The Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to square off in Week 17 of the NFL betting campaign. Join us here at Cappers Info, as we make our predictions for football for what should be a great game on Sunday.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 1:00 ET
Location: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA
Week 17 Betting Odds: Pittsburgh -7
Browns vs. Steelers Live TV: CBS

This is a ludicrous point spread, to say the least. The Steelers are only favored by a touchdown under the premise that they have given up on the season, while the Browns are still fighting their hearts out to impress new ownership for the 2013 campaign. Pittsburgh though, has a massive score to settle, and QB Ben Roethlisberger is going to want to go out this year with a bang, not a dud. Big Ben threw the game-clinching picks both in Week 15 and in Week 16, and those two losses proved to be the team’s undoing for the playoffs. It’s not so much that the Steelers have the desire to finish at .500 that makes us think that this game is going to be a blowout. It’s that they turned the ball over eight times against the Browns in a 20-14 loss at the Dawg Pound. If Cleveland can only win by six points in a game in which it was at home against a third string quarterback in QB Charlie Batch, is there any way that it is going to be able to come on the road with a third string quarterback of its own in QB Thaddeus Lewis and get the job done in the Steel City against a ticked off Pittsburgh outfit? We think not!

Browns @ Steelers Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers -7
Browns @ Steelers Score Prediction: Pittsburgh 34 – Cleveland 6

BovadaThe Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants are set to kick off their Week 17 NFL betting clash on Sunday 12/30, and I’m set to make my football pick for the affair at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00 ET, and I’ve got the perfect NFL pick for this outstanding duel on the gridiron.

Philadelphia Eagles (4-11, 3-11-1 ATS) +7
New York Giants (8-7, 6-8-1 ATS) -7
Over/Under 46

Doesn’t this one feel a little bit like a swan song for this entire Eagles team? I know (and everyone else knows) that this is a team that is getting blown up once this game is over, but the talent is still there to put plenty of points on the board. QB Michael Vick isn’t any lesser of a quarterback now than he was at the start of the year before getting hurt and subsequently benched to see what QB Nick Foles can bring to the table. Vick is playing for a job next year as a starting quarterback and he knows it. WR Jeremy Maclin, RB LeSean McCoy… These are guys that have played in this rivalry series for quite some time, and they know what it takes to put points on the board.

This is the Super Bowl to the Eagles as well. Maclin has already stated this week that the team has been looking forward to this game for quite some time, and with a chance to put the final nail in New York’s coffin, it is a great opportunity for sure. The Giants need this one and need three other results to happen just to get into the playoffs, and though it isn’t likely to happen, there is no doubt about it if this one is ultimately lost.

Yes, the last two in this series have only featured 36 and 27 points, but this should still be a higher scoring affair as well for as poorly as the New York defense has played of late. There’s no reason to think that the G-Men under any circumstance will be able to win this game by more than two touchdowns, and there’s no reason to think that both teams won’t get into at least the high-teens in scoring as well.

Eagles @ Giants Tips: 7-point teaser – Eagles +14 w/ Over 39

Week 17 pointspreads are out, and here at Cappers Info, we are set to analyze the NFL odds for one of the top games on the slate. The Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings odds are posted, and we are set to make our NFL picks for another great game.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 4:25 ET
Location: Mall of America Field at the HHH Metrodome, Minneapolis, MN
Week 17 Betting Odds: Green Bay -3
Green Bay vs. Minnesota Live TV: FOX

As we see it, the Vikings are already going to know that they have to win this game to get into the playoffs, as we think that the Bears are going to beat the Lions in the 1:00 ET hour. Green Bay already basically knows that it has to have this game to lock up a first round bye in the playoffs, something that is incredibly coveted for all of the teams involved in this chase in both conferences. The Vikes came up with the game of their lives last week in Houston, but this is going to be a significantly tougher game. The Packers won 23-14 when these two teams met the first time around at Lambeau Field, and that was in spite of the fact that K Mason Crosby missed a field goal and that RB Adrian Peterson had 210 yards on the ground, 82 of which came on one carry. It just isn’t going to be the prettiest game in the world for Minnesota, and in the end, we think that Green Bay, which is quietly 9-1 in its last 10 games, will take this one and get next week off.

