Week 12 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Spokane Shock @ Iowa Barnstormers
Date: Friday, May 25th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Iowa -1.5 (111)

The Barnstormers screwed us over last week, but it wasn’t their fault. QB JJ Raterink got hurt on the first play of the game, and the team was really just a waste once that happened. Now, Raterink is back in the fold, and he should be able to get the job done against the Shock. This is a game that Iowa has to win in order to stay alive in the playoff race in the National Conference, and we think that it is going to be able to beat Spokane, who probably needs the game just as bad.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Iowa Barnstormers -1.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Jacksonville Sharks @ Orlando Predators
Date: Friday, May 25th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Jacksonville -4.5 (92)

Boy, is this ironic! The Sharks are going to be starting QB Collin Drafts under center, while the Predators are going to be starting QB Chris Leak. Just one issue. Leak started the year as the starting QB for Jacksonville, while Drafts was the starting QB for Orlando. This is a big game in the Southern Division. The Sharks aren’t all that great, and they are having some major quarterback problems right now. We think that Leak, who showed some promise last week, will be able to get the job done against his old team to pull off the upset.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Orlando Predators +4.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Milwaukee Mustangs @ Tampa Bay Storm
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Milwaukee -2.5 (108)

The oddsmakers have badly screwed this game up. The Storm are 0-5 on the road this year, and they have been blown out of the water in back to back road games. However, at home, this is a totally different story. Tampa Bay is 5-0 at home, and it is going against a Milwaukee team that just continually finds ways to lose games. QB Steve Wasil knows that he is under the gun for Tampa Bay, knowing that QB Nick Hill could be back with the team soon after getting released by the Green Bay Packers. This should be an easy upset for the hosts.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm +2.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Georgia Force @ Kansas City Command
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Georgia -7 (89)

Goodness help us in this game. The Command came up with their first win of the season last week against Pittsburgh, and this might be a game that is winnable as well. Georgia might be on top of the Southern Division, but there are a lot of issues at the quarterback position, as the Force are on their third quarterback this year with QB Kevin Eakin calling the shots. Another upset on the cards? It’s definitely a possibility.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Kansas City Command +7

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Arizona Rattlers @ New Orleans VooDoo
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Arizona -9 (119)

The Rattlers are going to be under the gun in this one. They have to come across the country to the Big Easy, and that comes right after a ton of huge conference games. The VooDoo came back from down 20 points last week to take care of the Predators, and they have a shot to get back to .500 this week if they can pull off the upset. We don’t know if they will get the job done, but we do know that QB Kurt Rocco is going to be able to keep up with one of the best offenses in the league. Take the points.

AFL Week 12 Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +9

Week 12 AFL Matchup: San Antonio Talons @ Utah Blaze
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 9:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Utah -2.5 (127)

The Blaze have been absolutely atrocious defensively this year, including allowing 86 points to the Rattlers last week. The team needs to get back in the win column to stick around, and the offense is good enough to beat anyone in the league. QB Tommy Grady has 80 TD passes already this year, easily the best mark in the league. We still think that the Talons are winning with smoke and mirrors, as they had just 181 yards last week and really had terrible offensive numbers in spite of the fact that they crushed the SaberCats by four scores. This week is payback.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Utah Blaze -2.5

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Chicago Rush @ San Jose SaberCats
Date: Saturday, May 26th, 10:30 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: San Jose -10 (122)

There is definitely something wrong with the Rush right now, and they have played some awful ball on the road this year. On the West Coast, they have already been crushed by Arizona and Utah by massive margins of defeat. This is the first time in three weeks that QB Russ Michna is going to be playing for the Rush, but we don’t think that it is going to make all that much of a difference. San Jose is the better team and the better team by a heck of a lot. This is going to be the week that the SaberCats get back on track after getting romped in San Antonio last week.

AFL Week 12 Pick: San Jose SaberCats -10

Week 12 AFL Matchup: Philadelphia Soul @ Cleveland Gladiators
Date: Sunday, May 27th, 4:00 ET
Arena Football Week 12 Odds: Philadelphia -6 (111)

The Cleveland defense has been out of this world over the course of the last few weeks, but there hasn’t been a challenge like this one in quite some time. The Gladiators were able to go on the road and beat the Soul in the City of Brotherly Love the first time around, and finishing off the season sweep would go a long way towards getting this team into the playoffs. We just don’t trust QB John Dutton though, who is one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks in this league. Go with the Soul to get back on track after getting crushed in Spokane last week. Remember that Philly is easily the best road team in the league this year at 5-0.

AFL Week 12 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -6

Expect to see the fireworks flying on Monday Night Football in what could be a potential playoff preview in the NFC, as we make our NFL picks in the duel between the New York Giants and the New Orleans Saints.

