Week 4 of the 2012 AFL season is upon us, and here at Cappers Info, we are taking a look at all of the games that are on the AFL betting lines and making our Arena Football predictions for the week ahead!

Week 4 AFL Matchup: San Antonio Talons @ Orlando Predators
Date: Thursday, March 29th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: San Antonio -2 (104)

We really just don’t have a very good feel about the Predators in this one. They aren’t playing well offensively, and they aren’t all that much of a dangerous looking team. Sure, it is the de facto home opener for the Preds, who played their first game of the year at home with scrubs, but we just don’t think that it will make a difference. San Antonio should get the job done.

AFL Week 4 Pick: San Antonio Talons -2

Week 4 AFL Matchup: Pittsburgh Power @ Milwaukee Mustangs
Date: Thursday, March 29th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: Milwaukee -6.5 (110)

When are the oddsmakers going to learn that Pittsburgh is just a bad team? Bill Stull isn’t a great quarterback. Never has been, and never will be. Milwaukee has the offense to get the job done against some of the best in the league. This Power team isn’t one of the best teams for sure. The ‘Stangs should romp.

AFL Week 4 Pick: Milwaukee Mustangs -6.5

Week 4 AFL Matchup: Arizona Rattlers @ Kansas City Command
Date: Thursday, March 29th, 8:30 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: Arizona -13.5 (106.5)

Kansas City is another one of these teams that just doesn’t have a quarterback. Nate Davis hasn’t completed even 50 percent of his passes this year, and he still might be the best option that the team has when push comes to shove. Arizona hasn’t quite yet played like one of the best teams in the league, but we know that this is still a squad with a heck of a lot of talent. Asking for a two TD victory shouldn’t be too much, though it is a heck of a lot of points for sure.

AFL Week 4 Pick: Arizona Rattlers -13.5

Week 4 AFL Matchup: Jacksonville Sharks @ Tampa Bay Storm
Date: Friday, March 30th, 7:30 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: Jacksonville -2 (101)

The Sharks aren’t nearly the same team that won the title last year, and Omar Jacobs is coming off of a game in which he tossed four picks last week. Tampa Bay doesn’t have all that much to look forward to this year either, knowing that Steve Wasil really is one of the worst signal callers in the league, but we like the way that the defense looks for the boys that are going to host this game. The Storm should be good enough to get the job done at home.

AFL Week 4 Pick: Tampa Bay Storm +2

Week 4 AFL Matchup: San Jose SaberCats @ Spokane Shock
Date: Friday, March 30th, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: Spokane -1 (127.5)

An easy ‘under’ play here as well. The Shock don’t have the offense to be able to put 50 on the board against most teams in this league with Adam Froman calling the shots, and though the SaberCats do have one of the best offenses in the game, it isn’t going to make a difference. 127.5 is just far too many. Because we are handicapping sides though, we know that the SaberCats are clearly the better bet of the two teams. They should be able to come on the road and win in a hostile environment relatively easily.

AFL Week 4 Pick: San Jose SaberCats +1

Week 4 AFL Matchup: Chicago Rush @ Iowa Barnstormers
Date: Saturday, March 31st, 8:00 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: Chicago -2.5 (109)

The Barnstormers are one of these teams that we really just don’t have a great feeling for right now. We tend to think that they can compete to get into the second season, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t. Chicago is a good outfit, but the two teams that it has beaten this year (Tampa Bay and Orlando) aren’t exactly all that stellar, and there is a big difference between coming to the Barn and playing in the Windy City. We’ll take the points.

AFL Week 4 Pick: Iowa Barnstormers +2.5

Week 4 AFL Matchup: New Orleans VooDoo @ Utah Blaze
Date: Saturday, March 31st, 10:00 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: Utah -9.5 (118)

The VooDoo are a heck of a lot better than one would probably figure this year. Sure, the team was absolutely atrocious a season ago, but Head Coach Pat O’Hara is going to have this team winning again sooner than later. Utah has a great offense, but not much else. We want the points on our side, and we think that a moneyline play at perhaps +300 or so might be in order on the Doo as well.

