9th, 9:00 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: Pick ‘Em (129)

Chicago figured out how to get the job done against Spokane last week, but this is going to be a tough task as well on the road against the Blaze. What we know about Utah is that it is going to score a heck of a lot of points. QB Tommy Grady needs six scores to get to 100 TDs for the season, and for just 12 games, that’s a remarkable accomplishment. Chicago might not be quite good enough on offense to win this game.

AFL Week 14 Pick: Utah Blaze Pick ‘Em

Week 14 AFL Matchup: Iowa Barnstormers @ Arizona Rattlers
Date: Saturday, June 9th, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: Arizona -16 (117)

Didn’t the oddsmakers learn last week when the Rattlers only beat the Power by 10? Iowa is a heck of a lot better team than Pittsburgh was, and the Barnstormers know that they are going to need to string together a heck of a lot of wins to get into the playoffs. Iowa has the goods to win this game outright, believe it or not. This would be a nice moneyline shot on the Barnstormers, but obviously, the safer play is taking the points. It’s hard to believe that the Rats can win this game by more than two scores on a regular basis.

AFL Week 14 Pick: Iowa Barnstormers +16

Week 14 AFL Matchup: Kansas City Command @ Spokane Shock
Date: Saturday, June 9th, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Week 14 Odds: Spokane -16 (101)

QB Brian Jones is the man that is going to be leading the Command into this one, and we just don’t think that he is good enough, knowing that he is the fourth signal caller to give it a shot on this lousy team. Spokane is playing well right now, and though it was beaten last week in the Windy City, it should get back in the win column this week in very easy fashion. It’s hard laying this many points, but on the road, the Command just don’t stand a chance.

AFL Week 14 Pick: Spokane Shock -16

Week 13 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 13 AFL Matchup: Cleveland Gladiators @ Iowa Barnstormers
Date: Friday, June 1st, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: Iowa -1 (105)

Iowa’s season is probably said and done with after losing last week at home to Spokane. The truth of the matter is that Cleveland probably has a better team than do the Shock, and that could bode well for the guests. The Barnstormers just haven’t played all that well at home, and they have now had back-to-back terrible offensive games. The defense for the Glads should be good enough to get the job done, even on the road. Remember that Cleveland has done really, really well this year on the road, winning games in some of the toughest venues in the league.

AFL Week 13 Pick: Cleveland Gladiators +1

Week 13 AFL Matchup: Tampa Bay Storm @ Jacksonville Sharks
Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: Jacksonville -3.5 (99)

The Sharks are back to .500, and they could take the lead in the Southern Division if they can win this game. Tampa Bay has kept its perfect record intact… It is 6-0 at home and 0-5 on the road. Can QB Steve Wasil get the job done? It just doesn’t seem all that likely that he does, but if he doesn’t, the Storm could be bringing in QB Nick Hill, who was originally signed to be the team’s starting quarterback. Take the points with Tampa Bay, just knowing that if Hill comes in, the Storm are going to have the big time advantage.

AFL Week 13 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm +3.5

Week 13 AFL Matchup: Orlando Predators @ Philadelphia Soul
Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: Philadelphia -23.5 (106)

These two teams met a few weeks ago in Orlando, and the Predators went from up 47-27 failing to cover +13.5 on the AFL point spreads. Now, the team has to go on the road, where it has already blown a pair of 20+ point leads this year as well. The Soul have been suspect at home this year though, and the team often finds ways to blow games. Could Orlando pull off the upset? Of course not. But are the Predators good enough to stick inside of a 23.5 point spread? Surely.

AFL Week 13 Pick: Orlando Predators +23.5

Week 13 AFL Matchup: New Orleans VooDoo @ Georgia Force
Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: Georgia -2 (101)

QB RJ Archer has been in the lineup, out of the lineup, in the lineup, and out of the lineup over the course of the last four games, but he is back now. Does it make that much of a difference, though? We just don’t think so. The VooDoo have been massive underachievers this year, but this is a chance to make amends on the road against a Georgia team that, quite frankly, really does feel like it set to fall apart and fall right out of the playoffs picture altogether.

