Sports gambling in general
In my years I have seen almost everything. We all know there are no locks or guarantees in this hobby of ours. I write this as I try to be the voice of reason, and can relate a story most of us have lived.
Last week I picked 6 college games and 3 pro games. I bet small as I have alot going on and their was a day when I would have several bets of $100 to $500 going in a day. A day of $7,000 to $10,000 worth of bets was normal, and I would watch the games religiously.
My message is form a plan and live with it. Don't bet more on the late game because you have had a terrible day. There are games every day of the year to bet on, and why does anyone need to get even today? You will have good days and bad days, but doubling up at the end of a bad day will tend to bite you in the ass in the long run. If you didn't think enough of that game to bet big on it early, then why all of a sudden do you have this urge to double or triple up on it now. It was such a frickin' good play, you would have bet more the first time, right?
I found myself down 1-3 after my first 4 games, and almost did exactly what I just said not to do. It came to me, it is the first week of the season and why do I need to double up now? I was not thinking logically, as I was afraid of losing. I didn't overbet, so losing all 6 games would not have been the end of the world(embarassing yes)
Moral is figure out what you want to do before the day starts when you are of a clear mind. Making decisions based on the outcome of earlier games will give you more stress and often will increase your losses to a not so comfortable amount.
We have all season, so let's have some fun. Good luck to all.
