The best news for the Heat is that they were able to get a few extra days of rest and ultimately end up starting this series on Wednesday instead of on Monday. That gives G Dwyane Wade some time to get his knee back on some ice and back into game shape. That’s bad news for the Pacers, who we think are vastly overrated here in Game 1 of this series. This should be a double digit spread, and we think that everyone knows it outside of Las Vegas. The Heat have only played in three games in this postseason that haven’t been decided by at least 10 points. They have been waiting for this series all season long, knowing that they lost two of the three games to the Pacers in the regular season, especially after losing two games in the second round last year in the playoffs. Remember that this Indiana team has taken some major steps in the right direction, but not offensively. The Pacers are going to have to keep the Heat into the 90s if they want to cover this game in all likelihood, and that’s a heck of a lot easier said than done, especially when you don’t have all that many threats to be able to get the job done from the outside yourself. This is a game for Los Heat to dominate in Game 1.

Heat Lead Series 3-1

It would take a brave man to want to back the Bulls right now. The Heat have taken over this series, and they have done so by outscoring the Chicago by the average final score of 102-79 in the last three games. Is this one really going to be any closer? It just doesn’t seem that way. G Derrick Rose isn’t going to be hobbling out of the locker room, Willis Reed style to save the team, and we don’t think that this will be the night that either F Luol Deng or G Kirk Hinrich make their debuts in this series. Simply put, Head Coach Tom Thibodeau and the Bulls have been beaten and thoroughly beaten by a superior team in this series. About the only shot that Chicago would have of covering this number is if G Dwyane Wade didn’t play. We expect that he will suit, and even if he didn’t, he ultimately only scored six points in Game 4, and that turned out to be a romp in and of itself. Granted, we know that G Nate Robinson isn’t going to shoot 0-for-12 from the field once again in this game, and the Bulls probably won’t shoot 2-of-17 from beyond the arc, but they really don’t have a chance regardless. This series is long since over with, and the Heat are going to make sure to stamp this one out as quickly as possible to move onto the Eastern Conference Finals in style.

Heat Lead Series 2-1

Order has been restored in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and at this point, most would concede the fact that the Heat are going to win this series in five games. There are only 10 guys that don’t believe that to be the case at this point, and those 10 happen to be wearing white and red uniforms. You have to admire the grit and the tenacity that the Bulls have shown in this series, and we are frankly shocked that they are only 1-2 ATS in the first three games to show for their work. F Jimmy Butler has played virtually every minute of this series, while G Marco Belinelli and G Nate Robinson, who didn’t figure to have any sort of role on this team this season, have played 40+ minutes virtually every night. C Joakim Noah is playing on a bum foot, and F Carlos Boozer has been dealing with foul trouble. There has been pushing and shoving at seemingly every whistle, and though the refs are calling technical fouls, it isn’t stopping Chicago from doing what it can. It played its game on Friday night and still lost by 10 points, but it was a lot more unlucky than anything else down the stretch. We have to think that the reward might still be there. Perhaps a few days off can get at least one, if not both of F Luol Deng and/or G Kirk Hinrich back in the lineup. If so, just maybe this becomes a series again. We know that we are grasping for straws at this point, but the one thing that we know about Chicago is that it is never giving up. Go with the Bulls to score the upset in Game 4 to ensure that this series will indeed come back to the Windy City for Game 6.

Heat @ Bulls Game 4 Pick: Chicago Bulls +7.5

It’s amazing how quickly perception changes in a series in the playoffs in the NBA! After Game 1 when the Bulls found a way to go on the road and steal home court advantage, people starting cocking their eyebrows, thinking that Chicago would have a chance in this series. After Game 2 though, when the Heat were up over 40 points for the majority of the fourth quarter, now all of a sudden, no one is giving Chicago a chance. We however, are. We know that there is still no G Kirk Hinrich, and there is still no F Luol Deng either, but we think that the Bulls learned a heck of a lot about this series after Game 2. C Joakim Noah still has a chance to be one of the more dominating players on the court in this series, and he and front court mate F Carlos Boozer could put up big time numbers. Though we do think that Miami is going to win this game, we are shocked to see Chicago getting a touchdown’s worth of points. The Heat are just 7-15-2 ATS in their last 24 visits to the Windy City, and the last time that they were here, their 27-game winning streak was snapped. This one will look a heck of a lot more like Game 1 and a heck of a lot less like Game 2 when push comes to shove, as the Bulls at least find a way to keep this game respectfully close.

