The 2012 NBA Championship could be handed out on Thursday night in South Beach, where the Miami Heat look to close out the Oklahoma City Thunder for their first championship since the Super Friends were assembled. Don’t miss our NBA Finals picks for Game 5 in what should be a great NBA betting showdown.

NBA Matchup: #2 Oklahoma City Thunder @ #2 Miami Heat Game 5
Date: Thursday, June 21st, 9:00 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA Playoffs Odds: Miami -3
NBA TV Schedule: ABC

The Thunder have had their chances in virtually every game in this series to come away with a victory, but it seems like every single time that they end up getting a bit of an edge, something happens terrible to them that ends up making the difference. The Heat have found a way to win three in a row in this series, and LeBron James really has been the reason. He is going to be the NBA Finals MVP if Miami closes this one out on Thursday at the American Airlines Arena, as he followed up his two best personal scoring games in NBA Finals history with a Game 4 near-miss of a triple-double, scoring 26 points, dishing out 12 assists, and pulling down nine boards. It seems like someone big steps up for Miami every single night outside of the Big Three, while LeBron has just been on fire. That being said, we still think that we want the points on our side, as it seems to be a matter of time until King James has a bad game, and Mario Chalmers or Shane Battier doesn’t knock down a slew of those outside shots that have been changing the series. No team has ever come back from down 3-1 in the NBA Finals to win the series, but the Thunder definitely aren’t out of this quite yet.

The 2012 NBA Finals schedule continues on Sunday in South Beach, where the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder are both going to look to make great NBA Finals pick in what should be a great Game 3 of this championship series.

NBA Matchup: #2 Oklahoma City Thunder @ #2 Miami Heat Game 3
Date: Sunday, June 17th, 8:00 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA Playoffs Odds: Miami -4
NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

The big question that we have had to ask in this series for the most part is which set of role players would be showing up for each game. In Game 1, it Oklahoma City that got some great contributions from the likes of Nick Collison, Thabo Sefolosha, and the likes, and that’s probably why it got the best of the Heat in Game 1. Meanwhile, it was Shane Battier that really had the big time game in Game 2, scoring 17 points for the second straight game to lead Miami to a victory. LeBron James has played out of his mind, scoring 62 points in two games. Chris Bosh apparently is healthy enough to play 41 minutes and log 16 points and 15 boards as well. In the end, someone is going to have to step up for Oklahoma City and knock down some shots outside of Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and James Harden. We have seen this team play well on the road this year in the postseason, and we think that giving the Thunder a four-point head start is just too much even though the Heat are a remarkable team here at the American Airlines Arena.

The 2012 NBA Finals continue on Thursday, and here at Cappers Info, we are making our Game 2 picks for the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat!

NBA Matchup: #2 Miami Heat @ #2 Oklahoma City Thunder Game 2
Date: Thursday, June 14th, 9:00 p.m. (ET)
Location: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
NBA Playoffs Odds: Oklahoma City -5.5
NBA TV Schedule: ABC

The Heat really had Oklahoma City by the neck in Game 1 of this series through the first 30 minutes or so before the tide started to turn and the Thunder started making some big time shots. Kevin Durant ended the night with 36 points, while Russell Westbrook had 27. Nick Collison knocked down some big shots off of the bench, and he actually led the team in rebounding with 10 boards. Thabo Sefolosha also had a great day starting at the off guard spot. There is a real question whether Miami is truly good enough to win too many games in this series. Chris Bosh only had 10 points, but Shane Battier had 17, Mario Chalmers had a dozen, and LeBron James had 30. Sure, Dwyane Wade could do more than come up with his 19 points and eight assists, but in the end, we really couldn’t have asked for all that much more out of the Heat in this first game. That being said, that’s why we’re going with the Thunder to take this series back to South Beach with a commanding 2-0 lead, which will put all the pressure in the world on the back to back Eastern Conference champions on the road to the NBA Finals.

