Sweet 16 Betting Lines
#6 Arizona Wildcats +3.5
#2 Ohio State Buckeyes -3.5
Over/Under 134

By all accounts, it really feels like the Wildcats should be able to hang around in this game when push comes to shove. Arizona has the tempo to be able to push the Buckeyes down the court if it wants to, and it is a team that has won a lot of games all season long against some of the best competition in the land. The fact that the Wildcats were able to survive games against Harvard and Belmont was the real surprise, knowing that they seemed to play to the level of their competition all season long. For as much as we really wanted to pick the Pac-12 reps that have been so good to us in this tournament though, we aren’t able to do in on Thursday. Ohio State is too big, and we saw on Sunday in the Round of 32 that it was able to slow down an Iowa State team that had just run roughshod on Notre Dame two nights before. If the Buckeyes turn this into a game played in the 50s or 60s, this is a game that it will win when push comes to shove. We don’t think that F Solomon Hill, although he is a great player, will be able to push F Deshaun Thomas out of his game, and if that happens, there is no doubt who the best players are on the court. The Buckeyes should be able to win this one with relative ease down the stretch, though we know that this time of year, there is no such thing as an easy team to knock out of this tournament.

Arizona vs. Ohio State Free Pick: Ohio State Buckeyes -3.5
Arizona vs. Ohio State Predictions: Ohio State 66 – Arizona 59

We’ve got our dancing shoes on once again here at Cappers Info, and that means that it’s time for the NCAA Tournament picks to continue. Our next set of March Madness Bracket Predictions take us to the West Region, where the #14 Harvard Crimson and the #6 Arizona Wildcats meet in the Third Round.

Third Round Betting Lines
#14 Harvard Crimson +9.5
#6 Arizona Wildcats -9.5
Over/Under 132.5

Harvard has become the sweetheart of this tournament after just one day. The Crimson wrapped up the night by kicking the Mountain West champs and the No. 2 RPI team in the nation, the New Mexico Lobos to the curb. Harvard shot 22-of-42 from the field, and it ultimately knocked down seemingly every massive shot that it had to make to win the game. Here’s what we aren’t all that sure about, though. The Crimson were dominated on the boards by C Alex Kirk and the Lobos, who ultimately put together a +6 rebounding edge, +10 of which came on the offensive glass. The Crimson turned the ball over 13 times, which was a lot considering the fact that they only put up 42 total shots from the field. Arizona was able to dispose of one mid-major team hoping to pull off some miracles when it took care of the Belmont Bruins in relatively easy fashion, and this will surely be the second one in the event that the team plays as well as it did in its first game of the dance. Everything flat out worked for the Wildcats, as they played great perimeter defense to hold the Bears down to just 8-of-27 shooting from long range, and they won the battle on the glass 42-15. We aren’t so sure that the final margin is going to be that devastating in the rebounding battle, but we do think that the lanky defense that Head Coach Sean Miller brings to the table is going to ultimately give fits to the Crimson. Harvard was a nice story for one night, but its flame is about set to be put out by a hungry Arizona team out of a Pac-12 conference that had a heck of a first day in the dance.

March Madness free picks are one of our top specialties this time of year here at Cappers Info, and we have another great one on the NCAA Tournament schedule on Thursday night. The #11 Belmont Bruins and the #6 Arizona Wildcats will meet in the Round of 64 in the West Region, and we’re breaking down the NCAA basketball betting lines for the clash.

West Region Picks: #11 Belmont Bruins vs. #6 Arizona Wildcats
Date: Thursday, March 21st, 7:20 ET
West Region Location: Energy Solutions Arena, Salt Lake City, UT
Belmont vs. Arizona Live on TV: TNT

Round of 64 Betting Lines
#11 Belmont Bruins +4
#6 Arizona Wildcats -4
Over/Under 140

