"Cappersinfo Player" Status

Anyone who is wondering why some members have "Cappersinfo Player" listed under their username and what it means, this will explain.

What is a "Cappersinfo Player" member?

These are the full and regular members of this community. They are the regulars at this site and are treated as such. These members are free to upload their own profile pictures and custom avatars for their username. Also, if any of these members are having issues with a sponsor sportsbook, the admin and mods at this site will personally handle these issues and contact the sportsbook directly on their behalf (if needed). These members are also allowed to participate in any free money contests where no post-up or sportsbook deposit is required. Basically, these members are considered an asset to the Cappersinfo.com site and are treated as such. If you are a new member and you see "Cappersinfo Player" under a member's username, you should know that these are the people that you will be discussing sports handicapping with on a regular basis here at these forums.

How do I reach "Cappersinfo Player" status:

It really simple. Once a member reaches a total of 100 posts on this board, the admin and mods of this board are notified of the milestone. The admin and mods will then look over the user's histroy and his/her posts. We will then change the users status if we agree that the user meets "Cappersinfo Player" status. 99% of the time, any user who has been a member for at least 30 days gets to 100 posts within a reasonable time frame will usually automatically be awarded "Cappersinfo Player" status. They would have to be considered a problem member or someone who doesn't actually contribute to be denied status. Basically, we just will look over the member's participation and make sure that they are truly active and participating members before bumping them.

Yea...he did...He posted from 2004 to 2007...I am sure Minnow remembers him...You've already surpassed him as far as your tenure here.

CanadianGuy was a very active poster and a pretty valuable member to this forum. He offered some good general advice for novice cappers. He posted about 10 times a day. He was a lot like NattyBumpo in his research, but not as talented of a handicapper (and he was wound very tight).

One day I asked him very nicely & politely to avoid discussing sportsbooks that weren't sponsors (as you know, a big reason for this rule is to prevent members from ending up at a bad book). He got very fired up and left. I asked him many times to come back and made it clear that I would consider endorsing the books he thought were quality books...one of those books was thegreek (who recently cut off US players). I tried to make it clear that I was only looking out for my players and I couldn't trust books that weren't willing to open their doors to me.

He didn't see it that way. He said he found some other forum to post on. So, I just let him go. I probably should just expire his account as he hasn't been back in 4 years. Pruning old members is something I should think about doing to speed up the site.

Some further history of Cappersinfo.com & Cappersinfo.com Forums;

-This message board has been on the web since 2002.

-I had started it in one of my college classes (instead of doing school work).

-Originally, this forum had the URL thesportsboard.com. I didn't have the funding to pay for it (poor college student). So, I got the funding from three or four sports handicapping services (only one of which is still around) and allowed me to get the site up and running and pay for the costs. -Cappersinfo Unveiled - I created Cappersinfo.com (a big ugly red site) a year later. I actually did this as a project for college where I had to create an internet website. -Eventually I bought out the services (or stopped taking their funding) and acquired thesportsboard.com and redesigned Cappersinfo.com. I finally merged the two sites together (in 2004)

I still have bigger plans to revamp this site again in the near future. But, it will require some time, money, and freelance employees.