Year To Date Record: 34-41 ATS
Upset Record: 10-20, -$920

Week 12 NFL Matchup: New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints
Date: Monday, November 28th, 8:30 ET
Location: Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans, LA
NFL Week 12 Lines: New Orleans -7
Over/Under 50
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: ESPN

Giants Notes: It seems as though this brutal schedule has gotten the best of the G-Men. They were able to survive the beginning of the wave against the New England Patriots, but when push really came to shove, they were taken down by the 49ers and Eagles to drop out of first place in the NFC East. To make matters worse, now they aren’t even in the playoffs for the time being, and a loss in this one will leave them a game back in the division and two back for the Wild Card slots. QB Eli Manning has had a great season, throwing for 2,952 yards and 18 TDs against nine picks, but he really needs to step up his game in this one, or New York is going to be in a heck of a lot of trouble. The ground game probably won’t have RB Ahmad Bradshaw available in this one for a fourth straight game, which is bad news to say the least.

Saints Notes: New Orleans had a week off last week, but now, QB Drew Brees and the crew are going to try to get back on its record shattering pace. Brees has already thrown for 3,326 yards and 23 TDs this year, and he needs to average around 290 passing yards per game to break QB Dan Marino’s all-time record for passing yards in a season. This offense is averaging 31.3 points per game this year, and it’s hard to see how this is going to slow down against a defense which has allowed 22.8 points per game on the campaign. A win in this one would ensure that New Orleans stays in first place in the NFC South by a game (at least) over the Falcons. A loss could make things a tad more interesting in the division, but at least for the time being, with the win on the road against the Falcons, New Orleans is still in good shape.

The Final Word: New York has played some gritty football this year, but we just don’t see how Manning is going to be able to keep up with the intensity that the Saints are going to bring on the other side of the ball. Too much Brees. Too much New Orleans, especially in the dome. The Giants are in a heck of a lot of trouble.

Week 12 NFL Pick: New Orleans -7

NFL Football Prediction: New Orleans 31 – New York 17

Playoff hopes are on the line for a pair of teams that are still in the postseason picture in the crowded AFC on Sunday Night Football.

Year To Date Record: 30-35 ATS
Upset Record: 10-18, -$720

Week 12 NFL Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs
Date: Sunday, November 27th, 8:25 ET
Location: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
NFL Week 12 Lines: Pittsburgh -10.5
Over/Under 40
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: NBC

Steelers Notes: Pittsburgh knows that it needs to win this game to draw level once again with the Ravens, who won on Thursday at home. QB Ben Roethlisberger needs just 123 yards to reach the 3,000 yard barrier for the season, and he has 16 TDs against nine picks. All eyes are going to be on Big Ben’s thumb, which was fractured two weeks ago. Roethlisberger is going to play through the injury, just as he did for the second half of that game against the Bengals, and the hope is that the bye week has helped him get accustomed to it. There might be more of an emphasis on the ground game in this one. This is nothing out of the ordinary for the black and gold, but this year, RB Rashard Mendenhall hasn’t really been able to make the most out of his chances on the ground. As a team over the course of the last three weeks, the Steelers are only averaging 3.7 yards per carry.

Chiefs Notes: Last week was frustrating for the Chiefs in Foxboro against the Patriots, but it was hard to forecast anything different. QB Tyler Palko, making his first career start, threw for 230 yards on 24-of-37 passing, which wasn’t all that bad, but he tossed three picks and didn’t get the team in the end zone. In fact, the only score for Kansas City in the entire game came in the first quarter on a field goal. Head Coach Todd Haley’s defense is definitely going to be tested in this one. This unit has been terrible this year, allowing 25.2 points and 365.9 yards per game, and it just cannot afford to give up those types of numbers if there is any hope to pull off the upset. A loss in this one, and the likelihood is there that Kansas City’s season is over.

The Final Word: This game has the feel of one that the Steelers win by just slightly less than the number. Pittsburgh, seemingly more so than any other team in the league, wins games in which it is favored by more than a touchdown win by a TD or fewer. We don’t really think that the outright victory will ever be in doubt, but we can see Palko, who was quite efficient for the most part against New England, finding a way to hit the backdoor.

Week 12 NFL Pick: Kansas City +10.5

NFL Football Prediction: Pittsburgh 20 – Kansas City 13

NFL betting action is here again! Here at Cappers Info, we’re making our running tally of NFL picks this year, continuing with action on Sunday, November 27th!

Year To Date Record: 34-41 ATS
Upset Record: 10-20, -$920

Week 12 NFL Matchup: Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
Date: Sunday, November 27th, 1:00 ET
Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
NFL Lines: New York -9
Over/Under 42
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: CBS

We’re going to take this opportunity to pick on the Bills once again. They have been sliding badly over the course of the last few weeks, and they clearly aren’t the same team that beat the Patriots and the Raiders at home. Now, they have to go on the road against a New York team that really has played remarkable ball in its own backyard. RB Fred Jackson is out for the year, and that’s terrible news for an offense that has struggled this year when it hasn’t had the running game to really rely upon. It’s all bad news for Buffalo, and in this battle of 5-5 teams, we fully expect to see the Jets excel by a comfortable double digit margin.