AFL Week 13 Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +2

Week 13 AFL Matchup: Utah Blaze @ Kansas City Command
Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: Utah -10.5 (107)

The Blaze have an absolutely atrocious defense, but their offense is still top of the line. QB Tommy Grady already has 87 TD passes this year, and he is destined to get back on track at some clutch point during a game. The good news is that that moment shouldn’t exist this time around, though. The Command have won two in a row, but we just don’t think that they have beaten a good team yet. This is a get better game for Utah for sure, and though we hate laying double digits on the road, we feel as though we have no choice. The Blaze will get to 55. The Command haven’t gotten to 50 in almost a full calendar year.

AFL Week 13 Pick: Utah Blaze -10.5

Week 13 AFL Matchup: San Jose SaberCats @ Milwaukee Mustangs
Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: San Jose -6.5 (125)

We really feel bad for the Mustangs once again in this one. They are a heck of a lot better than their 3-7 record suggests, but they’re in just a terrible spot again on Saturday night. OL Adam Tadisch is out of the fold for the first time, and the offensive line was atrocious against Tampa Bay after he was out of the lineup, and the receiving corps was beat up badly in that game as well. On top of that, San Jose is going to be playing on emotion. FB Johnie Kirton died after last week’s game, and you know that the team is going to want to be great on the night that all of the players will be wearing a No. 37 in his honor. Lay the points.

AFL Week 13 Pick: San Jose SaberCats -6.5

Week 13 AFL Matchup: Pittsburgh Power @ Arizona Rattlers
Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: Arizona -24 (114)

The Rattlers are the biggest favorites in the history of the AFL at 24 points, and there is definitely something to be said about this. Pittsburgh is the worst team in the league in our eyes, and matters are so bad that it had to fire Head Coach Chris Siegfried just before the team’s bye week. We definitely question what new OC Mike Tomczak can bring to the table, knowing that he has never had a thing to do with the AFL, but he is going to have QB Andrico Hines back, who might start in the desert on Saturday night. In the end, there just isn’t a team in the league that should be laying more than three touchdowns to any other team, and we think that new HC Derek Stingley could get a good effort out of his boys on Saturday to at least stick within a few scores.

AFL Week 13 Pick: Pittsburgh Power +24

Week 13 AFL Matchup: Spokane Shock @ Chicago Rush
Date: Sunday, June 3rd, 4:00 ET
Arena Football Week 13 Odds: Chicago -1 (125)

Spokane and Chicago are both fighting for the playoffs in the National Conference. The Shock have been the better team of late, getting the job done against some great teams all over the country. We still think that there is something really wrong with Chicago, but in the end, we think that it will figure out how to win this game at home. There is just too much on the line right now for the Rush, who are quickly starting to fall apart. They were good enough to win on the road last week at San Jose but got ridiculously unlucky, and if that’s the case, they should be good enough to beat the Shock at home on Sunday.

AFL Week 13 Pick: Chicago Rush -1

Week 12 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Spokane Shock @ Iowa Barnstormers
Date: Friday, May 25th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Iowa -1.5 (111)

The Barnstormers screwed us over last week, but it wasn’t their fault. QB JJ Raterink got hurt on the first play of the game, and the team was really just a waste once that happened. Now, Raterink is back in the fold, and he should be able to get the job done against the Shock. This is a game that Iowa has to win in order to stay alive in the playoff race in the National Conference, and we think that it is going to be able to beat Spokane, who probably needs the game just as bad.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Iowa Barnstormers -1.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Jacksonville Sharks @ Orlando Predators
Date: Friday, May 25th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Jacksonville -4.5 (92)

Boy, is this ironic! The Sharks are going to be starting QB Collin Drafts under center, while the Predators are going to be starting QB Chris Leak. Just one issue. Leak started the year as the starting QB for Jacksonville, while Drafts was the starting QB for Orlando. This is a big game in the Southern Division. The Sharks aren’t all that great, and they are having some major quarterback problems right now. We think that Leak, who showed some promise last week, will be able to get the job done against his old team to pull off the upset.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Orlando Predators +4.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Milwaukee Mustangs @ Tampa Bay Storm
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Milwaukee -2.5 (108)

The oddsmakers have badly screwed this game up. The Storm are 0-5 on the road this year, and they have been blown out of the water in back to back road games. However, at home, this is a totally different story. Tampa Bay is 5-0 at home, and it is going against a Milwaukee team that just continually finds ways to lose games. QB Steve Wasil knows that he is under the gun for Tampa Bay, knowing that QB Nick Hill could be back with the team soon after getting released by the Green Bay Packers. This should be an easy upset for the hosts.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm +2.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Georgia Force @ Kansas City Command
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Georgia -7 (89)

