WAC Thursday
LOUISIANA TECH +10 vs Utah St. ........2*
LOUISIANA TECH (3-13, 0-4WAC) plays host to conference leading Utah St.(14-5, 4-0WAC) tonight. This will be Utah St. first road game since Dec.8th and they'll be facing a Utah St. team that just completed a 3 game road trip in which they went 0-3, but did cover the spread in all 3 games. Utah St. has only played 5 road games all year and they are 1-4 in those games w/ the only win coming @CS-Bakersfield, in their 4 other road games they have lost by 7pts to Weber St., 14pts @ CAL POLY-SLO, 19pts @ UC-IRVINE, and 24pts @ UTAH. Louisiana Tech should be plenty fired up at a chance to knock off the top team in the WAC and I feel that Utah St. is in a bit of a let down spot traveling to play a team they should be able to easily handle. I feel this will end up being a pretty close game and i'll take the double digit points w/ Louisiana Tech.
NEVADA +5 @New Mexico St. .......1*
NEW MEXICO ST.(10-10, 4-1WAC) will be playing w/ a chance to continue it's good conference season tonight against NEVADA (10-7, 2-2WAC). This is a game where I think the 2 teams are pretty evenly matched, so I'm rolling w/ the points as I usually do....I think Nevada comes out in this game looking to get the bad taste out of their mouths after being beaten up @ home against Boise St. by 15. So far Nevada is 1-1 on the road in conference games w/ their only loss being @ San Jose St by 2pts. I look for this game to be similar to the SJSU one and be close and competitive down to the wire.
SAN JOSE ST. +1 @ Idaho .........1*
SAN JOSE ST. (9-8, 2-3WAC) looks to keep their overall record above .500 and pull their conference record to .500 as they travel to IDAHO (4-13, 1-5WAC). I really feel like I'm getting trapped here getting points w/ SJSU against Idaho. Idaho has only won 1 conference home game this season against WAC basement dwellers Louisiana Tech, they have lost by 10pts to New Mexico St. and 11pts to Boise St., and I don't see this game being any different as I think that SJSU is just as good as NMS. Unless SJSU completely doesn't show up or if they have a late second half meltdown as they have become accustomed to doing the past few games, they should win the game.
HAWAII +11.5 @ Boise St. .........1*
BOISE ST. (13-5, 4-2WAC) will be playing HAWAII (7-10, 3-2WAC) team who suddenly is becoming a threat in the WAC. I think this is just a spot of giving Hawaii a few to many points, they have already proven they can go on the road and hang w/ the tops in the WAC, only lossing by 6 @conference leader Utah St., and winning @ SanJoseSt. by 6. While Boise is capable of putting up a lot of points tonight, I feel that Hawaii is begining to find it's stride on offense as well and should be able to put up enough points to keep this game within single digits.
haven't really looked over any of the other games tonight, so I may be adding some more......I wasn't a big fan of the WAC games tonight as the winners weren't "jumping" out at me like they usually do, but we shall see what happens, hopefully the dogs are biting tonight.