Unlike with some of these mid-major teams out there, we have seen what the Bruins have the capability of doing against some of the best teams in the land. Belmont went out and scheduled the second hardest non-conference schedule in America. Unfortunately, we really don’t like what we see all that much. The Bruins were smashed by Kansas (by 29) and VCU (by 10), and it also suffered losses to Northeastern and UCF. In other words, we really haven’t seen the Ohio Valley reps prove much of anything at this point. Worse is that the team went just 13-6 SU and 6-11 ATS in road and neutral site games, and this could be a huge problem against the Cats. Arizona underachieved all season long, and everyone knows it. There is no way that a team this talented should have lost once, and it should have been twice to Colorado, nor should it have been beaten in games against Southern Cal on the road and California at home. However, we have seen Arizona flex its muscles time and time again out of conference. It destroyed a comparable Long Beach State team by 22 and blasted a UTEP team that isn’t that far off of Belmont by 21. Southern Miss was beaten by eight, and both of the top teams from the Sunshine State, Florida and Miami were beaten as well. The track record for Head Coach Sean Miller is pretty good in the dance as well. The last time we saw the Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament, they ran to the Elite Eight and only lost by a bucket to the eventual National Champion Connecticut Huskies. This Arizona team feels a lot like that one, and if that’s really the case, this should be a game that is comfortably won more often than not.

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Friday night. The UCLA Bruins and Arizona Wildcats will have it the Pac-12 Tournament Semifinals, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on the Pac-12 Network.

Pac-12 Tournament Semifinals Picks: Arizona Wildcats vs. UCLA Bruins
Date: Friday, March 15th, 9:00 ET
Location: MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV
Arizona vs. UCLA Live TV: Pac-12 Network

For the mass majority of the season, the Wildcats and the Bruins were the two best teams in the Pac-12. Neither had it easy on Thursday, as they were challenged by a pair of solid teams here in Sin City in the quarters. Arizona had the slightly easier route with a 79-69 win over the stingy Colorado Buffaloes, while UCLA had to fight back from down 15 points to take care of the Arizona State Sun Devils. It’s tough to beat a team three times in the same season, and UCLA is going to find that out on Friday night. The Wildcats are one of the most talented teams in the country, and they could be a horror to try to take out of March Madness starting next week. However, they really were terrible in two games against UCLA this season. The Bruins exerted a ton of energy to dispose of the Sun Devils, and part of the reason they were able to get the job done is because ASU had to expend so much energy the day before to beat Stanford. The tide will turn on Friday against UCLA, as Arizona marches on to the Pac-12 Final.

Arizona vs. UCLA Pick: Arizona Wildcats
Pac-12 Semifinals Prediction: Arizona 73 – UCLA 68

The Wildcats and the Bruins meet up in the best game of the day in the Pac-12. Arizona has a lot to prove at this point, as it has lost three of its last six games and is just 2-5 ATS in its last seven overall. The Cats just aren’t really getting the job done offensively, averaging just 69.3 points per game in that stretch. There have been some good defensive games, but there was also that 89-point outing just a few nights ago against the USC Trojans to discuss. G Nick Johnson is averaging 11.4 points per game this year, but he is on a streak right now of seven out of eight games scoring nine points or fewer, and that isn’t going to cut it for the Cats. UCLA is the play on Saturday night to make. The team has won three straight and five out of six, and it is most certainly streaking towards the NCAA Tournament. This is the final game of the year at Pauley Pavilion, and quite likely the final home game for G Shabazz Muhammad, and he and his teammates are going to want to make that home court advantage stick. In a de facto pick ‘em game, we have to take the Bruins.

Arizona vs. UCLA Pick: UCLA Bruins -1.5
Arizona vs. UCLA Prediction: UCLA 73 – Arizona 68

There’s not a ton to like tonight about the Wildcats when you really look at it. The underdog team is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 games in this series, and for the most part, that underdog has been Washington. The Huskies managed to cover by a hook the first time that these two teams met in a very close game at the Alaska Airlines Arena, and that marked their fifth cover in their last six games in this series dating back to the 2010-11 season meetings. Arizona has really been a poor ATS team of late, failing to cover four in a row, losing two of those games outright. Washington isn’t exactly on fire right now either with just two SU victories and five covers in its last nine games, but this is the biggest opportunity of the season. Getting into the NCAA Tournament is somehow still within reach for the Huskies, but it’s going to take beat Arizona at some point down the line, either here or in the Pac-12 Tournament to make that even remotely a possibility. This could be an interesting spot to take a heck of a lot of points.