Goodness help us in this game. The Command came up with their first win of the season last week against Pittsburgh, and this might be a game that is winnable as well. Georgia might be on top of the Southern Division, but there are a lot of issues at the quarterback position, as the Force are on their third quarterback this year with QB Kevin Eakin calling the shots. Another upset on the cards? It’s definitely a possibility.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Kansas City Command +7

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Arizona Rattlers @ New Orleans VooDoo
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Arizona -9 (119)

The Rattlers are going to be under the gun in this one. They have to come across the country to the Big Easy, and that comes right after a ton of huge conference games. The VooDoo came back from down 20 points last week to take care of the Predators, and they have a shot to get back to .500 this week if they can pull off the upset. We don’t know if they will get the job done, but we do know that QB Kurt Rocco is going to be able to keep up with one of the best offenses in the league. Take the points.

AFL Week 12 Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +9

Week 12 AFL Matchup: San Antonio Talons @ Utah Blaze
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 9:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Utah -2.5 (127)

The Blaze have been absolutely atrocious defensively this year, including allowing 86 points to the Rattlers last week. The team needs to get back in the win column to stick around, and the offense is good enough to beat anyone in the league. QB Tommy Grady has 80 TD passes already this year, easily the best mark in the league. We still think that the Talons are winning with smoke and mirrors, as they had just 181 yards last week and really had terrible offensive numbers in spite of the fact that they crushed the SaberCats by four scores. This week is payback.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Utah Blaze -2.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Chicago Rush @ San Jose SaberCats
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 10:30 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: San Jose -10 (122)

There is definitely something wrong with the Rush right now, and they have played some awful ball on the road this year. On the West Coast, they have already been crushed by Arizona and Utah by massive margins of defeat. This is the first time in three weeks that QB Russ Michna is going to be playing for the Rush, but we don’t think that it is going to make all that much of a difference. San Jose is the better team and the better team by a heck of a lot. This is going to be the week that the SaberCats get back on track after getting romped in San Antonio last week.

AFL Week 12 Pick: San Jose SaberCats -10

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Philadelphia Soul @ Cleveland Gladiators
Date: Sunday, May 27th, 4:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Philadelphia -6 (111)

The Cleveland defense has been out of this world over the course of the last few weeks, but there hasn’t been a challenge like this one in quite some time. The Gladiators were able to go on the road and beat the Soul in the City of Brotherly Love the first time around, and finishing off the season sweep would go a long way towards getting this team into the playoffs. We just don’t trust QB John Dutton though, who is one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks in this league. Go with the Soul to get back on track after getting crushed in Spokane last week. Remember that Philly is easily the best road team in the league this year at 5-0.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -6

Week 11 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 11 AFL Matchup: Orlando Predators @ New Orleans VooDoo
Date: Friday, May 18th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: New Orleans -7.5 (94)

The Predators have been one of the worst teams in the AFL all season long, but we think that they are going to find their way into the win column on Friday night on the NFL Network. The VooDoo have just been finding ways to lose games these last four weeks or so, and they are lucky to be 1-3 in that stretch. Orlando is debuting QB Chris Leak under center this week, and he is the best quarterback that the team has had all season long. Go with the Preds for the upset on the road.

AFL Week 11 Pick: Orlando Predators +7.5

Week 11 AFL Matchup: Georgia Force @ Milwaukee Mustangs
Date: Friday, May 18th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: Milwaukee -8 (103)

This point spread bothers us. Georgia has won two games in a row, and now it has to come on the road to Milwaukee, where the Mustangs were just trounced a week ago by a very suspect Cleveland team. The Force clearly aren’t the better of these two teams though, and we think that the AFL point spread is justified. Milwaukee is our pick, but we are still wary of this game for sure.

AFL Week 11 Pick: Milwaukee Mustangs -8

Week 11 AFL Matchup: Philadelphia Soul @ Spokane Shock
Date: Friday, May 18th, 11:00 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: Philadelphia -8.5 (125)

The Shock are back in contention in the Western Division thanks to the emergence of QB Kyle Rowley under center. The problem that we have with Spokane though, is that a ton of players have been leaving for the CFL in recent weeks. Rowley might be by himself in this one, and if that’s the case, he isn’t beating the Soul, even if the game is played in Spokane, one of the loudest venues in the league. This is going to be a one-sided romp in favor of the Soul.