Week 12 NFL Pick: New York -9

Week 12 NFL Matchup: Minnesota Vikings @ Atlanta Falcons
Date: Sunday, November 27th, 1:00 ET
Location: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA
NFL Lines: Atlanta -9.5
Over/Under 44.5
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: FOX

The Vikings have now had six straight games with at least 44 points in total on the board, and now, they really might be in a position where they have to throw the ball more with RB Adrian Peterson out of the lineup. That’s a good thing for points against an Atlanta secondary that typically struggles. The Falcons have played six straight ‘under’ contests, but it’s not like their offense has struggled. In all their last five, they have scored at least 23 points. It’ll probably take a tad more than that on Sunday, but if Atlanta does get into the high 20s, we think that this game is getting past the ‘total’ and into the 50s.

Week 12 NFL Pick: Minnesota/Atlanta Over 44.5

Week 12 NFL Matchup: Washington Redskins @ Seattle Seahawks
Date: Sunday, November 27th, 4:05 ET
Location: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA
NFL Lines: Seattle -3.5
Over/Under 37.5
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: FOX

The Redskins have simply fallen apart, and though they looked better last week in an overtime loss against the Cowboys, we just don’t think that they have the horses to come on the road to arguably the toughest venue in America and log a victory. Seattle has to believe in itself, and if its defense can keep QB Rex Grossman under wraps it will be able to win this game by a relatively comfortable margin. RB Marshawn Lynch has had some great games of late, and the Washington defense just isn’t good enough to stop him if he gets into his beast mode again.

Week 12 NFL Pick: Seattle -3.5

Week 12 NFL Matchup: New England Patriots @ Philadelphia Eagles
Date: Sunday, November 27th, 4:15 ET
Location: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA
NFL Lines: New England -3.5
Over/Under 50
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: CBS

Beware the hype… Every single time that the Eagles win a game like they did last week on the road against the Cowboys, everyone tends to think that this is what really will get this team going. Instead, we have to look at this quite objectively. The Patriots could have some problems throwing the ball against one of the best secondaries in the game, but Head Coach Bill Belichick knows how to design schemes that will take advantage of his tight ends in the middle of the field, where Philly is weak. On top of that, it is still unknown whether QB Michael Vick is going to be in the lineup or not. There’s a reason that this team is 1-4 at home and just 4-6 overall, and especially without its quarterback, we just can’t back Philadelphia. Expect to see this game be a romp.

Week 12 NFL Pick: New England -3.5

Week 12 NFL Matchup: Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
Date: Sunday, November 27th, 4:15 ET
Location: Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA
NFL Lines: San Diego -6
Over/Under 42.5
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: CBS

Alright, we’re not going to be dumb enough to go against QB Tim Tebow again, because we know that, no matter how badly he plays over the course of a game, he always seems to keep his team in it. The one thing that we haven’t seen from him yet though, is the ability to play from way behind. We’ve also become smart enough to not play on the Chargers, a team that we are convinced really is just nothing more than about average, if that. San Diego’s offense has the ability to put some points on the board, and in a big time way, and though the unit seems to score points, it doesn’t do it when it has to. That being said, we think that there are going to be a share of points in this game, as we think San Diego will jump out early, causing Tebow to put the ball in the air… We’re not so sure who’s scoring when that happens, but we know that someone is going to take advantage.

Week 12 NFL Pick: Denver/San Diego Over 42.5

NFL betting action is here again! Here at Cappers Info, we’re making our running tally of NFL picks this year, continuing with action on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24th!

Year To Date Record: 34-38 ATS
Upset Record: 10-20, -$920

Week 12 NFL Matchup: Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions
Date: Thursday, November 24th, 12:30 ET
Location: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
NFL Lines: Green Bay -6
Over/Under 55.5
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: FOX

If you’re a believer that the Packers are going to get picked off at some point over the course of the rest of this season, this is probably the game that you have to feel like it is going to happen in. This hasn’t been a perfect team by any stretch of the imagination, as its defense continues to struggle, and the ground game continues to really not look great. That being said, the Lions feel like they are playing every single game into the 60s, 70s, or even beyond, and we don’t see that changing with the Packers coming to town on the fast track of the turf in Motown. We more or less feel as though there isn’t a ‘total’ that could reasonably posted that will be high enough. QB Aaron Rodgers seems destined to throw for at least three TDs, and the same could probably be said for QB Matthew Stafford for the Lions. We’d be surprised if there weren’t at least 60 on the board when this one was said and done with. It’s probably the most square play on the board during the whole holiday weekend, but we are going to roll with it because we know that neither of these teams are going to leave anything on the table when it is said and done.