And then there were two… The Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be battling it out on the NBA Finals odds starting on Tuesday night. These are two of the most talented teams that we have seen in the league this year, and in this marathon of a season comes to a close, it is clear that one of these clubs is going to be well deserving champions.

#2 Miami Heat vs. #1 Oklahoma City Thunder Series Preview & Pick

We hate to think of this game as the “old guard” against the “new guard,” but that’s almost what this looks like. Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James were here with the Heat last year, and these stars are in the middling stages of their careers. Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, and James Harden have all been growing up together over the course of the last few years, and the team is now just four wins short of the ultimate reward, winning the NBA Championship. Remember that this team was atrocious just four years ago. Then came the first round of the playoffs. Then came the Western Conference Finals. And now, the Thunder are here in the NBA Finals for the first time since moving to Oklahoma City and the second time in the history of the franchise.

The Heat are clearly one of the best teams in the league and have been the favorites to win the NBA Finals for really the last two years. Of course, getting the Super Friends together was supposed to be the key to winning title after title in South Beach, but in the end, if this is the second straight year that Miami gets into the NBA Finals, only to lose, there would be a lot of explaining to do.

LeBron is coming off of a big time end of this series against the Boston Celtics. He scored 45 points against the C’s in Game 6 on the road, and then he came home and scored 31 points and had 12 boards in the series-clinching victory. D-Wade had a much better go of it in Game 7 than he did in Game 6, scoring 23 points, and Bosh had 19 points and eight boards off of the bench. That being said, the rest of the role players for this team just haven’t been all that remarkable, and that was what really killed the Heat last year. Will Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem, Shane Battier, Mike Miller, James Jones, and the likes be able to step up their game and help this team out? That might be the big question right now in this series.

Meanwhile for Oklahoma City, the key is going to be the help around Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden. These three are the key cogs for this roster, and they do the majority of the scoring for the club, but what we have seen here in the playoffs is all sorts of other players stepping up to the task. Thabo Sefolosha, Serge Ibaka, and Kendrick Perkins did tremendously against the Spurs, and it can’t be underestimated just how important Derek Fisher has been to the club as well.

This really should be a fantastic series. Both of these teams have the ability to get the job done, but in the end, we think that home court advantage is going to work to the edge of Oklahoma City. Take the Thunder in a relatively long series.

The 2012 NBA Finals are about set to get underway on Tuesday, and here at Cappers Info, we are making our Game 1 picks for the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat!

NBA Matchup: #2 Miami Heat @ #2 Oklahoma City Thunder Game 1
Date: Tuesday, June 12th, 9:00 p.m. (ET)
Location: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
NBA Playoffs Odds: Oklahoma City -4.5
NBA TV Schedule: ABC

Game 1 between the Thunder and the Heat should be a very, very interesting outing. The Thunder have had some relatively quiet days off, and they have been waiting for the Heat. Is that the best thing in the world? Remember when Oklahoma City had a week off waiting for the Western Conference Finals, it was beaten by the San Antonio Spurs in the first two games of the series. In the end though, we have to remember that the Thunder haven’t been beaten yet at home in the playoffs. They might be the better of these two teams, especially knowing that Chris Bosh really doesn’t appear to be all that healthy right now, and parlay in home court advantage, don’t be shocked if the hosts put a whooping on the Heat in Game 1.

The last spot in the NBA Finals is going to be up for grabs on Saturday night in South Beach, and we are set to make our NBA picks for the pivotal Game 7 between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics.

NBA Matchup: #4 Boston Celtics @ #2 Miami Heat Game 7
Date: Saturday, June 9th, 8:30 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA Playoffs Odds: Miami -8
NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

They say that a series doesn’t start until a team wins on the road. Now, both Miami and Boston know what it feels like to win a game in this series on the other team’s court. The Celtics are going to have to do it again if they are going to make it to the NBA Finals after blowing that home court advantage on Friday night at home. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce absolutely have to play better than they did in that game to keep this one remotely close, and it is going to take another Herculean effort, probably for right around the full 48 minutes for Rajon Rondo as well. But of course, if LeBron James plays like he did on Friday, there isn’t a man that is going to be able to stop him. He was just remarkable in that 45-point outing, but it looked a lot like the LeBron that had to carry the Cleveland Cavaliers for all those years around him and not this Miami team that was assembled to do nothing but win and win right now. In the end, we expect this game to be close. We wouldn’t be all that surprised if the Celtics found a way to pull off the upset, and we definitely want the points on our side.

