The Memphis Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs are going to square off in Game 2 of their playoff series in a crucial NBA betting affair on May 21st. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Tuesday.

NBA Predictions: Memphis Grizzlies @ San Antonio Spurs
Date: Tuesday, May 21st, 9:00 ET
Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX
NBA Betting Odds: San Antonio -5
Grizzlies vs. Spurs NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Spurs Lead Series 1-0

Right away in Game 1, the Grizzlies knew that they were in a heck of a lot of trouble. They haven’t been able to meet the intensity level that the Spurs have brought to the table. San Antonio was up by 17 points at the end of the first quarter, and there was really never a shot for the Grizz to get back into the swing of things. That being said, we don’t think that this series is over yet. Memphis played an absolutely awful night offensively, but we just don’t think that F Zach Randolph is going to score just two points again in this game, and he probably isn’t only pulling down seven rebounds either. C Marc Gasol also only had seven boards on the night as well. For as much as we do like this San Antonio team, we don’t know if this is the time that it is going to ultimately take a huge lead in this series. We aren’t keen to the way that G Manu Ginobili has been playing, and we really don’t feel all that much about these Spurs in Game 2, knowing that they knocked down 14-of-29 shots from beyond the arc. There’s just no way that happens again in this one, and if it doesn’t, there is a great shot for the Grizzlies to at least stay in front of the number, if not winning this game SU.

Grizzlies @ Spurs Game 2 Pick: Memphis Grizzlies +5
Grizzlies @ Spurs Score Prediction: Grizzlies 89 – Spurs 86

Series Tied 0-0

The best news for the Heat is that they were able to get a few extra days of rest and ultimately end up starting this series on Wednesday instead of on Monday. That gives G Dwyane Wade some time to get his knee back on some ice and back into game shape. That’s bad news for the Pacers, who we think are vastly overrated here in Game 1 of this series. This should be a double digit spread, and we think that everyone knows it outside of Las Vegas. The Heat have only played in three games in this postseason that haven’t been decided by at least 10 points. They have been waiting for this series all season long, knowing that they lost two of the three games to the Pacers in the regular season, especially after losing two games in the second round last year in the playoffs. Remember that this Indiana team has taken some major steps in the right direction, but not offensively. The Pacers are going to have to keep the Heat into the 90s if they want to cover this game in all likelihood, and that’s a heck of a lot easier said than done, especially when you don’t have all that many threats to be able to get the job done from the outside yourself. This is a game for Los Heat to dominate in Game 1.

Pacers @ Heat Game 1 Pick: Miami Heat -8
Pacers @ Heat Game 1 Score Prediction: Heat 101 – Pacers 88

Series Tied 0-0

The style of this series for the Spurs is completely going to change. They were involved in a running and gunning series that they had to slow down just a bit against the Golden State Warriors, and now, they are going to be involved in a bumping and grinding series against the Grizzlies that they are going to have to try to speed up. Just as San Antonio had some problems at the outset of the second round series getting adjusted, it might have similar problems here against Memphis. The Grizzlies were actually unlucky not to sweep the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round of the playoffs this year, and the truth of the matter is that that was arguably the best week and a half stretch in franchise history. Memphis doesn’t have the pedigree and the deep history to stick with the Spurs, but it does have the grit and tenacity to make this a very good series. This first game is going to be a wakeup call for the Spurs, as they are going to get beaten in this opening soiree by the Grizz, who should figure out how to take this one on the road and immediately flip home court advantage in the Western Conference Finals.

The New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers are going to square off in Game 6 of their playoff series in a crucial NBA betting affair on May 18th. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for basketball for what should be a great game on Saturday.

NBA Predictions: New York Knicks @ Indiana Pacers
Date: Saturday, May 18th, 8:00 ET
Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
NBA Betting Odds: Indiana -5
Knicks vs. Pacers NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

Pacers Lead Series 3-2

The Knicks really didn’t do anything phenomenally well in Game 5 to warrant sending this series back to Indianapolis for a Game 6. They only got 16-of-39 shooting from F Carmelo Anthony and G JR Smith, and they really didn’t play well offensively in the game. They weren’t the aggressive team, they didn’t end up getting all that many shots at the charity stripe, though they did keep their turnovers down. Game 5′s loss was all on Indiana. The team shot just 36.2 percent from the field and committed 19 turnovers. Yes, the loss of G George Hill was huge for the team, as G DJ Augustin had to step into the starting lineup, but the real problem came at the foul line. Even shooting 25-of-33 instead of 19-of-33 would have made Game 5 a game down the stretch, but the team alas, just couldn’t hit a shot from the foul line to save its life. Don’t be surprised if this is the game that ends it all, though. We just don’t trust that the Knicks are going to be able to go on the road and even remotely play with the Pacers. Indiana has a great team, and it is a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS thus far this season playing at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Tonight makes it 6-0 SU and ATS, and the conference finals will finally be set.