Week 12 NFL Pick: Green Bay/Detroit Over 55.5

Week 12 NFL Matchup: Miami Dolphins @ Dallas Cowboys
Date: Thursday, November 24th, 4:15 ET
Location: Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, TX
NFL Lines: Dallas -7
Over/Under 44
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: CBS

The Cowboys and Dolphins have both been rolling right along, but neither has really been able to beat the best teams in the league consistently. The Fins are probably going to be playing all sorts of loose football, as this is the only chance that they will get to be on the national stage for the rest of the year. All of the pressure is on Dallas in this one to perform. Even if WR Miles Austin doesn’t play though, we still love the way that QB Tony Romo is spreading the ball all over the place to his tremendously talented receivers. Miami just seems to be doing this with smoke and mirrors, and it really hasn’t been able to severely challenge a team like this in a spot like this. We don’t think much of the narrow loss against the New York Giants before this winning streak, and in the end, we think that a weak secondary that hasn’t been challenged in about a month will get exploited. Romo will have a huge game, and Cowboys will win by two touchdowns.

Week 12 NFL Pick: Dallas -7

Week 12 NFL Matchup: San Francisco 49ers @ Baltimore Ravens
Date: Thursday, November 24th, 8:20 ET
Location: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD
NFL Lines: Baltimore -3.5
Over/Under 38.5
Week 12 NFL TV Schedule: NFL Network

Dare we really say that the wrong team is favored in this game? The common thought is that the Niners are due for a letdown after a seemingly overachieving 9-1 start to the season, but what if they really are a legitimate Super Bowl contender this year? What we’ve seen out of the Ravens all year is a team that plays to the level of its opponent. The question is whether Baltimore really sees San Fran as a 9-1 team, or a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in seemingly forever and has no business being in the Super Bowl discussion this season. Time will surely tell, but one thing is for sure, and that’s that the Niners are going to bring it. They’re 9-1 SU and 9-0-1 ATS this year, and the best way to prove to the rest of the world that they are for real would be going on the road and taking down the Ravens, a team which is undefeated at home this year. We think that the outright upset is going to happen, but we’re going to take the 3.5 just in case.

Week 12 NFL Pick: San Francisco +3.5

College football betting action is here again! Here at Cappers Info, we’re making our running tally of NCAA football picks this year, continuing with action on Saturday, November 19th!

Year To Date Record: 67-68 ATS
Upset Record: 16-29 +$215

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Minnesota Golden Gophers @ Northwestern Wildcats
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 12:00 ET
Location: Ryan Field, Evanston, IN
College Football Lines: Northwestern -15.5
Over/Under 57.5
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: Big Ten Network

Northwestern has finally hit its stride this year, but now, it has to compete without QB Dan Persa once again. Minnesota has been a frisky team over the course of these last few weeks, though it had some bad moments trying to stop the rushing attack of Wisconsin last week. We just don’t know if the Cats have the ability to win a game by more than two touchdowns against anyone in conference play right now. They’ll get their win to qualify for a bowl game, but it won’t be by more than two TDs.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Minnesota +15.5

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Kentucky Wildcats @ Georgia Bulldogs
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 12:20 ET
Location: Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA
College Football Lines: Georgia -30.5
Over/Under 49
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: SEC Network, ESPN3.com

The question in this game is whether the Wildcats are going to be able to score some points. They have only averaged 17.0 points per game this year, but they have found some modest success of late against some respectable teams. The Georgia defense isn’t the greatest in the world, but the offense is really clicking right now, having scored 108 points over the course of its last two games. We tend to think when push comes to shove that the Cats will be able to get a couple TDs on the board, and if that’s the case, we have confidence that QB Aaron Murray will be able to do the rest, as he continues to rewrite the Georgia passing record books.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Kentucky/Georgia Over 49

Week 12 College Football Matchup: LSU Tigers @ Ole Miss Rebels
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 7:00 ET
Location: Vaught Hemingway Stadium, Oxford, MS
College Football Lines: LSU -30
Over/Under 46
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

We questioned why the Bayou Bengals were favored by six touchdowns last week and were absolutely right about it. This week, we’re questioning why they’re getting the nod by more than four TDs on the road in a conference game. Ole Miss is terrible. There are no two ways around it. Getting to 10 in this game would be the accomplishment of all accomplishments. That being said, it is Senior Day in Oxford, and it is also the last home game for Head Coach Houston Nutt before he steps down from the program at season’s end. We expect to see at least a little bit of fight in the Rebels, and if that’s the case, they should stick within four scores.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Ole Miss +30

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Kansas State Wildcats @ Texas Longhorns
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 8:00 ET
Location: Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, Austin, TX
College Football Lines: Texas -8
Over/Under 54
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: Longhorn Network

The Longhorns looked like they had a shot at the Cotton Bowl before last week’s loss against Missouri on the road. They can still get back to that plateau, but they really need to get these last two games in the win column to do that. We just don’t see what is up with all of the hating on the Wildcats. They had a shot of taking down Okie State in Stillwater, something that we really don’t think mighty Oklahoma is going to be able to do, and they did take down a game Texas A&M team last week at home in four overtimes. Even if they don’t win this one, they should figure out how to keep it close. Texas’ passing game just isn’t good enough to get the job done, especially with the running game having to get used to life without RB Fozzie Whittaker.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Kansas State +8

