What did I learn? What you have done this season. 8-8 BUT UP ALMOST A GRAND.

What has shocked me in my education in the restaurant business?
PEOPLE GO AN ENTIRE LIFE TIME AND NEVER LEARN ONE LITTLE FACT.

GIVE odds....YOU WILL LOSE.....pick_em and take odds....YOU WILL WIN.

Bet a regular bet on the whole....BUT WHEN YOU HAVE THE "REAL" THNG.....BET YOUR ASS ON IT.

WHOLE LIFE TIMES AND THEY NEVER LEARN THESE SIMPLE THINGS.

I have to agree with zorro on this one, your luck will run out betting on the favorites. I was doing really well the first couple weeks of the season using favorites in the parlays but now that strategy has hit rock bottom, not going to do it anymore. Might still play the occasional OU though.

I definitely agree with Zorro. Betting the dogs is the way to go in baseball. It takes 2 sometimes 3 wins to cover a loss by a favorite in basebaall. I don't like those odds. Play smart - look for for the live dogs and profit.

And Yes Louie-- How about them Orioles!!!!!!!!!!

Please dont say bet the dogs and then bet the Orioles. I hope your just rooting for them and not betting them cuz then thats being a hypocrit now....GJ Orioles.

Also, if i'm not mistaken i want to say 3 out of the last 6 plays i saw on Zorro's thread were FAVORITES and the other 3 pick'em. Then i did see 2 U-dogs with the Rays on the road....RAYS ON THE ROAD???? what were you thinking!!!!?? hmm??

Zorro, I CANNOT thank you enough for the wins you have gave me this past year in the NCAA's. Your plays are golden and i owe you for your thoughts and your system but we cant be the same on everything or life would be to boring.

Not sure who you are referring to Biggz. So not quite sure how to take your post.

I am a huge Oriole fans and as a personal policy i NEVER bet my favorite teams (Orioles, Bills, Sabres) regardless of the line.

Dude i just realized your from Rochester....what part?? I'm from Rochester too! lol, i dont know what i was saying, but your right, i never bet my teams either..other than the dodgers but they havent been my official team since this is the first year i'm really following them. I never had a team in MLB before. I'm a huge Bills fan though! I used to have season tickets but i didnt have the time last year.

I always bet on/against my Maple Leafs in hockey. If anything you know your team better than the average joe and you pick up on little things that other people wouldnt since you follow them and watch their games most often.

In the NFL 90% of my friends are vikings fans. I like them, but I"m not a huge fan. Anyways I watched every single one of their games this past season and I believe I ended up 80% ATS on their games all season long. There was one game where the Vikes were at home to Seattle, and Antoine Winfield was hurt for the vikings, putting Brian Williams as their number one CB and Terrence Shaw as their second CB. I knew that Seattle had two great recivers and that there would be a huge mismatch with Seattles second reciever and Shaw. The spread was at -7 for the vikes and I sent the house on Seattle +7 and the ML...what happened? That little mismatch gave that seattle reciever (his name is slipping my mind) a 120+ yard game and two TDs to give Seattle a 3 point victory. I saw it as an easy win even though I was betting against a team I liked when most people probably didnt see the loss of Antoine Winfield as a big loss.


Anyways, whats my point? If the only thing you can do is bet FOR your favorite team then you should never bet on them, but if you're willing to bet against them when you sense a loss then I think you should do it, since you probably know them better than the average person.

Although if you're one of those people who say, "oh yeah, the 49ers? yeah we might go 16-1 this year, maybe 15-2 if we have an off game"....then, lol, you should NOT be betting on your team. Because there are definetly people out there like that.

If you think any team is gonna go 16-1 then you probably shouldn't be betting at all until you figure out how many games are played in a NFL season.

SO I NEVER BET FOR OR AGAINST THEM. other than that i love watching football, my favorite sport.

kbiggz- Yep live in Roch NY.(Penfield). Huge Bills Fan and Season Ticket holder since they signed Jim Kelly. Love the whole experience at Ralph Wilson stadium- from the early morning tailgate to the game. Even though the games have rough to attend throughout the Bledsoe/Johnson/Flutie eras. Don't get me wrong I put in the prop bet every year for the Bills to win the super bowl. But if I am at the game it is hard to bet them. I dont care if they win by one or forty, just win.. A cant imagine a "true fan" betting against their favorite team. Just my opinion.

I love betting baseball I feel it is my most profitable sport..Betting the dogs and winning is like free money! As for football I stay away from the NFL except for 'capping contests..

yea bro, i go so early to the games, last year i camped out at 3 with my buddies RV, we were drinking from 7pm-9am then went to the game...funnest times of my life. No women to worry about just the guys having fun waiting to do battle!!! We have a preday warm up and watch Braveheart and just party...its crazy i love going to the games. Flutie era wasnt bad dude...he made it fun. But the other two were hard to handle. If you went to the Patriots game last year, it was sickening b/c it seemed like there were more PAT fans the Bills fans. I almost got into two fights cuz those fuckers are obnoxious.

I know thats his home team really but he should have taken his game up to Canada and his brother would have joined him and it would have been nice. Now i'm not a true supporter.
