Pac-12 Tournament Semifinals Picks: Utah Utes vs. Oregon Ducks

Utah vs. Oregon Live TV: ESPN

BetGuardian

The Pac-12 Tournament has been full of surprises and near surprises over the course of the first two days, and that could continue on Friday night. The Ducks really looked great at times against the Washington Huskies, though it was all of the very iffy times that almost got them sent home from Vegas early and forced them to overtime. F EJ Singler looked great. The rest of the team? Very inconsistent. G Dominic Artis was back in the starting lineup on Friday night, but he wasn’t on the court in clutch time, which makes us wonder whether he has aggravated his previous injury. Utah has been a stingy team for the mass majority of the season, and for proof of that, this is a 20-8 ATS team over the course of its last 28 games. Not only has Utah pulled off back to back upsets here in the Pac-12 Tournament, beating the USC Trojans and the Cal Golden Bears in overtime, but it won its last two regular season games against the Oregon State Beavers and these Ducks as well. Be very careful, Oregon. The Utes are a legitimate contender to take down the Pac-12 title and to steal a bid from an unsuspecting bubble team that thinks the worst is over with.

Utah vs. Oregon Pick: Utah Utes
Pac-12 Tournament Semifinals Predictions: Utah 64 – Oregon 61

November 10th, 2012 By Jack Wilshire

Making sports betting picks is one of my specialties, and today, I’m making my Saturday Football Tipster pick based upon the football trends and Week 11 college football odds for the Utah Utes vs. Washington Huskies game on Saturday, November 10th at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Utah Utes (4-5, 5-4 ATS) -1
Washington Huskies (5-4, 5-4 ATS) +1
Over/Under 47

There is a lot of talk about how much better the Utes have been playing in the last few weeks, and this really has caught my eye that they are favored here on the road in Seattle. It’s true that Utah has won its last two games by convincing margins, a 49-6 win over the Washington State Cougars and a 49-27 victory over the Cal Golden Bears. Take that all for what it’s really worth though, which in my opinion, isn’t all that much. This team still hasn’t won a game on the road this year, and it still hasn’t really come all that close either since losing to the Utah State Aggies in overtime back on September 7th.

Washington has quietly played some better ball as well, and it has done so against a much better schedule. Yes, the Huskies also beat down Cal in this stretch, but they did so on the road, not at home, and instead of playing against a lousy Washington State team, U-Dub beat the Oregon State Beavers. Washington still has an atrocious offense, but defensively, this team hasn’t really allowed all that much, save for the best teams that the Pac-12 has to offer offensively.

Remember that last year when these teams met, the Huskies were clearly the better side, and they walked away with a 17-point win as 10-point underdogs. Bowl eligibility can be had with a ‘W’, and Head Coach Steve Sarkisian knows just how important that really is for a program that hasn’t achieved all that much extended success for the last several years. Go with the Huskies at home.

Utah @ Washington Tips: Washington Huskies +1

Making sports betting picks is one of my specialties, and today, I’m making my Saturday Football Tipster pick based upon the football trends and Week 9 college football odds for the Cal Golden Bears vs. Utah Utes game on Saturday, September 27th at 9:45 p.m. ET.

Cal Golden Bears (3-5, 3-5 ATS) +1.5
Utah Utes (2-5, 3-4 ATS) -1.5
Over/Under 43.5

One of these teams is going to be a heck of a lot happier than the other one when this one is said and done with, as one of the squads is going to be within a few steps of a bowl game, while the other is going to be pushed to the brink of postseason extinction with their sixth loss.

Utah’s offense has, for the most part, been awfully pathetic of late. Scoring just seven against the Oregon State Beavers doesn’t cut it, and it was the sixth straight game this year in which the Utes have scored 28 points or fewer. Head Coach Kyle Whittingham knows that his team needs a spark, but the talent just isn’t there for that to happen. Meanwhile, the Golden Bears are coming off of a game in which they were held to just a field goal by Stanford, and it is starting to feel like the end result is going to be the dismissal of Head Coach Jeff Tedford thanks to a team that has badly underachieved.

I really don’t have much feel for the side in this game, but it seems to be that the ‘total’ is just too high. There isn’t much in the way of explosiveness on either offense, and there are just far too many games in which these offenses fail to get into the 20s for my tastes. After last year’s 34-10 game in favor of the Bears failed to reach the ‘total’, I expect to see the scoring come down just a bit from that one to keep this one beneath the number as well.

