Round of 64 Betting Lines
#12 Oregon Ducks +3
#5 Oklahoma State Cowboys -3
Over/Under 135

The Ducks and the Cowboys are two very dangerous teams here in the Midwest Region, and neither can be overly happy about seeing the other on their bracket on the first full day of the tournament. We really liked this Oregon team up to the point that it lost G Dominic Artis to an ankle injury. He is back in the fold, but he clearly isn’t the same to the point that Head Coach Dana Altman hasn’t even been using him in the most vital of situations that the Ducks have found themselves in. That’s really bad news for the U of O for sure. The Pokes came through a nasty Big XII this year to be on the No. 5 line, probably just a tad high for what they deserved. Still, this is a lineup that is just chock full of guards and little guys, and this is how you pull off big wins in the dance. G Marcus Smart and G Markel Brown are set to blast off and become superstars at the collegiate ranks as we see it, and we think that this is just the first in a number of steps that will be taken in their careers for the Cowboys. In the end, the offense for Oklahoma State is just too good. Oregon has been far too inconsistent against generally lesser teams in the Pac-12 for us to want to back it in this matchup.

Oklahoma State is a team that has really come out of nowhere over the course of the last few weeks to get potentially as high as the Top 4 lines in the NCAA Tournament. The Pokes had the Baylor Bears dead to rights before letting them get back into the game at the gun on Thursday, but that was to be expected with Baylor fighting for its right to get into the dance. Kansas State meanwhile, had no troubles getting past the Texas Longhorns and into this semifinal. The Wildcats have only been beaten once since February 11th, but that came at the hands of this Okie State outfit. In that game, the Cowboys survived in spite of the fact that G Rodney McGruder scored 22 for the Cats. Oklahoma State was the aggressive team and got to the charity stripe a whopping 30 times on the game. If that’s how the Cowboys are going to play this one, they’re going to end up pulling out yet another crucial victory to move one step closer to the Big XII title.

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Thursday night. The Oklahoma State Cowboys and Baylor Bears will have it the Big XII Tournament Second Round, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on Big XII Network.

Big XII Tournament Second Round Picks: Baylor Bears vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Date: Thursday, March 14th, 9:30 ET
Location: Sprint Center, Kansas City, MO
Baylor vs. Oklahoma State Live TV: Big XII Network

This is one of these games that could be brutal for the bubble. Oklahoma State clearly doesn’t have any troubles right now, knowing that it is going to be one of the top seeds in the NCAA Tournament. However, the rest of the bubble is going to be paying close attention, knowing that Baylor is going to be one of those teams that could play its way into the tourney, or play its way out. Losing this game would likely be the end of the season for the Bears, so this game is of utmost importance. The Cowboys have consistently been one of the highest scoring teams in the Big XII outside of Iowa State, and we think that it is ridiculous that they are only laying two and a half against a Baylor team that has been insanely inconsistent this year. When you look back at Baylor this year, the team just hasn’t beaten anyone notable. Sure, there was that blowout victory over Kansas to end the regular season, but the last win for the Bears of any note came way back on January 21st. We do have to note that Baylor beat Okie State and home and lost in overtime in Stillwater, but we think that this is a matter of revenge for the Cowboys, who will end the Bears’ season.

Baylor vs. Oklahoma State Pick: Oklahoma State Cowboys -2.5
Big XII Second Round Prediction: Oklahoma State 73 – Baylor 66

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Saturday night. The West Virginia Mountaineers and Oklahoma State Cowboys will have it in a nationally televised game, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on ESPN.

