Well, The Bears take the expected offensive lineman, good move in my opinion but taking the Tulane running back in the 2nd round might be questionable. I guess we need a little more competition but we desperately need a WR, guess we'll see what they pick up later. I actually expected to see a trade as they have 11 picks in the draft.

I actually thought the Lions did pretty well this year and I follow the draft religiously. Kevin Smith may be the true hidden gem of the draft. If you think they underachieved because they drafted an offensive tackle, a) you are wrong & b) you have to admit they overachieved getting Smith that late. Cherilus is going to be springing Kevin Smith loose for big gains. I was rather impressed to see the Lions actually taking their offense in some other direction besides loading up on Wideouts. A running game is more then required in the NFL.
As far as the bears go, I still think this team needs to groom a new QB. They also need help protecting whoever is back there as they seem to have trouble with pass protection. From what I hear, they may have helped out in that area considerably with Chris Williams. I haven't seen much of Vandy, but I read some positive things on Williams' teamate, Earl Bennett. This just may be the Wide Receiver that you're looking for BPD and don't even know it yet...
Overall I thought the best drafts were done by the Ravens and of course the Chiefs. I felt Glenn Dorsey was by far the best player in the draft. He is going to be an absolute stud. I thought the Ravens did the best job of stealing some impact players that other teams overlooked in order to fill specific needs. I am a big believer in taking the best players available regardless of your teams needs (with reasonable exceptions).
My Double Pennies...

As long as Jarmacus Russell doesn't put on another 200 pounds this offseason the Raiders might have a bright future.

I heard that he is entering the Nathan's Hot Dog East Contest in 2008 and has been training hard.

"Ladies and Gentelmen, from the flight deck, this is your captain speaking. Due to a weight issue in the plane's cabin, we are no longer going to be able to take off."

LOL!! Seriously though, he will be in shape in my opinion by the year starts. I think someone was exaggerating his weight a tad.

OK. I am done. Enough fun a J. Russell's expense. We'll see. Of course the media can over-hype and make issues out of nothing. But, then again, sometimes the media can under-play stories that are a bigger issue then people realize. Time will tell. But, if he truly is overweight, he has 4 months to get back into shape and he better do it.
However, that one shot of him last year that one perticular week (Buffalo I think it was), where he was hiding under his coat from the cold, didn't instill me with a lot of confidence. lol..

I remember hearing stories about certain NFL players can't exactly remember their name but they were big black O linemen. They would gain about 40-50 pounds during the offseason and somehow some way by opening day were back down around their playing weight. Even if he is overweight he has plenty of time to lose it, and knows how much money he is being paid and how much hope/faith he has on his shoulders. We will see how he looks on opening day.