Cal @ Utah Tips: Under 43.5

Making sports betting picks is one of my specialties, and today, I’m making my Saturday Football Tipster pick based upon the football trends and Week 8 college football odds for the Utah Utes vs. Oregon State Beavers game on Saturday, September 20th at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Utah Utes (2-4, 3-3 ATS) +10
#8 Oregon State Beavers (5-0, 4-1 ATS) -10
Over/Under 46.5

The public over the course of the last day and a half has really swarmed onto the Beavers, but in my opinion, they have missed the boat on a team that is now ridiculously overrated. There is just no way in heck that Oregon State – yes, THAT Oregon State that was ready to castrate Head Coach Mike Riley at the start of the season – really has a team worthy of being in the Top 10 in the nation. None whatsoever.

Both of these offenses have huge question marks at the quarterback position, and that’s never a good thing. The Beavers are once again going to be without QB Sean Mannion, which means that it is up to QB Cody Vaz to lead the way for a team that has a lot of underrated weapons. Utah’s ground game might have a tough time with RB John White IV trying to run against a great front seven as well.

In the end though, 69% of the public is on Oregon State, and that number is only going to continue to rise as the day progresses. I don’t care that it’s the Beavers’ homecoming game. I don’t care that the Beavers have that fancy #8 hanging next to their name. I do care that Utah won the game in this series last year 27-8, and I don’t really believe that there is going to be a 5-score flip from last year’s clash to this year’s clash.

Utah @ Oregon State Tips: Utah +10

Date: Saturday, October 4th, 9:00 ET
Location: Rice Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, UT
CFB Betting Odds: USC -13.5
USC vs. Utah Live TV: ESPN

It’s going to be quite the interesting tussle here in the Pac-12, where the unranked Utes are going to hope to make a name for themselves against the ranked Trojans. Does this sound familiar? It’s the exact same thing that Stanford did to USC, that Washington did to Stanford, and that Oregon State did to UCLA ,and that’s just over the course of the last two weeks of play in this conference. The Trojans just feel like they have given up on the season, though nothing is clearly totally lost as of yet unless they choose to lose it. QB Matt Barkley is clearly more talented than QB Jon Hays, and the USC offense should just be rolling right over the Utah defense. However, we’re just not all that sure that that is going to be the case. This could be a game in which the Utes find a way to stick around when push comes to shove.

USC @ Utah Pick: Utah +13.5

The 2012 college football season is back, and here at Cappers Info, we’ll be looking at some of the best games on the docket each and every week, as we try to make the most money possible off of the CFB odds for the week. Join us on Saturday night, as we make our BYU Cougars @ Utah Utes free picks and predictions for what should be a great clash on the gridiron.

Week 3 College Football Picks: BYU Cougars @ Utah Utes
Date: Saturday, September 15th, 10:00 ET
Location: Rice Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, UT
CFB Betting Odds: BYU -3.5
BYU @ Utah Live TV: ESPN2

The last nationally televised game on the docket is one that pits two arch rivals against each other. The “Holy War” is always one of the more brutal games that we see year in and year out. Most will think that BYU will be able to roll through this one for a number of reasons. The Utes are now on their backup quarterback, as QB Jordan Wynn has officially retired from the game, making way for QB John Hays to come in off the bench for the second straight year. And on top of that, the Cougs had to be embarrassed last year when they were clocked by these Utes at home 54-10 when they were favored by four points. This time around, we are definitely wary of the fact that over 65% of the public action is on BYU, and that generally tells us that the other side is right. Utah has covered six of the last eight here in this series, and that could continue on Saturday night with an upset, a game that we will be talking about quite a bit as the weekend goes on.

BYU @ Utah Pick: Utah +3.5
BYU @ Utah Score Prediction: Utah 38 – BYU 31

Week 2 College Football Picks: Utah Utes @ Utah State Aggies
Date: Friday, September 7th, 8:00 ET
Location: Romney Stadium, Logan, UT
CFB Betting Odds: Utah -7.5
Utah vs. Utah State Live TV: ESPN

This game is called the Battle of the Brothers, but considering just how badly Utah has beaten Utah State over the years, the Aggies may as well be referred to as the redheaded stepchild of the family. We hear all about how this game could very well end in an upset, but we just don’t buy it. QB Chuckie Keeton is still only a sophomore, and we aren’t buying into what he did last week against Southern Utah. The Utes are clearly the more sophisticated program with better depth, and generally speaking, that rules the day in college football. QB Jordan Wynn should have a big game against a defense that we think is going to be overrated. If Utah State couldn’t beat Utah with RB Robert Turbin carrying the load, we just don’t see how it is going to happen now either. This CFB pointspread should be double digits, and the fact that it isn’t makes us want to jump right in.

