Third Round Betting Lines
#14 Harvard Crimson +9.5
#6 Arizona Wildcats -9.5
Over/Under 132.5

Harvard has become the sweetheart of this tournament after just one day. The Crimson wrapped up the night by kicking the Mountain West champs and the No. 2 RPI team in the nation, the New Mexico Lobos to the curb. Harvard shot 22-of-42 from the field, and it ultimately knocked down seemingly every massive shot that it had to make to win the game. Here’s what we aren’t all that sure about, though. The Crimson were dominated on the boards by C Alex Kirk and the Lobos, who ultimately put together a +6 rebounding edge, +10 of which came on the offensive glass. The Crimson turned the ball over 13 times, which was a lot considering the fact that they only put up 42 total shots from the field. Arizona was able to dispose of one mid-major team hoping to pull off some miracles when it took care of the Belmont Bruins in relatively easy fashion, and this will surely be the second one in the event that the team plays as well as it did in its first game of the dance. Everything flat out worked for the Wildcats, as they played great perimeter defense to hold the Bears down to just 8-of-27 shooting from long range, and they won the battle on the glass 42-15. We aren’t so sure that the final margin is going to be that devastating in the rebounding battle, but we do think that the lanky defense that Head Coach Sean Miller brings to the table is going to ultimately give fits to the Crimson. Harvard was a nice story for one night, but its flame is about set to be put out by a hungry Arizona team out of a Pac-12 conference that had a heck of a first day in the dance.

March Madness free picks are one of our top specialties this time of year here at Cappers Info, and we have another great one on the NCAA Tournament schedule on Thursday night. The #14 Harvard Crimson and the #3 New Mexico Lobos will meet in the Round of 64 in the West Region, and we’re breaking down the NCAA basketball betting lines for the clash.

West Region Picks: #14 Harvard Crimson vs. #3 New Mexico Lobos
Date: Thursday, March 21st, 7:20 ET
West Region Location: Energy Solutions Arena, Salt Lake City, UT
Harvard vs. New Mexico Live on TV: TNT

Round of 64 Betting Lines
#14 Harvard Crimson +11
#3 New Mexico Lobos -11
Over/Under 125.5

The Crimson have a tremendous shooting team, but that’s about all that they can boast for. This is a team that knocked down 40.1 percent of its long range shots on the campaign, good enough to be seventh in the NCAA. It also put down 48.2 percent of its total shots from the floor. The end result though, was only 68.9 points per game in the Ivy League, one of the worst conferences in America this season. Enter: New Mexico. This is a team that we think legitimately could have, lest probably should have been a top seed in the dance. What more could you ask for out of the Lobos? They went 29-5. They played the second toughest schedule in the nation. They had the No. 2 ranked RPI in the game. They won at home. They won on the road. They won on neutral sites. The beat the snot out of New Mexico State twice, they topped Indiana State, Mercer, Connecticut, Davidson, and Valpo, all of which either were, or should have been NCAA Tournament teams. Head Coach Steve Alford knows that his club got shafted, but the opportunity is here to make amends in a hurry. The Crimson are going to get completely blown away in this game unless they can knock down a solid 50-60% of their three-point shots. New Mexico is just too athletic and too lanky to be beaten in this one as long as it plays with that chip on its shoulder that we have previously discussed. This game will essentially be covered by halftime.

Harvard vs. New Mexico Free Pick: New Mexico Lobos -11
Harvard vs. New Mexico Predictions: New Mexico 73 – Harvard 58

How about some Ivy League action on Friday night? The Tigers know that they are running out of chances to run down the Crimson atop the Ivy League. They already were beaten on the road by Harvard, and another loss in this game basically makes it a foregone conclusion that the Crimson are going to be dancing. We do really like what Princeton has been able to do over the course of these last four road games, scoring three victories and three covers, but when the rubber met the road in Boston, the Crimson clearly ruled the day. Harvard is an insanely efficient team that no one is going to want to face in the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson are shooting 48.8 percent from the field (9th in the land) and 40.1 percent from long range (8th). Sure, it’s only producing 70.2 points per game, but that’s still a tremendous mark in the Ivy League, where points are always at a premium, especially when you play against Princeton. We think that the Ivy League will be said and done with on Friday night when the Crimson come to the Garden State and dismiss the Tigers.

Harvard vs. Princeton Pick: Harvard Crimson +6
Harvard vs. Princeton Prediction: Harvard 64 – Princeton 58

CappersInfo is back with its Harvard Crimson vs. Connecticut Huskies picks and predictions, as we look to give you all of the college basketball advice and tips that you need to beat your online sportsbook for this crucial Friday night tilt.

College Basketball Picks: Harvard Crimson @ Connecticut Huskies

Location: Rentschler Arena, Storrs, CT
Harvard vs. Connecticut Live TV: ESPN Full Court

UConn and Harvard are going to be meeting for the fourth straight year, and the Huskies hope that they have the same type of success in this one as they did in the last three. They’re 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS in those games. Connecticut was beaten by the NC State Wolfpack a few nights ago, but we’re not really letting that bother us all that much. This is still a solid team that has the ability to win games by oodles of points when push comes to shove. Harvard has won two in a row over the Boston College Eagles and Fordham Rams, but this is a much different game. These two do have a common foe in the Vermont Catamounts. Harvard lost at home to the Catamounts 85-78. UConn won 67-49. This is still a very talented Harvard team, but the squad just isn’t as good as it has been in the last two years or so, and it will show on Friday when UConn rips it apart to the tune of a double digit victory.

Harvard vs. Connecticut Pick: Connecticut -9
Harvard vs. Connecticut Prediction: Connecticut 78 – Harvard 65