AFL Week 11 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -8.5

Week 11 AFL Matchup: Iowa Barnstormers @ Jacksonville Sharks
Date: Saturday, May 19th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: Jacksonville -1 (110)

The oddsmakers have lined this game as a tossup, and at least on paper, it seems relatively justified. The Barnstormers and Sharks have comparable records, and they are both struggling to find their ways into the win column. That being said, Iowa has played a tremendously tough schedule. Jacksonville… not so much. We prefer taking QB JJ Raterink on the road against the Sharks, who could be debuting their fourth starting quarterback of the season already in just Week 11.

AFL Week 11 Pick: Iowa Barnstormers +1

Week 11 AFL Matchup: Tampa Bay Storm @ Cleveland Gladiators
Date: Saturday, May 19th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: Cleveland -7 (102)

The Gladiators and Storm met a month ago in Tampa Bay, and the outcome was a severely one-sided game in which the hosts romped. Of course, what we have to remember about the Storm is that they are 5-0 SU and ATS at home and 0-4 SU and ATS on the road. That being said, we think that the Glads are being tremendous overrated in this game thanks to a road win at Milwaukee last week. QB John Dutton will be good for his two or three picks once again, and if that’s the case, the Tampa Bay offense should be able to generate enough offense to at least keep this game within a score.

AFL Week 11 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm +7

Week 11 AFL Matchup: Kansas City Command @ Pittsburgh Power
Date: Saturday, May 19th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: Pittsburgh -7 (95)

This will be the worst game of the season for sure. The Power and the Command are the two worst teams in the league, and in our opinion, this is the only shot that KC has of getting a win for the rest of the season unless it just totally sneaks up on somebody. QB Bryan Randall is the better of these two signal callers in our opinion, and if all else is equal on two lousy teams, the Power should be able to pull off the victory by double digits, just like everyone else has been able to do against the Command this year.

AFL Week 11 Pick: Pittsburgh Power -7

Week 11 AFL Matchup: San Jose SaberCats @ San Antonio Talons
Date: Saturday, May 19th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: San Jose -6.5 (116)

The SaberCats are clearly one of the best teams in the league this year, and they are going against a San Antonio team that has a lot of wins, but not a lot of quality results. A lot of these victories have come by close margins against iffy teams, and a lot of duels could have gone the other way. These two teams have already played once this year, a game that ended in a blowout for the SaberCats. There is bad blood aplenty here in this game, knowing that these two teams fought in the preseason to the point that the game had to be cancelled in the third quarter. The visitors are the better side though, and asking them to win by a touchdown, even on the road, isn’t too much to ask.

AFL Week 11 Pick: San Jose SaberCats -6.5

Week 11 AFL Matchup: Arizona Rattlers @ Utah Blaze
Date: Saturday, May 19th, 9:00 ET
Arena Football Week 11 Odds: Arizona -4 (127)

The best game of the weekend for sure. This is going to be the third straight week that we have seen San Jose, Arizona, and Utah involved in games against one another, and this is the last chance for the Rattlers and Blaze to get a win against any of the other teams in the Western Division. Utah stood toe-to-toe with San Jose for almost three full quarters before one stop caused the floodgates to open. The Blaze, in our opinion, are the better of these two teams. Arizona is only favored because of the fact that many think that this was the same team that was in the ArenaBowl last year. We just don’t see it like that. Go with Utah at home for the mild upset to put the Rattlers in a world of hurt.

AFL Week 11 Pick: Utah Blaze +4

Week 10 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 10 AFL Matchup: Cleveland Gladiators @ Milwaukee Mustangs
Date: Friday, May 11th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: Milwaukee -8 (106)

The Mustangs were favored by a heck of a lot less earlier in the day, but we still really like what they are bringing to the table in this one. Cleveland’s offense has been bi-polar all year long. Is this the team that struggled mightily against Tampa Bay a few weeks back, or the one that beat Philly on the road? It’s too tough to tell. The Mustangs are legit, and we think that they win this game by more than a TD.

