Everyone in the world needs to see Avatar. You can take your children, your lady friends or your grandparents, and they will all leave the theater in awe. This movie was $400 million well spent, the graphics are like nothing I've ever seen (especially if you have a local IMAX theater). While the story is a little far fetched, and the movie is 2 hours and 45 minutes long, the way the real life characters are implemented in the CGI graphics hasn't been done in a movie before. Ever. This is going to be the first movie of many more designed like this, I got my mother and brother seeing it today, and I think everyone should see it also. I don't usually recommend spending $15.00 to see a movie, but this one is definitely worth the price of a ticket.

BW...I really had no plans on seeing this movie. I don't think I can take 2 hours and 45 minutes of fantasy science fiction. But, if it's worth watching, I'll wait until I can Tivo it in 1080p and watch it in parts I guess.

I saw a movie the other night called "Zero Effect" and it was pretty good. Last night after the football games I watched an older legal drama called "A Civil Action" with Travolta, Robert Duvall, Tony Shaloub, and William H. Macy. Quality movie.

I've caught a couple movies in the last few weeks, as the weather has been horrible. Edge of Darkness was OK. I'm not a big fan of Mel Gibson, he's a little too old to be an action hero, but if you can get past that, the story was good.
Book of Eli was the worst Denzel Washington movie I've ever seen. He's walking around with his cape and gun for two hours, doing nothing. Both action scenes were in the previews.
Sherlock Holmes was good, but not great. If you read the books, it's nothing like that. The whole movie revolves around solving one case but the dialogues between Watson and Holmes were hilarious. Worth seeing.
I also plan on seeing Shutter Island in the near future. I have high hopes for that one.

I have had absolutely no desire to see this movie, but I've been told that it just won't be the same when it comes out on dvd. So...since the reviews are great and I hate to miss out on something good, I'm going to go see it this weekend. Hope it's worth it!

Why won't it be the same. I would think that it would be move impressive on BluRay with a large HDTV...

I hope shutter island is better than the book. It was one of the best books I have read until the ending which was totally stupid and ridiculous. I have to agree with Avatar ,though the story was average the film itself was unlike anything you have ever seen, but way too long. The Book of Eli was horrible. I did see wolfman and that was decent.

These all seem like a bunch of lame movies. I am just not buying what Hollywood is selling anymore. Just seems like they can't make a movie unless it hits every single demographic.

They would rather have a movie complely suck and make 25 million profit then have a movie be the best movie ever and make 24 milliion because you can't take the kids...

And what the Christ is with all these comic book movies? How about one more Incredible Hulk movie for the booger eaters....?

Why not make every comic book movie one more time, but do it in 3D. That will make a few mil.

be careful what u wish for Louie. The way 3-D is going it would not be a surprise if all those stupid comics come out again in 3-D.

I did hear that the new Jeff Bridges movie is supposed to be incredible. It has not gotten much hype yet but after looking into it most critics already think it will win an oscar as well as Bridges.