AFL Week 4 Pick: New Orleans VooDoo +9.5

Week 4 AFL Matchup: Cleveland Gladiators @ Philadelphia Soul
Date: Sunday, April 1st, 6:00 ET
Arena Football Week 4 Odds: Philadelphia -9.5 (111)

The Soul looked very, very good against Pittsburgh last week, but we aren’t so sure just how good the Power really are. Cleveland’s defense looks okay, but the offense looks all out of sorts at this point. This is a brutal game for the Gladiators, who probably don’t stand all that much of a chance. Dan Radabaugh, a birthday boy this week, should lead the Soul to a comfortable win in their home opener.

AFL Week 4 Pick: Philadelphia Soul -9.5

The final team of the year opens up its home schedule on Monday Night Football, and we are set to make our NFL picks for the clash between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Indianapolis Colts.

Year To Date Record: 11-9 ATS

Upset Record: 2-8 -$550

Week 4 NFL Matchup: Indianapolis Colts @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Date: Monday, October 3rd, 8:30 ET
Location: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay, FL
NFL Week 4 Lines: Tampa Bay -10.5
Over/Under 40.5
Week 4 NFL TV Schedule: ESPN

Colts Notes: It’s already pretty much been proven that the Colts weren’t going anywhere this year with QB Kerry Collins calling the shots. Perhaps they won’t be all that much better with QB Curtis Painter, but at least this is something different that could potentially help out the team, not just now, but in the future as well. Painter came in last week and led Indianapolis in its 23-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers by going 5-of-11 for 60 yards. Those after fantastic numbers to say the least, but at least it was a tad more competent than what the Colts fans have become used to without QB Peyton Manning. Interestingly enough, the ground game was solid last week against Pittsburgh’s stout defense, as it was the best game of the season for RB Joseph Addai. He needs a least another 50-60 yards on the ground to give Painter half of a chance of success.

Buccaneers Notes: There’s a real question about how good the Bucs really are at 2-1 this year. Sure, the only loss came against a Detroit Lions team that might be a whole heck of a lot better than most figured at the outset of the year, but the two wins were both struggles against the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings, both of which might not be all that great. What we do know is that this team is gritty. QB Josh Freeman only has two TDs against four picks, but he has a knack for really playing well down the stretch of games, a quality that most quarterbacks don’t truly have. Defensively, Tampa Bay had its best game last week against the Falcons, and the team has now allowed just a total of 16 points in its last three halves of football after giving up 17 in the first half alone at the Vikes in Week 2.

The Final Word: Neither one of these offenses are particularly scary to us. We know that the Colts are going to try their best to run the ball, but we just don’t know how successful they’re going to be. We’re not about to lay double digits in a game with a team that has played three games separated by a grand total of 13 points. However, we’re not afraid to take the ‘under’.

Week 4 NFL Pick: Tampa Bay/Indianapolis Under 40.5

NFL Football Prediction: Tampa Bay 19 – Indianapolis 13

It should be a brutal, hard hitting game on NBC’s Sunday Night Baseball, as two teams that look awfully similar to one another square off. The Baltimore Ravens will come home to take on the New York Jets.

Year To Date Record: 11-9 ATS

Upset Record: 2-8 -$550

Week 4 NFL Matchup: New York Jets @ Baltimore Ravens
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 8:25 ET
Location: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD
NFL Week 4 Lines: Baltimore -3.5
Over/Under 42.5
Week 4 NFL TV Schedule: NBC

Jets Notes: The Jets really didn’t look all that great last week on the road against the Oakland Raiders, and that definitely gives us cause for concern. This is a shorter road trip, but it is definitely a tougher one, as the Raiders probably aren’t a legitimate Super Bowl contender as Baltimore is. Head Coach Rex Ryan’s defense has allowed a whopping 20.3 points per game thus far on the season. something that you normally don’t see from a unit like this. Of course, the offense has done its job at 27.7 points per game, which is why the Jets enter this week just a game out of the AFC East lead. QB Mark Sanchez put up some good numbers last week, throwing for 369 yards and two TDs, but in truth, he has thrown at least one pick in all three efforts.

