Sunday NFL Football Analysis: The Cincinnati Bengals take on the Indianapolis Colts in an AFC Wildcard game on Sunday from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The Colts come in to Sunday’s matchup at 11-5 and have won 4 of their last 5 ball games. That loss was a 42-7 blowout loss to Dallas, in which the Colts were dominated in every aspect of the game. Andrew Luck has had a fine season, with 4761 yards and 40 touchdowns with 16 interceptions. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton has really broken out this season, with 1345 yards and 7 touchdowns. They’ve had to deal with the injury bug at the running back position, but Daniel ‘Boom’ Herron has done an admirable job averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
The Bengals ended their 2014 season strong. They might have lost to Pittsburgh last week, but before that the Bengals put together 2 impressive victories over Cleveland and Denver. The Bengals won 6 of their last 9 regular season games, and a lot of it has been due to the breakout rookie running back Jeremy Hill, who has 1124 yards rushing and 9 touchdowns. Hill brings a physical aspect to the Bengals offense, which they had been lacking for quite some time.
I’m recommending grabbing the points with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Many may look at the 27-0 win the Colts had over Cincinnati back in October and think the Colts will due the same thing. Not the case, as that was a bad spot for the Bengals. They had just come off a physical 37-37 tie over Carolina, and had Baltimore on deck next week. I think the Bengals will have success running the ball on Sunday, as the Colts defense has been extremely vulnerable as of late. Another thing I look at is Cincinnati in the playoffs last year, they lost at home, and now they’re on the road and I don’t think they’ll have the same pressure on them, all of the pressure is on the Colts. The Bengals have been playing good complimentary football as of late, and I expect it to continue on Sunday. I like the Bengals to win and advance to the divisional round next week.
