We’ve got our dancing shoes on once again here at Cappers Info, and that means that it’s time for the NCAA Tournament picks to continue. Our next set of March Madness Bracket Predictions take us to the Final Four, where the #4 Michigan Wolverines and the #4 Syracuse Orange meet in the Final Four.

Final Four Picks: #4 Michigan Wolverines vs. #4 Syracuse Orange

Final Four Betting Lines
#4 Michigan Wolverines -2
#4 Syracuse Orange +2
Over/Under 131

The Wolverines and the Orange both feel like they are more or less touched teams right now. Syracuse has driven into the Final Four in what could be the last season for Head Coach Jim Boeheim before he hangs it up, and the team has truly been one of the most explosive defensively that we have seen in years at this level. Michigan has figured out how to knock down miraculous shot after miraculous shot, and it just doesn’t seem like there is a defense in the land that can get in front of this team. Here’s the only difference that we see, though. The Wolverines are going to want to push the tempo just a bit, something that the Orange just won’t let them do. The Marquette Golden Eagles tried their best to do it, and they were held to just 39 points in the process. Granted, we don’t really believe that Big Blue is going to be held in the 30s in this one, but we just don’t know if they are going to be able to win a defensive showdown with the ‘Cuse. Michigan doesn’t have a great history of playing in these defensive showdowns, and though it was able to get the job done against a somewhat similar Kansas Jayhawks team in the Sweet 16, it was able to push the game to the tempo that it wanted for much of the second half. As long as the ‘Cuse don’t get out of their game, they should win this one and march onto the NCAA Championship Game on Monday.

Elite 8 Betting Lines
#4 Syracuse Orange OTB
#3 Marquette Golden Eagles OTB
Over/Under OTB

Saturday’s Elite Eight showdown at the Verizon Center is an all-Big East affair, and it really only seems to be fitting for that to be the case, knowing that this game is played in Big East country. Marquette is a team that really does seem to be getting just as lucky as it has been good. Sure, it was able to eke out those games against Davidson and Butler in the dying moments, but the competition is getting better, and the results are getting more and more emphatic. The defense played a stellar game on Thursday night against a Miami team that really thought it had a shot to be a No. 1 seed in the dance this year. The Hurricanes shot just 34.9 percent from the field, and they had all sorts of problems getting their offense in gear. However, this is a much different team that we are talking about right now on the other side of the court. The Orange have two double-digit victories already to their credit, and they are proving that they are indeed one of the best teams in the country. It was no mistake that this was a Top 5 ranked team at one point this season, and this certainly doesn’t feel like the time that this run for the ‘Cuse is going to stop. We know that Marquette won the first meeting of these two teams, but in that game, the Golden Eagles had five times the amount of three throw attempts that Syracuse did, and the duel was played in Milwaukee. This is on a totally neutral court, and the free throws clearly won’t be that far apart when push comes to shove. We have to back the boys in Orange to cut down the nets in DC.

March Madness free picks are one of our top specialties this time of year here at Cappers Info, and we have another great one on the NCAA Tournament schedule on Thursday night. The #4 Syracuse Orange and the #1 Indiana Hoosiers will meet in the Sweet 16 in the East Region, and we’re breaking down the NCAA basketball betting lines for the clash.

East Region Picks: #4 Syracuse Orange vs. #1 Indiana Hoosiers
Date: Thursday, March 28th, 9:45 p.m. ET
East Region Location: Verizon Center, Washington DC
Syracuse vs. Indiana Live on TV: TBS

Sweet 16 Betting Lines
#4 Syracuse Orange +5.5
#1 Indiana Hoosiers -5.5
Over/Under 135.5

