Two Wolfpack football players arrested on felony charges
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Two North Carolina State football players were arrested Thursday and charged with a felony for using a campus debit card that did not belong to them.
Cornerback Marcus Hudson and linebacker Corrie Dawson used an all-campus card at a vending machine Tuesday that belonged to another student, N.C. State police said. The card is similar to a debit or credit card that can be used at various places on campus.
The student told police that $344 was charged to his account before he realized the card was missing.
Warrants were issued Thursday for the two players, who turned themselves in to campus police, sports information director Annabelle Vaughan said.
Vaughan also said coach Chuck Amato has suspended Hudson and Dawson indefinitely from the football team. N.C. State officials declined to comment further on the incident, citing the student athlete code of conduct.
Hudson started all 14 games for the No. 12 Wolfpack with three interceptions and 40 tackles. Dawson played in 10 games and had 27 tackles.