The Boston Celtics can make their way to the NBA Finals betting festivities on Thursday night on their home court, as they have pushed the Miami Heat to the brink. Join us for our NBA free picks for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals!

NBA Matchup: #2 Miami Heat @ #4 Boston Celtics Game 6
Date: Sunday, June 7th, 8:30 p.m. (ET)
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NBA Playoffs Odds: Miami -1.5
NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

The Celtics really know that this is the game that they have to win. They fought hard just to make it to this point in this series, and after finally winning the elusive game on the road in South Beach, this is one that cannot be choked away. Miami is expecting to put Chris Bosh back in the starting lineup, which really might help for a team that has been badly beaten in the paint for most of this series. This is the game that LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were brought to South Beach for. The Heat need them and need them badly, or they could really put up under a big time microscope. Remember all those titles that they promised? Yeah… not so much. Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett are playing out of their skulls right now, but we still think that the Heat are the beasts of the East. They’ll come out and beat the C’s at the TD Garden, and then come back home and find their way into the NBA Finals to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are on a roll, and they now have three straight wins against the San Antonio Spurs. Are they on their way to their first ever NBA Finals? Check out our Western Conference Finals NBA playoff picks for this potential close out game for the Thunder and Spurs on Wednesday night!

NBA Matchup: #1 San Antonio Spurs @ #2 Oklahoma City Thunder Game 6
Date: Wednesday, June 6th, 9:00 ET
Location: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
NBA Playoffs Odds: Oklahoma City -5
NBA TV Schedule: TNT

After really getting stymied over the course of the first two games of this series, the Thunder have just stormed back and figured out how to make the most out of their opportunities against a San Antonio team that is finally starting to show its age and perhaps its lack of experience. Game 5 marked the very first time that we saw the bench and role players fail the Spurs miserably. Manu Ginobili started the game, and the usual starter, Danny Green played just four minutes and didn’t log a single point. Manu though, had 34, and he was really the only man that was keeping the team in the game. Still, 21 turnovers for the Spurs shouldn’t happen again. On the other side of the court, we are really worried about the physicality of the Thunder. They have had just a total of 12 offensive rebounds in the last two games, and they are getting beaten to death on the boards by San Antonio. Can they figure out how to win this one at home? That really might be the case, but in the end, we are still going to want the points on our side, just as we have had for this entire series.

On Tuesday night, the NBA playoffs continue with Game 5 of the much anticipated Eastern Conference Finals. Join us for our free NBA picks for the fifth duel of the Eastern Conference Finals in South Beach between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics.

NBA Matchup: #4 Boston Celtics @ #2 Miami Heat Game 5
Date: Tuesday, June 5th, 8:30 ET
Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
NBA Playoffs Odds: Miami -8
NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

We have seen a bunch of points scored in this series over the course of the last few games, yet we have not really seen the ‘total’ take all that much of a rise. In this one though, we are convinced that the two defenses are going to once again step it up. The two teams haven’t been shooting the ball all that well, and there aren’t a ton of second chance opportunities. Neither team is stroking it from beyond the arc all that well, and there have to be some tremendously tired legs after playing Game 4 on Sunday night and then traveling all the way back to South Beach. These are two teams that have been through a grueling season, and this series has to really be taking its toll on both squads. After watching six different players go through 43+ minutes on the court between the two sides on Sunday, this one should stay beneath the ‘total’.

The Western Conference Finals is now essentially a best-of-three series, which will start on Monday night in the Lone Star State. Join us for 2012 NBA playoff picks for the Game 5 duel between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs.