There could be some real magic in the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night. The Hoosiers are clearly one of the most talented teams in America, and the mass majority of brackets feature them coming out of Washington DC this weekend and going to the Final Four. There’s no reason for most to think otherwise when looking at the big picture. F Cody Zeller and G Victor Oladipo are tremendous stars, and the rest of the role players on this team are outstanding. The time really does seem to be here for Indiana basketball to get back on the map as one of the premier programs in America. However, when you look back at that game against the Temple Owls from over the weekend, you have to be a bit concerned. For as great as Indiana has been, the fact that it only made 19 field goals and had just nine assists on those field goals won’t cut it. The ball just wasn’t moving around all that well, and that could be problematic when push comes to shove here in the Sweet 16 against the 2-3 zone. The combination of F CJ Fair, F James Southerland, G Brandon Triche, F Rakeem Christmas, and G Michael Carter-Williams has really played well here in the tourney. We love Syracuse’s aggression and the way that it has continually swooped towards the basket, and we love the run that this team has been on. If this really is the last dance for Head Coach Jim Boeheim, we don’t think that it is ending right now. The Orange have only been beaten once since getting beaten badly right here in this building by the Georgetown Hoyas on March 9th, and that game in the Big East Tournament Final against Louisville. Don’t be all that shocked if this game marks some vengeance for a team that truly is one of the most talented in the land. We want the points on our side, and we think that this could be one of the best displays that we have seen thus far in the tourney by a middling seed.

We’ve got our dancing shoes on once again here at Cappers Info, and that means that it’s time for the NCAA Tournament picks to continue. Our next set of March Madness Bracket Predictions take us to the East Region, where the #12 California Golden Bears and the #4 Syracuse Orange meet in the Third Round.

Date: Saturday, March 23rd, 9:40 ET
East Region Location: HP Pavilion, San Jose, CA
California vs. Syracuse Live on TV: TBS

Wager Web Sportsbook

Third Round Betting Lines
#12 California Golden Bears +7.5
#4 Syracuse Orange -7.5
Over/Under 124.5

The Orange are going to have their way with the Golden Bears as we see it on Saturday in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse’s 2-3 zone is really setup perfectly to stop everything that Cal is going to try to do in the half-court. G Allen Crabbe and G Justin Cobbs are long range shooters, and they are going to have to either figure out how to slash into the heart of the 2-3 zone, or shoot over or around it. It’s just not going to happen. The Orange are playing out of their mind defensively right now, and if you take out a bad second half of basketball against the Louisville Cardinals in the Big East Tournament, teams just aren’t scoring anything against this unit. On top of that, Head Coach Jim Boeheim has a team that is relatively rested, knowing that no one really had to play all that long or that hard to beat the Montana Grizzlies on Thursday. The Golden Bears meanwhile, had to play an insanely physical game against the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels that came right down to the wire. In the end, this is just a bad looking game for Cal. We love the way that the Pac-12 has played here in this tournament to this point, but this is where teams like the Golden Bears are going to bow out.

Second Round Betting Lines
#13 Montana Grizzlies +12.5
#4 Syracuse Orange -12.5
Over/Under 127.5

5Dimes NCAA TournamentWe really think highly of this Syracuse team in this tournament, but we know that this could be a game that features some potential problems. Many are immediately going to dismiss the Big Sky champs, and in a normal circumstance, we probably would, too. However, that win against Weber State in the league finale, albeit at home and not on a neutral court, was an impressive one – the Wildcats are no joke. The Grizzlies were beaten last year in the first round of the tourney by Wisconsin, but now, there is a heck of a lot more experience here that should help the team in a big time way when it comes to getting around that 2-3 zone. G Will Cherry, G Kareem Jamar, and F Mathias Ward are all a year older, and they are all a year more prepared for the dance. If there is a game that Syracuse could be ripe for the picking, this is it. The Orange are coming off of a long, arduous run in the Big East Tournament that fell short in the finale, simply because of exhaustion. We do think that Head Coach Jim Boeheim is going to press the right buttons to make sure that this game ends up in the win column, but flying clear across the country on short notice most certainly isn’t what this basketball team needed. Montana, a heck of a lot closer to home, will at least hang within in the number this time in the dance.

