I just saw an early line of Akron -2 against W. Michigan and I like Akron in this spot. Looking back I see Western has a 20 point win against them. I think Akron has a reasonable team and that they may actually deserve a tourney spot, but need to win the conference tourney to be sure. On the other hand it is important for Western as they will not get an "at-large bid" under any circumstance. The 20 point loss is easily the worse margin of defeat to the Zips who finished the conference 11-5 and that was the only uncompetitive game of their entire season.
Now I am not big on the revenge angle as like the prize(tourney bid) is much more motivating to both teams. Kind of like saying the Giants will win the Super Bowl as they have revenge in their favor. I am pretty sure the Giants motivation was SB championship as Akron will be motivated by the potential tournament bid.:D
I look to be on the Zips tomorrow night. For whatever it is worth the location is a shorter drive for the Akron fans.