NBA Matchup: #2 Oklahoma City Thunder @ #1 San Antonio Spurs Game 5
Date: Monday, June 4th, 9:00 p.m. (ET)
Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX
NBA Playoffs Odds: San Antonio -5
NBA TV Schedule: TNT

The Thunder have officially struck back. They really did everything right in their two home games to erase this 2-0 series deficit that they built for themselves here at the AT&T Center. Still, we really think that the Spurs are the better of these two teams, and especially on the road, we just don’t know if Kevin Durant is going to be able to go on a personal run like he did at the end of the game on Saturday against this San Antonio defense. Getting back home is probably going to be just what the doctor ordered for the Spurs, and though we are afraid to be laying much in the way of points in this series, we do think that this is the spot to lay the lumber with the hosts. Remember that the Spurs are 34-5 this year at home from an SU standpoint, and this just isn’t all that many points to be laying for a team that we still think is the superior club when push comes to shove.

After watching the Western Conference Finals get leveled at two games apiece, the Boston Celtics are going to look to do the exact same thing in the Eastern Conference Finals in NBA betting action this weekend against the Miami Heat. Join our expert NBA handicappers at Cappers Info for our Game 4 Eastern Conference Finals picks!

NBA Matchup: #2 Miami Heat @ #4 Boston Celtics Game 4
Date: Sunday, June 3rd, 8:30 p.m. (ET)
Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
NBA Playoffs Odds: Miami -1
NBA TV Schedule: ESPN

The Celtics really have done everything that they can over the course of the last two games to just barely stick around with the Heat. Were they the better side in Game 3? Absolutely. But do we think that Ray Allen is going to be able to play 38 minutes without being a humongous defensive liability? Do we think that Paul Pierce is going to go off for 24 points again? Do we think that Kevin Garnett is going to be able to take care of the bigs for the Heat on both sides of the court? No. No. And no. In the end, Miami is still the better of these teams, and Dwyane Wade probably isn’t going to go the entire game without getting to the charity stripe. LeBron James isn’t going to shoot 1-of-5 from the stripe either, and the team as a whole won’t go 10-of-20. Even going 17-of-20 would have made that game a heck of a lot closer on Friday night. In the end, Miami is the better team for sure, and we think that the oddsmakers are spot on with the fact that the Heat have become the favorites for this game after being mediocre in Game 3.

Now a lot more of a series, the Oklahoma City Thunder will look to level matters with the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. Check out the NBA betting odds for this game, as we make our Western Conference Finals Game 4 picks!

NBA Matchup: #1 San Antonio Spurs @ #2 Oklahoma City Thunder Game 4
Date: Saturday, June 2nd, 8:30 ET
Location: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
NBA Playoffs Odds: Oklahoma City -4
NBA TV Schedule: TNT

We always warn bettors here at Cappers Info about overreactions. We just don’t like them to say the least. We think that Saturday’s NBA point spread is a crucial mistake by the oddsmakers and is a typical overcompensation for a game that was a statistical anomaly in Game 3. The Thunder were just about as perfect as perfect could be in the middle 24 minutes of the game on Thursday night, and the end result was a 20-point victory to end the Spurs’ 20-game winning streak. That being said, it was a perfect situation for Oklahoma City to do some damage. The team knew that it needed that win, and it was feeding off of a home crowd that it hasn’t lost in front of yet in the playoffs this year. The Spurs had to be getting exhausted, and they were just due to lose a game. Still, we’ve seen this plot before. Head Coach Gregg Popovich took all of his stars out of this game in the third quarter and never put them back in the fold. That being said, they really did basically rest up for another go at it on Saturday night. What will we see this time around? A lot healthier and a lot more careful San Antonio team, that finally has been handed a loss, being given the wakeup call that was needed to essentially issue the death shot to the Thunder. It’s ridiculous that the Spurs are the underdog in this game in our eyes.

NBA Free Pick: San Antonio Spurs +4
