Kent State (+1) vs. Temple (440-400)

Hey guys,

I really like Kent State tonight for several reasons. First, Kent State is the home dog on a weeknight college football game. Second, Kent State is rushing the ball for 229 YPG while Temple's defense is giving up about 160 ypg on the ground. Finally, while Kent State has only 2 wins this year, they have been competitive in several other games vs. MAC teams and I think they will be fired up in front of the home crowd Wednesday and get a W.

I am game. Although Temple's defense has improved since early in the season, I still like this play and I think Kent State will continue to pump out the yards on the ground. Over the last 5 games Kent State has averaged 237 yards on the ground. So their running game continues to work.

Kent States defense has given up a good amount of points and is the only question mark with this one. But, they are still averaging almost 3 takeaways per game and Temple doesn't exactly have a high-powered offense. They were able to get 6 turnovers in their win two weeks ago vs. Miami-Ohio who is a similar caliber team as Temple. I think you are right about Kent State controlling this matchup between two bad teams. Golden Flashes at home...

Some good insight, Louie. Also, you make a good point with the Kent State defense. While they are not exactly the Steel Curtain, they are very opportunistic when it comes to turnovers. Temple is rushing for less than 100 ypg, therefore, they will have to air it out. When they do, Kent State should be able to make a few big plans on the defensive side of the ball which should lead to some points.

I'll be on it. I already liked it prior to your post NY. However, with you liking them and the season you are having it would be hard to go against any of your picks right now. I do agree with Louie about Kents defense being suspect. That being said Temples offense is not going to light many scoreboards.
