Penguins Lead Series 2-0

5DimesThe Penguins haven’t had any problems scoring goals in this series, and they have now scored at least three goals in every single game which they have played in the playoffs. That’s quite the impressive mark over the course of the this many games. Ottawa is doing everything that it can, and it just isn’t good enough to stick with the Pens in this series. The Senators’ G Craig Anderson was run out of Game 2, and though he is going to be back in the pipes in Game 3, he has to face less pressure than he has in the first two games of this series. Unfortunately, we just don’t see how that’s going to happen. Now that C Sidney Crosby is back doing his thing, and he is coming off of a game in which he scored a hat trick, this Pittsburgh team might be unbeatable, especially by a team like Ottawa that just doesn’t have the goods to keep up. Unless D Erik Karlsson or RW Daniel Alfredsson can come up with a superhuman effort, the Sens are going to fall down 0-3 in this series.

Penguins vs. Senators Game 3 Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins -125
Penguins at Senators Game 3 Predictions: Penguins 4 – Senators 2

Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals takes place on Monday night, and here at Cappers Info, we have all of the best NHL playoffs picks you’ll find on the internet. The Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks will meet in Game 3 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Free NHL Playoffs Picks: Chicago Blackhawks at Detroit Red Wings Game 3
Date: Monday, May 20th, 7:30 ET
Location: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, MI
NHL Betting Odds: Blackhawks -120
Blackhawks vs. Red Wings NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 1-1

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe biggest question that we have in this series is which version of the Red Wings will show up in the next game. The Detroit team that showed up in Game 1 of this series was an awful one that seemed to be tired and overmatched, especially in the third period. The one that showed up in Game 2 was excited, played stout defense, and did a better job of winning the loose pucks in the neutral zone, creating more opportunities and limiting those same chances on the other end of the ice. We know which Chicago team is showing up night in and night out. It seemed that the biggest problem of the season was figuring out how to beat the Blackhawks at home, and that was something that Detroit conquered. However, Chicago also only lost four games in regulation all regular season long on the road as well, and it almost seems a bit laughable that it has opened up as a -120 favorite in this game on the NHL betting lines. Though we do think that the Red Wings are good enough to win this series, we are going to play the percentages, and those percentages suggest that Chicago is going to win this game significantly more often than not.

Blackhawks vs. Red Wings Game 3 Pick: Chicago Blackhawks -120
Blackhawks at Red Wings Score Prediction: Chicago 3 – Detroit 1

Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals takes place on Sunday night, and here at Cappers Info, we have all of the best NHL playoffs picks you’ll find on the internet. The Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers will meet in Game 2 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Free NHL Playoffs Picks: New York Rangers at Boston Bruins Game 2
Date: Sunday, May 19th, 3:00 ET
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NHL Betting Odds: Bruins -125
Rangers vs. Bruins NHL On TV: NBC

Bruins Lead Series 1-0

Bovada NHL PlayoffsBoston has the right idea about how to approach the second round of the playoffs, and the approach isn’t all that different from the one that it had against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the opening round either. The Bruins are going to throw a ton of pucks at the net and see what sticks. Granted, a lot of the 48 shots that were put on G Henrik Lundqvist in Game 1 weren’t all that spectacular, but 16 of those shots came in just over 15 minutes of overtime play, and that was more than good enough to ultimately get the job done. As we saw it, the Bruins were the better of the two teams on the ice, and we are amazed that the oddsmakers don’t see it that way. If you take the value of home ice advantage on a normal night and don’t even consider the additional boost for this being the playoffs, the Bruins should be at least -140 favorites or so, even if they are only considered an equal team to New York. We didn’t see anything “equal” about Game 1, and that tells us that we are on the road to victory a lot more often than not if the Bruins are going to put forth the same type of effort in Game 2.

Rangers vs. Bruins Game 2 Pick: Boston Bruins -125
Rangers at Bruins Score Prediction: Boston 3 – New York 2

Our Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks Game 2 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Saturday night fight here in the second season.