Packers @ Vikings Pick: Green Bay Packers -3
Packers @ Vikings Score Prediction: Green Bay 27 – Minnesota 16

The 2012 NFL schedule is back, and here at Cappers Info, we’ll be looking at some of the best games on the docket each and every week, as we try to make the most money possible off of the Week 17 odds for the NFL. Join us on Sunday, as we make our Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons free picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on the gridiron.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 1:00 ET
Location: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA
NFL Betting Odds: Atlanta -5
Buccaneers @ Falcons On TV: FOX

The Falcons have absolutely nothing to play for in the regular season finale, just like they did last year when they jumped out to a 42-0 lead and coasted to a 45-24 romp on the final day of the season against these same Bucs in this same venue. It is anyone’s guess how hard Atlanta is going to play in this one, but if we even get a half out of QB Matt Ryan and the gang, we have to think that that is going to be enough to win this game. The Bucs really don’t feel like they have “it” right now since losing to the Falcons back on November 25th. They have since gone 0-5 SU and 1-3-1 ATS, and that just doesn’t cut it at this level. It’s not quite the same epic fall that Tampa Bay had at the end of last season, but it is the same trend for sure. Perhaps this one won’t quite be so bad, but a win by a touchdown is every bit as good as a win by three scores or more.

Buccaneers @ Falcons Pick: Atlanta Falcons -5
Buccaneers @ Falcons Score Prediction: Atlanta 27 – Tampa Bay 21

5Dimes SportsbookOne of my favorite plays on the Sunday NFL odds pits the Washington Redskins against the Dallas Cowboys. These two are going to be meeting at 4:25 p.m. ET at FedEx Field, and I’m going to show you which side to make your NFL pick on for this great game.

Dallas Cowboys (8-7, 6-9 ATS) +3.5
Washington Redskins (9-6, 10-5 ATS) -3.5
Over/Under 49.5

As much as I hate to make a teaser play in a game like this one, I still think that it is the right play to make when push comes to shove. This is a traditional rivalry game that has featured the underdog covering five games in a row, and each of the five meetings have been decided by a touchdown or less. That means that Dallas is going to be off to a great start in this game at +10.5 in a teaser in a game that really feels like it should be lined at a pick ‘em and not at minus the value of home field advantage.

The first meeting of these two teams featured 69 total points, but I think that was a bit of an anomaly. Prior to that game, the seven games before that in this series averaged just 31.2 points per game, and that’s in spite of the fact that one of those games reached 66 total points in Big D in 2010. The games here in DC have all been relatively low scoring over the years as well, averaging just 33.1 points per game allowed in the last 11 years.

In the end, I just don’t know that QB Robert Griffin III is ready for this stage. I know what I’m getting out of QB Tony Romo. I’m getting a guy that is going to make this a close game and is liable to really screw the pooch in the end. As long as RB DeMarco Murray keeps getting the ball and Head Coach Jason Garrett doesn’t get too impatient, this should be a game that Dallas holds Washington in the 20s and keeps this one ‘under’ the teaser number as well.

Cowboys @ Redskins Tips: 7-point NFL Teaser – Dallas +10.5 w/ Under 56.5

December 30th, 2012 By Jack Wilshire

Of all of the games on the Sunday 12/30 Week 17 NFL betting schedule, one of my favorite is the clash between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions. Join me for my tips for this 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff that can be seen on FOX.

Chicago Bears (9-6, 7-8 ATS) -3
Detroit Lions (4-11, 5-10 ATS) +3
Over/Under 45

Predictability has gotten the Lions in trouble over the course of the last several games. They have tried their best to get the ball to WR Calvin Johnson so that he can break the record for the most receiving yards in a single season. He has the record, but now QB Matthew Stafford wants to make him the league’s first 2,000-yard receiver, and he himself wants to get to 5,000 yards for the second straight campaign. The end result in the last three games has been an average of just 16.0 points per game scored, most of which have come against teams that just don’t have the greatest defenses on the face of the earth.

