The Terrapins have to be a bit disappointed that they weren’t able to get the job done in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament against North Carolina, because if that game were won, this would probably be a team that was playing in Dayton right now instead of at home against a fellow disappointment team. Niagara loves to run up and down the court, but the team just doesn’t play any defense whatsoever, allowing a ton of points on the average night. Maryland’s C Alex Len isn’t going to have anywhere near an equal on the court in this one, as the Purple Eagles don’t have any height in their front line. This is a team that gets outrebounded by a ton of the top teams that it has played this season, and that won’t cut it on the road at the Comcast Center. As always in the NIT, there is a huge fear that home team isn’t going to show up. In this case though, we think that Maryland is playing well enough to know that it can legitimately win this thing. G Dez Wells and the crew won’t want to go out like this at home, and this will be a game that gets taken control of in a hurry by the hosts.
