Quick Peek at Week 7
Ok guys, lets light this thread up with some good discussions on who should win, why they should win, and yadda yadda yadda.
Doing a quick glance like i usually do, two games sent the lightbulb in my head a spark and lit it. KC +1.5 at Miami.....ok guys, this IS the same team as last year but with better chemistry. Miami looks like they are great on paper but when it comes to game time they collapse and i dont kno why. Their defense is tough and they have a good runningback now with ricky williams just waiting to explode. That guy is a bust, he is the Maurice Clarett of the NFL. Miami might have looked good at home beating a Denver Broncos team week one, but from then on they have been looking worse and worse. (side note:ever wonder how much better Denver would have been if they never traded Portis for Bailey??? Portis would be a 2,000 yard back). KC wins by a FG or more. Detroit +3 over Cleveland...another team who is getting to much respect are the Browns. Rueben Droughns rushed for so many yards because why??? HE WAS ON DENVER...if i played for Denver, being a running back for 6 yrs in pop warner football, i could average 40 yards a game. Cleveland has no running game, they have Dilfer which equals no passing game, Braylon who? Detroits defense is creating turnovers and their offense is slowly starting to come around. Jones is a great back along with those wide outs which one is hurt i believe and one is suspended now. Harrington doesnt need a huge game, he just has to manage it properly, Detroit wins this one by 7. *Which Baltimore team are we going to see in Chicago?? The one where the defense will be Ortons worse nightmare and end up with the win or the team who cant do anything at all, even on D cuz they are playing for practically the entire game. *Game of the Week : Dallas at Seattle...is this Dallas team for real? Is Seattle for real finally? A great fast defense vs a great fast Offense. This game is going to be fun, and for some reason i like Seattle...i think ill stay away. *Denver is playing great...but mostly at home, this team lost at miami to the freaking dolphins...can they lose in NY vs the G-Men and Eli??? What are YOUR thoughts??

The two games your a looking at look pretty good but I think this is one of those traps again. KC getting points against a an average team at best seems too good to be true. I am going to stay away from this game b/c it looks to good. Maybe I will tease KC +8.5

I'm not sure the books are really able to make trap lines at this point in the season. At the beginning of the season they were able to because the public didn't have a firm grasp on which teams were going to be for real and which ones weren't....but the past two weeks they've setup what "appears" to be a trap line and the public has won on it so I wouldn't look at it that way. Not saying I like KC either but don't let the lines control who you like to win.

Biggz I agree with you that Cleveland is getting too much respect. I'm thinking that Detroit will win this game outright. The Browns aren't a very good team and shouldn't be getting the points based on the fact that it's in Cleveland. I'm really liking Lions +3.
Also, the Eagles (-4) should cover at home against the Chargers. Coming off a bye, which proceeded Dallas giving them an ass kickin, I think Philly will come back strong. Definitely a good team to tease atleast. |

i think you mean portis not porter, and yes he would be up there with tomlinson and alexander if he stayed with denver. remember the breakout season he had befor he left, i remember the 5 td 220 yd rushing game he had on monday night that year. they should of never traded him. anyways my picks below
Dallas @ -3 Seattle< alright i think its safe to say seattle is a serious contender in the nfc. no way no how can dallas bring their HOME playing abilities up to seattle and win this one. dallas has been iffy on the road all year, and its clear to see they are a way better team at home. julius jones may be sitting this one out again, and even if he plays i cant see him being a big factor. dallas is due to get popped and seattle is due to show that this just may be their year. alexander is gonna run all over them, and evn if bledsoe has a good day they will still lose by a fairly nice margin because of problms out of their backfield. this will be a running game the whole way through and seattle will murder them. seattle 27 dallas 16 Denver @ -2 NYG i think this will be the game tatum bell gets stopped from his 50 yard dashes towards th endzones. minus that, denver in my mind is your average NFL team and the same with the giants but the giants are home and will be ready to play big in a must win in the tough nfe east while denver's heads are still big over some wins they recently got and they will get beat. NYG-30 Denver-23 thats all i like this week so far. friday i will come up with a third. |

i still like Detroit, and KC, lets hope thats the way it goes.
I like Buffalo +3.5, the only thing that scares me is if we can stop LaMont Jordon...i believe with Holcomb in we can win outright but if not, lose by 3 at the most, something like 13-10. I dont know if anyone read this, but the back up to Rodney Harrison just went down with a season ending injury so now the Pats are really thin in the Defensive Backs. I also like the Packers -1.5 at Minnesota but i stayed away. Seattle vs Dallas looked interesting but i let that one go too cuz i think it will be a great game.

Right now, I'm looking at KC, St. Louis, and Indy....St. Louis is coming off a short week and looked rough with Martin in.....but, Martin knows that system, he'll have some practice time under center, and New Orleans defense is not Indy's defense. Combine all of that with St. Louis on the turf and I believe St. Louis wins the game.
Also, I know the Colts -15 is a big number, but if I am going to take Colts -14 vs St. Louis and cover, Colts -15 vs. Houston seems like a gift. There is an obvious concern with the "look ahead" rule with the Pats, but I think this is going to be like the Colts/Saints game in New Orleans last year where Peyton has his way. I am also leaning towards the Packers, but like kbiggz, I just can't pull the trigger yet. Good luck to all. |