Free College Hoops Picks: Oklahoma State Cowboys @ West Virginia Mountaineers
Date: Saturday, February 23rd, 2:00 ET
Location: WVU Coliseum, Morgantown, WV
Oklahoma State vs. West Virginia Live TV: ESPN2

This is a very tricky game for the Cowboys, and we think that they could ultimately get the shaft in this one and be bounced out of the Top 25 as a result. Oklahoma State has had it rough over the course of the last few games, beating Oklahoma in overtime and losing a nail biter in two overtimes against Kansas during the week. Getting up for a road game in Morgantown is going to be tough. The truth of the matter is that the Mountaineers haven’t played terrible basketball of late and are quietly back to .500. They don’t have a big time win over one of the big boys in the Big XII, but they did lose to Kansas by just five and Kansas State by just a point in this building, and they have only suffered one blowout loss at home at the hands of the Sooners back on January 5th. The ‘Neers are a strong defensive outfit that really could frustrate the heck out of the Pokes, and we think that the oddsmakers are trying to bait you to take the visitors as short favorites. We aren’t buying it. Take WVU.

Oklahoma State vs. West Virginia Pick: West Virginia Mountaineers +3
Oklahoma State vs. West Virginia Prediction: West Virginia 69 – Oklahoma State 67

The Cowboys were clearly caught just a bit with their pants down when they were down eight at halftime against the Oklahoma Sooners over the weekend. This was clearly a case of the team looking ahead to the showdown with Kansas. Some extra effort had to be exerted to get back into that game, and that could make a difference in this one on Wednesday. Kansas is playing some angry basketball right now, and it has the look of a team that might not lose another game this year. The Jayhawks have 20+ point victories over both the Kansas State Wildcats and the Texas Longhorns, and they are going to want this one in a bad way, knowing that the Pokes are the only team in the last 36 games to have won at Phog Allen Fieldhouse. The defense for KU is what is really making the difference right now. Oklahoma State is going to try to run to get into the 80s for the second time this year against the boys from Lawrence, but it just isn’t going to happen. In the end, this is Kansas’ game to lose, and it is going to storm to first place in the Big XII with a win in this game in comfortable fashion.

Kansas vs. Oklahoma State Pick: Kansas Jayhawks +1
Kansas vs. Oklahoma State Prediction: Kansas 75 – Oklahoma State 66

Okie State is now the talk of the town after it went on the road over the weekend and upset the Kansas Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse. This went from a team that could have been on the bubble to one that is definitively going to make the dance with just that one victory, even though it was the first win that the team had on the road all season long. Now it’s back home to take on a Baylor team that could be floating around on the bubble as well. We’re puzzled by the relatively low ‘total’ in this game. If you look back at the last three Baylor games, they have reached 150, 145, and 138 points. If you see the last few Okie State games, you see 185, 154, and 146 points. Sure, both of these teams have the ability to play some defense, but we still think that the offense’s values overshadow all. Don’t believe us? Just look at that 85 that the Pokes put up on the Jayhawks, who arguably have the best defensive team in America. Look at that 64-54 meeting from when these two teams played each other the first time around as a face, as there should be a heck of a lot more on the board this time around when these two go at it tonight.

Baylor vs. Oklahoma State Pick: Over 137
Baylor vs. Oklahoma State Prediction: Oklahoma State 76 – Baylor 70

The Heart of Dallas Bowl is one of the games on the college football bowl schedule this year, and today, I’m set to make my NCAA football pointspread picks for the ‘total’ in this clash. The Purdue Boilermakers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are going to do battle at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, TX. Join me for my Heart of Dallas Bowl tips for this 12:00 p.m. ET kickoff that can be seen on ESPNU.

When I look at the Heart of Dallas Bowl, I immediately think about the bowl game between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. I was one of the many that really thought that the Gophers would have to win a low scoring game if they were to do it, but instead, they were able to stand toe to toe with one of the top offenses in the country. They came up short, but there was really never a doubt that the Gophers were going to stay in front of the college football bowl game odds. This really looks like the exact same game to me.

2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl
Purdue Boilermakers (6-6, 6-6 ATS) +17
Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-5, 6-5 ATS) -17
Over/Under 70

There’s nothing that isn’t below average about the Boilermakers. Their offense was shaky, their defense was shaky, they don’t have a quarterback that can light it up, they don’t have any big time receivers that you know can put up 100 yards at the drop of a hat, and they don’t have a rusher that averaged even 75 yards per game this year. That all really doesn’t bode well. What I do see though, is that QB Robert Marve really did a nice job hanging onto the football this year. He only threw three picks, and he and QB Caleb TerBush did a great job competing with some of the best teams on Purdue’s schedule this year.

