Man, I've been reading about this and am quite shocked at the extreme action the govt took. There's no doubt that almost all online sites, starting using the same illegal practices of transferring money directly to banks. I play on Bodog and am really suprised that they werent included in this. I've been considering withdrawing the majority of money I have in my account but havent yet. I've read that Dwan and galfond both have over a million in there full tilt accounts, I think its funny that there are so many young poker pros that prolly had a majority of there net worth in there account and temporaily have no "real" money to fall back on. I just wonder if other online gaming companies will cut ties with US players to avoid some type of prosecution.

However it happened, whatever, I don't care to be honest. How this government can justify going after things like online poker and steroids in baseball is beyond me, my only hope is that this somehow leads to some sort of regulation of the industry and others like it.

You're exactly right Dale. They were flaunting it by advertising on TV, sponsoring pro poker players, making deals with Steve Wynn, advertising on ESPN. They are basically thumbing their nose at the gov't. That is not that way to go about it. The poker room should have stuck with affiliates...working with sites like us, twoplustwo, and other communities, not blabbing about their success on TV... Our top sites like BetUS, Sportbet/5Dimes, even Oddsmaker do not do business like this. They realize that their US customers are important and will not risk over exposure.

They got ratted out by a bank exec. in Austiallia who spilled the beans and had information on all the processors. Eventually U.S. players will get their account balances back and other poker rooms will acquire the players that left the other sites. It's like prohibition. People are going to play poker and gamble online whether the US gov't likes it or not.

The gov't does this every few years as a big scare tactic and a way of generating some some capital (yes, even in the "changed" obama administration). This way the gov't can bring in some money without raising taxes (and killing what little popularity Obama has left since his election).

Oh yea...Is this the "Change" that was promised during Obama's campaign? Funny. It seems like the same old slimy ass politics and the same ignorant government power that we're used to in America. The people who work for sportsbooks in Canada and the UK, just sit back and laugh at how idiotic our government is.

The DOJ facebook page got pounded with messages in support or poker and in resentment of the DOJ/Government's actions. The Poker Player's Alliance send over 20,000 emails and messages to congressmen, senators, and the president in the past week. Yes, they are voters too...

This whole thing is just sad to be honest what the US cant just cause some little scheme somewhere to make there money so no they have to attack online poker. I am glad I am in Canada
