We’ve got our dancing shoes on once again here at Cappers Info, and that means that it’s time for the NCAA Tournament picks to continue. Our next set of March Madness Bracket Predictions take us to the East Region, where the #7 Illinois Fighting Illini and the #2 Miami Hurricanes meet in the Third Round.

East Region Picks: #7 Illinois Fighting Illini vs. #2 Miami Hurricanes

Third Round Betting Lines
#7 Illinois Fighting Illini +5.5
#2 Miami Hurricanes -5.5
Over/Under 128.5

The Hurricanes are becoming one of the trendiest teams in the NCAA Tournament to back at this point, and they certainly didn’t do anything to make us believe that they would be in any danger any time soon when they disposed of the Pacific Tigers without all that much of a problem. We really liked Colorado’s chances against the Canes because it had the goods to hit the glass with the boys from the ACC. However, as we saw when the Illini took on the Buffs on Friday, when they aren’t hitting their outside shots, they’re in a heck of a lot of trouble. Illinois ended up only hitting 16-of-52 from the field, including knocking down just three shots for the entire second half. Thirty-one of the 52 shots from the field came from long range, and there were a ton of ill-advised shots. Sure, if Illinois can hit half of its threes, it will have a shot in this game. If it doesn’t though, there isn’t all that much in the way of big boys that can contend with guys like F Julian Gamble, C Reggie Johnson, and the rest of the Miami bigs. The Illini aren’t going to jump out to a huge lead in this game like they did against Colorado, and the first time that the boys from the Big Ten hit a cold stretch from the floor, this game is said and done with.

Illinois vs. Miami Free Pick: Miami Hurricanes -5.5

We’ve got our dancing shoes on once again here at Cappers Info, and that means that it’s time for the NCAA Tournament picks to continue. Our next set of March Madness Bracket Predictions take us to the East Region, where the #10 Colorado Buffaloes and the #7 Illinois Fighting Illini meet in the Second Round.

Second Round Betting Lines
#10 Colorado Buffaloes +1.5
#7 Illinois Fighting Illini -1.5
Over/Under 126.5

Every now and again, you just get a matchup that looks a little funky in the NCAA Tournament, and this is one of those games for sure. The Illini are truly overrated as a No. 7 seed in the dance. Yes, they have some scrappy guards in G Brandon Paul, G Tracy Abrams, and G DJ Richardson, but when you really look at it, none of them are great shooters, and none are particularly capable three-point shooters either. As a team, the Illini are shooting just 41.6 percent from the floor and 32.5 percent from downtown. In Big Ten play this year, Illinois was outrebounded on a night in, night out basis, and it ultimately lost a lot of games to a lot of teams that are comparable to this one that is going to be faced on Friday. Colorado has four men that average double digits in scoring, but the man that is really going to dominate in this one is F Andre Roberson. The Buffaloes’ leading rebounder is putting up more than double the boards that anyone is averaging on the Illini, and he should be in for a great day. In the end, we think that the oddsmakers and the Selection Committee got this one wrong. Colorado should be the No. 7, not the No. 10, and it should be favored by a few points, not be the short underdog.

Colorado vs. Illinois Free Pick: Colorado Buffaloes +1.5
Colorado vs. Illinois Predictions: Colorado 71 – Illinois 59

Big Ten Tournament Picks: Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Indiana Hoosiers
Date: Friday, March 15th, 12:00 ET
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
Illinois vs. Indiana Live TV: ESPN

GT Bets Banner

Friday’s day of college hoops starts with a big battle in the Big Ten. The top seeded Hoosiers probably need to avoid a loss like this one to hang onto a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, while the Illini are trying to take a bigger move up the bracket for Sunday as well. Illinois really didn’t play a great game on Thursday against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, but it disposed of them in a low scoring battle to make it to Friday. Indiana is going to have a real score to settle with the Fighting Illini after losing to them in Champaign back on February 7th. The team is going to be laying a handful of points for sure in this one, and we think that it is the wise play to make. The Hoosiers are one of the best teams in the country, and they have proven it time and time again this year. We would actually be surprised if they didn’t go on to win the Big Ten Tournament, claiming that top seed in the process. The Illini just don’t have the horses to keep up with F Cody Zeller and the gang after a game like they just played on Thursday.

Illinois vs. Indiana Pick: Indiana Hoosiers -9
Big Ten Quarterfinals Prediction: Indiana 76 – Illinois 65

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Sunday night. The Ohio State Buckeyes and Illinois Fighting Illini will have it in a nationally televised game, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on ESPN.