Ravens Notes: Baltimore had some issues on the road two weeks ago against the Tennessee Titans, but when push came to shove, it came out last week and absolutely beat the snot out of the St. Louis Rams in a game that was over before it really ever got started. We’ve seen two good games and one putrid game from QB Joe Flacco to start the season, and we wouldn’t be surprised if this is his most important game all season long. That being said, the man of the hour is going to be RB Ray Rice. Rice accounted for 140 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1, and now, against a similar defense, he is going to have to put up similar numbers for the Ravens to win.

The Final Word: The Ravens have historically dominated this series, winning every game that these two have played since 1997. Last year, they won 10-9 in a brutal game at New Meadowlands Stadium, and now that they are back at home, we tend to think that they are going to be the winning ATS side.

Week 4 NFL Pick: Baltimore -3.5

NFL Football Prediction: Baltimore 20 – New York 14

NFL betting action is here again! Here at Cappers Info, we’re making our running tally of NFL picks this year, continuing with action on Sunday, October 2nd!

Year To Date Record: 11-9 ATS

Upset Record: 2-8 -$550

Week 4 NFL Matchup: Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 1:00 ET
Location: Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, TX
NFL Lines: Dallas -2.5
Over/Under 46
Week 4 NFL TV Schedule: FOX

This is the best game that we have seen all season long. The Cowboys are clearly the better team in this game in our opinion, and the oddsmakers aren’t seeing it that way. Sure, Dallas is favored, but it isn’t by enough points. Don’t let that two point win against Washington last week scare you. Knowing that all six of those field goals could have been touchdowns with just a few more pushes makes you wonder just how scary this Dallas offense has the potential to be. We trust QB Tony Romo, even knowing that WR Miles Austin is out and WR Dez Bryant might not play either. The question is whether or not the defense is going to be able to stand up to the mighty Lions or not. Stopping the Megatron, WR Calvin Johnson could prove to be impossible when push comes to shove, but there’s no way that he is going to score two TDs every single week, right?

Week 4 NFL Pick: Dallas -2.5

Week 4 NFL Matchup: Minnesota Vikings @ Kansas City Chiefs
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 1:00 ET
Location: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
NFL Lines: Minnesota -2.5
Over/Under 39.5
Week 4 NFL TV Schedule: FOX

The Chiefs finally showed some ability to play defense last week in a 20-17 loss against San Diego on the road. Now back at home, the ‘D’ has no choice but to step it up just a bit with RB Jamaal Charles out of the fold. The Vikings just haven’t been good offensively for the whole season, and that being said, we think that we have no choice but to play the ‘under’. We expect to see plenty of RB Adrian Peterson running the rock, and this game should melt away in a hurry, especially if QB Matt Cassel really can’t get anything going offensively.

Week 4 NFL Pick: Minnesota/Kansas City Under 39.5

Week 4 NFL Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Houston Texans
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 1:00 ET
Location: Reliant Stadium, Houston, TX
NFL Lines: Houston -4
Over/Under 45
Week 4 NFL TV Schedule: CBS

The Texans and Steelers both play significantly better defense than they have for the most part this year, and we see a lot of potential in both of these teams. The Steelers have no choice but to try to jam the ball right up the gut against the Houston 3-4, as that is where teams have had the best success. This becomes even more important if the rib injury to WR Mike Wallace is truly hampering him. This one will get close to this number, but in the end, we see some defensive stands making the difference between a game that gets past the number and one that doesn’t quite get there.

Week 4 NFL Pick: Pittsburgh/Houston Under 45

Week 4 NFL Matchup: New England Patriots @ Oakland Raiders
Date: Sunday, October 2nd, 4:15 ET
Location: O.co Coliseum, Oakland, CA
NFL Lines: New England -4.5
Over/Under 55
Week 4 NFL TV Schedule: CBS

Let’s start off by saying that we are playing the ‘under’ any time that we can see a 55 hit the board. That’s a whopping eight TDs that need to be scored to beat us. Sure, QB Tom Brady has the ability to do that all by himself in most games, but we are impressed with the way that the Oakland defense played in last week’s home opening win against the Jets. However, we are thinking a play on the Raiders is almost so sharp that it’s square. This week, everyone has seemed to get on the Oakland bandwagon, but we aren’t quite there yet. Head Coach Bill Belichick doesn’t typically lose two straight games, and we don’t think that this is going to be that much of an exception. The Raiders will put up a fight, but it won’t be enough. Expect a 31-20 type of result.