Bulls Lead Series 1-0

Well, we didn’t see THAT coming! The Bulls came out of nowhere without F Luol Deng and without G Kirk Hinrich and ultimately found a way to beat the Heat, who really looked slow and sluggish over the course of the whole game. The second half was a bit better for Miami until the final several minutes of the game when the Bulls finished things off, but that definitely wasn’t something that we forecasted. That being said, we still think that laying the points is the best idea of the bunch. G Marco Belinelli played 47 minutes in Game 1, and F Jimmy Butler didn’t take a seat the whole game. F Chris Bosh hit just three field goals for the game, and the Heat as a whole shot 29.2 percent from beyond the arc. Worse was the fact that Miami was outrebounded 46-32. We have to think that’s going to improve as time goes on in this series. There is a point that F LeBron James and G Dwyane Wade should be set to take over, and we are cautiously going to forecast that happening here in Game 2. Perhaps we’ll turn out to be wrong and Chicago will end up ruling the day for a second straight night. However, we still think the percentages are on backing Miami.

The oddsmakers are off of their rocker in this series. The implication is that perhaps Chicago really can stick around in this game, when in actuality, we think that this first game is going to be over within the first 15-20 minutes of action. The Bulls are just far too beat up right now. F Luol Deng, if he plays, is only just getting out of the hospital with an illness. G Kirk Hinrich is going to be asked to get back in the fold if he is able to after missing three of the seven games in the series against the Brooklyn Nets with a hamstring problem. C Joakim Noah is playing well, but he is playing through plantar fasciitis that probably would require the average player to be sitting for at least a few weeks. It just isn’t a pretty situation to be playing in against a team who only lost three games this year at home while it was trying to play real ball. The Heat haven’t broken a sweat yet in these playoffs, and they remember what the Bulls did to them when these two met in the Windy City in March. That was the game that ended Miami’s 27-game winning streak, the second longest streak in NBA history. You can bet that F LeBron James and company want to get some revenge, and they have been thinking about this Game 1 for the last seven days since finishing off the Milwaukee Bucks. This one won’t even be remotely close.

Bulls @ Heat Game 1 Pick: Miami Heat -11.5

Heat Lead Series 3-0

There really isn’t all that much of a chance for the Bucks in this game, but what is important to state is that they really have competed since Game 1. Miami is going to hope to just blow right through this game, but it has to have its eyes set on the upcoming series with either the Brooklyn Nets or the Chicago Bulls. We think that we have seen G Brandon Jennings and G Monta Ellis really play well, and though this might be the last time that either of these men are playing in Milwaukee, this could be a game to remember for them. From a handicapping standpoint, we do think that the Bucks have been getting some good opportunities to drive to the basket in these last two games. They’re never going to outdo the Heat in this respect, but getting 86 points in the last two games combined in the paint is crucial. Look for Milwaukee to get some points in the paint once again in this game, and it should at least put up a respectable effort to save face in what should be the final game of its season. There is no way that the Heat are going to be stopped, as they’ll end up in the second round of the playoffs with a sweep, but the Bucks will cover for the second time.

Series Tied 0-0

With apologies to the Bucks, this is a game that just isn’t going to be all that pretty. If Milwaukee is going to be able to steal a game here in South Beach, this is the game though, as there is no doubt that the Heat are going to be a bit lacking, knowing that most of the stars have basically been taking night after night off here down the stretch of the season, and it could take a little bit of time to flip the proverbial switch. However, if Miami hits its stride, this game and this series are said and done with. The Bucks just don’t have the matchup quite right here. Their best lineup is probably one in which they have three guards on the court at the same time, and when the tallest man that you have on the court is 6’6″ or so, that’s going to cause some real problems with both F LeBron James and F Chris Bosh out there at the same time. Unless the Heat are just incredibly cold from the field, we don’t see any way that they are going to get beaten in this game, and they should be able to have this one covered by the time the fourth quarter gets started so the stars can once again take a bit of a breather before Game 2 gets underway.