Knicks @ Pacers Game 6 Pick: Indiana Pacers -5
Knicks @ Pacers Score Prediction: Pacers 99 – Knicks 86

Spurs Lead Series 3-2

Have the Warriors finally had it? They had their chances to succeed in this series over the course of the last several days, but they blew Game 1, and now they aren’t faring all that well with G Stephen Curry playing on bad ankles. It seems as though Head Coach Gregg Popovich has finally figured out how to slow down a team that has given him some really tough times over the course of the last two weeks. G Klay Thompson only managed eight shots from the field and didn’t take a single shot from beyond the arc. Curry only went 4-of-14 and 1-of-7 from downtown. In the end, the Warriors only scored 91 points. Granted, they could have shot the ball better from the line and made the game a bit closer, and men like F Harrison Barnes and F Carl Landry had great games as well. But then you look down that San Antonio roster, and you see G Tony Parker scoring 25, F Kawhi Leonard scoring 17, G Danny Green putting up 16, and we haven’t even talked about F Tim Duncan and G Manu Ginobili yet. This series is over with. The Spurs will put this away on Thursday night and move onto a date with the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference Finals.

Spurs @ Warriors Game 6 Pick: San Antonio Spurs -1.5

Pacers Lead Series 3-1

Say goodnight to the Knicks. We just don’t see how they are ultimately going to be able to get the job done against a team that has dominated and has figured out how to put down the clamps defensively. The Knicks just aren’t adjusting, and they aren’t figuring out how to counter Indiana’s adjustments. As a result, it’s just the same old New York team. It doesn’t move the basketball all that well, it settles for a ton of bad shots, and it doesn’t hit the boards the same way that the Pacers do from one to five. Take Game 4 for example. New York took 11 more shots from the field than Indiana did, and the two teams hit the same number of shots and the same number of three-point field goals? The difference? The Pacers were +11 from the foul line. They got to the stripe 30 times as opposed to 14 for New York, and they won the rebounding battle 54-36. That’s how the Pacers went up 3-1 in this series, and that’s how they are going to close it out on Thursday night at MSG.

Heat Lead Series 3-1

It would take a brave man to want to back the Bulls right now. The Heat have taken over this series, and they have done so by outscoring the Chicago by the average final score of 102-79 in the last three games. Is this one really going to be any closer? It just doesn’t seem that way. G Derrick Rose isn’t going to be hobbling out of the locker room, Willis Reed style to save the team, and we don’t think that this will be the night that either F Luol Deng or G Kirk Hinrich make their debuts in this series. Simply put, Head Coach Tom Thibodeau and the Bulls have been beaten and thoroughly beaten by a superior team in this series. About the only shot that Chicago would have of covering this number is if G Dwyane Wade didn’t play. We expect that he will suit, and even if he didn’t, he ultimately only scored six points in Game 4, and that turned out to be a romp in and of itself. Granted, we know that G Nate Robinson isn’t going to shoot 0-for-12 from the field once again in this game, and the Bulls probably won’t shoot 2-of-17 from beyond the arc, but they really don’t have a chance regardless. This series is long since over with, and the Heat are going to make sure to stamp this one out as quickly as possible to move onto the Eastern Conference Finals in style.

Bulls @ Heat Game 5 Pick: Miami Heat -14
Bulls @ Heat Game 5 Score Prediction: Heat 105 – Bulls 88

Grizzlies Lead Series 3-1

The Thunder know that they have had a shot to win just about every game in this series, and they are very unlucky to be down 3-1 at this point. They blew a 17-point lead against the Grizz in Game 4, and they now know that they have to win all three of these final games to be able to advance to the Western Conference Finals. It’s not likely that they pull that feat off, but it’s one step at a time for Head Coach Scott Brooks and the gang. F Kevin Durant came out in the media earlier this week and proclaimed that he has to do more for the Thunder to succeed at this level. If he’s serious (and we have no reason to believe that he isn’t), that’s scary, considering the fact that the ball is in his hands literally on just about every possession, and it feels like he is already doing everything for the outfit. However, if there is such a thing as a game that Durant could take over and dominate, this is the one. We don’t think that he is coming off of the court tonight, and if that’s how this plays out, don’t be shocked if he scores an insane number of points regardless of what Memphis does to try to stop him defensively. This is the night for Durant and the Thunder to flex their muscles and ultimately get right back in this series.

