Lineups announced. No surprise that the fan elected starters consist of half Red Sox, Yankees, & Cubs. Fans voting for the All-Stars is so incredibly pathetic.

    Here are the starters:
    American League
    Pos. Player Team
    C Joe Mauer Twins
    1B Kevin Youkilis Red Sox
    2B Dustin Pedroia Red Sox
    SS Derek Jeter Yankees
    3B Alex Rodriguez Yankees
    OF Josh Hamilton Rangers
    OF Manny Ramirez Red Sox
    OF Ichiro Suzuki Mariners
    DH David Ortiz* Red Sox
*injured, will be replaced by the Rangers' Milton Bradley.

    Natonal League
    Pos. Player Team
    C Geovany Soto Cubs
    1B Lance Berkman Astros
    2B Chase Utley Phillies
    SS Hanley Ramirez Marlins
    3B Chipper Jones Braves
    OF Ryan Braun Brewers
    OF Alfonso Soriano Cubs
    OF Kosuke Fukudome Cubs
    DH NA*

    MLB Halfway Point: 58-56 +2135

There is absolutely no way that I am laying -145 on an all-star game. I posted some stats in the other thread about why I don't think there is much of a difference in the leagues as far as the best players are concerned. I think the only reason that the line i so high is because it's at an American League park and the AL has won the last 10 games (or something like that). I'll take the NL to reverse the trend and let the chalk eaters enjoy laying 45% juice on an all-star game (no offense AL bettors).

    2008 MLB All-Star Game Play:

    National League +125
    (250 to win 312)

I'm with ya Louie... no way I'm laying money on the AL, even though they seem to find a way every year.

All star games usually mean bet the over. I wouldn't lay -145 on the AL either, so just a total play for me.

Chalk bettors in MLB usually, from what I have seen, bite the dust long before the season ends. That alone has little, if anything, to do with this particular game. I do feel that the long ball hitters will have the better of it, so if I had to make a bet, I think I would take the over. Some of these guys lately have been lighting up the score board.

I don't know about you guys, but I really enjoyed watching that one. That was a really exciting game. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong end of a close matchup. However, that game should show you how evenly matched these teams are.

I was in for 1 unit on the NL as well and even though it was a loss it was still a great game going into extra innings. The close calls at the plate were something that you do not see a lot of and to have what 4 or 5 in one game. And even some of the highlight plays that came out of the outfield were cool. Give the guys something to play for and they put on a good show. I would have liked to see it go to like the 20th inning to see who would have been pitching...lol "Now pitching for for the AL J D Drew" what the ****???" It would have been funny. Still, I enjoyed it.

Any Yank fans should go and stick your head in a toilet and flush it a few times. Whats the deal with threats against Papelbon's wife???? It is not her that has your starting lineup swing at fly's and looking silly in the box. I know, he said he should close vs Rivera. I thought confidence for a pitcher was a good thing. So you Boo him, I'm ok with that... but wait... he was pitching to help the AL get home field adv which would help the yanks if (and that is a BIG if) they were to play in the WS. Whatever for him, but to mess with the mans wife... that is such a low life piece of shit thing to do. Any respect I had for Yank fans have just been pissed down the drain. I hope the spend a shit load on Bonds and finish below 500 and miss the playoff's altogether. A-Rod has mental issues and only hits 3 homeruns for the rest of the season. Yea I am a bit bent. It has been said many times and many ways... F the Yankees!!!!

    See ya'll later... I'm out.....

I am in total agreement with you Marino. The Yankees fans showed absolutely no class what so ever during the All-Star break. That is exactly the type of stuff you get from Yankee fans when you hold an All-Star game in New York.

New York Fans - Grade: F

I love the shots of Bud Selig when the game was in extras. He just looks like a total schmuck. I can't stand him. Worst commissioner EVER!