Week 4 NFL Pick: New England -4.5 & New England/Oakland Under 55

College football betting action is here again! Here at Cappers Info, we’re making our running tally of NCAA football picks this year, continuing with action on Saturday, September 24th!

Year To Date Record: 20-13 ATS

Upset Record: 3-6 +$85

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Ohio Bobcats @ Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 2:00 ET
Location: Rutgers Stadium, Piscataway, NJ
College Football Lines: Rutgers -4
Over/Under 50.5
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN3.com

It’s going to be a bit of a MAC weekend for us, starting right here with the Bobcats against Rutgers. Head Coach Greg Schiano just hasn’t gotten anything going since his team was ranked in the Top 5 in the country back in the mid-2000s, and this is a bad looking game for his team as well. Ohio has one of the more consistent teams in the MAC, and with newly installed QB Tyler Tettleton taking over under center, it has really had an efficient offense. Granted, a defense like that of Rutgers hasn’t been seen quite yet, but there is no way that the Scarlet Knights are that much better than what we’ve seen thus far on the Bobcats’ slate.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Ohio +4

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Toledo Rockets @ Syracuse Orange
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 12:00 ET
Location: Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY
College Football Lines: Syracuse -3
Over/Under 54.5
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: Local TV

More from the MAC… Doesn’t this just look like a bit of an eerie line? After all, the Orange were a bowl team last year, and they didn’t take all that much talent away from this roster, and now, they’re just three point favorites at home against Toledo? The Rockets were blown away by Boise State last week at the Glass Bowl, and there can’t be overly high hopes about coming into the Dome and pulling off the upset… Or are there? Remember that this was the same Syracuse club that was just pushed to the brink by Rhode Island two weeks ago… Upset central?

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Toledo +3

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Bowling Green Falcons @ Miami Redhawks
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 1:00 ET
Location: Fred Yager Stadium, Oxford, OH
College Football Lines: Miami -4
Over/Under 52
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: Local TV

A third straight MAC game??? This is the best of the bunch, though, and it is a glorious, glorious spot for a bettor to be in. The squares amongst us will immediately look at the 2-1 record for Bowling Green and think that it has turned the corner just a bit with its program. Slow down, Cowboy. Losing at home against Wyoming is a disgrace, and beating Idaho and Morgan State is nothing to be proud of. This is still one of the worst teams in the MAC at home against a team off of a MAC Championship last season, who just played two rough road games at Mizzou and Minnesota to start off the season. This is a double digit win for the Redhawks for certain.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Miami -4

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Arkansas Razorbacks @ Alabama Crimson Tide
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 3:30 ET
Location: Bryant Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, AL
College Football Lines: Alabama -11.5
Over/Under 51
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: CBS

This is going to be a heck of a test for the Crimson Tide after facing two cupcakes, and a game at Penn State that we’re really not sure how to classify. Arkansas isn’t going to be afraid of Alabama, knowing that it had the Tide dead to rights last year in Fayetteville before coughing the game up late. QB Tyler Wilson is going to be facing a tough SEC road test, but remember that he came into the game at Auburn last year after QB Ryan Mallett went down and lit the world on fire. Granted, there’s a big difference playing against those Tigers and this Alabama ‘D’. We do think that No. 2 team in the land is going to pull this one out, but we’re just not so sure that it is by double digits. Arkansas has a history of being very, very stingy on the road in these SEC clashes.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Arkansas +11.5

Week 4 College Football Matchup: LSU Tigers @ West Virginia Mountaineers
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 8:00 ET
Location: Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV
College Football Lines: LSU -5.5
Over/Under 48
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: ABC

We’re tired of hearing all of this baloney about how the Mountaineers are going to stick it to the Bayou Bengals. Sure, this is the biggest game that Morgantown has seen in quite some time, especially with the glitz and the glamour of the ESPN/ABC crew being on the scene. However, let’s be realistic. LSU was good enough to not just beat Oregon at the outset of the year, but it smashed the Ducks as well. Yes, that wasn’t a road game in hostile territory, but the ‘Neers are absolutely nowhere as good as a team that played in the BCS National Championship Game last season. No offense to QB Geno Smith and company, but there’s just no way that we see this one even being remotely close. The Tigers clearly are head and shoulders above WVU.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: LSU -5.5

