Saturday Plays

Hey Guys,

I know it's early but I am going away this week and won't have access to a computer for the games. My picks this week are:

TCU (+1) vs. BYU (330-300)

I like TCU to win this game at home. TCU has a very good front seven, allowing only 20 yards per game on the ground. I know BYU is a pass-happy team, where TCU is allowing 186 yards per game (still a good number), but remember that TCU played Oklahoma in Norman, so those numbers are a little more inflated compared to how they play in-conference. That game tested this TCU team and they should be ready to go against the Cougars. TCU played BYU very close on the road last year and I look for them to win this year.

Iowa (-3.5) vs. Wisconsin (220-200)

This is a Wisconsin team that is reeling. They come into this game losing two straight at home, including a 41 point beat-down to the Nittany Lions. Iowa has very strong run defense, and forcing Wisconsin to pass the ball with a beat-up QB (or back up) fares well for the Hawkeye defense. Iowa plays very well in Kinnick Stadium and I think they get the job done at home.

Boston College (-2.5) vs. Virginia Tech (330-300)

Boston College played V-Tech very well last year, and neither of them were at home. This year, BC's run defense is allowing less than 100 yards per game on the ground, with a great front 7 that is improved from last year's squad. I look for Boston College to shut down the run and force the Hoakies to pass the ball, causing several turnovers and leading Boston College to win this game.

I think I agree on TCU, they've set the line to tempt you to take BYU. Good luck!

By the way, thanks Donkey. I was away since Thursday so couldn't respond until now, but I agree. I believe they were setting that line to try to tempt people to take BYU. I think people did take it, and the line still moved hard in BYU's favor.
