(NHL) San Jose @ Minnesota

2* Minnesota -0.5 -135

Instead of folding under after their lackluster 1-0 loss to Chicago in the season opener, the Wild found their legs in a big way hosting the Rangers. They notched 5 goals, including 4 unanswered, despite the absense of holdouts Gaborik and Dupuis. They should get some carry-over tonight, after getting big production from Zholtok, Brunette, and Bombardir. They'll be skating with confidence, and it doesn't hurt that they catch the 0-2 San Jose Sharks in a bad spot. San Jose travels 1200 miles, after losing in Calgary last night, to play their third road game in four days to open the season. Consider the Sharks to be in a rebuilding year, with Vinny Damphousse (-13 last year) and Mike Ricci (-12) leading the way in the absense of Teemu Selanne and Owen Nolan. With Nabokov in net last night, expect to see young Vesa Toskala between the pipes for just his second road start ever. Roloson takes his turn in net for the Wild tonight. He has a 2.12 GAA and .917 SP in 48 home starts. He allowed just 1 goal on 22 shots in Chicago. Including last year's schedule, Minnesota is 26-13-3 at home with no overtime losses. The Sharks are 11-28-4 on the road, and 0-9-2 in their last 11. San Jose is 0-4-1 in their last 5 trips to Minny, and 1-4-1 when playing without rest. The Wild are 5-1-0 when hosting a team without rest.
