The road to the majors has started for golfers from across the globe, and this week, many of them are taking to the links at Pebble Beach. Check out some of our AT&T National Pebble Beach Pro-Am free picks for the tournament!

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Preview
Dates: Thursday, February 9th – Sunday, February 12th
Location: Spyglass Hill, Pebble Beach, CA

Phil Mickelson (+1800) at SportBet.com: Though it normally doesn’t pay to bother with some of the big time favorites, we do think that Lefty is worth a look this weekend. He is in a heck of a lot better shape than some of his cohorts right now, but there is no doubt that he isn’t playing all that well at the moment. Mickelson might be ready for some big time progress, as this is the time of year that he usually starts to shine before the majors begin. Lefty is the only man in this field that has won this tournament three times in the past, and he could make it No. 4 this weekend at Pebble Beach.

Brandt Snedeker (+2500) at SportBet.com: Snedeker won the last tournament at the end of January at Torrey Pines at the Farmers Insurance Open. He also has an eighth place finish in his first tourney of the year and was respectable last week at the Phoenix Open. Snedeker is going to be a challenger this week for sure, and he has a decent history here at Pebble Beach. Don’t be all that shocked if Snedeker ends up being the man of the hour come Sunday afternoon when this tournament is said and done.

Aaron Baddeley (+5000) at SportBet.com: Baddeley won right around this time last year at the Northern Trust Open, and that came on the heels of finishing sixth in this tournament last year. Baddeley has been one of the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour really since that point last February, turning round after round in the 60s with just a few missed cuts. This year, starting with the Farmers Insurance Open, Baddeley has only had one round over par, and if he can keep that up through the weekend, he might all of a sudden have a fantastic price tag on the odds to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

There’s one last major golf event this year, and that goes this week at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, as the 30 top golfers in the FedEx Cup vie for what amounts to be the last tournament title of the weekend at the Tour Championship!

Tour Championship Preview
Dates: Thursday, September 22nd – Sunday, September 25th
Location: East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, GA

Nick Watney (+1700) at SportBet.com: A nice price here on Watney, knowing that these golf odds weren’t too far off from what he had for a lot of the majors from this past year. Now, he only has to best 29 others to get the job done. He was a hot commodity at the BMW Championship last weekend, though he did get off to a slow start that he never truly recovered from. From the back nine in the third round to the front nine in the fourth round, Watney shot a -12 (58) last week. We aren’t willing to go against a golfer in that fine of form.

Jason Day (+1800) at SportBet.com: A good scrambler, this tournament sets up well for Day to do some damage. He knows that he is going to have to win this event to win the FedEx Cup, something that a slew of golfers know, but Day has the goods to get the job done. Any guesses as to who leads the PGA Tour in Par 3 scoring this year? Yep, that’s right. Day could be a hero come Sunday, and he might have a lot of hardware to bring home with him.

John Senden (+4200) at SportBet.com: Senden is one of these golfers that has consistently been playing better than average golf, but he has yet to really bust onto the scene for that big victory. He did finish second last week at the BMW Championship, a result to be proud of against what was a very, very tough field. He finished 10th here two years ago, his only appearance at East Lake, and we are sure that Senden can get the job done again and compete, giving him an above average chance of taking down the Tour Championship.

Some of the best golfers on the PGA Tour are going to be in action this week in Akron, OH for the 13th annual WGC-PGA Championship. Here are our PGA golf picks to click on the odds to win the PGA Championship!

PGA Championship Preview
Dates: Thursday, August 11th – Sunday, August 14th
Location: Highlands Course, Atlanta Athletic Club, Johns Creek, GA

Tiger Woods (+2500) and Phil Mickelson (+2500) at SportBet.com: Last week, we said that we were going to go against both Tiger and Phil, and this week is no exception. Sure, Mickelson played slightly better golf last week at the Bridgestone Invitational, and everyone is going to remember that run that he put on at the British Open in the final round before falling apart in the final few holes. There’s no doubt that there are a lot of special moments in both of these golfers. Unfortunately, their “names” are carrying them to this point, and there is just no way that we can back either one in a spot like this against a very, very tough field. We’d be surprised just to see Woods make the cut, and we don’t foresee a Top 20 finish coming for Lefty either.

Adam Scott (+2300) at SportBet.com: Talk about poetic justice! Wouldn’t it be something if for a second straight week, Caddy Stevie Williams was able to say that he caddied for the winning golfer? Adam Scott has definitely been playing better golf, and it is unfortunate for us that he won last week’s WGC Bridgestone Invitational, because his PGA Championship betting lines came tumbling down after that event. However, we know with Scott’s consistent play and the help of a proven winner of a caddy that this golfer has a tremendous chance ot be able to claim glory at a major championship.

Nick Watney (+3500) at SportBet.com: Watney has sort of been the pick du jour over these last few majors to come up big, but all of a sudden, it is like everyone has forgotten about him. This is still one of the up and coming golfers on the PGA Tour, just like Rory McIlroy. In fact, we’d put Watney’s chances of winning this tournament right there with that of the Northern Ireland native. Don’t be surprised if Watney shoots some consistent scores over the first three days of this tournament, and without making any noise whatsoever, finds himself near the top of the leaderboard going onto the back nine on Sunday.

Ricky Barnes (+20000) at SportBet.com: This is the type of tournament where you take a few long shots and hope that it all works out for you. In the case of Barnes, there has to be at least a 1 in 200 chance that he wins this tournament. This is a man who finished fourth at both the Honda Classic and The Heritage this year, and we know that he has the goods to be able to find his way to the winner’s circle. Sure, there’s a good chance that he ends up missing out on the cut, but at this price, we’ve got to take a stab on Barnes to pull off the biggest weekend of his life.