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Navy Midshipmen @ San Jose State Spartans
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 4:00 ET
Location: Spartan Stadium, San Jose, CA
College Football Lines: Navy -5.5
Over/Under 60
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: Local TV

The Middies have won two straight games and are suddenly back in the bowl discussion once again this year. That being said, this is a tough road still to reach that coveted 6-6 mark. San Jose State has been on the wrong side of three straight tough losses, and it would love to get back in the win column in this one, but we just don’t see it happening. Remember that the Spartans rank No. 102 in the land in rush defense, and you know that the Middies aren’t going to make that number go down any. It’s only going up, just like Navy’s record.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Navy -5.5

Week 12 College Football Matchup: USC Trojans @ Oregon Ducks
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 8:00 ET
Location: Autzen Stadium, Eugene, OR
College Football Lines: Oregon -14.5
Over/Under 67
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ABC

Last week, we played on the over in the Stanford/Oregon game with a tremendous amount of success. Now, we take a quick look at what Oregon has been able to do to the Men of Troy over the course of the last two seasons… They won 53-32 in the Coliseum and 47-20 here in Eugene. The recipe is once again there for just a ton of points to be put on the board, especially with RB LaMichael James continually showing his abilities to score from legitimately anywhere on the field. The Trojans won’t back down, and it wouldn’t surprise us if they score in the mid-30s in this one as well, but in the end, this is a day for the Ducks to shine in a high scoring contest.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: USC/Oregon Over 67

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Mississippi State Bulldogs @ Arkansas Razorbacks
Date: Saturday, November 19th, 3:30 ET
Location: War Memorial Stadium, Little Rock, AR
College Football Lines: Arkansas -13
Over/Under 53
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: CBS

Oh, these crazy SEC West games… Arkansas hasn’t had a lot of things come easily this year, but it has gotten the job done when push has come to shove. Mississippi State is a very, very difficult team to blow out, especially for how well that it tends to slow games down. That’s the key in this one. If the Hogs get up and really start to get the ball up the field in a hurry with QB Tyler Wilson, it’s going to be really hard for the three-headed monster at quarterback to keep up for MSU. However, if that defense can do what it did last week and keep the Arkansas offense down to a dull roar, there’s a great chance for the visitors to stick inside the number in the annual game that the Razorbacks play in Little Rock.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Mississippi State +13

Regular season conference championships could be decided on Friday night this week, as there are two fantastic games for us to make our college football picks!

Year To Date Record: 66-66 ATS
Upset Record: 16-29, +$215

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Toledo Rockets @ Central Michigan Chippewas
Date: Friday, November 18th, 8:00 ET
Location: Kelly Shorts Stadium, Mount Pleasant, MI
College Football Lines: Toledo -14.5
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ESPNU

Okay Toledo, can you keep this game under 120 total points? The last two weeks, it hasn’t been successful, accounting for 129 in a win against Western Michigan and 123 in a loss against Northern Illinois. The sad thing about this recent stretch is that the Rockets really didn’t play that poorly on the defensive side of the ball before these last two games. This is the final game for the Chippewas on the year, and it’s probably merciful for a team that is 3-8 and has been the definitive bottom feeding team in the MAC West all season long. CMU just doesn’t have the horses to be able to score 30 or 35 points in this game, and if it gets stuck in the mid-20s or so, this game isn’t going to reach this ‘total’. However, after watching the Rockets drop 60+ in back to back weeks, we just aren’t convinced that they are going to get out of the low-30s this time around. Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Central Michigan +14.5

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Oklahoma State Cowboys @ Iowa State Cyclones
Date: Friday, November 18th, 8:00 ET
Location: Jack Trice Stadium, Ames, IA
College Football Lines: Oklahoma State -25
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

The Cowboys are only two wins away from the BCS National Championship Game, but things aren’t necessarily going to be easy this week. This is a bad, bad look ahead spot for the Pokes, especially off of the big time whooping of the Red Raiders last week in Lubbock. Iowa State had a bye week last week to prepare for this one, and after four straight losses, it has won two in a row. This is a team that is one win away from a bowl game this year, and this, as sad as it sounds, might be the best shot that it has. The Cyclones aren’t going to pull off the upset, but we do expect to see a game that is competitive for quite some time. If QB Brandon Weeden doesn’t play well for the full four quarters, the Cyclones could be well on their way to pull off an upset that would shock the entire nation.

Two ranked teams that are clinging to BCS bowl hopes this year are going to lock horns on Thursday night for NCAA football picks, and we are set to make our calls on the big games of the midweek.