AFL Week 10 Pick: Milwaukee Mustangs -8

Week 10 AFL Matchup: Utah Blaze @ San Jose SaberCats
Date: Friday, May 11th, 10:30 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: San Jose -6.5 (125.5)

San Jose has already been beaten by Utah once this year, and that makes this game all the more important. The Blaze are on the doorstep of something special, as this is their best start in franchise history. Last week, it was the SaberCats that went on the road and finished off the series sweep of a supposedly superior opponent. This week, Utah can do the exact same thing. We don’t know if it will get the job done, but we do think that the Blaze are going to at least keep this one quite close throughout.

AFL Week 10 Pick: Utah Blaze +6.5

Week 10 AFL Matchup: New Orleans VooDoo @ Spokane Shock
Date: Friday, May 11th, 11:00 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: Spokane -4 (106)

The Shock and the VooDoo are both playing decent ball right now, and both teams have the potential to put a lot of points on the board when push comes to shove. That being said, we prefer backing the hosts in this one to anything else. Spokane has looked like a lot better team these last few weeks with QB Kyle Rowley under center, and we just don’t know if New Orleans, off of a bye week, is going to be able to go all the way to the West Coast and stick with a great home team.

AFL Week 10 Pick: Spokane Shock -4

Week 10 AFL Matchup: Jacksonville Sharks @ Philadelphia Soul
Date: Saturday, May 12th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: Philadelphia -13.5 (123)

The Soul are still the premier team in this league, but this is now two home losses that the team has suffered this year. There is going to be a big time advantage in this one though, as the Sharks are going to have to go with Bernard Morris, their third different starting quarterback this year. Jacksonville isn’t even close to the team that won the Arena Bowl last year, and if that turns out to stay the case, the Soul are clearly the right percentage play to make.

AFL Week 10 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -13.5

Week 10 AFL Matchup: Tampa Bay Storm @ Georgia Force
Date: Saturday, May 12th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: Georgia -3 (106)

Last week, we backed Georgia on the road against a Pittsburgh team that we just think is atrocious, and it paid off. This week, we are questioning why the Force are really favorites at home, where an average of about 2,000 fans show up per game. The Storm haven’t won a road game this year, but in fairness, two of their tests were against Chicago and Philly, not nearly the easiest places to play in the world. The Force have no quarterback that is competent on their roster, and that will kill them when push comes to shove in this game.

AFL Week 10 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm +3

Week 10 AFL Matchup: Pittsburgh Power @ San Antonio Talons
Date: Saturday, May 12th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: San Antonio -10.5 (103)

The Talons looked terrible last week on the road against Kansas City, and now, they get to place one of the other three just god awful teams in the league when Pittsburgh pays its first visit to the Alamodome. QB Aaron Garcia is clearly the superior quarterback here, and we still really don’t think all that much of the Power. Go with AG back at home, even though he is laying double digits.

AFL Week 10 Pick: San Antonio Spurs -10.5

Week 10 AFL Matchup: Kansas City Command @ Iowa Barnstormers
Date: Saturday, May 12th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: Iowa -13.5 (96)

Somehow, we lived to tell about the fact that we bet on the Command last week, but this time around, we certainly don’t have the fortitude to do so. Iowa is a great home team, and we think that this is just going to be too easy for it to get the job done. The Barnstormers are legit, and they’ll take down another lousy KC team on Saturday night.

AFL Week 10 Pick: Iowa Barnstormers -13.5

Week 10 AFL Matchup: Chicago Rush @ Arizona Rattlers
Date: Saturday, May 12th, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Week 10 Odds: Arizona -7 (112)

Chicago got itself right last week when it was able to beat Iowa at home, and we think that that momentum is going to continue. The Rattlers are playing good ball, but there is still something that is bothering us about the way that they are playing. The Rush have had a great history in this series, especially of late, and we think that they are going to be able to go into the Snake Pit and pull off the upset.

AFL Week 10 Pick: Chicago Rush +7

Week 9 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 9 AFL Matchup: New Orleans VooDoo @ Jacksonville Sharks
Date: Friday, May 4th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: Jacksonville -3 (115.5)

The VooDoo and the Sharks are both going to be battling in this game, and they know that this is a tight game in the Southern Division, which is still wide open. New Orleans is probably the slightly better of these two teams in the end, and we really think that it is going to be able to go on the road and take a bite out of the Sharks in a big time clash on the NFL Network.

