So what do you think about the gambling scandle going on? You think this is going to put even more of a hurting on the nhl?

I think its a big deal right now but in the next week it'll blow over until they make some other announcement but its sounding like that will take a long time before they actually find out more info. Overall right now its bad for the NHL, although I'm not sure that fans are going to suddenly leave because one assisant coach is being caught in the middle of a big gambling scandal. I think most people in the back of their minds already assume that stuff like this is/could be going on. I do anyways, lol. Most of the commentators in Canada seemed shocked that there was a possibliity of gambling going on in the NHL but when you think about its a great spot for people to do it.

Well they say they have Gretzky's wife implicated but if you ask me Louie is probably right and it was Wayne making the bets and she was just passing along the money. If you saw Wayne questioned about it yesterday it was supposed to have been the first he had heard of it when a reporter mentioned it but if you ask me he did not sound surprised at all.
The other thing they're talking about is that Tocchet was giving away "inside info" to people and not just making the bets. I've been capping hockey all season and really a couple of minor injuries to 3rd and 4th line players here and there isn't going to make a difference to who you pick. And if its a 2nd or 1st line player its not hard to find that injury info online. The only other stuff he could know is possibly players playing hurt or the status of certain goalies on certain nights which would be useful. The other thing to think about though is really how widespreadd does gambling go into sport? Sure it got busted in the NHL but are you going to tell me its not going on in the NBA or MLB? I guarantee it is.
