How do the handicappers figure out who to pit Tiger against each week? e.g. Tiger vs. Carlos Franco last week. Looks like a sucker's bet yet Franco almost beats him! How they figure this out???

I don't and can't accurately predict golf with consistancy. Golf is insanly hard to handicap unless you have some inside information and know the players. You can follow the streaks and see how they have been playing. You can your reasearch and see how they are playing the course in the practice rounds. Best information I can give you. I have no systems or stratagies for handicapping the PGA tour. Some cappers here may, but not me. I don't really bet them. If I do, it's small and for fun.

appreciate it bro. love to get insight into this one. maybe it's a good example of how much more the handicappers know than we realize

VERY Few (use that term loosely) have any "inside" information. It's with team based sports, a lot of different factors can effect the outcome. Using all the facors, statisics, and past streaks to your advtantage in picking the outcome should be the definition of the handicapping. I am not a golf handicapper. I really have yet to meet a strong one.

i love golf and follow it closely but if anyone can say they can "handicap" a tournament thats just crazy...i put money down on the majors each year just picking a few players looking at the course and the style of players that could look favorable but outside of that its a total crapshoot...sure Tiger is a great pick at Augusta and St Andrews....other than that there is no sure thing in golf