And of course, there are the Cowboys, who just fly up and down the field with ease every single drive. They have put up 41 and 36 points over the course of their last two bowl games, and there is no reason to think that they aren’t going to score at least 40 again in this one after averaging over 44 points per game on the season. The big question though, is whether the Boilers are going to be able to keep up. If the answer to that question is yes, just as I suspect it is, this is a game that should ultimately go flying past the ‘total’ when push comes to shove.

The Heart of Dallas Bowl is one of the great games of the season on the 2013 bowl schedule, and today, we are making our Purdue vs. Oklahoma State picks and predictions and trying to beat the Heart of Dallas Bowl odds here at Cappers Info.

Heart of Dallas Bowl Picks: Purdue Boilermakers vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Date: Tuesday, January 1st, 12:00 ET
Location: Cotton Bowl Stadium, Dallas, TX
Heart of Dallas Bowl Betting Odds: Oklahoma State -17
Purdue vs. Oklahoma State Live TV Coverage: ESPNU

Purdue was one of the last teams to qualify for a bowl game this year, and the Heart of Dallas Bowl betting lines suggest just that. The team fired its head coach right after the season and is more or less going to go limping into this game, and that’s why it is the biggest underdog on the bowl betting lines this year. Oklahoma State did win just one more game than the Boilermakers did. However, the Pokes clearly have the better of these two sides and can shoot it out with anyone in the nation.

We’re a bit bothered by the fact that this point spread is so high, though. The Cowboys did win their share of games this year by at least three scores, but down the stretch of the season, they were beaten in three of their final five games, including losing a tight one to the Oklahoma Sooners in overtime in Bedlam. Seemingly every close game that the club played was lost, and the only exception was the game against the Kansas Jayhawks, who were the doormats of the Big XII all year long. Head Coach Mike Gundy knows that he has an offense that can get some things done, as the team averaged 548.9 yards and 44.7 points per game, but there are some real questions about his defense as well.

We really think that this is something that Purdue can take advantage of. QB Robert Marve played well down the stretch, and he only had three picks against 13 TDs. None of the receivers on this team were really all that great, but none of the rushers were either. Then again, when we look at this Purdue team, we see nothing but the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who nearly pulled off a huge upset in their bowl game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders earlier this year. We’re not saying that Purdue is going to pull off the upset, but we do think that this is just a mammoth amount of points to be giving any reasonable team against any other team that just isn’t one of the best 10 in the country this year. The Boilers challenged Notre Dame in South Bend, and they’ll challenge the Pokes as well.

Purdue vs. Oklahoma State Pick: Purdue Boilermakers +17
Heart of Dallas Bowl Score Prediction: Oklahoma State 35 – Purdue 31

BovadaThe Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Baylor Bears are set to kick off their college football clash on Saturday 12/1, and I’m set to make my college football pick for the affair at Floyd Casey Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12:00 ET, and I’ve got the perfect NCAA football pick for this outstanding clash.

Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-4, 6-4 ATS) -5
Baylor Bears (6-5, 7-4 ATS) +5
Over/Under 88

There is absolutely no denying the fact that Oklahoma State and Baylor have two of the best offenses in America this year. They can both run up and down the field, and neither one is ever out of a game. But’s let’s be realistic about this. This is the highest ‘total’ that has ever been posted in a college football game, and it’s the highest number by a solid four points.

Remember that the Bears have at least shown the ability to somewhat slow games teams down, having allowed just a total of 38 points to the two Kansas schools. It’s going to require allowing at least 40 in this one for the ‘total’ to even be threatened, and it might take 50. Think about that for a second. Fifty points, and that’s only an average game.