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Florida Gators @ Kentucky Wildcats
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 7:00 ET
Location: Commonwealth Stadium, Lexington, KY
College Football Lines: Florida -19.5
Over/Under 44
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

The Gators looked relatively mortal at times last week defensively, and we can’t help but wonder if we’re going to see the same sort of result this week on the road against Kentucky. The Wildcats seem to think that they have a chance of finally beating the Gators every year, but we know better… every single year… That being said, we’re not laying nearly three TDs on the road in an SEC conference game, but we do think that this one is going to feature its share of points. Don’t let these three low scoring games by the Cats scare you; we don’t exactly think that Louisville, Central Michigan, and Western Kentucky have offensively juggernauts. QB Morgan Newton will get his two TDs on the board, and for a ‘total’ this low, that might be enough.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Florida/Kentucky Over 44

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Nevada Wolf Pack @ Texas Tech Red Raiders
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 7:00 ET
Location: Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, TX
College Football Lines: Texas Tech -16
Over/Under 62
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: Local

This is just another one of those great spots for an over/favorite parlay. The Red Raiders have been dropping 50+ on everyone getting in their way this year, and with the way that the Wolf Pack have struggled, we just don’t see any different result happening in this one. Going on the road was tough last week for Nevada against San Jose State, and trust us… Texas Tech is a heck of a lot better than the Spartans. Both of these offenses are going to be flying up and down the field, and there is no doubt in our mind that QB Seth Doege is the better option to be doing just that. The guns will be up in Lubbock, and the Red Raiders will drop 45 on the board in this one.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Texas Tech -16 and Nevada/Texas Tech Over 62

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Vanderbilt Commodores @ South Carolina Gamecocks
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 7:00 ET
Location: Brice Williams Stadium, Columbia, SC
College Football Lines: South Carolina -16
Over/Under 50
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN2

Does this look familiar? South Carolina at home as a 16 point favorite against a team that many are underestimating this season… The Commodores legitimately could be a bowl team this year, and this wouldn’t be the first time that they went on the road and figured out how to stay competitive in a game in conference, especially early in the year. We just don’t trust this South Carolina defense to be able to keep up with anyone right now, and until we see differently, we are going to continue fading it, especially against these huge college football odds.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Vanderbilt +16

Week 4 College Football Matchup: Tulsa Golden Hurricane @ Boise State Broncos
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 8:00 ET
Location: Bronco Stadium, Boise, ID
College Football Lines: Boise State -28
Over/Under 62
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: CBS College Sports

If QB GJ Kinne really isn’t going to be playing in this one for the Golden Hurricane, it is clear that this game is going to be a one-sided romp. Tulsa wouldn’t have its two best offensive players at that point, as WR Damaris Johnson is suspended and almost certainly isn’t playing another college game in his career. So with the Golden Hurricane down on offense and ranking No. 117 in the nation against the pass, things don’t look promising. QB Kellen Moore might not have the same weapons that he did a year ago, but he is still as sharp as could be. There’s no doubt that the Broncos are dropping 50 on the board in this game. The question is whether you think Tulsa can score more than 21. We don’t.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Boise State -28

Week 4 College Football Matchup: USC Trojans @ Arizona State Sun Devils
Date: Saturday, September 24th, 10:15 ET
Location: Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ
College Football Lines: Arizona State -2.5
Over/Under 54
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

It took getting all the way to the bottom of the rotation schedule to find one like this, but alas, here it is again… Ranked team at home against an unranked team, yet is favored. The Sun Devils have now been in this spot for three straight weeks. They beat Mizzou right here on this field even though they were unranked favorites and went on the road last week and lost to Illinois as ranked underdogs. Now, the shoe is back on the other foot… again… and we expect another win for the hosts… again.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Arizona State -2.5

The UCF Knights and BYU Cougars will engage in NCAA football betting action on Friday night in a standalone game on national television. The battle on the college football odds should be intense, as both of these teams know that they have a lot to prove in front of the live TV audience after relatively shaky starts to the season.