Pacers Lead Series 2-1

The Pacers have a shot to take this series by the horns, and we think that they are going to do just that on this day. This is the best team in this series by a country mile as we see it, and we think that Indiana has figured out what it has to do in order to ultimately put away the Knicks, perhaps in as few as five total games. The defense has been clogging the paint and either forcing F Carmelo Anthony to take tough shots in the paint, off-balance lengthy shots from outside of the paint, or get the ball out of his hands. Of course though, this is Melo that we’re talking about. Passing is a strange word that he doesn’t comprehend. Indiana has taken advantage of this fact with both Anthony and with G JR Smith, and these two just continue to put together poor shooting performances. The rest of the team for New York has been challenged over and over again, but it just isn’t making all that much of a difference. The Knicks aren’t good enough top to bottom to stick with Indiana. C Roy Hibbert had the best game, arguably of his entire career on Saturday when had pulled down 12 boards and scored 24 points, and he did so in a game in which points were at a huge premium. They will be once again in this one, and the Pacers will easily romp to a 3-1 series edge.

NBA Predictions: Golden State Warriors @ San Antonio Spurs

NBA Betting Odds: San Antonio -7
Warriors vs. Spurs NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Series Tied 2-2

If the Spurs are going to win this series, they had better figure out how to win this game and win it by a comfortable margin. They most certainly don’t want to go back to Oracle Arena, in spite of the fact that they outplayed the Warriors for the majority of the two games out there, facing elimination. San Antonio really flexed its muscles as the better of these two teams as we saw it in Games 3 and 4, and we think that it is going to do the same in Game 5. This would be a 3-1 series if not for the fact that the Spurs just went flat out cold from the floor at the end of Game 4, especially in overtime when just three points were scored. If that game is played at home, it’s a much, much different story. Here’s the sad truth for Golden State, though. G Stephen Curry is hurt. G Klay Thompson just played 50+ minutes for the second time in this series. So did F Harrison Barnes. Barnes won’t score 26 in a game again in this series in all likelihood, and G Jarrett Jack probably isn’t coming off of the bench to score 24. When you’re playing the Spurs, the deeper the series goes, the more trouble you’re in. Their depth eventually wears virtually everyone down, and we have to think that it is going to do just that in Game 5 on Tuesday night as well.

Warriors @ Spurs Game 5 Pick: San Antonio Spurs -7
Warriors @ Spurs Score Prediction: Spurs 108 – Warriors 97

Heat Lead Series 2-1

Order has been restored in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and at this point, most would concede the fact that the Heat are going to win this series in five games. There are only 10 guys that don’t believe that to be the case at this point, and those 10 happen to be wearing white and red uniforms. You have to admire the grit and the tenacity that the Bulls have shown in this series, and we are frankly shocked that they are only 1-2 ATS in the first three games to show for their work. F Jimmy Butler has played virtually every minute of this series, while G Marco Belinelli and G Nate Robinson, who didn’t figure to have any sort of role on this team this season, have played 40+ minutes virtually every night. C Joakim Noah is playing on a bum foot, and F Carlos Boozer has been dealing with foul trouble. There has been pushing and shoving at seemingly every whistle, and though the refs are calling technical fouls, it isn’t stopping Chicago from doing what it can. It played its game on Friday night and still lost by 10 points, but it was a lot more unlucky than anything else down the stretch. We have to think that the reward might still be there. Perhaps a few days off can get at least one, if not both of F Luol Deng and/or G Kirk Hinrich back in the lineup. If so, just maybe this becomes a series again. We know that we are grasping for straws at this point, but the one thing that we know about Chicago is that it is never giving up. Go with the Bulls to score the upset in Game 4 to ensure that this series will indeed come back to the Windy City for Game 6.

Heat @ Bulls Game 4 Pick: Chicago Bulls +7.5

NBA Predictions: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Memphis Grizzlies

Thunder vs. Grizzlies NBA TV Schedule: TNT

Grizzlies Lead Series 2-1

The Grizzlies are rather unfortunate to only be up 2-1 in this series, but with the way that this one has gone, there is a legitimate gripe that either team could be up 3-0. Within the last three minutes of all of these games, the losing team was no further apart than just one point from the team that ultimately won the game. One would figure that the team with F Kevin Durant on it would be able to win these games that come down to the last few possessions. Though we all obviously know that Durant has the ability to get his shot whenever he wants it, and he can hit a shot from anywhere on the court, the half court defense for the Grizzlies has ultimately gotten the job done. Oklahoma City’s defense flat out isn’t as good as the Memphis defense, though that isn’t an indictment on the Thunder by any stretch of the imagination. The Grizzlies have made this series as ugly as they have wanted it, and the second half of Game 3, in particular, was very ugly. The good news for Memphis is if the series stays like this, there’s a good chance to win this game and this series. The bad news for Memphis though, is that it’s darn near impossible to win a game like this by more than two buckets. Thunder bettors were very unlucky in Game 4. They’ll at least get luckier in Game 3.

Thunder @ Grizzlies Game 4 Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder +4.5
Thunder @ Grizzlies Score Prediction: Grizzlies 91 – Thunder 89