Utah @ Utah State Pick: Utah Utes -7.5
Utah @ Utah State Score Prediction: Utah 33 – Utah State 20

September 6th, 2012 By Jack Wilshire

Making sports betting picks is one of my specialties, and today at Cappers Info, I’m making my Friday night Football Tipster pick based upon the football trends and college football odds for the Utah Utes vs. Utah State Aggies game on Friday, September 7th.

Utah Utes (1-0, 0-1 ATS) +7.5
Utah State Aggies (0-0, 0-0 ATS) -7.5
Over/Under 52.5

Playing ‘overs’ in these midweek games is normally a death sentence, but I think that I have no choice but to do so for this clash between Utah and Utah State.

Both of these teams have polished quarterbacks that know what they are doing. Both QB Chuckie Keeton (Utah State) and QB Jordan Wynn (Utah) got off to great starts to their season last week, albeit against FCS teams. Still, both should be good for a ton of yards and touchdowns this year when push comes to shove. Both running games definitely have some potential as well, especially with RB John White IV running all over people for the Utes.

Last year’s game ended with 52 points on the board to push the ‘total’ but the three years before that all ended in ‘over’ games. The problem hasn’t been Utah scoring points, as the Utes have put up 43.8 points per game in their last four in this series. The problem has been Utah State getting into the end zone. Now, with an experienced Keeton that is apparently a heck of a lot more accurate passer now than he was last year, the Aggies are really going to have the chance to get something done. This could be an upset in the cards, but I still think that the safer and more consistent play is going with the ‘over’.

A team that struggles in bowl games historically will take on a team that usually excels in these situations, and we are set to make our Sun Bowl picks for the encounter between the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Utah Utes on New Year’s Eve.

Click Here For The Rest Of Our 2011-12 Bowl Game Previews

Sun Bowl Matchup: Utah Utes vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Sun Bowl Date/Time: Saturday, December 31st, 2:00 ET
Sun Bowl Location: Sun Bowl Stadium, El Paso, TX
Sun Bowl Odds: Georgia Tech -2.5
Sun Bowl Total: 50.5
Sun Bowl TV Coverage: CBS

We foreshadowed this right at the top, and now we are going to discuss in depth why we much prefer the Utes in this game over the Yellow Jackets. Utah’s bowl history is rock solid. Sure, the team was rocked in last year’s Las Vegas Bowl, but it was hard to not see that one coming, considering the fact that the Boise State Broncos were one of the best teams in America. However, aside from that, the Utes have won nine straight bowl games dating back to 1999, and that includes some big time wins in the BCS as well. Georgia Tech… not so much. It was beaten 14-7 in last year’s Independence Bowl by the Air Force Falcons, marking the third straight year in which the team has failed to score more than 14 in its bowl game. It also marked the team’s sixth straight defeat in a bowl.

Part of the problem that the Ramblin’ Wreck have is that they just don’t come up with enough wrinkles on offense with this triple option to really fool the opposition. In each of these last three years, the offense was good enough to put up 40 on any team in America, but in all three games, it just wasn’t nearly good enough to put enough points on the board to win. This has been the case for Head Coach Paul Johnson since his days with the Naval Academy, as it was rare that he was able to win bowl games there either, especially when those bowl games were played later in the season like this one will be.

Of course, it doesn’t help matters for G-Tech at all that Utah has a stout front line on both offense and defense. Offensively, the squad opened up all sorts of holes for RB John White IV all season long, and on the other side of the pigskin, the front seven held teams down to under 100 rushing yards per game, tops in the Pac-12 and in the Top 10 in the country. Of course, we expect to see QB Tevin Washington and the gang put up at least 200 rushing yards in this one, but if the team doesn’t get into the 300s, it isn’t going to win. There were five rushers on this team that had at least 422 yards on the ground this year, but that won’t make a difference if the offensive line doesn’t find a way to hold up against this great defense.