Washington vs. Arizona Pick: Washington Huskies
Washington vs. Arizona Prediction: Arizona 71 – Washington 68

Washington is in dire need of a big time win, and this is going to be a tough one to get the job done. The club has lost three games in a row and has dropped two of three from an ATS standpoint. The weapons are there, especially from G CJ Wilcox, who is one of the top scorers in the Pac-12 at 19.0 points per game. If he can get the job done from the outside, there is no reason to think that U-Dub doesn’t at least have a shot at pulling off this upset. Arizona rebounded from its terrible loss at home against the UCLA Bruins to beat the USC Trojans by 24 points. Still, this is a team that feels like it has something wrong with it. The offense is there, but the defense has been wildly inconsistent, holding two of the last five foes to 50 and 54 points, but allowing 70 or more to the other three. The club has gone just 2-5 ATS in spite of the fact that it is 5-2 SU, and this could be problematic. This one means a heck of a lot more to Washington than it does to Arizona, and we think that this could be an upset in the making at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Arizona vs. Washington Pick: Washington Huskies +5.5
Arizona vs. Washington Prediction: Washington 75 – Arizona 72

The Wildcats and the Bruins are both fantastic teams, and we wouldn’t be all that surprised to see either one in the Final Four when push came to shove this year. That being said, this is going to be a game where the hosts are getting just far too much respect. Arizona has been great this year on both sides of the court, ranking in the Top 70 in virtually every major category both offensively and defensively. The team has had its share of problems of late, though. Wins over San Diego State, Colorado, and Utah all came by the skins of the Wildcats’ teeth, and though the team did finish this three-game road trip by beating both Arizona State and Oregon State soundly, we still have our concerns. UCLA is probably the best team that the Cats have faced since beating San Diego State. The Bruins were rolling right along until they were stopped up by Oregon over the weekend in a bit of a surprising defeat at Pauley Pavilion. We think that the Bruins could be set to get back on track in this one, and we wouldn’t be shocked if there were an upset in the making.

UCLA vs. Arizona Pick: UCLA Bruins +9
UCLA vs. Arizona Prediction: UCLA 68 – Arizona 66

If Oregon is going to prove to be a legit team that can make the NCAA Tournament and make some noise after getting there, this is the type of game that it is going to have to win. We know that emotions are going to be quite high at Oregon’s goofy court, and we know that Matthew Tucker Arena is going to be rocking. The team concept that the Ducks have put together is terrific, and the stats for the top six or seven players on this squad are as good as the stats that you’ll see out of any team in America. But is this really a battle tested squad yet? Thus far, the Ducks really haven’t played much, and the toughest game that they faced this year was against the Cincinnati Bearcats, a game that was lost by 11 points. Arizona hasn’t played the best ball of late, and many think that it is going to get picked off as a result. We just don’t see it happening more often than not, though. Remember that this team has already gone on the road and beaten the Clemson Tigers, and has crushed the likes of the San Diego State Aztecs, Miami Hurricanes, and Florida Gators. There isn’t much in the way of commonality of these opponents, but the one game of note is the one against the UTEP Miners. UTEP was beaten by 11 at Arizona. It beat Oregon at home. This just doesn’t look good for the Ducks. They’ll play well, but more often than not, they’re going to get beaten, likely by a late Arizona surge to stretch the game out just a bit.

Arizona vs. Oregon Pick: Arizona Wildcats pk
Arizona vs. Oregon Prediction: Arizona 78 – Oregon 70

CappersInfo is back with its San Diego State Aztecs vs. Arizona Wildcats picks and predictions, as we look to give you all of the college basketball advice and tips that you need to beat your online sportsbook for this crucial Tuesday night tilt.

College Basketball Picks: San Diego State Aztecs vs. Arizona Wildcats
Date: Tuesday, December 25th, 9:30 ET
Location: Diamond Head Classic, Honolulu, HI
San Diego State vs. Arizona Live TV: ESPN2

GT Bets Banner

San Diego State and Arizona have both had great tournaments, and they’re back in the saddle in the finale of the Diamond Head Classic. To reach this point in the dance, the Aztecs had to take on the San Francisco Dons and the Indiana State Sycamores, while the Cats made very short work of both the East Tennessee State Blue Raiders and the Miami Hurricanes. The common thought has got to be that Arizona, an undefeated side, is just going to roll, but we aren’t all that sure that a San Diego State team that hasn’t been beaten since the opening night of the season, is going to go down quietly. We really think that this is the year that the Mountain West is going to be able to crack into the Final Four, and this is a great team to be able to do the trick. There is no doubt that last year’s 61-57 win for the Aztecs in this series will loom large, and we think that this is a time that they are going to be able to do it again to get themselves perhaps into the Top 10 in America.

