Da M-E-T-S..>>

Does anyone think the Mets can win three straight? I'm hoping I found a "streak" to ride for a while. The mets took the last two from the up-and-coming Philles squad and now face the red hot braves. The braves however, have cooled off of late losing a series against the Reds. I know the Mets have alot of injuries but I have a feeling they are going to go on a little run.

Mets have won 4 of last five and two straight, here's hoping they get #3, sweep the Braves (or at least take the series) then head back to Philly to take another series.

Cheers

NY METS +180 thought mets would sweep atlanta, guess not as the got spanked yesterday. Maddox shakey all year. His ball simply isn't moving as it usually does. He relys on finess and movement, not speed. This is why Maddox is strugling overall.

I still say the mets are in the mist of a breakout and I'm gonna chatch that wave early and ride it right thru Phily.

1-1 in this series so far.... what a difference a day can make.

METS +180 (list Maddox-R / Seo-R)

Cheers

Stewman,

Gotta disagree with you on one comment. The man has been relying on finesse & movement his whole career. Who is the hottest pitcher in baseball right now? I do believe he is a New York Yankee who also relies on finesse & movement.

Louie, that is what I was trying to convey. Maddox is a placement pitcher, not an overpowering type. Maddox has NOT been hitting his spots and that is what has been hurting him this year. He did look great yesterday He threw only 84 pitches and was yanked in the 8th leading 1-0. He gave up only 3 hits, walk none and struck out 3 as he retired the last 11 hitters he faced. His ERA dropped 5.54 to 4.99. Prior to this outing his last three starts yeilded an 0-2 record with a 7.41 ERA.

I thought the mets had a shot when Burnitz cranked his second home run of the series in the 8th and took a win away from Maddux however, Atlanta responded with a two runner in the bottom halve of the 8th and the rest is history.