Utah is definitely void of some of its skill players right now, and it has to be kicking itself for how badly that it played against the lowly Colorado Buffaloes in the last game of the regular season, a game that cost it a shot to play for the Pac-12 Championship. However, when you look at the ACC in general, you really can’t help to be all that impressed, especially if you watched the way that the North Carolina Tar Heels were destroyed by a very comparable Missouri Tigers squad. In the end, there is just too much going against Georgia Tech to have any desire to back it outright, let alone laying points with it, so we are going to take the Utes in their first bowl game as a Pac-12 school to come up with the outright upset to capture the 2011 Sun Bowl in El Paso.

Year To Date Record: 31-27 ATS

Upset Record: 6-10 +$90

Underdog Pick #1: Indiana Hoosiers (+425 at Wager Web Sportsbook) vs. Illinois Fighting Illini, Saturday, 2:30 ET: Last week, we really should have had the upset of Northwestern over Illinois, and this week, we’re going to take another shot at the Illini. Indiana has won three of the last four here in Bloomington, and though this would be the biggest upset of the bunch, it is still an upset that we deem to be possible. The Hoosiers stuck around with, what in our eyes, is a comparable Penn State team last week in what amounted to be their best game of the season. QB Dusty Kiel might be the answer to the team’s quarterback problems. At some point the Illini are going to get picked off, and we want to be right there for the kill when it happens. This is a big, big price in a game in which we feel Indiana has at least a 1 in 4 chance of winning outright.

Underdog Pick #2: Utah Utes (+145 at Wager Web Sportsbook) vs. Arizona State Sun Devils, Saturday 3:30 ET: Last week, we were spot on with Washington against the Utes, but now that their backs are against the wall, we are definitely backing the hosts in their third Pac-12 game of the year. Part of this is that we just don’t buy into what Arizona State is selling. The team barely survived at home against Missouri, didn’t survive on the road against Illinois, and was down for far too long against Oregon State at home last week. Going on the road is never easy. Head Coach Kyle Whittingham has to be preaching to his team that the season isn’t over yet. In fact, winning out should win the Pac-12 South. Step No. 1 comes on Saturday with an “upset” over the Sun Devils, which could be the beginning of the end for Head Coach Dennis Erickson at ASU.

Underdog Pick #3: Air Force Falcons (+475 at Wager Web Sportsbook) @ Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Saturday, 3:30 ET: We were all about what the Irish were selling for a few weeks, but now, we’re not really all that sure that they should be justified as greater than a two TD favorite against a team that perhaps should be garnering some Top 25 attention. The Falcons are a solid team — just as Navy about how good the Falcons are after last week’s game. That being said, teams that run the triple option have had some success against Notre Dame in past years, and this might not be an exception. QB Tim Jefferson Jr. and the crew could be in for a big, big upset in South Bend.

Underdog Pick #4: Northwestern Wildcats (+250 at Wager Web Sportsbook) vs. Michigan Wolverines, Saturday, 7:00 ET: Night games in college football are just so much more interesting than day games are, and that’s what Big Blue is going to find out in this one. We still believe in this Northwestern outfit even though it should be disappointed to have blown a relatively sizeable lead last week at Memorial Stadium. Back at home though, we tend to think that they are going to get the job done, especially knowing that this is the time of year that the Wolverines are capable of pulling off their collapse.

Underdog Pick #3: Ohio State Buckeyes (+330 at Wager Web Sportsbook) @ Nebraska Cornhuskers, Saturday, 8:00 ET: Be very, very careful about a hangover, Nebraska… The Cornhuskers were embarrassed last week in Madison against the Badgers in their first ever game in the Big 10, and this one might not be all that much easier when you think about it. Ohio State is still legitimately probably one of the best 25 teams in the country, and though RB Boom Herron and WR DeVier Posey won’t be in the fold, this entire defense is together and should once again put forth a solid effort. If we can get a game like last week’s 10-7 loss against Michigan State, we know that the Bucks will have us smiling about having a +330 lottery ticket at that point. Don’t be shocked if Big Red gets bounced by the Bucks.

For the college football betting fans of the mid major programs, this is the big time bowl bash for you! The Las Vegas Bowl features two of the best teams from across the country, both of which happen to play in smaller conferences. Though both will be upgrading in recent years into better leagues, they're both still crying for more respect. However, both the Boise State Broncos and Utah Utes can't be winners on Wednesday night in Sin City. This is a hefty set of bowl odds facing the men from the Smurf Turf in this one, and we have all of the Las Vegas bowl news and notes that you need to know before making your Las Vegas Bowl picks on the game for Wednesday night!