The Bulls and the Heat have a great history with one another, and there is a good chance that these two could ultimately meet up in the second round of the playoffs, particularly if Chicago wins this game and stays on track for the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference. Miami though, really has to have a point to prove when push comes to shove. The Heat are playing good basketball at the moment, and they have themselves a full side with which to work with. Sure, we know that G Dwyane Wade, F Chris Bosh, and F LeBron James are all going to be on the court for less than 30 minutes of this game, if even that. However, the truth of the matter is that all has been going well without the Super Friends out there as well. The Heat have won five in a row, and the only loss that they have suffered since losing to this Chicago outfit at the United Center was a completely excusable defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks, who at the time, were on the third longest winning streak that we have seen a team go on this season. The Bulls probably won’t have C Joakim Noah or F Taj Gibson for this game, and we all know that G Derrick Rose probably won’t be back this season. All that being said, this one feels like a game that the boys from South Beach are ultimately going to win by a relatively comfortable margin, especially with the game being played on national television.

This isn’t going to be the easiest game in the world to handicap, knowing that there are going to be a ton of stars that aren’t in the lineup in the game. F Paul Pierce and F Kevin Garnett have already been ruled out with ankle injuries, and we don’t expect to see G Dwyane Wade, C Chris Bosh, or F LeBron James either. So what’s really left to work with on either side? The answer? Really not a whole heck of a lot. Four straight meetings in this series have gone past the ‘total’, but we really see no reason that this is going to be even a remotely exciting game. Both of these teams are just going to try to get out of this one without getting anyone hurt. The Celtics have averaged just 97.1 points per game in their last nine since really taking it easy for the end of the season, while the Heat have averaged only 96.9 points per game in their last eight since they were beaten by the Chicago Bulls to end their 27-game winning streak. The Heat have slowed games down and have figured out how to still win in spite of the fact that they haven’t had their stars in the fold. We would be surprised if this game made it into the 180s.

The Miami Heat and the Charlotte Bobcats are going to square off in a Friday night NBA betting affair on April 5th. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Friday.

NBA Predictions: Miami Heat @ Charlotte Bobcats
Date: Friday, April 5th, 8:00 ET
Location: Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte, NC
NBA Betting Odds: Miami -7.5
Heat vs. Bobcats NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

The first statement that we have to make is a rather obvious one: The Bobcats are bad. They’re really, really bad. They’re 11-52 in their last 63 games, they are the most embarrassing defensive club in the game, and they really just generally stink. They’re not quite as bad as they were last year, but that’s not saying a whole heck of a lot either. This Miami outfit though, is a disaster waiting to happen. It’s no mistake that a team that looked like it was F Chris Bosh and the Idiots out there was beaten by double digits at home against the New York Knicks the last time out, and without F LeBron James, G Dwyane Wade, G Mario Chalmers, and G Ray Allen in the fold, this really does have the look of a team that is ready for the D-League, not some of the best that the NBA has to bring to the table. Unfortunately for Miami, this has the potential to be an embarrassing game, not the Head Coach Erik Spoelstra or GM Pat Riley really care about that. Charlotte has won five of its last six games here at Time Warner Cable Arena, and the only loss in that bunch was a one-point defeat at the hands of the Detroit Pistons. This might not be the same Miami team that is going to take the court here in a few weeks for the playoffs, but it is definitely still the Miami Heat, and that alone should fire Charlotte up. This is one of those days where David could beat Goliath, though we know that the “David” in this game could really care less.

Heat @ Bobcats NBA Pick: Charlotte Bobcats +7.5
Heat @ Bobcats Score Prediction: Bobcats 98 – Heat 92

The question that we have is whether the Heat are really going to be playing this, or any game for the rest of the regular season full bore. We think that resting both F LeBron James and G Dwyane Wade was more of a shot against the San Antonio Spurs than anything else, as it was probably a bit of retribution for the fact that San Antonio came to South Beach earlier this year without F Tim Duncan, G Manu Ginobili, F Danny Green, and G Tony Parker. That being said, we do expect to see these two in the fold against a New York team that is building confidence as the days go by. The Knicks have won eight games in a row, and they are 8-1 ATS in their last nine. This run has included some really big time wins, including going on the road and beating the Utah Jazz, beating the Boston Celtics both home and away, and knocking off the Memphis Grizzlies at home. This is obviously the toughest game of the bunch, but it isn’t as impossible of a task as it might seem. The way that New York is playing, giving it 7 ½-points, even if Wade and LeBron are going to be in the lineup and playing at full strength seems like a bit much. No one is running down Miami for the best record in the league, but the Knicks still absolutely have something to play for with the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference potentially on the line. Miami will win this one, especially after losing to New York by 20 twice this season, but we want the points on our side.

Knicks @ Heat Pick: New York Knicks +7.5
Knicks @ Heat Final Score Prediction: Heat 106 – Knicks 102