AFL Week 9 Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +3

Week 9 AFL Matchup: Spokane Shock @ Utah Blaze
Date: Friday, May 4th, 9:00 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: Utah -3 (119.5)

Spokane has played a heck of a lot better ball over the course of the last few weeks with QB Kyle Rowley calling the shots under center. That being said, the Blaze are still a 5-2 team, and they are one of those teams that you really don’t think of as an ArenaBowl contender. That being said, there is a reason that Utah is in such good shape thus far on the season, and in the end, we think that the hosts are going to be able to stop Spokane’s momentum in the Western Division.

AFL Week 9 Pick: Utah Blaze -3

Week 9 AFL Matchup: Milwaukee Mustangs @ Philadelphia Soul
Date: Saturday, May 5th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: Philadelphia -9.5 (127)

The Soul have proven that they are a potentially vulnerable team when they were beaten up in the first half against a bad Orlando team. Milwaukee has played well this year, but it has had a tough schedule. This is no exception. We do think that QB Geno Guidugli is going to have the potential to stick toe to toe with the Soul, and though we think that Milwaukee is going to lose this game, but it should be able to manage a single-digit defeat.

AFL Week 9 Pick: Milwaukee Mustangs +9.5

Week 9 AFL Matchup: Orlando Predators @ Tampa Bay Storm
Date: Saturday, May 5th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: Tampa Bay -6 (100)

This is the War on I-4, and it is going to be an intense game as always. The Predators really need this victory, and they are supposed to be turning the ball over to Chris Leak on Saturday night. It should be interesting, as Leak clearly has to be a lot better Justin Roper has been doing. The Storm are going to be under a lot of duress in this game, and the end result might be their first loss at home this season. We certainly want the points on our side.

AFL Week 9 Pick: Orlando Predators +6

Week 9 AFL Matchup: Georgia Force @ Pittsburgh Power
Date: Saturday, May 5th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: Pittsburgh -3 (100)

Yuck. The Force have failed to score even 30 points in each of their last two games, but the good news this time around is that they are going to be up against a Pittsburgh offense that has seemingly been conceding this many points to the opponents on a regular basis over the course of the last few weeks. Both of these teams have terrible quarterback situations, but in the end, we have to trust the Force, a team that has shown some potential, over a Pittsburgh team that has really failed to show a pulse for most of the year.

AFL Week 9 Pick: Georgia Force +3

Week 9 AFL Matchup: San Antonio Talons @ Kansas City Command
Date: Saturday, May 5th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: San Antonio -11.5 (97)

The Command have been brutally awful this year, and they are clearly the worst team in the league. That being said, there just isn’t all that much of a situation in which we see San Antonio deserving to be favored by double digits in a game. QB Aaron Garcia is good, and he is a heck of a lot better than anything that the Command can throw out there, but we just don’t think that he is 11.5 points better than anyone at this point in his career. Goodness help us for backing this god awful Kansas City team.

AFL Week 9 Pick: Kansas City Command +11.5

Week 9 AFL Matchup: San Jose SaberCats @ Arizona Rattlers
Date: Saturday, May 5th, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: Arizona -5 (116)

The Rattlers and SaberCats both enter this game at 5-2, and the winner is likely to be tied with Utah atop the Western Division. This is so much more important of a game for Arizona, which has already lost once in this series this year. That being said, the SaberCats, who missed out on the playoffs last year, know that there is blood in the water, and if they can come into the desert and steal an outright upset, they should be well on their way to being the favorites to win ArenaBowl XXV.

AFL Week 9 Pick: San Jose SaberCats +5

Week 9 AFL Matchup: Iowa Barnstormers @ Chicago Rush
Date: Sunday, May 6th, 4:00 ET
Arena Football Week 9 Odds: Chicago -4.5 (116)

The Barnstormers were absolutely blown out of the water at home against San Jose last week, and we are definitely wary over them coming on the road to the Windy City and sticking inside of such a short number. The Rush have lost three in a row after a 4-0 start to the season, but we still think that they are one of the teams to beat in their conference. Iowa already lost at home to the Rush, and though this is a game that it needs to win to keep in the Central Division race, we just don’t see it happening against QB Russ Michna and company. Expect the return for Head Coach Mike Hohensee to Chicago to be a rude one.