Las Vegas Bowl Matchup: Utah Utes vs. Boise State Broncos
Date: Wednesday, December 22nd, 8:00 ET
Location: Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, NV
Las Vegas Bowl Line: Boise State -17
Over/Under 58

Utes Notes: Utah was having a fantastic season and was ranked in the Top 10 in the country this year before falling victim to the TCU Horned Frogs at home in a loss that really seemed to take all of the wind out of their sails. They lost the very next game to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and were removed from having any chance of going to the BCS. This is perhaps the luckiest draw for any of the 70 bowl teams this year, as Utah still gets a chance to play a premier team in a big time, standalone bowl spot. The problem that the Utes have on Wednesday is that QB Jordan Wynn is going to be sitting out with a should injury that he suffered in the Holy War against the BYU Cougars in the regular season finale. Backup QB Terrance Cain, who was a starting quarterback for this team as a youngster, came in and went just 2-for-7 for eight yards with two picks, but he was responsible for claiming the 'W' in the game. Cain knows what he is doing both as a starter and a backup though, and he played well when Wynn was injured earlier in the season, throwing for six scores and no INTs in big time wins against lesser opponents from the Mountain West. The running game is going to be key to keep the Boise State offense off of the field. RBs Matt Asiata and Eddie Wide both put up subpar numbers this year, but when combined, they did roll for over 1,300 yards. This defense is also going to have to force some stops against one of the most feared offenses in the country. The Utes ranked No. 22 in the land in total 'D' at 319.7 yards per game and averaged 19.8 points per game allowed to boot. However, these numbers are down tremendously in the second half of the season. From October 30th through the end of the year, Utah allowed a stunning 29.6 points per game, something that Head Coach Kyle Whittingham really needs to make sure improves for the Las Vegas Bowl.

Broncos Notes: It was supposed to be a banner season for Boise State this year, but after losing ground for most of the regular season thanks to a lousy schedule and a devastating overtime loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack, its BCS dreams were shattered to bits and pieces. The argument absolutely could be made that the Broncos were hosed by the BCS, as their one loss came against a one loss Top 20 team on the road, as opposed to the Arkansas Razorbacks, who lost twice, including once at home to a three loss team. There is a big question whether Head Coach Chris Petersen really has his boys ready to go in this one, though there were clearly no ill effects the week after the Nevada loss. The Broncos came back and rolled over the Utah State Aggies in the home finale 50-14 the very next week. Though these numbers are really courtesy of this weak schedule, the Broncos ranked No. 4 in the land both in total offense (521.4 yards per game) and total defense (264.1 yards per game). Outscoring any combination of 12 foes by 33.1 points per game is impressive as well. QB Kellen Moore is going to fall short of 4,000 yards this year, as he has 3,506 yards and 33 TDs against five picks this year, but this is going to be a crucial game in his Heisman Trophy campaign for next season. Moore is going to be one of the big time favorites to capture the Heisman in 2011, and he can make a big time statement in this game, his last with a number of the heroes for the Broncos over the years. RB Doug Martin, RB Jeremy Avery, WR Titus Young, and WR Austin Pettis all had at least nine trips to the end zone this year, and these four men combined for 240 points between them, more than a ton of teams in the country scored over the course of the year.

The Final Word: Don't be all that surprised if the Utes hang in this game for a long, long time. There is no doubt in our minds that the Broncos are the superior team in this game. If they want to, they can win this one by 30. However, we really aren't so sure that they have any care to be here in Sin City. The Utes are going to embrace this underdog roll, and the longer they can stick around in this one, the more the crowd is going to get on their side as well. Boise State will probably pull out the win, but Utah is doing to beat the Las Vegas Bowl spread in this one.

Matchup: Virginia Cavaliers @ Virginia Tech Hokies
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 12:00 ET
Location: Lane Stadium, Blacksburg, VA
Game Line: Virginia Tech Hokies -23.5
Over/Under 57.5

The rivalry in the state of Virginia this year doesn't have all that much meaning to it, as the Hokies are already going to the ACC Championship Game next week, while the Cavaliers can't make it to a bowl game one way or the other. Both of these teams are solid ATS squads as well, as they are a combined 14-8 in that department. The Hokies have dominated this series, going 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS since 2003, and there is little reason to believe that that won't continue. The Hoos are trying out a bunch of new things this year, and unless QB Marc Verica plans on getting to the 3,000 yard mark this year (which requires 369 passing yards), we don't see how UVA is sticking around with the red hot Hokies, who just want to keep their mojo going into the conference title game.

