Friday Baseball Pick
TODAY'S FREE PICK
Today we will be playing the Cleveland Indians to defeat the Tampa Bay Devilrays. C.C. Sabathia will make the start for Cleveland today and it is too bad that Cleveland has not provided him with more runs or he might have a shot at being a 20 game winner this year. Sabathia's numbers are still solid though, a 10-7 record with a 3.48 ERA. He has pitched even better as of late posting a 2-1 record with a 2.18 ERA over his last 3 starts. Victor Zambrano will start for Tampa Bay today and he has not pitched all that bad this year but his numbers are not as good as Sabithia's. Zambrano's record stands at 9-6 on the year with a 4.24 ERA. Coming into today's game both teams are playing good baseball right now. Tampa Bay has won 7 of their last 10 and Cleveland has won 8 of their last 10. Over that span both teams are hitting around .260 and both of the bullpens and team ERA's boast solid numbers but Cleveland's ERA's are a run lower in the bullpen and overall. The only difference is the quality of opponent that each of these teams have played. Tampa Bay has done this while playing sub par teams like Baltimore, Kansas City, and Toronto, while Cleveland has put their numbers up against the likes of Minnesota, Anaheim, and Seattle. Also consider that Tampa Bay is a horrible road team as their 19-37 record indicates, and that Cleveland has taken 14 of the last 18 meetings between the 2 clubs and we have a solid selection.