Year To Date Record: 20-13 ATS

Upset Record: 3-6 +$85

Week 4 College Football Matchup: UCF Knights @ BYU Cougars
Date: Friday, September 23rd, 8:00 ET
Location: Lavell Edwards Stadium, Provo, UT
College Football Lines: BYU -2
Over/Under 44
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

There’s been a heck of a lot of action this week on UCF, particularly of late with the NCAA football betting lines dropping from BYU -3.5 to -2, but we just aren’t so sure that it’s justified. Last week’s loss against the Florida International Golden Panthers really brought out the worst in the Knights offense, and it was just a harsh reminder of how one-dimensional this club really is. QB Jeff Godfrey is now three games into the season without a touchdown pass, and though he and his top three rushers (Latavius Murray, Brynn Harvey, and Ronnie Weaver) are all fantastic on the ground, when UCF falls behind in a game or just can’t move the rock with the running game, it just isn’t that great of a squad.

The Cougs were absolutely blown away last week by the Utah Utes in the Holy War right here in Provo in the home opener, and you know that they are going to want to make amends. Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall is no dummy, and he watched a Sun Belt team shut down the Knights by putting seven and eight players in the box defensively to slow the running assault. The question is whether QB Jake Heaps is going to rebound from a terrible second half that saw him get stuck on the bench in the midst of a 40-0 Utah outburst. The Knights do have the bar none top defense in Conference USA, and they have only conceded a grand total of 20 points all season long.

This could be a war when push comes to shove, but we tend to think that the hosts are getting off to a good start in this one and ultimately finishing off the visitors. The Cougars are a lot better than their 1-2 record suggests, and they’ll prove in on national television by taking down the C-USA reps at home.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: BYU -2

Thursday night football for college football picks heads to Cincinnati on Thursday night for the only game on the slate, as the Cincinnati Bearcats try to beat the NCAA football odds against the NC State Wolfpack.

Year To Date Record: 19-13 ATS

Upset Record: 3-6 +$85

Week 4 College Football Matchup: NC State Wolfpack @ Cincinnati Bearcats
Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 8:00 ET
Location: Nippert Stadium, Cincinnati, OH
College Football Lines: Cincinnati -7.5
Over/Under 60.5
Week 4 College Football TV Schedule: ESPN

The Bearcats and Wolfpack are both 2-1 teams, but that’s about where the similarities stop between these two squads. NC State knows that just getting to a bowl game this year would be quite the accomplishment, and the team just hasn’t looked good at all in spite of this 2-1 record. QB Mike Glennon just hasn’t played all that well, completing 64.1 percent of his passes for 745 yards, though he does have an 8/1 TD/INT ratio. The real problems are on the defense, which has allowed 22.7 points per game against a schedule that includes two FCS teams and arguably the worst team in the ACC, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati has a couple rock solid results, blowing out both the Akron Zips and the Austin Peay Governors. Sure, the Cats were knocked off by the Tennessee Volunteers on Rocky Top, but there was absolutely no shame in that, knowing that the Vols are going to challenge to be a Top 25 team this year. QB Zach Collaros just hasn’t lived up to his billing in his third year in control of this offense, though he does have 521 yards and seven TDs against no picks on the campaign.

That being said, we just don’t believe that the Wolfpack have a chance to get out of Cincinnati with a victory. The UC offense has the ability to be just too good, and the running game for the Bearcats is too strong for NC State to keep up, especially knowing just how bad this defense really is.

Week 4 NCAA Football Pick: Cincinnati -7.5

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ BC Lions Picks
Week 4 CFL Odds: BC -3.5
CFL Week 4 Lines: Over/Under 49.5

The Lions are arguably the best team to ever start 0-3 in a season that we have seen in the CFL. Realistically, they could be a 2-1 outfit, but the bad news is that their worst game came last week against Edmonton. BC has a major QB dilemma, but Head Coach Wally Buono is standing firmly behind his choice, QB Travis Lulay. Unfortunately for the Ti-Cats, this is going to be the week that Lulay gets back on the horse and makes the most of his chance as a starter. Last week’s 33-3 win against Saskatchewan has definitely been blown out of proportion. Free CFL Picks: BC -3.5