San Diego State vs. Arizona Pick: San Diego State Aztecs
San Diego State vs. Arizona Prediction: San Diego State 72 – Arizona 68

I’ve been studying the ‘total’ for the New Mexico Bowl odds for quite some time, and I’m ready to make my New Mexico Bowl picks for the clash between the Arizona Wildcats and the Nevada Wolf Pack. The Nevada vs. Arizona kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET at University Stadium in Albuquerque, NM, and I’m going to show you which way to bet on college football to make your CFB pick on for this great game.

2012 New Mexico Bowl
Nevada Wolf Pack (7-5, 3-9 ATS) +9
Arizona Wildcats (7-5, 6-6 ATS) -9
Over/Under 77

The Wolf Pack and the Wildcats are both teams that can really light it up, but here in the New Mexico Bowl, I’m really not so sure that the game is going to be able to reach a ‘total’ that has really flown through the roof over the course of the last several days.

Bowl games haven’t always been kind for the Wolf Pack. They only scored 17 points last year against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in spite of the fact that they had an offense that scored at least 42 points in five of the team’s last seven games of the season, and they scored just 20 the year before in the final season for QB Colin Kaepernick. In fact, dating back to 2006, the Wolf Pack have been held to 20 points or fewer in all but one of their bowl games, and that was a game that they were beaten 42-35 by the Maryland Terrapins. This year’s team is a high flying team for sure with RB Stefphon Jefferson carrying the ball, but I’m just not certain that he is going to be able to do it all by himself.

Get A 100% Sportsbook Bonus @ JustBet Sportsbook!

The Wildcats have had the ability to get the ball moving up and down the field as well with RB Ka’Deem Carey. The team has done a lot of scoring in the 30s this year, and if you take away the games against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, South Carolina State Bulldogs, and the Colorado Buffaloes, all of which have terrible defenses, there isn’t all that much to speak of in terms of tremendous outputs. This strikes me as a game in which Arizona is going to get into the mid-30s, but not all that much more. And, with the way that Nevada has struggled to keep the ball moving in bowl games with teams having weeks and weeks to prepare for the Pistol offense, this is an ‘under’ game waiting to happen.

The 2012 New Mexico Bowl picks are set to go here at Cappers Info, and we are ready to make our free bowl picks for all of the games on the schedule. Check out the Nevada vs. Arizona picks and predictions for what should be a remarkable game.

New Mexico Bowl Picks: Nevada Wolf Pack vs. Arizona Wildcats
Date: Saturday, December 15th, 1:00 ET
Location: University Stadium, Albuquerque, NM
New Mexico Bowl Betting Odds: Arizona -9
Nevada vs. Arizona Live TV Coverage: ESPN

Get used to seeing a heck of a lot of underdogs this year in the bowl games, as we generally think that this is going to be a bowl season where a lot of favorites win games outright. There aren’t many times that we think that the Wolf Pack are a great play in the bowl season, as they have had a terrible history playing in the postseason, but this is going to be an exception to the rule.

The great equalizer this year is going to be the fact that Head Coach Rich Rodriguez is the man on the other side of the field. For as badly as Nevada has been in the postseason, Rich Rod hasn’t had all that much luck either, especially most recently when his old team, the Michigan Wolverines had their doors blown off in the Gator Bowl two years ago. It will also help Nevada that Arizona is only going to have two weeks to prepare for this game, and not the six weeks that some have had in the past to figure out this Pistol offense.

We aren’t all that sure that the Wolf Pack are going to be able to pull off the upset in this one, but we do think that this is going to be a great game to start the bowl season. The Mountain West was a competitive conference this year, and we think that a middling team in the MWC is going to be able to at least hang with a middling team in the Pac-12. Look for RB Stefphon Jefferson to give the Wildcats fits, just as he has against virtually every other team this year. Remember that this Arizona defense ranked 120th in the country, allowing over 485 yards per game on the campaign. Nevada might have allowed 212.9 yards per game, and it might be lacking just a bit of talent, but it should at least be able to stick around, just as it did in the finale this year against the Boise State Broncos.

Nevada vs. Arizona Pick: Nevada Wolf Pack +9
New Mexico Bowl Score Prediction: Arizona 38 – Nevada 35