Free College Football Picks: Virginia Tech -23.5
Prediction: Virginia Tech 38 – Virginia 10

Matchup: Michigan State Spartans @ Penn State Nittany Lions
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 12:00 ET
Location: Beaver Stadium, University Park, PA
Game Line: Michigan State -1.5
Over/Under 51

This is the game that will essentially lock up the Big Ten for the Wisconsin Badgers. The Spartans are just barely hanging on by a thread this season, as they have already had to post major comebacks against both the Northwestern Wildcats and the Purdue Boilermakers to hold on for victories. If those games went the other way and nothing else changed, we know that Penn State would be favored by close to a TD in this one. The bottom line here is that we've had this game circled for quite some time. The Spartans have killed off a number of National Championship hopes for the Nittany Lions over the years, and now Penn State can return the favor and end the Rose Bowl dreams of Michigan State. You know that Joe Pa's crew isn't going to want to pass up on that opportunity.

Free College Football Picks: Penn State +1.5
Prediction: Penn State 23 – Michigan State 17

Matchup: Michigan Wolverines @ Ohio State Buckeyes
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 12:00 ET
Location: Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH
Game Line: Ohio State -16.5
Over/Under 63.5

Ohio State has a chance to finish off an 11 win season if it can continue dominance over the Wolverines. Previous Michigan HC Lloyd Carr was canned because he couldn't beat the Buckeyes, and though we know that HC Rich Rodriguez is safe this year after winning seven games and taking Big Blue to a bowl game, eventually, a win over OSU is going to be required for him to keep his job. QB Denard Robinson is going to have to go wild against one of the top defenses in the country to pull off this upset, but with what we've seen thus far with the Buckeyes at home, where they are 7-0 SU and 7-0 ATS, the NCAA football odds aren't looking so good for the visitors.

Free College Football Picks: Ohio State -16.5
Prediction: Ohio State 41 – Michigan 21

Matchup: BYU Cougars @ Utah Utes
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 3:30 ET
Location: Rice Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, UT
Game Line: Utah -8.5
Over/Under 50

This is going to be one of the most interesting Holy Wars in years. The Utes are really slumping right now, as they only stopped a brutal two game skid in which they scored a total of just nine points last week. BYU, on the other hand, really has its offense in high gear right now, and it has salvaged a bowl bid in a year in which looked like it was going to be a disaster. This is the last meeting of these two teams as members of the MWC. The Cougs will be going independent next year, while Utah is headed to the Pac-10. QB Jake Heaps has really figured it out of late, as he is up to 1,824 yards and ten TDs on the campaign, while his counterpart in this one, QB Jordan Wynn, really hasn't gotten it together this year for the Utes to the fullest capability. Last year's game was an epic 26-23 overtime win for BYU in Provo, and this year's encounter should be every bit as entertaining. We think that Rice Eccles Stadium will claim another foe, but that the Cougs are going to find a way to get out of Salt Lake City with another cover.

Matchup: Northwestern Wildcats @ Wisconsin Badgers
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 3:30 ET
Location: Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, WI
Game Line: Wisconsin -23.5
Over/Under 57

As long as nothing else screwy happens in the Big Ten over the course of the day, this is going to be the farewell song for the Badgers at home this year, as they head to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl or to Glendale for the BCS Championship Game. The equation in this one is painfully simply. The Wildcats gave up 360 rushing yards last week to Illinois' RB Mikel LeShoure. Last week, Wisconsin's RB Montee Ball and RB James White both rumbled for at least 170 yards apiece. Now, RB John Clay is going to be back in the fold this week as well. At this pace, all three of them could end up with 150 on the ground, especially since the Northwestern offense has totally fallen apart with QB Dan Persa out of the lineup with an Achilles tear. RB Jacob Schmidt and RB Mike Trumpy probably aren't playing either, and if this is the case, QB Evan Watkins is going to be looking like a deer in headlights. Camp Randall will be Jumpin' Around on Saturday afternoon, as their Badgers will have roses between their teeth when this one is over with.

