Trends:
There is much to say about the post positions here. #1 post has only won once in the past 50 years. Only 6 horses from gate 10 on have won in that same time period. The favorite Animal Kingdom in the 11 spot...horse has one win in the 11 spot in the past 50 years. #7 spot has been the hottest gate as of late with 6 winners coming in the past 22 years (27%).

Only 7 of the last 39 preakness winners skipped the Derby. Look for one of the derby runners to win.