Montana vs. Syracuse Free Pick: Montana Grizzlies +12.5
Montana vs. Syracuse Predictions: Syracuse 65 – Montana 59

Big East Tournament Semifinals Picks: Syracuse Orange vs. Louisville Cardinals
Date: Saturday, March 16th, 8:30 ET
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Syracuse vs. Louisville Live TV: ESPN

BetGuardian

If there were ever a place for some magic to happen in college basketball, Madison Square Garden would be that place. Louisville is a team that looks like the equivalent of the Big Bad Wolf of the Big East, taking down four straight games by at least a dozen points and rumbling to six straight covers. Syracuse is the sloppy team that more or less has gritted its way to three wins in as many days to reach the final. It’s so tough to win the Big East Tournament when having to play more than just in the quarters, semis, and the finale, but the Orange are going to try to do just that. They’re going to need more offense out of G Michael Carter-Williams, and F CJ Fair is going to have to learn when to shoot the ball and when to not take such ill-advised shots. The rest of it is literally going to have to be some MSG magic. We saw some of it with the gritty defense that the Orange showed against the Georgetown Hoyas on Friday night, and we might just see it again this time around versus the Cards. This has the feeling of one of these games that will come down the wire and perhaps go to overtime, maybe even a few of them. We want the points on our side, and we really believe that the Orange are going to find some way to pull this one off outright as well.

As if the Big East Tournament couldn’t get any bigger, now we get to see a third and final battle between the Hoyas and the Orange this year. The oddsmakers have really insinuated all season long that the Orange were the better of these two teams. They were favored at home by a huge 7.5-point margin, and they were only two-point underdogs on the road when these two met at the Verizon Center. The way that F James Southerland is playing right now is insane. He has put up six three-point field goals in each of his first two games here at MSG. It is going to be tough to score on the Hoyas, who have allowed just a total of 82 points in their last two games. Head Coach Jim Boeheim has had all sorts of great success here at the Big East Tournament, and he is going to want to take it out his arch rival one final time. Syracuse is going to have a tough time in this game after playing two games in two days, as opposed to Georgetown, which has played just once here at the Garden. Still, the sight of seeing the Hoyas on the other side of the court for the third time this year, especially after two beatings, has to be enough to get over the hump and into the final.

Big East Tournament Quarterfinals Picks: Syracuse Orange vs. Pittsburgh Panthers
Date: Thursday, March 13th, 2:00 ET
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Syracuse vs. Pittsburgh Live TV: ESPN

BetGuardian

Day 3 of the Big East Tournament kicks off on Thursday afternoon, and Pittsburgh takes to the court for the first time. The Panthers are laying 2.5-points, but we aren’t all that sure that that’s justifiable. The Panthers have had a great year, but we aren’t all that keen to their overall body of work at the moment. Sure, they have won four straight games, but they haven’t beaten one of the big boys in the Big East since February 2nd, which ironically came against this Syracuse outfit. Meanwhile, we’re wondering if the Orange haven’t found their way. They looked terrible in the first several minutes against the Seton Hall Pirates before turning on the jets in the second half and putting the game away without really all that much of a fight. It was a great game for F James Southerland, and a solid one as well for both G Brandon Triche and F CJ Fair. And to think… G Michael Carter-Williams and F Rakeem Christmas were guys that hardly had their names called during the game. This is a scary, scary Syracuse team, and we think that it is going to roll right along to the semifinals on Thursday afternoon at the expense of an overrated U-Pitt outfit.

The time is here for more of our sparkling CBB picks, as we look at the schedule for basketball for Wednesday night. The Syracuse Orange and Seton Hall Pirates will have it the Big East Tournament Second Round, which can be seen on the college basketball TV schedule on ESPN.