Matchup: NC State Wolfpack @ Maryland Terrapins
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 3:30 ET
Location: Byrd Stadium, College Park, MD
Game Line: NC State -1.5
Over/Under 52

The Wolfpack haven't played all that well on the road this year, but they knew coming into last week's clash with the North Carolina Tar Heels that they needed to win twice in order to lock up the ACC Atlantic Division to go to their first ACC Championship Game. The equation is simple. An NCSU win sends the Wolfpack to the game. A loss puts the Florida State Seminoles there for the second time in school history. QB Russell Wilson has all of the pressure on his shoulders to try to take down a team that has played incredibly well at home this year. The Terps don't have anything to really play for except positioning in bowl games, but you can bet that after a great season, Maryland doesn't want to see it all come crashing down with a pair of home losses. Back the hosts, which will send FSU to the league title game.

Matchup: Florida Gators @ Florida State Seminoles
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 3:30 ET
Location: Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, FL
Game Line: Florida State -2
Over/Under 51

The truth of the matter is that this game really doesn't mean much to either one of these teams from the perspective of where they are going to go to a bowl game. Odds have it, Florida's fate will be in the hands of the Outback Bowl, which may or may not take it. If not, there will be a lot of bowl games that surpass the Gators before they land one way or the other. The Noles though, are probably going to be the No. 2 or No. 3 team in the conference, which means that they will either be in the Gator Bowl or the Champs Sports Bowl unless they win the ACC. You know that there will be plenty of scoreboard watching in Tallahassee, win or lose against UF. The Maryland Terrapins will be rooted on just as hard as the Noles will at the Doak on Saturday. A win for the team that FSU disposed of last week will send it to the ACC Championship Game. Still, this game takes top priority for the men on the field, as the Seminoles haven't beaten the Gators in six tries. Florida just doesn't look like it has the oomph right now, particularly offensively, to be able to take down the men in garnet and gold. Florida State will get the job done, and there will be a ton of celebrating on the streets of Tallahassee for the first time in years.

Matchup: LSU Tigers @ Arkansas Razorbacks
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 3:30 ET
Location: War Memorial Stadium, Little Rock, AR
Game Line: Arkansas -3
Over/Under 54

These two teams really hate each other, as the battle for the Golden Boot is always one of the most brutal battles to watch on the collegiate gridiron all season long. Depending on what happens with the Iron Bowl on Friday afternoon, Arkansas might think that it has a great chance of playing for a BCS bowl game, as a second team from the SEC is likely going to find its way to a major bowl game. LSU knows that a spot in the BCS is guaranteed with a win, as a one loss SEC team is not going to be passed upon under any circumstance. The chance is still there for the Mad Hatter, HC Les Miles and company to go the National Championship Game, especially if they are impressive in this one on the road. We know that statistically speaking, all signs point to Arkansas winning this game, but we're not so sure. LSU just has this knack of winning games like this one, while the Hogs have had the nature to lose them. That parlayed with the fact that the Bayou Bengals have been the dominant team in this series over the years has us waving around purple and gold flags in college football betting action.

Matchup: Mississippi State Bulldogs @ Mississippi Rebels
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 7:00 ET
Location: Vaught Hemingway Stadium, Oxford, MS
Game Line: Mississippi State -2.5
Over/Under 54

The annual Egg Bowl is usually a very close run thing, and this year is probably going to be no exception whatsoever. The Bulldogs have lost a pair of games in a row, but no one is blaming them after having a fantastic first nine games of the year. Ole Miss has been disappointing, losing close game after close game. HC Houston Nutt needs something to bring into next season, but we tend to think that the combination of QB Jeremiah Masoli and RB Brandon Bolden are going to get stuffed up. MSU has no fear about going on the road and winning games like this one. Just ask the Florida Gators. The Bulldogs are going to find a way to sneak out of Oxford with a big time win to hopefully snare a bid in a strong bowl like they deserve after a great regular season.

Matchup: South Carolina Gamecocks @ Clemson Tigers
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 3:30 ET
Location: Clemson Memorial Stadium, Clemson, SC
Game Line: South Carolina -2.5
Over/Under 45

Winning in Death Valley is never an easy thing to do, but the Tigers just haven't looked like a team all season long that can beat a team the quality of the Gamecocks. South Carolina didn't take its foot off of the gas pedal last week in the demolition of the Troy Trojans, and we don't see it doing anything of the sorts again this week even though the SEC Championship Game is on deck. The Gamecocks are a legitimate team, and they are going to give Auburn fits for the second time this year inevitably. But before any of that takes place, RB Marcus Lattimore is once again going to prove that he is the best freshman in the entire country, as he leads Cocky over the Tigers in Death Valley on the road.