AFL Week 9 Pick: Chicago Rush -4.5

Week 8 AFL Matchup: Chicago Rush @ San Antonio Force
Date: Saturday, April 28th, 3:30 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: San Antonio -1 (113)

The Rush were blown out of the water two weeks ago by the Force, but we still think that they are one of the best teams in the league. San Antonio still really doesn’t look like a team that can contend this year, and in the end, we aren’t all that sure as to why it is favored in this game. Go with the Rush to trump the Talons in what could be a game that features a heck of a lot of points with these two veteran quarterbacks going at each other.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Chicago Rush +1

Week 8 AFL Matchup: Spokane Shock @ Jacksonville Sharks
Date: Saturday, April 28th, 7:00 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: Jacksonville -1 (115)

Had the Shock not been on a bye last week, we might have considered backing them. That being said, they are going to go with just one quarterback, QB Kyle Rowley this week, and that could put the team in a heck of a lot of trouble. Jacksonville isn’t the greatest team in the world, but the play of QB Omar Jacobs has been pretty good over the course of the last few weeks. Take the Sharks and lay the point.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Jacksonville Sharks -1

Week 8 AFL Matchup: Philadelphia Soul @ Orlando Predators
Date: Saturday. April 28th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: Philadelphia -13.5 (110)

First it was Collin Drafts. Then it was Justin Roper. Now it is Chris Leak that is going to be under center for the Predators this year. Orlando is coming off of its first win of the season, but its offense just isn’t good enough to get the job done against a Philly team that has scored over 60 points in all of its games this year. The Soul are clearly the best team in the league, and they are the only team on this side of the league that are above .500. It’s two touchdowns, and it is on the road, but the Predators are atrocious and are a wreck at this point.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -13.5

Week 8 AFL Matchup: Cleveland Gladiators @ Pittsburgh Power
Date: Saturday, April 28th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: Cleveland -2 (101)

How long could Derek Cassidy really keep this pace going? He has led his team to two victories, but his numbers have been absolutely ugly for the Power, to say the least. Cleveland really hasn’t had a great go of it over the last few weeks, including getting crushed in a few games on the road. Though this is a road game though, we still think that the Power have the worst team in the league. There’s no way that this point spread should be all that close.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Cleveland Gladiators -2

Week 8 AFL Matchup: San Jose SaberCats @ Iowa Barnstormers
Date: Saturday, April 28th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: San Jose -4 (113)

The SaberCats are probably an overrated team at this point, though we do think that they are still amongst the best teams in the league. The Well is one of the toughest places to play ball, and some of the best teams in the league have already seen that this year. We love getting the points in this game, knowing that Iowa is a lot better this year than it has been in seasons past.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Iowa Barnstormers +4

Week 8 AFL Matchup: Utah Blaze @ Milwaukee Mustangs
Date: Saturday, April 28th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: Milwaukee -2 (117.5)

Expect points to be on the board in this one for sure. QBs Geno Guidugli and Tommy Grady are both having great years, and they are going to be expected to put a lot of points up to make up for defenses that are shoddy at times. Yes, Utah has a great pass rush, but that’s about it. The secondary is terrible. Milwaukee was atrocious last week on the road in Spokane, and we just don’t think that it is going to be able to finish this one off when push comes to shove.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Utah Blaze +2

Week 8 AFL Matchup: Arizona Rattlers @ Georgia Force
Date: Sunday, April 29th, 3:00 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: Arizona -6 (105)

Which Georgia team is going to show up in this game? The one that beat the snot out of Chicago at home, or the one that only scored 24 points against Orlando last week and gave up 92 to Philadelphia three weeks ago? It’s a tough call to say the least. Arizona has brought in another great receiver with WR Markee White, and we think that he is only going to further help an offense that is just out of this world. Play the over as well, but we know that we are going to play on the Rattlers and lay the points.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Arizona Rattlers -6

Week 8 AFL Matchup: Kansas City Command @ Tampa Bay Storm
Date: Sunday, April 30th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 8 Odds: Tampa Bay -9.5 (104)

The NFL Network game was pushed back to Monday for the NFL Draft, but the game really is a bit of a snoozer. QB Steve Wasil was the quarterback for Kansas City last year, and now he gets a chance to take out his old team. The Command have been just woeful all year offensively, and we just don’t see it changing right now. Tampa Bay has played well at home, and it still has just as good of a chance to win this division as any other team. Play the Storm and expect a double digit win.

AFL Week 8 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm -9.5