It’s just an insane number to try to shoot at. I know that over the course of the last few weeks, we’ve seen four straight ‘overs’ by Okie State and three straight ‘overs’ for Baylor, and all seven games have featured ‘totals’ of at least 68 points. I get it. I really do. I also know that in the last five meetings of these two rivals, not one has exceeded 83 points. I believe 83. I just don’t believe 88.

Oklahoma State vs. Baylor Tips: Under 88

Week 13 pointspreads are out, and here at Cappers Info, we are set to analyze the college football odds for one of the top games on the slate. The Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Oklahoma Sooners odds are posted, and we are set to make our CFB picks for another great game.

Week 13 College Football Picks: Oklahoma State Cowboys @ Oklahoma Sooners
Date: Saturday, November 24th, 3:30 ET
Location: Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, Norman, OK
CFB Betting Odds: Oklahoma -6.5
Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma Live TV: ESPN

It’s Bedlam in Norman, and it’s going to be a game to remember for sure. However, we’re not all that sure that the ‘total’ in this game has been set properly. QB Landry Jones just hasn’t had a fantastic senior year, and Oklahoma State has been through three different quarterbacks. This series has had its share of high scoring games for sure, but the 47-41 and 61-41 games over the course of the last few years overshadow the fact that the other most recent four games in the last six years have all failed to reach the ‘total’. Getting to 72 points is asking a whole heck of a lot for these teams even though both have reached the ‘over’ in three straight contests coming into this one. With the rivalry in full force though, there’s no reason to not think that this won’t be a much better defensive showdown.

Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma Pick: Under 72
Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma Score Prediction: Oklahoma 34 – Oklahoma State 28

College football betting fans are running to their online sportsbooks to place their Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Kansas State bets and predictions, and here at Cappers Info, we are making our Saturday football picks for this encounter.

Week 10 College Football Picks: Oklahoma State Cowboys @ Kansas State Wildcats
Date: Saturday, November 3rd, 8:00 ET
Location: Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Manhattan, KS
CFB Betting Odds: Kansas State -8
Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State Live TV: ABC

We’re smelling an upset in the cards in this one in the Little Apple on Saturday night. The Wildcats are coming into this one on the high of having dominated back to back Top 20 opponents by 31 and 41 points respectively, but the oddsmakers are still only favoring them by just over a touchdown against a very stingy Oklahoma State team. Remember that the Cowboys are arguably a bad call away from being a 6-1 team with a Top 15, maybe even a Top 10 ranking, and they have the ability to get the ball up the field in a hurry. Sure, we know that a lot of these numbers are fabricated from beating up atrocious teams, but RB Joseph Randle and the gang are going to get points on the board, even without QB J.W. Walsh playing. QB Wes Lunt is more than capable. QB Collin Klein needs to see what adversity really looks like, and he is going to get it on Saturday night in all likelihood. This has become the de facto game of the year aside from Bedlam for the Cowboys, and they might be good enough to pull off the upset.

Week 5 pointspreads are out, and here at Cappers Info, we are set to analyze the college football odds for one of the top games on the slate. The Texas Longhorns vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys odds are posted, and we are set to make our CFB picks for another great game.

Week 5 College Football Picks: Texas Longhorns @ Oklahoma State Cowboys
Date: Saturday, September 29th, 7:50 ET
Location: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, OK
CFB Betting Odds: Texas -2.5
Texas vs. Oklahoma State Live TV: FOX

It’s time for some payback of epic proportions here for the Longhorns. They have been beaten and beaten twice in a row in this series, and both of the losses came in Austin, much to the chagrin of the fans wearing burnt orange. Many think that the Cowboys are for real this year, but count us amongst the ones that think they are nothing more than an 8-4 team putting up the numbers of a 10-2 team thanks to the fact that they haven’t played a real defense this year. Now, they get a defense coming to town, and Head Coach Mack Brown is going to make sure that his unit shuts down the Pokes no matter which quarterback Head Coach Mike Gundy is going to send its way. In fact, we think that this one has the potential to get quite ugly as well.

Texas @ Oklahoma State Pick: Texas -2.5
Texas @ Oklahoma State Score Prediction: Texas 48 – Oklahoma State 27