The Bears of course, have no offense to work with whatsoever. QB Jay Cutler still stinks, and the team has scored an average of just 16.1 points per game over the course of the last seven games, in which the team has gone just 2-5 SU and ATS.

It’s just not a pretty spot for ‘over’ bettors to be in. So many will just blindly think that this will be a showcase between Megatron and WR Brandon Marshall, and they might be right. But even still, if both go off for a combined 400 yards and two TDs, there still has to be some points scored from somewhere else. There’s a reason that there were just 20 total points scored when these two teams met two months ago, and I expect to see a game that doesn’t feature a whole heck of a lot more than that on Sunday afternoon in the regular season finale for these NFC North rivals.

Bears @ Lions Tips: Under 45

The 2012 NFL season is back, and here at Cappers Info, we’ll be looking at some of the best games on the docket each and every week, as we try to make the most money possible off of the NFL odds for the week. Join us on Sunday, as we make our Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots free picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on the gridiron.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 4:25 ET
Location: Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA
NFL Betting Odds: New England -10.5
Dolphins vs. Patriots On TV: CBS

For whatever reason, the Dolphins have found a way to be a thorn in the side of the Patriots over the course of the last two years. No, they haven’t won a game in that stretch, but they have covered New England in the last two and have only been beaten by an average of 8.0 points per game in the last three games that these two have played. This is a huge game for QB Ryan Tannehill, as he would love to prove that he can go on the road and beat the Brady Bunch. New England is just too strong offensively to ultimately lose this game, but there is a chance that Head Coach Bill Belichick might be looking up at the scoreboard, seeing what’s going on in New England, and decide that it isn’t worth it to try hard in this one, provided that Houston wins in the 1:00 ET hour. There’s just too much risk here to lay double digits with the Patriots.

Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots Pick: Miami Dolphins +10.5
Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots Score Prediction: New England 24 – Miami 21

Join us on Sunday, as we make our Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts free picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on the gridiron.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 1:00 ET
Location: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN
NFL Betting Odds: Houston -7
Texans @ Colts On TV: CBS

This is arguably the toughest game to make a call on all year long. The Colts are going to have the emotional edge in this game, knowing that Head Coach Chuck Pagano is going to be back on the sidelines for the first time since early in the season. Barring a miracle, it is also the last home game of the season for Indy. The Texans have punted two of their last three games by at least 17 points apiece, but they still have a chance to lock down the No. 1 seed in the AFC if they can beat the Colts on Sunday. The problem that we have with the Colts is that they just haven’t played well against great teams this year. This is just the third game of the year against an AFC playoff team, and in the first two of those games, the Texans beat them up 29-17, and the New England Patriots pounded them 59-24. Can QB Andrew Luck pull it off? We’re not all that sure that he could, even if he were to play the full 60 minutes. And, with a game next week, likely in Baltimore, it would be really suspect if Pagano used his top guns for the full game just in the name of trying to keep the Texans out of the top seed in the conference.

Texans @ Colts Pick: Houston Texans -7
Texans @ Colts Score Prediction: Houston 30 – Indianapolis 20

NFL betting fans are running to their online sportsbooks to place their Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins bets and predictions, and here at Cappers Info, we are making our Sunday football picks for this encounter.

Week 17 Football Picks: Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 8:20 ET
Location: FedEx Field, Landover, MD
NFL Betting Lines: Washington -3
Cowboys vs. Redskins On TV: NBC

The last game of the regular season is going to be a do or die situation for both the Cowboys and the Redskins. The winner will be in the playoffs as the No. 4 seed in the NFC as the NFC East champs, while the loser will almost certainly be going home. The Skins have covered five in a row in this series dating back to the start of the 2010 season, including winning 38-31 in Arlington on Thanksgiving Day in a real bust out game for QB Robert Griffin III. There’s just a point that Washington has to crash back to earth, though, and that point has to be coming soon. QB Tony Romo and the offense have played exceptionally well over the course of the last few weeks, and in spite of the fact that last week’s game against the Saints was ultimately lost at home in overtime, we still think that this is a game that Romo can win. It will be a revitalizing game for the Dallas franchise, and it will be the one that ultimately gives Head Coach Jason Garrett a free pass into next season as the team’s head coach. There is nothing to be ashamed of if you’re the Redskins this year, knowing that they really came out of their bye week with their heads held high against some of the best that the NFL has to offer, but it just isn’t going to happen when push comes to shove.

