Stock, ETF, or Mutual Fund Portfolio Additions?
Anyone have any tips on some stocks to add to my portfolio.
I own a bunch of ETFs as I am afraid to invest in any one company...
Anyone have any good ones?

I have a long term portfolio... I have a few ETFs and I contribute monthly to several funds. Not trying to beat the market in a day. Although, if you have some good short term suggestions, I am interested as well. I am not the best at playing the market. But again, this is why I stick with safer, longer term funds, ETFs, & BDC's.
I also think investment (stocks and fund) picks will make a nice addition to this forum.

One stock I follow quite a bit is CAT, living in Illinois and working indirectly with them I see and hear alot of information. Their price is in the 90's right now, which is a little high, however, they do like to split it when it gets in the low 100's. They are investing heavily in new plants, infastructure and employees right now. If you think it'll split in the next 6-8 months, which it very easily could, then now would be a good time to get in. If you don't think it'll split, sit until it gets back in the 70's. I've been high on CAT for quite awhile.
Note: I'm not good at the timing the market either.

Oil stocks... Gotta get some now. Winter months could be SOB.
DO pays a small quarterly dividend, but if you prefer the ETFs, try USO.
I miss playing the stock market. I made a pretty penny doing it from the dropoff in 2008 through the beginning of this year, but the fiance made me taking everything out to pay off my house. Now I've got a wedding to build up money for, then it's going to be the next house purchase, and then maybe I'll get a chance to play with the market again... who knows when that'll be, though.