Matchup: Oregon State Beavers @ Stanford Cardinal
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 7:30 ET
Location: Stanford Stadium, Stanford, CA
Game Line: Stanford -13
Over/Under 57

HC Mike Riley has his work cut out for him for his Beavers, as they need to beat either the Cardinal or the Oregon Ducks to go to a bowl game this year. The problem that the Beavs have is that they just can't win games on the road. They've had too many close calls to deal with and have just consistently found ways to drop. Stanford knows that this could be a play in game for the BCS, and maybe even for the BCS Championship if enough you know what breaks loose. The Cardinal are going to be locked in this dog fight with teams like the TCU Horned Frogs, LSU Tigers, and Ohio State Buckeyes for the last at large bowl bids to the BCS, and an impressive victory here against a former Top 25 team would go a long, long way. The offense for Stanford is just too strong, as it has put at least 42 on the board in three of the last four. The Cardinal are 3-0-1 ATS in those four games, and there is no reason that we can see that they would do anything less than come away with a three score victory against Oregon State.

Matchup: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets @ Georgia Bulldogs
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 7:45 ET
Location: Bulldog Stadium, Athens, GA
Game Line: Georgia -13.5
Over/Under 58.5

The winner of this game is certainly going bowling, while the loser might be in a bit of trouble. We already know that Georgia is playing for its bowl life, something that the Texas Longhorns failed at on Thanksgiving night. One of the most proud programs in the SEC posting a losing season would be fatal for the career of HC Mark Richt, as he will almost certainly be fired by the end of the weekend if the Dawgs don't come out on top in this one. QB Josh Nesbitt has been out of the lineup for the Ramblin' Wreck though, and he isn't going to be back in the fold for the rest of the year. Even though Georgia Tech already has the six wins required to be eligible for a bowl game, there is still a huge question as to whether or not anyone would take the Yellow Jackets if there are more bowl eligible teams than there are tie ins to these bowl games in the ACC. Some weird results have happened in this rivalry game, just like last year when UGA pulled off the upset in Atlanta in a game in which no one really gave the Bulldogs a shot. Don't be overly surprised if HC Paul Johnson has something in store for the Georgia offense that it hasn't seen this year. Take all the points you can get, as un upset might be in the cards.

Matchup: Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ USC Trojans
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 8:00 ET
Location: Los Angeles Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
Game Line: USC -4.5
Over/Under 49.5

We're not so sure what in the heck the Fighting Irish have been doing in recent weeks, but even without five of their offensive stars, they just keep continuing to find ways to win games. The Golden Domers fortunately locked up their bowl berth before this game kicked off. But now that that has happened, does USC really have much in the way of motivation to finish off this year? The Trojans slumped down the end of the season last year, and that was with a bowl game coming up. Now, they don't even have one of those to look forward to. These are two of the most bi-polar teams in the entire country that we're dealing with, and as long as that remains the case, we'll take the hotter team with the points and pull for the Irish.

Matchup: Oklahoma Sooners @ Oklahoma State Cowboys
Date: Saturday, November 27th, 8:00 ET
Location: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, OK
Game Line: Oklahoma State -2.5
Over/Under 67.5

Unless the BCS rankings have some tricks up their sleeves that we don't see coming, the winner of this game is going to be taking down the Big XII South and heading to the Big XII Championship Game, where they will be facing with the Nebraska Cornhuskers or Missouri Tigers. This is the first time that Okie State has been favored in this series in well over a decade, and for good reason. The men from Norman have won Bedlam 80 times in 104 meetings and have beaten up the Pokes seven times in a row. That all changes this year, though. This offense for Okie State is just downright scary, as QB Brandon Weeden, WR Justin Blackmon, and RB Kendall Hunter are all capable of putting up absolutely bananas numbers on a regular basis against anyone in the country. Though things have gotten better for Oklahoma, they still aren't where they should be. This defense is still certainly down from what we were expecting at the outset of the season. The team that deserves to win the Big XII South is Oklahoma State, and that's exactly how it is going to be playing out at Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday night, as the goalposts are coming down in Stillwater.