Cowboys @ Redskins Pick: Dallas Cowboys +3
Dallas @ Washington Score Prediction: Dallas 27 – Washington 21

Week 17 pointspreads are out, and here at Cappers Info, we are set to analyze the NFL odds for one of the top games on the slate. The Carolina Panthers vs. New Orleans Saints odds are posted, and we are set to make our NFL picks for another great game.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 1:00 ET
Location: Mercedes Benz Superdome, New Orleans, LA
Week 17 Betting Odds: New Orleans -4.5
Carolina vs. New Orleans Live TV: FOX

The Panthers and the Saints figure to be involved in a shootout in this one, but we aren’t all that sure that the Saints are really going to care all that much once QB Drew Brees gets his 40th touchdown pass and his 5,000th passing yard for the year. In fact, we wouldn’t be all that surprised if he sits once he reaches those milestones. Carolina on the other hand, is still trying to prove to itself and to the rest of the league that it can truly play, and it has done so over the course of the last several weeks, winning three straight games both SU and ATS. QB Cam Newton is playing the best and most efficient football of his career at the moment, and he should be in for a big time day against a hapless New Orleans defense that wasn’t able to stop him the first time around. This is a game that is screaming to be an upset.

Panthers @ Saints Pick: Carolina Panthers +4.5
Panthers @ Saints Score Prediction: Carolina 31 – New Orleans 24

Week 17 pointspreads are out, and here at Cappers Info, we are set to analyze the NFL odds for one of the top games on the slate. The Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans odds are posted, and we are set to make our NFL picks for another great game.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 1:00 ET
Location: LP Field, Nashville, TN
Week 17 Betting Odds: Tennessee -4
Jacksonville vs. Tennessee Live TV: CBS

The Jaguars won the first go around with these two teams this year, taking the game in the Sunshine State 24-19 the weekend after Thanksgiving. It wasn’t the prettiest game in the world, knowing that there were just a total of 681 yards of offense in the game, but it did mark the fourth straight cover and the third win in four games in this series for the Jags. Tennessee clearly has given up on the season, as demonstrated by the fact that it allowed 55 points last week to the Green Bay Packers, marking the sixth loss of the year by at least three touchdowns. The one thing that we have consistently said about the Jags all year long is that they are fighting hard, and they did so last week against the New England Patriots in the home finale as well. There’s no reason to believe that the team won’t put its best foot forward in this one and at least find a way to stick within the number, even if the Titans do ultimately pull out the SU victory.

Jaguars @ Titans Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars +4
Jaguars @ Titans Score Prediction: Tennessee 17 – Jacksonville 14

The 2012 NFL season is back, and here at Cappers Info, we’ll be looking at some of the best games on the docket each and every week, as we try to make the most money possible off of the NFL odds for the week. Join us on Sunday, as we make our Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants free picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on the gridiron.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants
Date: Sunday, December 30th, 1:00 ET
Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
NFL Betting Odds: New York -7
Eagles vs. Giants On TV: FOX

The Giants need a win and a miracle to get into the playoffs this week, and we just don’t see how it is all happening when push comes to shove. New York’s defense has been atrocious this year to the point that the club hasn’t won a game in which it hasn’t scored at least 26 points. Getting to the 26 isn’t going to be a problem against a Philly defense that has been atrocious all year long. Look out for QB Michael Vick, though. Vick is back in the saddle, taking over for an injured QB Nick Foles, and this is his last chance to prove to some team (paying attention New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals?) that he has what it takes to get the job done as a starter in this league. Vick has a good history playing against the Giants, and Philly’s entire season has really boiled down to whether it can spoil the season for the defending Super Bowl champs. New York has packed it in to the point that this game is going to end up in an upset in favor of the visitors.

Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants Pick: Philadelphia Eagles +7
Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants Score Prediction: Philadelphia 33 – New York 28