Free College Hoops Picks: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Ohio State Buckeyes
Date: Sunday, March 10th, 12:30 ET
Location: Value City Arena, Columbus, OH
Illinois vs. Ohio State Live TV: ESPN

The Buckeyes are flying high with four straight wins and covers against some solid opponents in the Big Ten. F Deshaun Thomas and G Aaron Craft are really playing great basketball at the moment, and both had big games against the Indiana Hoosiers in the biggest win of the season on Tuesday night. That being said, doesn’t it feel like it’s time for a letdown for the men in scarlet? Illinois is going to come to town with its hair on fire after losing back to back road games to two of the middling teams in the Big Ten, and it badly needs a ‘W’ to ensure once and for all and without a shadow of a doubt that it will be in the dance. G Brandon Paul and G DJ Richardson are the two that we are expecting to have good games in this one. The Buckeyes were most certainly not the better team on the court when these two teams met two months ago, though that game was in Champaign and this one is in Columbus. The Bucks shot just 33.3 percent from the field that night, and they looked uncomfortable playing at the faster pace that Illinois brought to the table. If the Illini can win the battle on the glass as they did against Thomas and the Buckeyes in January, they’ll have a shot at the upset in this one.

Illinois vs. Ohio State Pick: Illinois Fighting Illini +9.5
Illinois vs. Ohio State Prediction: Illinois 66 – Ohio State 61

CappersInfo is back with its Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Michigan Wolverines picks and predictions, as we look to give you all of the college basketball advice and tips that you need to beat your online sportsbook for this crucial Sunday night tilt.

College Basketball Picks: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Michigan Wolverines
Date: Sunday, February 24th, 1:00 ET
Location: Crisler Arena, Ann Arbor, MI
Illinois vs. Michigan Live TV: ESPN

GT Bets Banner

An interesting afternoon of basketball for sure awaits for the Illini and the Wolverines. Michigan is one of the better teams in the land in terms of talent, and G Trey Burke should arguably be on his way to National Player of the Year honors for what he has accomplished for the Big Blue Nation. However, we have a real issue right now with the Wolverines. They have dropped three of their last five games SU, were lucky to win the one that they did against a good Ohio State Buckeyes team, and they have failed to cover five in a row since this streak of difficult games really got started. There is a real question now, as to whether this team is nothing but a paper tiger or not. If it is, this could become a very interesting game. Michigan went to Champaign a few weeks ago and beat the snot out of Illinois, but the Illini are a significantly better outfit now than they were then. They aren’t quite going to be able to pull off the upset on the road, but we do think that they are going to hang a lot closer than they did the first time around in what should be a competitive game to the wire at Crisler Arena.

Illinois vs. Michigan Pick: Illinois Fighting Illini +9.5
Illinois vs. Michigan Prediction: Michigan 73 – Illinois 70

Here we go again for the No. 1 team in the country… For four straight weeks, the top team in the land has been knocked off, and once again, that could be the case for the Hoosiers, who are on the road twice this week. This is the tougher of the two games for sure, as the Illini badly need a win like this one to keep their season alive. It’s tough to justify backing this Illinois team right now. The club has lost three straight and six out of seven, and it hasn’t won a home game since January 5th against the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, we think that Indiana is going to have a bit of a hangover in this one. The win over the Michigan Wolverines was arguably the best of the season, and there is a chance that the team comes out fattened up by that triumph. The road hasn’t always been kind to IU this season, knowing that both the Northwestern Wildcats and Iowa Hawkeyes were able to challenge it. This is probably the toughest road game that the team has had thus far in the Big Ten portion of the schedule, and we think that G DJ Richardson and the crew might be able to shoot the Illini into a position to pull off one of the bigger upsets of the season in this one.

Indiana vs. Illinois Pick: Illinois Fighting Illini +7
Indiana vs. Illinois Prediction: Illinois 78 – Indiana 74

Sparty has essentially been kicking tail and taking names over the course of the last several weeks. There are only four losses to show for this year, and those defeats are all in games in which there is no shame whatsoever. Basically, MSU has been beating the teams that it is supposed to beat and suffering iffy results on the road against the best and brightest in the Big Ten. This is one of those games that should be won for sure. However, we’re not all that certain that it is going to go according to the script. Oh, the men in green will win this game, but there is a point of market correction for the Illini. They have been embarrassed quite a bit over the course of the last several games, losing by 14 to Michigan, dropping by 14 to Northwestern as a 10-point favorite, getting crippled by 23 by Wisconsin, and 17 by Minnesota. Matters just don’t look like they could possibly get any worse at this point. That’s why we are going to take the points that are on our side in this one. The Illini did win when these two teams got together in January in an ugly 42-41 affair. It won’t be that ugly this time around, and Illinois isn’t going to win it, but it will walk away with a cover.

Illinois vs. Michigan State Pick: Illinois Fighting Illini +8.5
Illinois vs. Michigan State Prediction: Michigan State 71 – Illinois 67

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Saturday night. The Gonzaga Bulldogs and Illinois Fighting Illini will have it in a nationally televised game, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on ESPN2.

Free College Hoops Picks: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Gonzaga Bulldogs
Date: Saturday, December 8th, 10:00 ET
Location: McCarthy Athletic Center, Spokane, WA
Illinois vs. Gonzaga Live TV: ESPN2

Going to Spokane is absolutely no fun for any team in the nation, but especially not for a Top 15 ranked team coming here in one of the biggest games of the year for the Zags. A very talented Gonzaga team has a real chance to be in the Final Four this year, and this is the first real chance to prove it. We love the combination of F Elias Harris, G Kevin Pangos, and G Gary Bell Jr., and we know that C Przemek Karnowski is bringing a heck of a lot to the table as well. G David Stockton, son of the great Gonzaga star, G John Stockton is playing just like his dad as well, dishing out a ton of assists and scoring points sparingly, but he is having a great time playing with this team. Don’t get us wrong, we think that the Illini are solid this year, but we don’t think that they are a legitimate Top 10 type of team. They really haven’t beaten all that much in the way of talented teams, though the wins over USC and Butler were nice in Maui. This is going to be a rude awakening we think, and a real notice to the rest of the country that the Zags are legit.