Big East Tournament Second Round Picks: Seton Hall Pirates vs. Syracuse Orange
Date: Wednesday, March 13th, 2:00 ET
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Seton Hall vs. Syracuse Live TV: ESPN

The assumption is there that the Pirates are going to just get run out of the gym by the superior Orange in this game. We know that Seton Hall looked downright dreadful yesterday against the South Florida Bulls, winning in overtime 46-42. The Pirates were killed on the glass all game long, and by just looking at the box score, it’s anyone’s guess how they actually pulled out the victory. Brian Oliver, Fuquan Edwin, and Aaron Cosby all played at least 40 minutes. Still, the oddsmakers almost always overblow situations like this, especially in the big time conference tournaments where they games show up on national television. The Orange really aren’t in great shape right now either. Remember that they dropped four of their last five coming into this tournament. Head Coach Jim Boeheim would love to come up with a good result in this tourney to get some moment rolling towards March Madness, but he knows that it isn’t the end of the world if this one isn’t a work of art. In spite of the fact that it really makes no sense whatsoever, we still think that the Pirates are the right play to make, if for nothing else, to fade the court of public opinion on Wednesday afternoon.

Seton Hall vs. Syracuse Pick: Seton Hall Pirates
Big East Second Round Prediction: Syracuse 66 – Seton Hall 64

We have had some pretty good fortune picking on the Hoyas and the Orange this year in some of their biggest games of the year. We got the Georgetown loss to the Villanova Wildcats right, and we got it right both when Syracuse went on the road to the Louisville Cardinals and when the two teams played the return trip a few weeks later. More importantly, we were spot on when these two teams clashed at the Carrier Dome, taking Georgetown and the points in a game in which the Hoyas won by 11 points. Many would think that this is the cue for the hosts to come up with another victory, but we’re not all that sure that that is the case. The Orange have proven that they can go on the road and win these big time games. They did it against Louisville and they did it against Arkansas (no easy task). They knocked off Providence and had both Marquette and Villanova dead to rights before blowing it. Syracuse is the real deal. We’re afraid that the Hoyas are going to be taking a massive step in the wrong direction after losing to Villanova. Don’t be all that shocked if any hopes of winning the Big East title went up in flames for the Hoyas on Senior Day, the final game before the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden.

It was only a few weeks ago that the upstart Orange went on the road and shocked the then-No. 1 ranked Cardinals at the KFC Yum! Arena. That was a part of the five straight weeks that a team ranked No. 1 in the land went down, and it was the start of a three-game skid for Louisville that was never really totally recovered from. Here’s what we do know, though. This is still one tremendously talented team, no matter how you slice it. Many think that this is a club that could run all the way to the Final Four this year, and we aren’t ones to doubt that when push comes to shove. G Russ Smith, G Peyton Siva, C Gorgui Dieng… This is a tough team to try to keep up with. Granted, we really do like what Syracuse is bringing to the table this year, but the ‘Cuse are on a downswing right now with losses to the Georgetown Hoyas and Marquette Golden Eagles in succession. We know that Syracuse can beat the big boys, but can it beat the big boys consistently enough to get the job done against arguably one of the best teams in the nation? Throw in the factor of revenge, and it seems like this game is made for the Cards to win.

The Orange really need to get back on the horse in a hurry, something that is going to be difficult to do after getting whooped by the Georgetown Hoyas over the weekend. This might be the perfect “get better” game though, knowing that the matchup really is a favorable one. Head Coach Buzz Williams has a team that does a lot of things well, but it is going to have to hit some shots from the outside to win this game, and that most certainly isn’t a strength. The Golden Eagles hit just 3-of-12 from long range against the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday, and they are one of the worst foul shooting teams in America at just 30.0 percent. Syracuse isn’t likely to turn the ball over 16 times in this game as it did against Georgetown, and it will certainly hit more than 4-of-20 from long range and 1-of-11 if you take out the efforts of F James Southerland. The Orange are the better of these two clubs, and they are going to flex their muscles in this one to take down the victory in front of a raucous crowd in Milwaukee.

Syracuse vs. Marquette Pick: Syracuse Orange pk
Syracuse vs. Marquette Prediction: Syracuse 65 – Marquette 59
