You guys all know I'm a Detroit sports junkie and I think this is a very shortsighted deal by the Tigers. Illitch (83 years old) wants to win now at any cost. The Tigers are going to be paying Prince $25mil/year long after he's any good. This is a very New York Yankees type of deal. There is a reason he sat on the market all off season and nobody paid him like Pujols. The NL has beaten the AL in 3 out of the last 4 world series because defense and pitching win championships, I don't think having Cabrera at third and Prince at first is the solution. Last year VMart hit .330 with 103 RBI, then he went and tore his ACL this offseason, meaning they need another bat. Prince hit .299 with 120 RBI so for the 2012 season. IMO this is a $25 million dollar lateral move at best.

It's funny, cause with all the bad history he has with Detroit, he was not coming here. But.... Give him a winning powerballticket to come here and bam, guess who s back. If we can get a world series out of it, then it is worth it and I'll be happy. Anything less, seems like a glutinous waste of money.

I foresee some big chemistry issues here. Prince w/ Leland is the biggie. Theres gonna be trouble. Prince is also gonna dip in slg % in Detroit. He's always been self centered in his at bat strategies... Or lack thereof.