Illinois vs. Gonzaga Pick: Gonzaga Bulldogs
Illinois vs. Gonzaga Prediction: Gonzaga 81 – Illinois 65

The Illini are just 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games overall, and they are going to have their work cut out for them playing against the Tigers on Saturday. The ‘Zou has won three in a row in this series and has covered two of the three, and you can bet that it is going to want to keep that up this time around as well. Illinois is off to a 12-0 start to this season, but we just aren’t all that impressed. About the only win worth truly noting was the 85-74 victory up in the Kennel in Spokane against the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Granted, we know that Missouri really doesn’t have much in the way of quality victories either, but it has been more impressive in these blowout victories. G Phil Pressey, G Laurence Bowers, and F Alex Oriakhi make up a great group of players, and we think that that is better than anything that the Illini are going to bring to the table. This is a big time rivalry game where both of these clubs absolute hate each other, and in the end, we expect to see the Tigers come away with a fourth straight win over their foes from Champaign.

Missouri vs. Illinois Pick: Missouri Tigers
Missouri vs. Illinois Prediction: Missouri 76 – Illinois 71

The Trojans and the Fighting Illini are going to be playing again each other in the final game of the night at the Maui Invitational, and one of these two teams is going to end up having the donut taken out of their win column. The Illini have already played once out here in Hawaii, having beaten the Warriors in overtime just two days ago. USC has had a good campaign to start of the year as well, knocking off Long Beach State and Coppin State. However, this is a clear set up in competition for both of these teams. It feels like the Trojans are going to have the better opportunity for success, and it feels like they are still underrated after last season chock full of injuries. The defense for Illinois has really ramped it up as well, and we see no way that the Illini are going to get even 60 on the board in this one. If Illinois gets frustrated, the opening game for both of these teams in Maui should go to Southern Cal.

USC vs. Illinois Pick: USC Trojans -1
USC vs. Illinois Prediction: USC 63 – Illinois 58

Week 10 pointspreads are out, and here at Cappers Info, we are set to analyze the college football odds for one of the top games on the slate. The Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Ohio State Buckeyes odds are posted, and we are set to make our CFB picks for another great game.

Week 10 College Football Picks: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Ohio State Buckeyes
Date: Saturday, November 3rd, 3:30 ET
Location: Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH
CFB Betting Odds: Ohio State -27.5
Illinois vs. Ohio State Live TV: ESPN

Laying four touchdowns in a conference game really isn’t a great idea for the most part, and we are going to adhere to that thought on Saturday afternoon. Yes, we know that QB Denard Robinson and the Michigan Wolverines just ripped apart the Illini, and yes, we know that this is the worst team in the Big Ten going against the best team in the Big Ten on the road, but again, four touchdowns is a boatload of touchdowns. Last year, QB Braxton Miller and the Buckeyes scored just 17 points, and they haven’t scored more than 30 in this series in six straight meetings. It’s probably only going to take getting Illinois to 10 points to cover this number, and that shouldn’t be all that much to ask when push comes to shove, though we are definitely aware of the 9.5 points per game that Illinois is averaging this year in Big Ten games as well. Still, take the points and hope that the Buckeyes just decide to not do enough to beat this line.

Illinois @ Ohio State Pick: Illinois Fighting Illini +27.5
Illinois @ Ohio State Score Prediction: Ohio State 28 – Illinois 10

The Illinois Fighting Illini and the Wisconsin Badgers are going to square off in Week 6 of the college football betting campaign. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for football for what should be a great game on Saturday.

Week 6 College Football Picks: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Wisconsin Badgers
Date: Saturday, October 6th, 3:30 ET
Location: Camp Randall Stadium, Champaign, IL
CFB Betting Odds: Wisconsin -14
Illinois vs. Wisconsin Live TV: ABC or ESPN2

The Badgers have had troubles scoring all season long, and now all of a sudden, Joe Public thinks that they are going to be able to blow away the Fighting Illini in a bit of a rivalry game in the Big Ten. Now, it’s true that the Illini have been atrocious at times this year, including over the course of the last two weeks when they have put up a total of just 31 points against Penn State and Louisiana Tech. QB Joel Stave has taken over as the starter for the Badgers, and we just don’t think that he is going to be able to get the job done on a consistent basis. Someone has to be able to win this game, but in the end, we just don’t see either team winning this game by more than a touchdown, let alone by more than two. That means that we have to take the Illini, as much as we really don’t want to.

Illinois @ Wisconsin Pick: Illinois +14
Illinois @ Wisconsin Score Prediction: Wisconsin 20 – Illinois 14