Game 2 Picks: Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks
Date: Saturday, May 18th, 1:00 ET
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
NHL Betting Odds: Blackhawks -195
Red Wings vs. Blackhawks NHL On TV: NBC

Blackhawks Lead Series 1-0

NHL BookmakerWe really think that there are only two ways to go in this second game of this series between the Blackhawks and the Red Wings, and we’re going to take the road that generally only squares travel. Until Chicago cools off just a bit, something that we do think is going to happen in this series at some point, we are going to back it and lay the goal and a half for the potential huge payoff. The rewards are great and the risks are minimal, and for as long as G Corey Crawford is posting a sub-2.00 GAA, there is always a chance to win. Chicago has won more games in that 3-1 range than most realize, and we haven’t even seen this team really get going on the power play yet. The Blackhawks have the same number of power play goals for the entire postseason as the Los Angeles Kings had in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Thursday night. LW Henrik Zetterberg and the crew could come up with an inspired effort, and we know that betting against G Jimmy Howard isn’t always the best idea in the world. However, that 42-21 shot advantage really spoke loudly, and we don’t think that it was a matter of fatigue for the Red Wings that caused that. Chicago is the way to go in Game 2.

Red Wings vs. Blackhawks Game 2 Pick: Chicago Blackhawks -1.5 (+165)
Game 2 Red Wings vs. Blackhawks Predictions: Chicago 4 – Detroit 1

The San Jose Sharks and the Los Angeles Kings are going to square off on the NHL odds and betting lines on Saturday for Game 3 of their NHL playoff series. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our Kings @ Sharks Game 3 picks & predictions for hockey for what should be a great game on Saturday.

Location: HP Pavilion, San Jose, CA
NHL Betting Odds: San Jose -130
Kings vs. Sharks NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Kings Lead Series 2-0

5DimesThe Sharks absolutely have to be disheartened about the way that Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals went. They fell behind 2-0 before clawing back and scoring three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead, and they held that lead until the last two minutes of the game. They won the faceoff battle 44-21, they were holding the Kings to less than a shot every other minute on average at that point, and they got production out of their top lines once again, something that was tremendously lacking in Game 1. Yet somehow, it wasn’t enough. D Brad Stuart and D Marc-Edouard Vlasic both scored goals in Game 2, but they aren’t going to be remembered for those goals. They’re going to be remembered for the penalties that they took in succession that allowed LA to go on a 5-on-3 power play with less than two minutes left in the game. Not only did the Kings strike once, but they struck twice to turn what looked like a near sure loss and turn it into a victory. Can San Jose really rebound from such a defeat? We think that it can, but we don’t think that it will. The Kings are starting to look a lot like the group that ultimately won the Stanley Cup last year, and the roster is largely the same. We want that group on our side more often than not on Saturday.

Kings vs. Sharks Game 3 Pick: Los Angeles Kings +115
Kings at Sharks Game 3 Predictions: Kings 3 – Sharks 2

Our Ottawa Senators at Pittsburgh Penguins Game 2 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Friday night fight here in the second season.

Game 2 Picks: Ottawa Senators at Pittsburgh Penguins
Date: Friday, May 17th, 7:30 ET
Location: Consol Energy Arena, Pittsburgh, PA
NHL Betting Odds: Penguins -190
Senators vs. Penguins NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Penguins Lead Series 1-0

NHL BookmakerThe Penguins have already won three quarters of their home games this year, and that includes taking two of the three games that they played at home against the New York Islanders. We came into this series thinking that the Sens would find a way to take one out of two of these first games, but we are starting to become pessimistic about that thought and are going to shift the other way. The Penguins didn’t just win Game 1; they dominated it. They didn’t win the shots on goal battle, but they did win the battle of the quality chances, and they parlayed that into four goals which would never be responded to. G Tomas Vokoun is playing like a man with his hair on fire ever since taking over for the benched G Marc-Andre Fleury. Perhaps most important for Pittsburgh is the fact that its power play is on fire. The team has scored a whopping 13 power play goals in its last 10 games, including going 2-of-4 on the man advantage on Tuesday night’s Game 1. The Senators meanwhile, went 0-for-5 on their five shots with the man advantage. Pittsburgh has scored at least four goals in five straight games and at least three goals in eight straight games, and we have to think that it is going to win this game at least two out of three times to make us turn a profit.

