Online Poker Pisses Me Off So Much
I just played in a $100 buy in tournament with about 3,000 players. I was playing for about 4.5 hours (from 1 to 5:30pm) and I was top 10 in chips. Then, my typical ending; I have the nut straight off the flop, and I get put all in, (of all people) by one of the 9 guys in the entire field that has a bigger stack then me. He has top pair, and he catches a runner runner flush to knock me out of the tournament. The odds of me losing that hand are so ridiculously slim, but the odds of me losing that hand to one of the 9 guys (out of the 1500 left) with a larger stack then me are astronomical. This type of crap happens all the time at the big poker rooms like Full Tilt and Poker Stars. Anymore when I play online poker, no matter how good I play, I can't win at these places because of crazy stuff just like this. I am 100% convinced that these poker rooms are programmed with an algo that induces action, creates better hands, faster tournaments, and more betting (in cash and tournament games). Not only that, there are players that are working for the poker room playing and winning more then the real customers. Save your money from what is becoming one of the biggest scams on the internet; online poker.

I hate online poker. Last time I played, I threw my mouse across the room. Something about that game just gets on my nerves.
While were on the subject, dont play blackjack online either. I was caught in a nothing-better-to-do moment last summer and lost 500$ trying to martingale blackjack just to get back to even on the day.
The way I see it, like everything electronic, If the machine wants me to win, it'll just give it to me. Im not going to draw cards to get the royal flush, Im not going to bet every single line. If it wants me to be a winner, it will just give me the jackpot.

You pretty much have to play opposite how you normally would. I had Bodog figured out pretty well at one point in time. Haven't played online for about a year now though.

Ya, I'm with BPD, I quit online poker a while ago. It is very frustrating to play well and get two outed all the time. Here in Michigan we've been having a ton of charity poker rooms pop up, where they have nightly tournaments (usually ranging from 40-100 players and $20-50 buy in) that has the same juice as the casino or internet but their cut goes to a charity. I play in the $40 tournament on Thursday nights and that's about the extent of my poker playing these days. The game moves much slower, and you can't multitask like you can on your computer, but at least the game is fair. Might be something worth looking into. Sorry to hear about your tough break Louie.
