Two For The Money
One of the few movies I have actually seen in a theater in YEARS! Dragged my (non bettor) boyfriend. Figured I couldn't go wrong with two hot men (Pachino and Matthew M) in a movie about sports betting! Must say I found it seriously depressing. Good insight into the tout industry. Not sure if I didn't gamble I would find it too interesting.. Anyone else see it? Opinions?

In Action Girl, I was going to take my non sports watching wife to see it.
Bad Idea?
Would she be at all interested?

You know... I honestly don't know. I don't think she would hate it but I'm not sure she would enjoy herself too much... my boyfriend thought it was a bit long (he's a non sports type and even bigger non gambler type)...I'm not sure even a sports nut would like it if they weren't a gambler... it was kind of a downer in my opinion...sorry I can't be of more help but I can't look at it objectively I guess. She might be able to sit thru it but you will probably owe her one.... I see a "chick flick" in your future!!! If you DO go, let me know what she thinks! I am very curious.

p.s. Most women would enjoy it just to see a shirtless Matthew M!

I wanna see this movie, what would u rate it out of ten having seen it already? -
-
I have read some not so good reviews but I think that is that some people just don't get some of the irony... (last minute TD to lose the under) It's not going to win any Oscars but I enjoyed it ok... puts you on kind of an emotional rollercoaster as "John Anthony"'s character loses himself while riding high then hits an "inactiongirl" kind of losing streak...(lol) but if i had to rate it i would give it a 7 i guess... Another guy on another betting site said he loved it. Go see it and let me know what you think. I haven't quite decided... but there is a great scene in it with A.P's character at a G.A. meeting! I won't ruin it for ya but it ends up being pretty funny.

Me either Superman! (hadn't been to the movies in forEVER but had to go see this one.) Hope I didn't sour anyone from seeing it. I liked it.. Just not sure I loved it. Probably cuz it actually depressed me a bit. Some of it was just a Little too close to home. But I am really interested in hearing what anyone else thinks!

Me too! Well The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at least. I haven't read the others, but I actually bought the set last year intending to read them at some point. Sometimes it's nice to revisit readings from your youth!

I liked the movie a lot. It's got a spicey plot and Pacino is my favorite actor ever. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mention Cappersinfo.com when registering at these online sporsbooks & recieve the best bonuses on the web: •• Get a 100% match play bonus (UP TO $1,000) at JustBet: Click Here for more on this offer. thanks for the info on the movie.
I think I'll still watch it, but maybe just wait till the dvd comes out.
It's good in a way, when movies get too hyped up and they don't live up to the expectations its a real let down. But when you're expecting not that much but get a good movie it's always a nice surprise.
Lion Witch and Wardrobe looks pretty good from the trailers. big budget with full special effects treatment. looking forward to that one too -

I went and saw it last night and I thought it was great. But I do agree with in action girl that if you're not into betting I really don't know why you'd find it interesting (sort of like how someone who isnt into poker wouldnt find a movie like rounders interesting). I went with 5 of my friends who are smaller gamblers but they still gamble so they understood what the words they were using mean (eg they say parlay, teaser, tout, chase, handicapping, etc) but I heard people during the movie behind me asking people what a "parlay" was and stuff like that. And I think some people who were in the movie didn't really understand the concept of what a point spread was because after the movie I heard people asking what -5 meant and stuff like that. So for some people I could see how they really wouldn't like it, but from our standpoint I think you'd love it if you're into betting.
The only sure thing is that there is no sure thing. -