Senators vs. Penguins Game 2 Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins -190
Game 2 Senators vs. Penguins Predictions: Pittsburgh 4 – Ottawa 2

Sharks vs. Kings NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Kings Lead Series 1-0

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe Kings really got off to a great start over the course of the Western Conference Semifinals, but we really don’t believe that it was anything that most of the skaters had to offer. In fact, purely from a skating standpoint, we think that the Sharks were every bit as good as LA was. San Jose fired off 35 shots on goal against just 20 that it allowed, and it dominated the third period, albeit in a trailing role from down 2-0. D Slava Voynov has had an amazing postseason, and he continued it on Tuesday night when he scored his third goal of the playoffs, but the man of the hour is clearly G Jonathan Quick. Quick was the man that had to stand in front of all 35 of those shots, and he found a way to dismiss all of them, blanking the Sharks in the process. This time around, we think that we are going to see a bit of a different result. It’s not going to take all that much in this series for the Sharks to be able to win games, as two goals would probably do it on most nights, and three virtually certainly would. It’s easier said than done to be able to get the job done if you’re San Jose, but we think that there is probably about a 50/50 chance that it is going to end up winning this game by putting three goals up against Quick.

Sharks vs. Kings Game 2 Pick: San Jose Sharks +135
Sharks at Kings Score Prediction: San Jose 3 – Los Angeles 1

The Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers are going to square off on the NHL odds and betting lines on Thursday for Game 1 of their NHL playoff series. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our Rangers @ Bruins Game 1 picks & predictions for hockey for what should be a great game on Thursday.

Rangers vs. Bruins NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 0-0

5DimesThe Bruins and the Rangers both scored a whopping five goals over the course of their Game 7 triumphs over the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals respectively, and as a result, we are struggling to try to figure out what in the heck the oddsmakers are doing lining this ‘total’ at 5 instead of at 5.5 for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The argument could be made that G Henrik Lundqvist is on fire, and yes, it’s true that he has stopped 64 straight shots in two straight shutouts. However, he was only above average at best in the rest of the games in this series against Washington, and we don’t expect that he is going to be able to slow down a line that generated a whopping 14 goals over the course of seven games for Boston against the Maple Leafs. G Tuukka Rask doesn’t quite look all that right either. He was never really outstanding in the first round against Toronto, and he put the team in a bad spot by allowing goals on four of his 28 shots faced in Game 7 on Monday night. Simply put, the way that these two are playing right now, we have to think there is a decent chance that both will get to at least two goals when push comes to shove. This might be the postseason, but it’s not going to be a total slug fest in all likelihood.

Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals takes place on Wednesday night, and here at Cappers Info, we have all of the best NHL playoffs picks you’ll find on the internet. The Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings will meet in Game 1 of their playoff series, and we’re going to be giving you the NHL analysis necessary to make your hockey picks on this great game.

Date: Wednesday, May 15th, 8:00 ET
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
NHL Betting Odds: Blackhawks -20
Red Wings vs. Blackhawks NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 0-0

Bovada NHL PlayoffsThe first question that we have to ask ourselves is whether the Blackhawks really are the best team in the Western Conference or not. The answer to that question is definitively yes. The next question is whether they beat a team that was worthy of being in the playoffs in the Minnesota Wild. The answer to that question is definitively no. The Wild were a wreck, especially without G Niklas Backstrom in the pipes to help out a defense that was constantly under fire. Chicago, to its credit, took full advantage of Minnesota’s second, and eventually its third goalie to win that series in five easy games. However, this will be a much different challenge. Yes, the Blackhawks only lost three games at home in regulation all season long, and yes, they are now 21-3-3 this season at the United Center. However, they are playing against a Detroit team that can play. The Wings are now 8-3 in their last 11 games dating back to the regular season, and they did everything right in the first round of the playoffs in a crunch time type of series against the Anaheim Ducks. All of the meaningful goals that were scored in that series were amazing, and we think that Detroit is going to have some of that magic here in this series as well. Take the underdogs and the huge price on the NHL betting odds in this one.

Red Wings vs. Blackhawks Game 1 Pick: Detroit Red Wings +180
Red Wings at Blackhawks Score Prediction: Detroit 2 – Chicago 1

Our San Jose Sharks at Los Angeles Kings Game 1 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Tuesday night fight here in the second season.