Year To Date Record: 66-66 ATS
Upset Record: 16-29, +$215

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles @ UAB Blazers
Date: Thursday, November 17th, 8:00 ET
Location: Legion Field, Birmingham, AL
College Football Lines: Southern Miss -23
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: CBS College Sports

The Golden Eagles have themselves a heck of an opportunity for the rest of this season, as they still have a chance to make the BCS party if they can win out and win Conference USA, especially if it comes against an undefeated Houston team. They rank in the Top 40 in literally every single major category on both sides of the ball, something that very few teams can claim. QB Austin Davis is likely two games away from throwing for 3,000 yards this year, and though there isn’t a back on the team that has more than 545 yards, five have at least 225 yards on the ground. That being said, the last time that we saw UAB in a spot like this one, the team was pulling off an upset right here at Legion Field over UCF. We don’t think that the men from Birmingham are going to get the job done to quite that extent on Thursday, but we do think that they can hang with an SMS club that had to defend a two point conversion against that same UCF team just to keep control of its own destiny in the East Division of C-USA.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: UAB +23

Week 12 College Football Matchup: North Carolina Tar Heels @ Virginia Tech Hokies
Date: Thursday, November 17th, 8:00 ET
Location: Lane Stadium, Blacksburg, VA
College Football Lines: Virginia Tech -11
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

The argument really could be made that the Hokies are one of the best five or so teams in the country this year. Remember that they really just put up one incredible dud game against Clemson, and that’s the only thing separating them from a potential shot at the National Championship. So naturally, you’d like to think that we would be taking V-Tech in this one, right? Maybe not so fast. The Tar Heels are a bowl team this year for sure, and though they are only 2-4 in conference play, they have some real talent. The offense isn’t going to be shut out as it was two weeks ago against the NC State Wolfpack, and we have to remember that this is a team that nearly won at Georgia Tech and challenged for quite awhile at Clemson. RB Giovani Bernard has already accounted for 12 TDs on the season, and he is averaging over 100 yards per game on the ground by himself. On the other side of the ball, the team is allowing just 108.3 yards per game on the ground, which could make V-Tech a bit of a one-dimensional team. This is the biggest game of the year for the Heels, and we expect them to play like it. Don’t be surprised if this game ends up being a whole heck of a lot closer than Head Coach Frank Beamer was hoping in this potential hangover spot.

There’s more MAC football betting action coming this week on Wednesday, with a two pack of games that will help determine which team will be playing for all of the marbles in the MAC Championship Game in Detroit come the first week of December.

Year To Date Record: 66-66 ATS
Upset Record: 16-29, +$215

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Ohio Bobcats @ Bowling Green Falcons
Date: Wednesday, November 16th, 8:00 ET
Location: Doyt L. Perry Stadium, Bowling Green, OH
College Football Lines: Ohio -6.5
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

The Falcons had their chance last week to make a name for themselves, but they were beaten and beaten badly by a clearly superior Northern Illinois Huskies outlet in the second to last home game of the year. True, with two wins and a lot of help, there is still a chance to make it to the MAC Championship Game, but realistically, there isn’t much of a chance to go bowling unless there are a lot of teams that come up short of the six win barrier. Ohio’s offense has had some tremendous success this year both on the ground and in the air, and there is no doubt that this unit is going to be able to score a heck of a lot of points. We’re not quite willing to play against the Falcons here on their home turf, as we don’t see them getting blown to bits for a second straight week at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Defense is optional in a number of these games, and with some big offensive players on both sides of the ball, we don’t see how it’ll be any different in this one. If that’s the case, we prefer the Bobcats at less than a touchdown.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Ohio -6.5

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Western Michigan Broncos @ Miami Redhawks
Date: Wednesday, November 16th, 8:00 ET
Location: Fred Yager Stadium, Oxford, OH
College Football Lines: Miami -3
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN2

It wasn’t all that long ago that the Redhawks and the Broncos were both in contention for the MAC title, and the truth of the matter is that Miami (OH) isn’t totally out of it at this point, especially if the Ohio Bobcats lose on Tuesday. The Redhawks have covered three straight and five out of six. The team just can’t run the football. Averaging 77.2 yards per game just doesn’t cut it under really any circumstance, and it has come back to bite this team time and time again. Meanwhile, QB Alex Carder and the Broncos have a similar problem, ranking No. 90 in rushing. Of course, Carder is leading the land’s ninth ranked passing attack at 318.0 yards per game. Last week’s 66-63 loss at the Toledo Rockets was crippling to Western Michigan, but we tend to think that it will find a way to at least get vengeance to at least hope to make a statement to the bowl games that they are a deserving team even though they best that they can do is get to 7-5.

If the Northern Illinois Huskies can put away the Ball State Cardinals at home in NCAA football betting action on Tuesday night, they will be one step away from winning the division and moving on to the MAC Championship Game. BSU knows that two wins will send it to the Motor City in the first week of December, though.