Some of the best golfers on the PGA Tour are going to be in action this week in Akron, OH for the 13th annual WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Here are our PGA golf picks to click on the odds to win the Bridgestone Invitational!

Bridgestone Invitational Preview
Dates: Thursday, August 4th – Sunday, August 7th
Location: Firestone Country Club, Akron, OH

Tiger Woods (+1950) and Phil Mickelson (+2100) at SportBet.com: We’re going to start with two golfers that we wouldn’t back right now if our lives depended on it. It is very clear that the “names” aren’t going to be winning this event. Lefty was only able to hit the backside of a barn for those few holes at the British Open, and Tiger is just coming back to the fold after a long absence. Woods is especially poisonous, knowing that he has had the long layoff, off of a hard injury to his Achilles, firing his caddy, and adjusting his swing. There’s just no way that either one of these two golfers deserves to be anywhere near even 100 to 1, let alone in the 20 to 1-ish range.

Rory McIlroy (+1300) at SportBet.com: McIlroy really feels like he has the ability to be the next chosen child of golf, replacing the two aforementioned golfers, and he definitely has the game to back it up. McIlroy already has a major illustrious title under his belt this way, running away from the field at the US Open, and he really wants to make a statement going into the PGA Championship next week. This is the most dangerous golfer on the tour this week, and he is definitely the man to beat as long as he is playing his game.

Steve Stricker (+1700) at SportBet.com: Stricker hasn’t had that one absolutely major triumph this year, but he has had his share of minor victories to make him one of the most decorated golfers on the PGA Tour. Stricker won both the Memorial Tournament and the John Deere Classic this year, but this would be the best result that he had on the year. Remember that Stricker finished in the Top 20 in each of the last four majors, making him a real threat to not only take the PGA Championship, but this year at Firestone Country Club as well.

Some of the best golfers on the PGA Tour are going to be in action this week on the shores of West Virginia for the second annual Greenbrier Classic. Here are our PGA golf picks to click on the odds to win the Greenbrier Classic!

Greenbrier Classic Preview
Dates: Thursday, July 28th – Sunday, July 31st
Location: The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs, WV

Phil Mickelson (+810) at SportBet.com: It’s really hard to ignore just how strong the favorite really is in this event. No, Lefty doesn’t have a win in quite some time on the PGA Tour, but in this event, he’s going up against a relatively weak field without an of the normal big hitting suspects. Mickelson went on a great run on Sunday at the British Open two weeks ago, and he has the ability to do even more damage this week on a course where scores should be incredibly, incredibly low. As we saw in Jolly Ol’ England, no one is going to want to get in the way of Mickelson if he starts to catch fire, and we’ll take our chances that he can do just that this week.

Sergio Garcia (+1700) at SportBet.com: Normally speaking, Garcia is a bit of a taboo bet, because this is a man that we were counting on to be the Spanish edition of Tiger Woods. Over the past several years, wins have been hard to come by for Garcia, but this week, he has a great opportunity to find his way to the winner’s circle. The Spaniard has had a whopping 11 Top 25 finishes in his 15 starts this year, and we know that he is going to have a consistent showing once again this weekend as well. All we want in this event is a player that has the ability to have a round in the low 60s, and Garcia is just the man for the task.

Webb Simpson (+2300) at SportBet.com: One might want to get better PGA Tour odds on a golfer that has never won an event in his career, but there is no doubt that Simpson is due to make it to the top of the charts in one of these tournaments. He has had five straight Top 20 finishes, and many of the golfers that have consistently been finishing in front of him aren’t around this weekend. This just might be Simpson’s lucky week, giving him a great chance, certainly better than 23 to 1, to take down his first title.

With two major tournaments in the books, PGA betting fans should be all set for arguably the most exciting of the big time events on the calendar, the British Open. We’re set to make our British Open picks for the fourth and final major of the year, starting on Thursday!

British Open Preview
Dates: Thursday, July 14th – Sunday, July 17th
Location: Royal St. George’s, Sandwich, Kent, England

Rory McIlroy (+665) at SportBet.com: Simply put, there’s no way that we can make our British Open Picks without at least thinking about including McIlroy in the bunch. The youngster has really done a great job replacing Tiger Woods as the face of the PGA Tour at this point, and he is sure to be a contender in this one as well. Remember that it isn’t just the US Open that McIlroy played that well at. He really should have won the Masters before choking away the title on the final day. However, he really has made no mistakes since that point and should be considered a huge threat to take down the title once again. McIlroy is absolutely a deserved British Open favorite.

Phil Mickelson (+4800) at SportBet.com: Doesn’t it seem odd that Lefty is this much of an underdog in this tournament? It almost seems like it’s cliché to take Mickelson in this tournament, but we know that he does have the goods to win a career Grand Slam, and this is one of the jewels that he is missing. We know that the game where even par might win the tournament isn’t really one which suits Mickelson the best, but at these British Open odds, we simply cannot pass. Mickelson has a great price here at 48 to 1.

Steve Stricker (+4000) at SportBet.com: For three straight years now, Stricker has been the hot golfer on tour, winning the John Deere Classic in the lead up week to the British Open. This year, Stricker has really been playing some of the best golf of his life, and he really due to be able to shine in a major. This is a bit of a trendy golf pick, just as Nick Watney was in the Masters at the outset of the season, but in this case, we definitely feel that 40 to 1 justifies taking Stricker to be able to stay in the limelight in one of the biggest events in his career.