Game 1 Picks: San Jose Sharks at Los Angeles Kings
Date: Tuesday, May 14th, 10:00 ET
Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
NHL Betting Odds: Kings -160
Sharks vs. Kings NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 0-0

NHL BookmakerBoth the Kings and the Sharks have won four games in a row, and they are both heading into the second round of the playoffs with tons of confidence. Unfortunately for the Sharks, they have had to deal with a full week off, and even more unfortunate is the fact that they absolutely do not have the better of these two teams. Things are just working right now for LA. RW Dustin Penner nailed the series-winning shot at 20:00 of the second period against the St. Louis Blues in Game 6 at home, and you just don’t get that type of lucky break every day. G Jonathan Quick was arguably the best goalie over the course of the whole first round of the playoffs, and he had to stand toe to toe with a team that allowed a total of just three goals in its first three games of this postseason. We knew if things came together for the champs that they were going to be a tough team to get rid of in these playoffs, and we think that is exactly how this is going to play out. This is a series that will belong to the Kings for sure as we see it, and this opening game is only going to be a microcosm for how this series is ultimately going to end up going.

NHL Betting Odds: Pittsburgh -200
Senators vs. Penguins NHL On TV: NBC Sports Network

Series Tied 0-0

5DimesThe Penguins and the Senators seem to be separated by worlds. Pittsburgh was definitively the most talented team from a skating standpoint in the opening round of the playoffs, as it scored a whopping 25 goals in six games against the New York Islanders, including at least four in the final four games. The offense was simply unstoppable, but then again, the Isles aren’t known for their outstanding defense, and it has been years since G Evgeni Nabokov was really a force in the pipes. This time around though, the Penguins are going to be getting a challenge from a great defense and a rock solid goalie in G Craig Anderson, who had a great start to his postseason. Ottawa was able to excuse the Montreal Canadiens in just five games, though we all know that this series is going to be one in which the Penguins don’t give up the way that the Habs did. That being said, the oddsmakers just don’t have this one right. Sure, Pittsburgh is the better team in this series, and it deserves the nod with home ice advantage for about 30 cents as well. However, when push comes to shove, there is no way that G Tomas Vokoun should be a -200 favorite in the playoffs against a guy who legitimately perhaps should have been the Vezina Trophy winner this year. We like Ottawa at this price in this series and will continue to back the Sens until the numbers start to settle into the -160 area where they probably belong.

Senators vs. Penguins Game 1 Pick: Ottawa Senators +180

Our Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins Game 7 picks are hot from the presses, and here at Cappers Info, we’re presenting our NHL picks and predictions for what should be yet another great Monday night fight here in the second season.

Game 7 Picks: Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins
Date: Monday, May 13th, 7:00 ET
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NHL Betting Odds: Check Back Later
Maple Leafs vs. Bruins NHL On TV: CNBC

Series Tied 3-3

NHL BookmakerAlright Boston, it’s time to wake up and smell the roses! The Bruins know that they are in some trouble in this game, as they have all of the pressure in the world on their shoulders. They have lost two straight games against the Maple Leafs, one at home and one away from home, and now, they are forced to win Game 7 if they are to extend their season by at least another week and a half or so. There is going to be a lot of support for Toronto, especially knowing that it is going to be a heavy, heavy underdog in this game. However, sometimes you just have to go with your gut. Our gut is still telling us that the better team is going to find a way to win this series. The Maple Leafs have the lesser goalie. They have the lesser front line for sure. They have the lesser defense. They have very little depth in comparison to Boston. In the end, the Bruins are playing at home as well, and we just can’t imagine this team, which dominated parts of the first four games of this series like we haven’t seen in the playoffs from most teams this year, losing a third straight game overall and a second straight here at home. This is where we should be seeing the whole “Boston Strong” thing come up. The Bruins are a strong team, and they have overcome so many situations like this in the past. The Maple Leafs just aren’t experienced enough or talented enough to come into Beantown and win a Game 7 quite yet. They should hold their heads high in defeat, but defeat it will still be.

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins Game 7 Pick: Boston Bruins
Game 7 Maple Leafs vs. Bruins Predictions: Boston 3 – Toronto 1