Year To Date Record: 66-66 ATS
Upset Record: 16-29 +$215

Week 12 College Football Matchup: Ball State Cardinals @ Northern Illinois Huskies
Date: Tuesday, November 15st, 8:00 ET
Location: Husky Stadium, DeKalb, IL
College Football Lines: Northern Illinois -19
Week 12 College Football TV Schedule: ESPNU

If you’re a fan of high flying teams, this is the game for you. It was only two weeks ago that these Huskies played in a 63-60 shootout that featured over 1,100 yards of offense against the Toledo Rockets on Tuesday night. QB Chandler Harnish can do it all, and he is leading a unit that has scored 40 or more points in eight of the team’s 10 games this season. NIU is good for 486.1 yards and 41.6 points per game. Harnish has accounted for 3,278 yards of total offense this year, and he is likely going to be a 3,000 yard passer and a 1,500 yard rusher when it’s said and done. He also will have double digits in both passing touchdowns (currently at 20) and rushing touchdowns (nine so far this year).

Ball State has put its points on the board as well. Don’t let the fact that this team ranks No. 75 in total offense and No. 87 in scoring fool you. The club has put 31 or more on the board in three straight weeks, and its bad offensive numbers are thanks to games that were played early in October.

However, we just don’t think that the Cardinals have the defense to get the job done. They allow 493.9 yards per game this year, and they haven’t played a fantastic schedule in all honesty either. This is Ball State’s toughest test, and especially here in DeKalb, we think that it is a test that it will not pass when push comes to shove. The Huskies could reach 60 in this game when it’s all said and done.

Week 12 NCAA Football Pick: Northern Illinois -19

We’re down to 18-22 ATS on the season after a solid 3-1 ATS week, and this week presents yet another opportunity to inch our way back towards the .500 mark this year. Join us for our Week 12 CFL picks!

Edmonton Eskimos @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats Picks
Week 12 CFL Odds: Hamilton -5
CFL Week 12 Lines: Over/Under 50.5

The Tabbies are coming off of a disastrous game last week against Montreal, and we can’t say that we didn’t see that coming after they blew out the Alouettes in Week 10. This week presents a much more solid matchup between two teams that are likely going to be stuck playing in first round postseason games. Hamilton is just a different team at home than on the road, as Ivor Wynne Stadium has been a house of horrors for some of the best teams in the league. Though the Eskies are on the right track, they’re going to be in for a rude awakening when they head to Hamilton on Friday night. Free CFL Picks: Hamilton -5

Toronto Argonauts @ Saskatchewan Roughriders Picks
Week 12 CFL Odds: Saskatchewan -7.5
CFL Week 12 Lines: Over/Under 51

We’ve been burned by the Argonauts for two straight weeks, and we’ve had enough of it. Saskatchewan is playing some of the best ball right now in the league, and the CFL lines are still just off base entirely. If this game were even two more weeks down the road, the Roughriders would likely be double digit favorites. With WR Andy Fantuz coming back into the fold, QB Darian Durant’s numbers should be getting better and better. Toronto’s offense with second week starting QB Steven Jyles just won’t be able to keep up with this unit on the road at Mosaic Stadium in all likelihood. Free CFL Picks: Saskatchewan -7.5

BC Lions @ Calgary Stampeders Picks
Week 12 CFL Odds: Calgary -4.5
CFL Week 12 Lines: Over/Under 50.5

The BC/Calgary series has been an odd one because it has been dominated by the road team in recent history. Though the Stamps are clearly the best team in the West, we’re not so sure that it’s by that big of a margin. QB Henry Burris and company really should be playing better ball than this against some of the lesser teams in the league. The Leos are kicking it into gear right now, and with Saskatchewan hot on their tails, they really need to pick up some wins in games like this to level the playing field in what could become a crowded West Division. We don’t know if there will be an upset at McMahon Stadium on Saturday night, but we know that we want the points on our side in what should be a very close game. Free CFL Picks: BC +4.5

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Montreal Alouettes Picks
Week 12 CFL Odds: Montreal -8
CFL Week 12 Lines: Over/Under 52.5

Kiss your lead in the East Division goodbye once and for all, Winnipeg. The Bombers have three game to play against Montreal still, and one would figure that whichever team can win two of the three is going to be the one that wins this division. The Alouettes have murdered people at home this year, and quite simply, whether it’s QB Buck Pierce or QB Alex Brink, we just don’t see the Blue Bombers moving the football enough to keep up with the high flying Alouettes. Montreal should drop at least 30 in this game, and that should be enough to prevail. Free CFL Picks: Montreal -8

I am the Gridiron Great, and I have been handicapping the NFL for a number of years. There is no greater time to try to get into this competition than right now, as every week you beat me gives you another opportunity at that big cash prize at the end of the year. Let's get started right now with my Week 12 picks…

Minnesota Vikings (+1) @ Washington Redskins – Everything suggests that the Redskins should be winning this game, as they are coming off of a great OT victory against the Tennessee Titans and are playing against a Minnesota team that is really just a train wreck right now. However, do you remember what happened when the Dallas Cowboys fired HC Wade Phillips and let Jason Garrett take over? Now, Dallas looks like a bunch of gangbusters. I'll take my chances that Minnesota +1 is the right choice for new HC Leslie Frazier.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills (+6.5) – An interesting line here… Three weeks ago, Buffalo would have been a double digit underdog in this one. The Steelers haven't had their very predictable trip up yet against a team that they have absolutely no business losing to, and though I'm not so certain that this is going to be the week, I know that the Bills are playing their best ball of the year, and they are catching Pittsburgh at a time in which it is still reeling with a lot of line injuries on both sides of the ball. I'll grab Buffalo +6.5.

Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans (-6.5) – The Texans continue to invent new ways to lose games, but there's no way that they are losing this one to a team with QB Rusty Smith at quarterback, right? The only way that Houston gets beat here at home is if RB Chris Johnson goes absolutely bananas… just like he did twice last season. But I tend to think that this tough luck Texans squad will get the job done on Sunday just simply out of being in survival mode. I'm backing Houston -6.5.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+7) @ New York Giants – Something really seems wrong right now with the Giants, as they just don't have the look of a team that is winning the Super Bowl or even making the playoffs this year. There are a lot of injuries for QB Eli Manning to contend with, as he won't have the services of either WR Steve Smith or WR Hakeem Nicks on Sunday. Jacksonville is playing its best ball of the season and is really in a position to make the AFC South. Though I'm not so sure that the men from the Sunshine State are going to be pulling off the upset, I'll gladly take Jacksonville +7.

Carolina Panthers (+10) @ Cleveland Browns – Welcome back in the saddle, QB Jake Delhomme! The former Panthers signal caller is going to be leading his new team into battle on Sunday. Assuming that I am dealing with QB Jimmy Clausen and not QB Brian St. Pierre, I have to go with Carolina +10 in this one. There is just no way that I can lay double digits with the Browns no matter where the game is being played.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Baltimore Ravens (-7.5) – Tampa Bay really still hasn't beaten a great team this year, but after pitching a shutout against the San Francisco 49ers, there are some more heads turning in the direction of the 7-3 Bucs. Still, the Ravens are a 7-3 team as well, as I already know that they are a fantastic team. Baltimore might be the best in the NFL, and if that's the case, this isn't a game that it should be losing, or even remotely struggling in. Go with the Ravens -7.5 to make a huge statement.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Chicago Bears (+3.5) – I am so tired of hearing all of this BS about how the Bears aren't a great 7-3 team. Are they going to make the playoffs? I don't know. Toss a coin in the air in the crowded NFC. However, I know that the Eagles are the most overhyped team in the NFC right now, and there is no way that they should be favored at Soldier Field at the end of November. QB Michael Vick could put up another one of these superhuman efforts and beat the snot out of me, but I'll take my chances with the Bears +3.5.

Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons (-2) – This is probably the best game of the day, and it might be the best game of the entire season. The Packers are one of the best teams in the NFC, and they are in a spot where they can become the top team in the conference with a 'W' and some help. QB Aaron Rodgers has a shot to beat up on the Atlanta secondary, which is clearly the soft underside on the belly of this team as a whole. However, QB Matt Ryan has only lost one game at home in his career, and if the Falcons are going to be the best team in the NFC and have the road ot the Super Bowl go through the Georgia Dome, they have to win this one. Atlanta -2

Miami Dolphins @ Oakland Raiders (OTB) – No picks in this one folks. Sorry about that. Until we know who is playing quarterback for either of these teams, there is no sense in trying to make an NFL pick on the game.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Seattle Seahawks (+1.5) – The Chiefs are going on the road in this one to one of the toughest venues to try to play ball at, Qwest Field in Seattle. The Seahawks are just a different team there, and with QB Matt Hasselbeck in the saddle again, they are very, very tough to tame. It only seems like a matter of time until KC collapses under the pressure of the charging San Diego Chargers. Besides, there's no way that all four teams in the NFC West are going to be under .500 after 12 weeks, right? I've gotta go with Seattle +1.5 at home.

St. Louis Rams (+4) @ Denver Broncos – The Rams are a team with some mojo right now, but they are playing some fantastic defense in relation to what they had played last season when they were just a god awful team. The Broncos are snake bitten right now, and they aren't going to be able to win this game by this many points in all likelihood. Simply put, I'll take St. Louis +4

San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts (-3)Remember to make your tiebreaker picks in this game!!! The Colts seem to make a living out of beating NFL spreads like this one. QB Peyton Manning and company wouldn't be in the playoffs if they started today, and "The Sheriff" clearly isn't going to like that. I know that the Chargers are on a roll, but they know that they are winning the AFC West with or without this game. At some point, Indianapolis needs a wakeup call. This is the game that that happens. The Colts -3 are my choice for Sunday Night Football.