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Toronto Argonauts Picks
Week 4 CFL Odds: Toronto -3
CFL Week 4 Lines: Over/Under 46

The Argos were knocked off by Winnipeg just two weeks ago, and the two are going to be back at it once again this week in an East Division tussle. The Blue Bombers could have some major issues under center is QB Buck Pierce can’t go or ends up getting hurt for the second straight week in game. He was replaced after suffering his quadriceps injury by QB Joey Elliott, who was knocked out for the rest of the season. Now, if anything happens to Pierce, it’ll be up to the inexperienced QB Alex Brink under center. Toronto is finally playing its first game here at Rogers Centre this season, and it should be a memorable one for sure. Free CFL Picks: Toronto -3

Edmonton Eskimos @ Calgary Stampeders Picks
Week 4 CFL Odds: Calgary -3.5
CFL Week 4 Lines: Over/Under 53

The Battle of Alberta is always tense, and this edition of the rivalry game should be no exception. Either Edmonton is going to be two games up, or Calgary will have leveled the proceedings atop the West Division with this one. The Esks really need to prove that they can play against the Stamps though, as they were blown away by almost 100 total points in three games last season, including allowing 50+ to Calgary in both meetings here at McMahon Stadium. The Stampeders haven’t put their best foot forward yet this year, and they are lucky to be a 2-1 team right now, but we just have to believe that this price is far too short for a rivalry game, especially knowing that QB Henry Burris is bound to have a great game eventually. Free CFL Picks: Calgary -3.5

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Montreal Alouettes Picks
Week 4 CFL Odds: Montreal -11.5
CFL Week 4 Lines: Over/Under 56

Here’s a case where we have a pair of two time Grey Cup participants that are going in completely opposite directions. The Alouettes look like they’re primed for a three-peat, while Saskatchewan doesn’t even seem like a team that is going to make the second season. QB Darian Durant has pulled some amazing things out of his hat though, and it would be very, very much so like him to come off of his 9-of-23 game by putting up 380 passing yards and five TDs against Montreal. Can the Saskatchewan defense even remotely hold down the Alouettes? In all likelihood, the answer is no, but there’s definitely a good chance to stick inside of this number even without the SU win. Free CFL Picks: Saskatchewan +11.5

I am the Gridiron Great, and I have been handicapping the NFL for a number of years. I've learned the ins and outs of what it takes to beat the bookies at this game, and I know just how difficult it can be. Do you think you can beat me at my own game? Every week that you do, you'll be entered into a grand prize drawing at the end of the season for a $1,000 Oddsmaker Sportsbook account. Even if you don't beat me though, you can still collect a $100 account from Oddsmaker just by having the most picks correct amongst Cappers Info readers.

There is no greater time to try to get into this competition than right now, as every week you beat me gives you another opportunity at that big cash prize at the end of the year. Let's get started right now with my Week 4 picks…

Denver Broncos (+6.5) @ Tennessee Titans – The Broncos did a lot better job keeping up with the Colts last week than I figured they would, but they still came up on the wrong side of the number. The problem with trying to beat Denver with its ground game is that its front seven is good enough to contain RB Chris Johnson. Aside from that, the passing attack on offense is going to absolutely be strong enough to beat a defense that historically struggles against the pass. If the Denver OL can keep the Titans' front seven off of QB Kyle Orton's back, it'll make for easy NFL picks to take the Broncos +6.5.

Baltimore Ravens (+1.5) @ Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers are playing with house money right now, but that doesn't mean that they can take on this Baltimore team, clearly their biggest test of the year. The Ravens know that they can take control of the AFC North once again with a win, and I'm still a believer that this is one of the best teams in the NFL. Going with Baltimore +1.5.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns (+3) – QB Jake Delhomme might be back, and if that's the case, the Browns could prove to be stingy in this one. They were certainly worthy against my Ravens last weekend, sticking in front of the double digit spread. If RB Peyton Hillis is running for 144 yards on Baltimore, what can he do against Cincinnati? The Bengals might be meeting their match on Sunday. Brownies +3 at home for certain.

Detroit Lions (+14.5) @ Green Bay Packers – The Packers are starting to scare me. They have no running game to speak of whatsoever. Though it isn't going to make a bit of difference against Detroit's porous secondary in terms of winning the game, trying to preserve this type of a lead in the dying minutes without a running game is simply asking for a backdoor cover. I'll bet that Detroit hits the NFL spread once again by finding that backdoor. I'm all for Detroit +14.5.

Carolina Panthers (+13.5) @ New Orleans Saints – Once again… I hate teams with no running games. The Panthers certainly have one, while the Saints don't. There's no way that New Orleans is losing a second straight home game, especially with a rookie quarterback making his first career start on the road. If HC John Fox wants to keep his job, he'll have his boys fired up for this one. It won't result in a victory, but QB Jimmy Clausen will show signs of improvement and the Panthers +13.5 will cash by a slim margin.

San Francisco 49ers (+7) @ Atlanta Falcons – This is certainly a ton of underdogs that I'm playing on this week, no? C'mon, let's be real here. The 49ers can't possibly be this bad, can they? After all, this was a team that many of us thought was winning the NFC West… and it very well could still happen. Atlanta has to be full of itself after last week's 'W' in the Superdome. Not so fast, my friends. The Niners win this sucker outright. Going with San Francisco +7.

Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams (+1) – The Rams picked up their first victory last week against the 'Skins, and we tend to think that they can get back to .500 on Sunday. Seattle beat the Bolts last week thanks to a pair of RB Leon Washington kick returns for TDs. That isn't going to happen this week. Go with QB Sam Bradford and the Rams +1.

New York Jets (-5.5) @ Buffalo Bills – Remember when the Bills were losing all those Super Bowls and they were the Boy I Love Losing Super Bowls? How about this one? Boy I Love Losing Shady Lines. The Jets remember last year when Buffalo marched into the Meadowlands, picked off six passes, and ultimately won a close contest as big pups. Returning the favor this week will feel sweet as New York moves to 3-0 in division. I'm riding the Jets -5.5.

Houston Texans (-3) @ Oakland Raiders – It's probably a little early to be pushing the panic button for the Texans, but if they don't end up winning this game and winning it by a relatively comfortable margin, they're in for a nightmare in the weeks to come. You think Fox was on the hot seat in Carolina? Kubiak knows it's playoffs or bust. This could be a must win. Houston -3 for me, even if it is a square as anything play.

Indianapolis Colts (-8) @ Jacksonville Jaguars – If QB Michael Vick threw for nearly 300 yards last week against the Jags, what do you think QB Peyton Manning is going to do? Yeah, I know that Jacksonville has a history of getting up for this game every year, and yeah, I know it seems like the Jags are always dogs and are always challenging. But this year is different. This Jacksonville team is on the verge of giving up. Stick with Peyton and his Colts -8.

Arizona Cardinals @ San Diego Chargers (-9) – OL Ryan McNeill is back in camp, and that's good news for the Chargers. He won't have an impact on the field right away, but when push comes to shove, that could be a huge boost in the locker room. The Cardinals don't stand a fighting chance in this one if the Bolts don't want them to. Go with San Diego -9.

Washington Redskins (+6.5) @ Philadelphia Eagles – Don't get me wrong. I love what QB Michael Vick has been doing in Philly this year, but let's be real about one thing. He topped the Jags and the Lions. Whoopdie doo. There are now three weeks of tape on him to look at, and HC Mike Shanahan isn't an idiot. Don't you think that LB Brian Orakpo will be watching Vick like a hawk on Sunday? Parlay that with the fact that the 'Skins are bringing this QB Donovan McNabb guy with them… there could be fireworks, for sure. I definitely want the points and Washington +6.5 in this one.

Chicago Bears (+3.5) @ New York GiantsRemember to make your tiebreaker picks in this game!!! I've come to the conclusion that the Giants just aren't that good this year and the Bears really might be that good. The short passing game is going to absolutely horrify this New York defense, which just got rammed into 32 times by RB Chris Johnson last week. There's no way I can pick on a team that just had three personal fouls called… on its offensive tackles… in a game. I hate Da Bears, but I have to go with Chicago +3.5.
